Port Royal:

In Port Royal, there was a general state of emergency. The Honorable Alice Blackwood had gone missing a few days prior, along with Miss Jean Waverly. While the rooms had been inspected, there was no sign of a forced entry. This conclusion itself would have been seen as harmless, meaning that Alice Blackwood had simply run away, had a witch not escaped execution that very same day. The Witch of Tortuga was sentenced for death, yet she escaped the noose and had not been sighted since.

Lord Blackwood feared the worst: that the witch had kidnapped his daughter and intended to sacrifice her in a grotesque ritual. Ordinarily, the Governor would have sent the British navy after Miss Blackwood and Miss Waverly, in order to ensure their safe return. But strangely enough, a large portion of the navy fleet stationed at Port Royal had been deployed for the Bermuda Triangle already. With limited resources at their disposal, the best Lord Blackwood could accomplish would be a supplemented crew: half British navy and half willing volunteers.

Many of these volunteers were so-called pirate hunters. Former pirates, they were spared the noose and trial as long as they caught other pirates. With a destination like Tortuga, there would be plenty of reward in store for them, as they receive a fee for each pirate they catch. They're entitled to keep the loot, after all.

Standing on the deck of the Octobris, Robinson Savant took a good look at the assembled crew. They were a ragtag bunch, but there were easily twenty on board. The captain of the ship, William Barnes, was staring at the sea, his hair masked by a wig of white curls. The other officers had clumped together for the most part, with those from the navy receiving preferential assignments on the Octobris. Captain Barnes waited a few more minutes, before turning around to address his ragtag crew.

"Our mission has two primary objectives. The first is to retrieve a flask that is of interest to the Crown. It is to be intact - do not allow a single drop to spill. Second, we are to retrieve the Honorable Alice Blackwood. And third, we are to kill the Witch of Tortuga."

The Port of Tortuga:

"Yes. We can survive without it, yet we will surely thrive if you are capable of obtaining it," ALisanne mused. There was a glimmer in her eye, as if she had knowledge that she had not disclosed to Edgard. Of course, she had murdered her sister. There was likely an explanation needed there as well. "The family was contacted by an interested party. Should Havanna fall, we shall receive political power in France - the granting of a feudal property. Yet as it is, we are incapable of such a feat without the flask. Retrieve it and then cripple the Spanish forces in Havanna. Simple, really."

She then turned, and for a moment, she smiled at Edgard. Once he blinks, she'll be gone, with no indication as to when or if she will return.

The Devil's Triangle:

For Anastasia, this is the last trip she'll be able to make to the island and back. Too much time has been spent talking. She'll only be able to carry two bodies with her at most, and even then, the journey is going to be increasingly difficult. Not only is the host itself beginning to wear out with respect to the flask's powers, but the host is also gradually fighting back more and more against Anastasia's possession.

Septima narrowed her eyes slightly at Sirena. She had been studying this magic for years - sometimes, it felt like decades. She understood the rituals, as far as there was information released on them. She alone knew that they were trapped by the flask and that it gained its power from the souls. She only needed to strengthen both the body and the soul. "I will. I have faith in self," Septima said bluntly, her thick accent still present.

As Millicent and Elissa look at the flask, however, they'll begin to notice something strange - something that no one else can see. Very faintly, there are etchings in strange symbols unlike anything they had ever seen before. Yet should they attempt to read them, they will understand their meaning - Drink, if you are worthy -Æ.

Update is going live now. We are going to be doing a timeskip in the near future. However, this is also a chance for everyone to bring in more characters, as I am opening up the Port Royal location

Jenna Westbrook

Location: the Voodoo Shop

Jenna watched Miss Halsey like a hawk as she took the book. She was a tad bit worried that Miss Halsey would attempt to claim it as her own and would refuse to return it. But even if the woman practiced magic, she was fairly confident she could take her in a fight if needed. Voodoo had to have some prep time required, whereas ripping a book out of someone's hands and running was a fairly fluid motion. Thankfully, though, Miss Halsey returned the book and Jenna placed it inside her bag.

"Interesting," Jenna commented. By principle, she felt obligated to keep the book now. Ever since she learned of her adoption, she became more and more defiant of authority. Miss Halsey's warning was then perceived as a challenge, despite its good intentions. And even if it hadn't been Jenna's stubbornness driving her decision, there was still the fact that it was evidence in an investigation. While no one in the police knew about this particular piece of evidence, she wasn't about to burn it.

"Tell me about demons," Jenna requested. "And don't hold anything back. I don't scare easy." Of course, she already had a plan formulated in her mind for her next move, once she got the rest of the information she needed. She would approach this problem scientifically. She could head home or to a place where no one would disturb her, and once there, she could try the book out for herself. There was a fair chance that it was all nonsense, but her gut told her it was real. The more she understood about how this worked, the more she'd be able to understand what happened to Mayor Ryder.

