Dear Mr Curly,
I have done little travelling lately because I have been so dreadfully weary. Can it be true as the old Ecclesiastes said; that all things lead to weariness? Surely not. Perhaps the opposite is true: that all nothings lead to weariness. I have a peculiar feeling, Curly, that I am worn out from something I haven't yet done and the more I don't do it, the more exhausted I become. How strange. Could it be something I haven't realised? Perhaps it's something I haven't said? Something I haven't finished! It must be very large and true whatever it is and a lively struggle in the doing but I look forward to it immensely. I know I need it. First, however, I must curl up in my chair and sleep deeply with the duck. Perhaps I'll dream of this thing and wake up refreshed and do it. My fond wishes to you Mr. Curly, and to all Curly Flat.
Yours sleepily,
Vasco Pyjama

P.S. Not having breakfast can make you weary. That's for sure!

The combination of her improved mood and the absurdity of the rumour made Sabine let out some high-pitched laughter. She shook her head. "The dragon did not teleport on its own. I think that is enough of a hint about that." She closed her mouth, still smiling. Her tone sobered quickly. "Much has happened only recently. The announcement will sound big and happy, I think, but..." Sabine lowered her eyes and sighed. "I think...you will understand when you hear it. You and your pride."

Sabine blinked twice and forced a smile. "But I do not want to dwell on that. I do not think you should, either. I am happy you are here, Ri'kalesh. I hope we have time to catch up with all your pride and my...my pack, like before."
In which someone discovers their amputee fetish.

You say this, but my mind is instead flooded with AlbexDabbles birbmen OTP.
While somewhat lost in dressing with heroism in mind, Sabine went along with Meesei's suggestions. They eventually settled for some simple, practical clothing with a thick pelt-lined cloak. The fur was not only warm and cosy, but performed a small measure of making Sabine look bulkier than usual. The cloak also made her necklace more focal. However, during the selection, Sabine was not especially picky. She was distracted. Likely by her upcoming speech.

Sabine remained quite all the way to the feast itself. Holding the staff did make her stand up straighter and put her shoulders back. The anxieties that pervaded without the power in her hands were not overcome just yet, it appeared.

Seeing Ri'kalesh put an excited smile on Sabine's face that she realised she had not shown since Karl left her room. "Ra-...Ri'kalesh!" She remembered the proper title at the last moment. "It is so very good to see you again." Sabine took Ri'kalesh's hand, hesitated, and then pulled him into a hug. "How is La'khay? How is Ciinriel? How is Tzirret? How...how is everyone?"
It was decided. Outside of the bouts of the tournament itself, they had a new mission. Ming was so excited that she thought she would have trouble sleeping. As soon as she was out of her armour and on the futon, however, she felt all her energy get sucked away into the soft surface. She did not realise the sensation until the sunlight peeked in.

Ming greeted Marthysan with a bow, a smile, and a quiet good morning. As good as the tea smelled, she swiftly excused herself for her morning prayer. She lit a stick of incense, held her silver locket in both hands, and spoke at barely a whisper to Daikitsu. She thanked her for all the help the day before, hoped she enjoyed the song and the food and all the excitement, and kindly requested her watchful eye for another day. She promised to share some more today.

>Spell prep: Just as yesterday except swapping Compel Hostility for Stone Shield, Desecrate for Shard of Chaos, and Savage Maw for Grace.
>(This is not at all because Mutton was a dumb-dumb and forgot to buy the material components for Desecrate)

By the time Ming stood up from the balcony, she consulted her party for whom to receive a little trick for the tourney today. They knew the procedure by now. Maiko offered, and Ming sat with her for ten minutes to gently chant and wish blessings upon her. Then, abrutly, Ming poked Maiko on the nose. Maiko felt her bones hum for a moment. She was imbued with Daikitsu's favor.

>Imbue With Spell Ability cast from domain slot. Maiko may now cast 2x Cure Light Wounds and 1x Grace, each at CL 10.
>Maiko has these spells until they are used, or until Ming dismisses the imbue effect.
>These imbued spells do not require a divine focus to cast normally, but we'll need to get a spare holy symbol for other spells for future imbuing.

