You JUST scrolled down!

Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another random themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!

My top RP's on the Guild:

Young Justice 2020
Justice League Unlimited
Titans of Gotham
Champions of Engine City
Marvel Reborn
Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]

Top Characters:

Ditto - Young Justice series
Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited
Leviathan - Titans of Gotham
Fastlane - Champions of Engine City
the Thing II - Marvel Reborn
Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return

I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!

Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.

Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.

OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, the Rocketeer, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.

Name - William 'Will' Wayde

Alias - Steel II

Age - 19

Sponsor - Superman

Personality - intelligent, quiet, confident

Experience - six months

Powers -

Will possesses no superhuman powers. He is an exceptionally gifted intellect that specializes in various fields of engineering. Graduating both high school and technical college in record time, he built bullet proof armor whose computerized pneumatic exoskeletal joints gave him superhuman strength in the form of electro-magnetic field generation. He also uses his tech to electro-magnetically propel himself through the air in the form of 'Super Jumps', as regular flying makes him sick.

Faceplate systems include broadband communications array, VDU readouts for environmental controls, and retractable thermal vision lenses.

Hammer Abilities

Remote-controlled
Can alter trajectory or stop mid-throw
Polarizing inertial dampers within hammer increase inertia relative to distance hurled
Magnetically attaches to back of armor.
Segmented handle telescopes into locked position.

Weaknesses -

Exhaustion will always be the bane of his existence. Vision based and noise based attacks, as well as mental attacks affect him the same as anyone. Enchanted weaponry Trumps tech and any alien Super DNA laying around as well.

BRIEF Bio -

Wayde was your average software developer working at Steelworks when he stumbled on the secret of his boss... that he was once the ally of Superman called Steel! Will worked for weeks building part of his own tech enhanced armor before revealing to his employer that he knew about his secret identity. It had been a couple years since John Irons stopped trying to be a hero to focus on his company and raising his youngest daughter Natasha who was still just fourteen. Irons began mentoring Wayde when not actually at work and mentioned Superman looking for a recruit for some new League outreach program of sorts. Wayde was the first person Irons thought of.

Over the last five months, William Wayde had put himself out there to try and gain some attention. There was an all new and all different Steel running around. Surely nobody would confuse him with the last one... he didn't wear a full suit of armor and doesn't have a cape. Then again sometimes people look past certain things and their own stupidity takes over.

Will eventually caught his break weeks ago when going up against the villain Deadline who was a mercenary hired to kill a reporter at the Daily Planet: Clark Kent.

Notes - Steel caught Deadline setting up to take down Clark Kent and a fight ensued. After getting away from Perry White, Superman finally hit the scene. However, Will had already managed to completely take down the mercenary. The hammer was just too much for the guns and ammo to be effective. Seeing firsthand what the kid was capable of was enough to know John Irons did right by this kid. Superman explained the Young Justice program and Will accepted the invite. Really... who could turn Superman down?

SAMPLE POST -

Clark Kent was in the office of Perry White, editor of the Daily Planet. The older gentleman had been going off on the disguised Kryptonian, for chasing a story the editor told him to stay away from. The last time Intergang was pursued a city was left in ruins thanks to a giant humanoid machine, and dozens of craters were left throughout the town, and several branches of STAR Labs across the nation suffered damage and a total of four casualties. Clark could hear the mercenary setting up for a kill. Perry's office was the least populated part of the building, so Superman stayed put and didn't act alarmed. He half listened to the editor tearing into him as he used his X-Ray vision to look at the scene outside. It was 4 pm on a Tuesday. That's when the all new Steel hit the scene.

"What's the matter with you, Kent? Am I boring you?" Perry White asked standing up from his office chair.

"No... no it's not that Mr. White. I just thought I heard something outside..." the nervous sounding Clark responded.

Outside...

"That's a nice gun, bet it's not for paintball!" Steel screamed after landing on top of the neighboring building where the merc was setting up.

The masked teen threw his hammer and destroyed the large gun and the hammer hit the ground on the far side of the rooftop. The globe on top of the Daily Planet could be seen behind the mercenary and the fallen hammer.

"You think I only brought one gun?!" the man screamed, "I'm DEADLINE, the HUMAN WEAPON!"

He came in close quarters and fired a couple shots in between a flurry of punches that just bounced off the kid's armor. When Will pulled back to throw a knockout punch he was shocked to see his enemy phase through the attack leaving the new Steel off his guard and on the ground.

"That armor's not half bad kid. Might make a buck off it once I ace you and this reporter..." Deadline joked aiming his pistol in the back of the teen head where the face-plate didn't cover.

"You'd get more for the hammer, idiot..." Steel responded, "Return." and as the last word escaped his mouth the hammer lifted itself from the ground and flew back towards the two men knocking the assassin out cold before resting in the hand of the teen inventor.

