To all my players and writing partners; Don't worry! I've not vanished or forgotten you. I've had something come up, and will be taking the rest of this week off from my RPs. See you next week!

@Kenshi Please specify which dwarf. You mentioned guard, and Einkil is technically a criminal.
@Mae
19 If I did this correctly.

Well, that's amusing
@Necroes 1d20 + int since he's still trying to use it like a wand. You can either make a dice campaign or use an old one if you have one

Could you please expand on this? I've literally never used dice rolls on this website before. Every dice game I do online always has a matching discord server devoted to dice rolls.
@Necroes +wis if Einkil's using it inappropriately to stir a pot or something, +int if he's genuinely trying his best to be magical. Technically with magic missile you're supposed to have a target, but I like this way better.

How and where would you like me to roll? Currently, Einkil was just wagging the damn thing around, and is using it as a pointing stick. The rich guy is the current 'target' though Einkil isn't actually actively trying to use it.
@Mae Well, if we're going to be rail-roaded, might as well get to the meat of the matter. What do I need to roll to determine if Einkil accidently fires off the wand?
Einkil had been busily unloading the crates from the wagons as the dwarf spoke. Being a friendly sort, as well as a fellow dwarf, he was more than happy to lend the older gentleman a hand. His had been the first name signed on the list, before the sum of payment had even been mentioned. Being less than sober, the idea of getting to test a bunch of magical wands-something he'd never done before-seemed like a good time in general. 'What harm,' he reasoned, 'when the man asking is a fellow dwarf? Surely he could be trusted to not put others at risk, especially with money involved.'

So it was that Einkil would use his large battle axe to pry open the lid while the dwarven wizard spoke, reaching in to snatch up a dozen or so of the wands for himself. With one wand in his left hand, and the others carried under his right arm like a bundle of twigs, he began to wave the short rod about above his head. When nothing obvious occurred, he turned to the wizard, pointing the wand at him.

"Say, cousin," he began, speaking in only slightly slurred dwarven. "How does one go about using these kinds of fancy magic tools? Thinking about it, actually, what exactly are we meant to use them on?" While Einkil was not entirely estranged to magic-the world was full of it, after all-his teachings on the matter essentially amounted to his parents warning him to steer clear of it; A fact that often crossed his mins when faced with similar predicaments, but which he was currently too intoxicated to recall.
A gnome and a kobold in the same party...

If we're keeping to the traditional Greyhawk lore, this is going to be interesting indeed.

Praise be to Garl Glittergold!
@Dark Cloud It's best to ask @Mae about rules and the like. It's her campaign. Anything I say about the world is with an invisible asterisks with the disclaimer: "Standard to the lore. The DM determines if this is actually true."

Also, I wasn't trying to get onto you. Asking a question is fine; Talking is fine; Holding a conversation is fine. When you repeatedly ask the same question, without expounding in any way as to why you needed to make the question multiple posts, you're not doing any of those things.

You may not have noticed, but not all of us get onto this thread very often. I get to post maybe once a day, sometimes less. This is currently the only game I'm in, because I outright don't have time for any others. Having to scrolls through pages and pages of posts, looking for the ones relevant to me, takes time I don't necessarily have. This is true of many people in the guild. Generally, it's a good rule of thumb to respect people's time by keeping your posts concise and not spending multiple posts addressing the same topic without adding new information. Having to wade through all of that can be irritating, thus why I warned you that doing it could get on people's nerves.

Likewise, interactions between yourself and the DM that can be handled privately are best handled through PMs. It gives other players less access to meta knowledge they shouldn't have, and helps make sure things that aren't relevant to the entire group aren't taking up pages of dialogue in the shared group OOC.

No one is perfect, we all break away from this sometimes. It's still a good rule of thumb, and calling someone on it isn't about trying to insult or belittle them. It's a reminder that said rule of thumb exists for a very good reason.

@Cao the Exiled Deedra may be smart and pretty, but Einkil is rocking a double-digit health bar and a +2 to hit on a d10 weapon. By all accounts, I'm the group tank.
Also, @Dark Cloud

Fun fact; The creature you linked to has an intelligence of 11. That makes it a sentient creature. 'Owning' it would actually be slavery.

Please knock it off with the begging. Spamming the DM about whether or not you can have an item, or if we're using a specific rule, clutters the OOC thread and will do nothing but get on everyone's nerves. If you're not sure about something, ask in a private thread. Or, better yet, because this is supposed to be a fairly casual game, just assume that you'll have to settle it in-character. If the rule comes up in character, we'll address it then. If your character wants a winged cat, see if you can buy one in-game.

I like Pathfinder Goblins better than D&D Goblins.

Pathfinder goblins are worse! Have you read their lore? I own every core book on the subject. Those things are monsters. Their race is default chaotic-evil for a reason.