The rest of the morning was mainly spent bickering over selecting a team name. Ming had plenty of suggestions to give that were promptly discussed for little to know length of time. 'The Tail Chasers,' 'Hanani's Honeys,' 'The Bun Munchers,' 'Daikitsu's Divas,' 'The Moƫ Marauders,' and 'The Fruit Foxes' were the highlights from Ming. She wondered how they could make a decision at all if such wonderful titles could be shuffled off on a whim.

Nevertheless, they had a muster to attend. They signed in, much to the jumpiness of Ming, making her armour rattle as they were brought to their first bout.

"Yesyesyesyes! Let's fight!" She made no effort to hide her teeth as she bounced in place and bestowed boons to the party on the final countdown.

>Bless: (Standard action) Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects. This lasts 10 minutes.
>Stigmata: (Standard action) Ming takes 1 hp of damage each round as she bleeds from ritual markings. Ming gains a +1 sacred bonus to saves until she stops the stigmata.
>Folding Tower Shield: (Move action) The buckler on Ming's arm springs out in extradimensionally hidden surfaces, clacking and clicking into a tall rectangle emblazoned with nine etched fox tails. It's a tower shield now.
Got it.

Sorry if I'm a bit slow, I've been busy moving house lately.
Dude last RP it took me all of like 5 pages to realize it was Sauranath and not just Sauranth. I just dropped an entire syllable on every mention in the IC and nobody even corrected me once, lol.

Sabine, after standing up with Meesei's motion, held the necklace in both her hands. She looked at the dragon teeth nervously. Whether or not she had been avoiding the weight and prowess of her actions up until this point, the teeth made her face it. She turned up to face Meesei and smiled lightly. "Thank you," she said, tying the cord around her neck. She stepped up to give Meesei a hug and Meesei could tell she was tense.

Karl, who's interest was piqued by Meesei's words, walked carefully up to the pair when they pulled from their embrace. He looked at the necklace curiously. "Is that...are those what I think they are?"

"Mhm," Sabine stepped up to Karl and held the teeth closer to his eyes.

He took one in his fingers. "Exquisite..." A grin grew on his face. "Few in this clan would claim many others to come close to you with this, Sabine."

Sabine huffed some nervous amusement and turned her head to the desk.

"How have you progressed?" Karl asked.

"My words have not changed much since I started writing them," Sabine explained.

"It sounds like you know what to say already," Karl said, placing his hand on Sabine's shoulder. "Go on ahead with Meesei. You will be fine without spending any more time thinking on a speech. I'll see you after I run a few errands of my own. Perhaps the staff will make you feel safer in your words as well."

"Okay," Sabine smiled and gave Karl a quick kiss. As Karl gave both her and Meesei a farewell nod and turned to leave, Sabine took a deep breath to wake up properly. "Should I...wear anything else in particular? This dress is not what I would wear on a hunt." Sabine tugged on the skirt of her plain dull blue linen dress. Something in her tone hinted at an irony picked up from asking Meesei -- the former treeminder from Black Marsh and seasoned wilderness wanderer -- advice on what to wear to what amounted to a party.
Damn, Guarded Hearts was something. While I obviously liked the TounxJvan bonding time, I very much liked Toun's reaction to Whisper's blasphemous 'I've had enough of your kind' stuff. For his stalwart defence of godkind, who are the most derided beings in the damn Universe (mostly by easily smite-able mortals), Toun deserves a medal. Fate should reward him. I hereby petition Fate and Amul'Sharar to reward Toun's defence of the gods.

I would warn against rewarding Toun for being a dick to depressed kids. It'll only encourage him.

All the same, thanks for the praise.
I've been trying to work out what exactly Arksynth is. I understand how it came to be and so on (the whole Vaky Deus Ex Machina stuff), but I don't really understand what it is and what it is capable of. Is this quote an accurate explanation?

<Snipped quote by Jvan to Nameless Sculptor>

It can literally be anything you mould it into? And something to do with rolls

As I understand it, you pick a bunch of things that you'd like it to mould into, and then it moulds into one of those things by random chance.

interesting to see how these two have progressed after 2 years ...

Fark, they're two years old now?
