To all my players and writing partners; Don't worry! I've not vanished or forgotten you. I've had something come up, and will be taking the rest of this week off from my RPs. See you next week!

@pugbutter Still interested? You never answered my question, so just thought I'd check. I'm teaching Dark the rules, and he's picking it up fast. If you're okay with running with a DMPC for a little while, then we should be good to start at some point soon.
@Dark Cloud Can you use any sort of instant message service? KiK, chatzy, I think a few e-mail systems allow for instant messaging. Just anything that would let me text you in real-time instead of through forum style posts. We Could do it all through PMs, it would just take longer.

Also, are you able to peruse the link I gave, and is so, do you have any questions about the world/setting as a result?
@pugbutter How for/against the storyteller running a character in their own game would you be? DMPC is the usual term, though not sure it applies here.

I ask because I think we might get a bit more traction if we can actually get the RP up and running, but I don't want to do it with less than three characters in play. Speaking of;

@Dark Cloud If you're still interested, I think I've come up with a way to build a character for you and to explain the basics of the system. As long as you can use some manner of instant messenger (discord, for example) then I think we could pull it off. As for information about the setting:
It's not perfect, but this wiki is a good start. At the very least, it will give you a good idea of what you're looking at, in terms of lore.
Still accepting new players. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
@Mae

So are we meant to post our actions IC or are we only supposed to state our intentions OOC?

I second this inquiry.

My intent was to post my actions IC, rolls included, holding back on depicting the results until the dice rolls had been interpreted. My original statement on their outcome OOC was really just me being a smart ass because the numbers showing were pretty extreme.
@pugbutterSeems he's dropped interest in this, unless I'm mistaken. His status was updated to show as much. I'm not going to close this IC, but it may take a while before we have enough players to start.

bwhahahahaha, I don't know what I was expecting but not that. Roll me that persuasion check!

Would the deception check (the first roll in the post) not cover that? I'm actively lying; Unless you're telling me that the sheriff really is walking towards the crowd with the brute squad.

EDIT: Guess I wasn't entirely clear with what the rolls were for. I updated the post to reflect that.
@Cu Chulainn Sorry, friend. The Toreador aren't in the habit of manufacturing hounds. If they need soldiers, they can create a ghoul. Much more useful, because they can still walk around in the day time. If they need assassins, they hire a Nosferatu. Their own ranks are reserved for those who make themselves useful in the social scene.

Also; I don't buy the 'blade work as art' angle. Violence, especially against humans, is very clearly designated in this system as something that tears down and erodes your humanity. The Toreador love of art connects them more strongly to their humanity. To me, that reads the two as being mutually opposed, within the rules.
Having studied combat tactics and traditional martial arts, I can also attest that serious fighters do not think of themselves as 'artists.' Performers, maybe, but to think of the violence inherent to being a trained killer as 'beautiful' is the sign of a deranged mind, not an artistic one. Good instructors are trained to look for that kind of thing, when they're training new soldiers. It's an easy way to identify a sociopath.

No; You'd be much more likely to find a soldier or a fencer who considers what they do 'performance art' among the ranks of the Brujah. The notion that a Brujah can be calm and precise when needed is a much easier sell, to me, then trying to justify violence as art. I would have made a connection to a Toreador who sired this kind of kindred with an anarch, but you pointed it out yourself; that train of thought would be more in keeping with the sabat.

Yea, no, sorry; It would be far easier to see a Brujah siring this character then a Toreador.
Excellent. The peasants swarm around the cart area.

@Necroes Einkil gets to react first to the peasants. What does he do?

Based on those rolls, I'm gonna say he lies his ass off to a bunch of easily persuaded, moderately drunk carnival goers, then proceeds to make himself an obvious scapegoat by tripping over his own two drunk feet.
