Soul Eater: AID in the Witch Wars

The faint footsteps could be heard echoing throughout the Death Room as a cloaked woman walked beneath the eternal pathway of Torii gates. Each gate was lined with a silver guillotine blade that looked menacing enough to drop onto any innocent passers-by. Fortunately for the woman they were more of an ornament than an actual device of murder, according to the one who had the name of 'Death' that is.

"Ergh..." Anubis groaned lightly as she approached the mirrored wall and stepped through, back into the the academy, "It's not my fault the Kishin decided to wake up and destroy the world with madness, and now I've got all this work to deal with!" As she walked she peered down at her hands, her paw looking hands, and within them was a large envelope with a whole pile of documentation and work that AID had to deal with. Anubis fully understood why her department was given the increased workload, after all most of the higher lever Meisters and EAT students had been involved with the Kishin incident and many of them were still recovering. Even Death looked worse for wear with half his mask still missing and a weaken state that meant he had to rely others for much of his work.

Anubis kept walking throughout the school, passing many of the students and getting some of the weirdest looks possible. Some of them could sense her Soul and felt a different aura about it while others couldn't help but notice the animal like features that she dressed herself with. Whatever the reason they seemed to avoid her slightly and cleared pathways before her, giving her the slight thrill of feeling like royalty.

In the end she arrived at her meeting room and opened the door to see several others sitting down, talking amongst themselves. A few new faces and a few that she recognised from her previous jobs, but all people that were dedicated to the cause of protecting humanity at whatever cost possible. Taking a quick count to make sure everyone was there she followed up by turning the latch on the door and pulling a side table over next to it. On top of the table sat a radio to which she promptly turned it on and tuned it to a suitable radio station that played her favourite classical music. A few hundred years and I still love the sound of the old tunes. The music wasn't really there for her entertainment, it was mostly to make it difficult for people to eavesdrop from outside the room. Anubis turned towards the group and opened up with her prep talk.

"Good morning all. Turns out that the next few weeks are going to be fairly full on for our group," She lifted up the envelope, showing the thickness that it held, "Now we are pretty fortunate to have a couple of new members, thanks to Death's approval, and I've already gone through the formalities with them about how AID operates, the secrecy that we must keep, and the work that we do." Anubis pulled open the envelope and laid the contents on the table, shifting her hands around so she could slide them into a large fan for everyone to look at. "So when you guys are ready, just pick out the contract that you want and we'll get get things under way."

Still waiting for Asgore to post the rest of her CS. Just wondering if maybe we can start up the RP with the rest of us and she can finish off her CS when she gets a chance.

Double dipping Interest Checks

It would probably be frowned upon to post in casual and advanced; one or the other's the way it goes typically. Both have different connotations at any rate.

Doing a regular category + nation/general happens semi-frequently. You can get away with that no trouble.

Something like Arena generally only goes into Arena.

You probably wouldn't get in trouble for doing two regular categories (I haven't heard of anyone who has), but doing free/casual/advanced and/or throwing the RP into additional forums probably wouldn't go well.

I wouldn't say it would be frowned upon. After all they are Interest Checks, a way to see if there are interest for a particular RP. With the way casual and advance are and how some players swap between them both, a GM could use the double up method to guage which will get better support.

There's also this stupid "High casual" thing that people title themselves with and it's just an excuse for not going into the advanced section when those players could probably do advanced anyways. So as a GM, it might be a way to entice some casuals to join their advanced RP (especially if the casuals never venture into advanced)

What I think is more important is how you double up effectively without pissing off members of the site. Even without doubling up I see people bump post every few hours for attention and I think that is worse then spreading a little bit of awareness in a second interest area.

To be honest, going back to what I said before, doubling up wouldn't even be necessary if people just occasionally ventured out of the Casual area, or moved their so called "Casual" RPs to the Free or Advanced area.

Thats fair enough. Sadly I get no time off from work except my usual weekends, so I'll be taking some time off later on next year. Summer kills me for work cause there's so many people wanting to buy things and everyone else usually has their break around this time.

On topic of the RP, what ideas we're you thinking of implementing?

Eagleton High [Just Your Average, Everyday High School Roleplay]

So that I don't hold anyone up with their posts and leave without saying anything, I'm going to step down from the RP. At the moment with Christmas and new years coming up and most of my weekends being taken up with events, it is somewhat hampering my role playing efforts. (Actually get no time off work during the break this year due to how the days fall)

@Lady Amalthea oh and on your mention of lack of sci-fi stuff. I notice that too. Seems to be a lot of star wars, mass effect, and halo style of rps, but I've yet to see a decent sci fi one that has had me interested. (And I love sci-fi)

Would you like someone to review you and announce to the forum that this person isn't a good person to RP with? (Not trying to be snarky, just asking for a different point of view)

It can come across as bad taste because the whole reason they fell out of the RP could be due to a variety of factors. Bad meshing, not grasping the idea correctly, personal life and health reasons, even just a change in interest can influence the flow of an RP. Solely blaming that one person does present the counter argument for yourself and could you have been after a different type of goal, but didn't realise.

(Wont go into the bad mannerism of flaming another member and how that could be an attack that a mod then has to address.)

In saying that, you have this thread and venting a bit can help hold back those explosions of future regret. :)

You won't believe how often I get member genders wrong. I'm pretty much guaranteed to guess the wrong gender even when I try hard to counter that.

But no rush. I know what life is like. Sundays are usually a write off for me with work til 6, and then getting up at 4am on Monday for that shift. T-T