Guinevere Stark

Location: The X-Van - New York, New York
{"And don't do anything I would do."}

It was a waiting game at this point. Hopefully, Carolina would be successful in infiltrating the Brotherhood's security. If not, they would have only succeeded in tipping their hand to Magneto and their followers. It would be hard to justify it as a decent approach, strolling up to the laboratory and announcing their arrival. Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm - those veterans weren't here to save the world. It was up to the rookies to get things done. And if they couldn't do that, then there wouldn't be a world left to save - just one to avenge.

"Should be good. Remember: if you find any samples of either virus, please collect them. We need to get them back to Beast in order to synthesize a vaccine and a cure," Guin reminded everyone. She left off a thought that had been troubling her slightly - that is, there was a chance not even Beast would be able to come up with a cure or a vaccine. With something thrown together so quickly, it was entirely possible that it had some sort of unintended fatal flaw to it, one that would make removing the virus that had bound itself to the gene near impossible.

Had she been trained in how the X-Van operated, or if she had her watch with her, Guin would've been quickly hacking into the relevant servers in order to give them an additional layer of security. Instead, she contented herself with taking out her phone and quickly logging into the S.H.I.E.L.D. database, skimming through the files on the Brotherhood members just one more time. It was something to do while they waited for Carolina to take down the outer layer of security.

Unfortunately, it only took her a few seconds to scroll through files she had practically studied before on the mutants known to be affiliated with Magneto. They had no records on the other two that Pietro had mentioned. Those two would be wild cards - but with one of them being some sort of psychic and the other a shifter, those unknowns were even more worrisome. If they knew an individual's powers, they could take measures against them.

"Mary, Allison, we'll want to try to make coordinated strikes if possible. Allison and Mary, I think you two would do well as first responders, so to speak. You both have excellent combative powers. You can attack them physically, while Carolina attacks them mentally. I can assist with the physical attacks as best as I can or proceed to move farther ahead, in order to cover more ground in the least amount of time," Guin proposed.

Lizzie Roswell

Location: Brotherhood Headquarters - New York, New York
{"Monsters don't hide underneath your bed."}

Lizzie moved with a little bit of a skip in her step through the hallways, her hands swinging at her side. She had her long sleeved black coat on and cocked her head slightly at the human guard. She disliked humans as a rule of thumb, finding that all of them were the same in the long run. They all attempted to control those with gifts. Still, he would serve well as a human shield, just another obstacle between them and anyone who may attempt to stop them.

"Catch," Lizzie said simply, taking off her coat and chucking it at Adder. Truthfully, it didn't matter really where her coat was. Its entire purpose was as a precaution, in case she was knocked unconscious while fighting. Magneto could manipulate the metal strips laced into the fabric to bundle Lizzie up, allowing someone to then carry her without making contact with her skin. Her hallucinogenic power was always active, whether she wanted it to be or not.

She stared at the guard for a few more seconds, before her eyes moved to the building's entrance. No one appeared to be trying to enter, but she knew that someone would turn up soon enough. Magneto was soft on the X-Men. And no matter what, they'd always come. To her, it would've been logical to simply kill the X-Men. While it was mutant blood, it was minimal compared to the blood spilled by the humans the X-Men defended.

~remember, some of you were sent information as to what you know about the Mullo and Hel via PM a while back...~
Coventry Circus Grounds...

No outside aid has come for those in Coventry. It had been five minutes since James' phone started to work at least. Hadn't Edwina indicated that she was almost there? And wasn't Jade just outside of Coventry? What was keeping them from coming to the rescue? Of course, it was likely to be a suicide mission if anything. For just as the tide seemed to have turned against the Mullo, misfortune reared its ugly head...

Cecily let out a yelp as the Mullo charged her, flinging her hands out in front of her defensively. Amazingly, the ground beneath the Mullo liquified almost instantaneously, causing the Mullo to fall into the liquid mess. Unfortunately, this perfectly positioned the Mullo to swipe at the belly of Olivia in her charge. With extraordinary force, the Mullo punched upwards, breaking several bones in the wolf's body. There is likely to be massive internal bleeding as well, with Olivia falling to the ground.

The Mullo then swiftly turned and grabbed Millicent, throwing the woman at the wolf. While Millicent isn't nearly as injured as Olivia, with mostly deep bruises forming, the werewolf is in critical condition. James' bullets missed the Mullo entirely in the fray, with one of them grazing Folly's leg. Fairfax, in his infinite protectiveness, quickly pulled his distant granddaughter out of the way, before staring at the door the Mullo had came from. The portal was still open.

