Jenna Westbrook

Location: Outside Town Hall --> the Voodoo Shop

Jenna let out a small sigh of relief. No one seemed to have noticed her. Pulling out her phone, she saw a few unanswered texts. She wasn't going to be able to beat them to the mine at this rate, so she thought through her options. She could just not respond, but that may worry them. Another option would be to send a text that looked like it had been cut off, as if she had been fleeing quickly and hadn't had time to send it. Telling them the truth was out of the question. Tapping her fingers up against her phone, Jenna finally decided on a text to send Fin.

To Finn and Dec:

I don't see you guys... -J
Yeah, it was a bit of a cop out. But Jenna wasn't too interested in creating a gigantic web of lies, not just yet at least. She preferred the smaller, easier to manage web. She'd just keep on sending little texts until she either met up with them at the mine or they got irritated with her and left. At any rate, she shoved her phone away and made her way quickly across town on foot, eventually making it all the way to the shop.

Right on schedule, she saw Mayor Ryder outside. Perfect. Smirking a bit, Jenna headed into the shop, hoping that there'd be some answers.

Guinevere Stark

Location: The X-Van
{"That's my problem - I always want to make things clever."}

In the midst of all of the conversations and arguing, the color drained from Guin's face as a realization struck her. This wasn't that much different than organic chemistry mechanisms. Creating something that would target one reaction site couldn't be easily modified to target another one. It'd be easier to modify that substance to protect the original target, and add another substance that would come in to attack the rest.

"The addition of a protecting group before a reaction," Guin whispered, her eyes wide. Magneto had stolen a virus designed to target the X-gene. Everyone had been pouring over the research in the laboratory, attempting to find out how he had transformed it to target humans and then, how to create a cure. But Magneto didn't need to switch the genetic guidance system. No, he made the initial virus into a vaccine against the next one. It would contain a blocker, designed to attach only if the host had the X-gene. Then when the next virus came in, that blocker would deactivate it.

The mutants would live and the humans would die.

"At least a week..." Guin then muttered, moving her hands in front of her and tracing structures in the air that only she could see. "Mary, get Beast on the line. There isn't just one virus that Magneto is releasing - there's two."

Guin then glanced around the van, thinking of a way to explain this. "The virus made by S.H.I.E.L.D. had a genetic guidance system, designed to attack the X-gene. It's incredibly difficult to just reverse that system. Instead, you can use the system to add on a shield, a suit of armor so to speak, for everyone with the X-gene. You can then release a specifically designed virus that only that shield, so to speak, can defend against. Mutants live, humans die."

She drummed her fingers against the window of the van. "But he wouldn't want to do it right away...He'd need to do a test run, make sure it works. Likely an aerosol delivery method, easier that way, but those do tend to spread...If he has unleashed the test of phase one, all of the mutants in New York are already vaccinated, so to speak...Magneto just needs to wait until he's confident all of the mutants have absorbed the original virus, the one with the blocker. Then...goodbye humans of New York."

"Pietro, I need you to give us a run down of everyone currently active with the Brotherhood. And I'd like to request to be sent to the lower floors. It's deadly, but it's S.H.I.E.L.D. This is more than me and that's where I can help the most."

Scarlett Cromwell

Location: Community Center
{"Have fun in hell, bitch!"}

Scarlett had no reaction to Donald's words. Most would've been horrified but she merely smiled sweetly, though her smile was simultaneously venomous. She was like the tales of the sirens--beautiful yet horrific. She didn't bat an eye at the thought of her bestie being killed in a ritualistic sacrifice. It didn't even appear initially that she registered the doctor's presence, though Scarlett turned and gazed at him. A professor of business administration? That just meant he was a fuck up who couldn't succeed on his own. Those who can't do, teach and all that.