"Get it to charge!" Fairfax shouted. "If we can lure it to the door, we can send it back to where it came from!" He looked at Eudora, given that the witch was attempting to stab the Mullo. Her luck was better than most and she hit her mark, with the Mullo recoiling before turning to face Eudora, head on. Katsumi's knife hit the mark as well, further wounding the creature. The Mullo was wounded, but would Eudora be able to use the hawthorn against it? It was a gamble, to say the very least.

Meanwhile, Aloise was beginning to regain her voice. "Don't know - where. Cage was empty..." Time in hell drags on. It's approximately 120 times faster than here on Earth. For Aloise to be dead for a few minutes on Earth, she had already spent hours in hell. But of course, that was rather strange...Why did Aloise keep going to hell when she died?

In the side tent, Seraphina will notice that all of the costumes appear to be in stations. Each station has a name card for the individual(s) who get ready there, as well as their belongings. Unfortunately, none of the stations read Fiodora's name. Her death was recent, but it seems likely that they had already collected her things and moved them to another area. Perhaps there's a storage tent somewhere?

Outside of Coventry...

Unfortunately, there's no cell reception for Carolina. Her phone, as well as anyone else's in Coventry and the surrounding area, refuses to work. How did James' phone work, then? It may just be a mystery for a little while longer. By the time Carolina reaches the main road, she's about a seven minute walk from Coventry and seventeen minutes from Cirque Anomaly. There's no quirky brunette on the side of the road to keep her company, but at least there don't seem to be any O.M.E.N. agents either.

"You look lost, child."

A good ten feet in front of Carolina is perhaps the most horrific being she had ever seen. The being removed her helmet, made of thorns, revealing a marred visage. One side of her appears to be beautiful, alive, healthy. The other side is the exact opposite. It is the face of a rotting corpse. Strangely enough, the being smiles - though not at Carolina. No, instead it is something behind her. A gigantic beast, the size of a bear, darts forward to join the woman.

"You should be rejoicing," the woman commented. "I, the champion of the Council of the Aesir, have returned. You will not suffer much longer, child, as the world will be reborn once it rises from the ashes." The being then placed her helmet of thorns on her head once more, before drawing a sword. On the sword, the words Nótt sverð are engraved.

"For I am Hel," the being finished, before expertly flinging the sword at Carolina as if it was a knife. The hilt of the sword struck Carolina's head, before the sword itself miraculously returned to Hel's hand. The goddess watched as Carolina fell to the ground, her skull cracked, but the girl was still alive. Raising a bit of an eyebrow, Hel gave an affectionate pet to the wolf.

"Azrael gave my cloak to her favorite child," Hel mused. With her cloak, her powers increased exponentially. She would be unstoppable. "It is time I reclaim it."

Jack Hudson

Location: Building F (The Newnans' House)

Jack grimaced a bit, hearing his wife (he assumed) curse. He really wanted to go and get someone from medical for her, but if Tatiana didn't think she needed them, then he wouldn't. Froggy had been through a lot today and so had the rest of the team. They had lost their last patient, after all. He smiled weakly as Tatiana assured him that everything was alright - that it was just morning sickness. But given that it happened right after Miss Sally died, he wasn't too sure morning sickness was the only thing going on.

"On it," Jack said, smiling at his wife before heading to the kitchen. He grabbed a glass and filled it up with water, recoiling for a moment as a strange scent struck his nose. He crumbled a little bit on the inside as he recognized the scent: has and grease. Coughing a little bit, Jack felt like crumbling but his wife needed him. Making his way back to the bathroom, he set the cup of water down by Tatiana and then got her toothbrush and toothpaste. She had just felt the world give out beneath her. He'd just have to soldier on a little bit and deal with seeing/smelling/hearing Dick for the mean time.

Beatrice Decker

Location: The Meeting (Three-way intersection near the Hershall Norred Water Plant)

Beatrice arched an eyebrow. "Did everyone go to high school together?" she commented dryly, just low enough that only Ryan would be able to hear. There were too many connections between the newcomers and Newnan for her liking. While it was possible, she couldn't help but feel like it was improbable. The world was small, but was it really that small? She hadn't seen anyone she knew from before in ages. Though to be fair, her circle was on the West Coast. She had been in Coney Island when the outbreak started. It was a little more logical for East Coast people to run into other East Coast people.

"I won't lower this, but do what you need," Beatrice answered. She wasn't going to allow herself to be blindsided, but if this 'Jet' wanted to take care of the walker, then so be it. Someone would end up doing it eventually. And the sooner that was dealt with, the sooner they could figure out their next move -- which seemed to be offering 'Jet' and her friends more condolences over their losses.