"Nah, you've told me plenty, agent," Scarlett scoffed. She was just itching to slash the man's tires. He hadn't given her much in the way of useful information, beyond the fact that apparently some cult had killed Lucy. That wasn't something that she expected, despite her own affiliation with dark magic. While she was a natural witch and didn't require the help of demons for magic, she easily could've been called a Satanist. It was the closest description of her mental state, beyond a general desire to get what she wanted and take from everyone else, all while being adored.

"Good luck with the Satanic cult," Scarlett said, as she turned on her heels and started to head out. "I'm sure they'll eat you alive or some shit."

@Morose It may give me more to work with if I had any idea who Septima was talking to >.>

Yeah, that last little “>.>” conveys mad to me ._.
@FantasyChic No wizardry and no hacking. Just don't get mad at the GM if you miss something - more often than not, you just gotta reread.
@FantasyChic Reread the first paragraph, as well as look back at your own posts. Septima is talking with Millicent.
@Gilgex Alright. That's cool. Would we want to restart this without it being in the Powerbound 'Verse, since those RPs don't really happen anymore?

~remember, some of you were sent information as to what you know about the Mullo and Hel via PM a while back...~
Coventry Circus Grounds...

It was less than an hour ago that they had entered the circus, intent on avenging Andromeda's father. It was less than an hour ago that so many people were still alive, their minds filled with idealized notions of justice and righteousness. Yet now, both of Sal Aldrich's children are dead. Folly's only surviving family member, beyond her cousin that James had met with, has died. Strong, someone who cared for Lilith fiercely, dead. October, someone similar to a sister to Carolina, dead. Liam and Aloise, who perhaps could have been something more, dead. The O.M.E.N. agents-- dead. Seraphina and Emmie -- dead. Alexander, the first victim, dead. While this may not be as well remembered as the Altsoba Massacre, that doesn't mean the blood doesn't stain the pavement. The blood seeps into the ground, poisoning the soil.

Yet there is still more blood to spill. We have not yet finished. You have not yet met the person behind all of Mephistopheles' plans. She is coming, my children, she is coming for you have risen Hel. The fabric of reality itself is being torn and broken, remade and then ripped once more. First the kumakatok and now the mullo - these are both symptoms of the larger problem.

Hel is coming.

Folly glanced back at Lilith. In romani culture, names have power. Many people are not told of their true name until they reach adulthood. And as for the dead, often times their names are not repeated, as to avoid disturbing their rest. "I don't know...We call her Curse. But her actual name is a mystery. Names have power in my culture."

Fortunately, Seraphina was successful in prying the mullo off of Lilith. For a moment, the creature stilled as the angel attempted to smite her, but once the intense white light from Seraphina's attack faded, the mullo was still there. Her movements were a little slowed and sluggish, but it wouldn't be long before she was back at full strength. The mullo seemed to notice Katsumi's hesitation and like an attack dog, it bounded over towards the woman. Ready or not, here she comes!

As for Aloise, the ex-marine has no pulse. If Eudora is lucky, the healing spell may work. It is powerful enough to resurrect a human being, but the odds of it succeeding decrease exponentially the longer the individual has been deceased. For Aloise, she had already been dead for minutes. It wasn't likely to be successful but...

"Language," Aloise croaked, gasping as her eyes shot open.

In the midst of James' charge, the mullo had already changed directions and targets. However, his phone would begin to buzz and ring, indicating at least twelve missed calls. But bizarrely, only James' phone would work. Every other phone in the room had lost signal, but his had regained it. Who knew how long it'd last for - perhaps he could call in back-up. Of course, when he looked at his phone, the missed calls were from two people: Edwina Fairfax and then a representative from MI13. Each had left several voicemails.

"How is your phone working?" Folly asked, hearing the noise.

Outside of Coventry...

Guin snorted. "Right. You're not on the run. You're just on the run," Guin commented. But she was rather certain in not wanting to go to Coventry. There were people looking for her and she didn't feel like being found yet. It was why she had given her cards to Carolina - they'd follow the purchase trail and keep off her scent for a little while. "I'm gonna have to pass on that. Hard pass. But you go on ahead."