Three minutes had gone by. Maybe four. Clark Kent finally escaped the fury of his editor in chief. The reporter rushed to a storage closet and then flew out of the window just in time to see the young hero standing over the merc and crushing the last of his guns.

"You're that kid John was telling me about aren't you?" Superman asked.

"This guy phased through an attack earlier, you might wanna call somebody before he wakes back up..." Steel said in a disguised voice calmly.

"So do you know John or is there some other kid running around in a Steel suit and using a hammer?" Superman asked again touching down on the rooftop within arms reach of Deadline and the new Steel.

"I'm sorry Superman, I'm just trying to stay calm and not go geek mode. I'm a big fan." Will replied trying to keep his cool, and stand a little taller in the presence of greatness.

"It's good to finally meet you..." Superman began, extending his hand for a shake and quickly getting the hand of Will's, "Did John tell you anything about the program...?"

The Justice League in the year 2020 began accepting new recruits into their ranks. Batman's former sidekick Nightwing, as well as retired League member Zatara's daughter were now members of the League albeit with a special mission. To take young heroes and metahumans and train them to one day become members of the League while keeping them on the right path. Many of the kids are outcasts. Some are even alien. Each sponsored by a member of the Justice League. What will come of this Young Justice program? And is Midway City (formerly Hawkman's home) really in need of an entire team of superhumans?

Join Nightwing and Zatanna, along with ten recruits, on an adventure that will pit us against the remains of Hawkman's rogues gallery that will unleash Hell on Earth.

About the Mentors:

Nightwing - He's been training with Batman now for the better part of five years. If everyone in the League is between 27-35 years old, Grayson would just be entering his 20's. He took the alias Nightwing less than a year ago and took Batman's spot in the League after tagging along for a handful of JL missions as Robin.

Zatanna - Similar to the animated series, Zatarra was a member of the JL before his daughter. Like Nightwing, she took her father's place on the League roster after he officially retired from superheroics. Z is also just now entering her 20's, but has already made a name for herself fighting back the demons from the Chaos Dimension as well as joining Constantine for a few supernatural adventures. She recently had a handful of shows in Vegas that set her up for the next few years as far as her bank accounts were concerned.

About the Enemies:

Copperhead, Shadow Thief, and Bloque are all in it for the money. Lion Mane is in it for the respect. The Manhawks are being controlled. And the Son of the Fadeaway Man wants power. In a series of heists to take possession of certain relics, in a botched ritual, the villains will actually bring back the villainous Sabbac [the devil looking guy]. Here's a few links with a little info next to them about the guys we're gonna be up against.

Copperhead - enhanced speed and agility, the snake man also possesses a paralyzing bite.

Shadow Thief - can become completely flat, or shift his shadowy shape into any form he needs to get away or attack his enemies.

Bloque - has the ability to nullify people's senses. He can make you deaf, blind, unable to smell or feel, as well as unable to taste. He's also got enhanced strength.

Lion Mane - feral senses, claws and teeth, savage brutality, he will literally eat someone alive. Proportionate strength for an eight hundred pound humanoid lion man standing a little over seven and a half feet tall.

Manhawks - like Lion Mane, feral and savage, with a little less brain power. Excellent minions for anyone looking to cause some chaos. Their talons can pick the flesh right off of bone...

Son of the Fadeaway Man - son or the original Fadeaway Man who possesses the teleportation cloak of his father that also grants him invisibility and intangibility, he's the man organizing the relic hunt to bring Hell on Earth. However he doesn't know that it is in fact Sabbac.

Sabbac - was once the most powerful villain ever to face Capt. Marvel and Capt. Marvel Jr. Similar to Cap having powers of six champions, Sabbac's powered by six individual lords of Hell. He'll shrink to a more humanoid form and offer power in exchange for souls, but the main powers in his repertoire are strength, fire generation and manipulation, illusion casting, and telepathy.

Justice League Sponsor/Young Justice Recruit

Superman - Steel
Wonder Woman - Wonder Girl
Flash - Accelerate
Vixen - Stinger
Captain Atom - Bombshell
Black Lightning - Sun Fist
Nightwing - Gargoyle
Zatanna - Speed Demon
Red Tornado [F] - Blue Beetle
Mister Miracle - Silence

Booster Gold - @Drewvonawesome
Aquaman - @Divine Darkness ?

If you've read this far know that the tone of this RP will be similar to that of the popular animated series that's about to get a new 3rd season. I'm gonna shoot for something more PG-13 with strong language out the window, it just doesn't suit the theme well. I'm gonna insist on High Casual standards, if you can't get a couple paragraphs and a little dialogue in each post then just move along. A post a week in the IC is all I'm gonna ask of players, and to keep up with random game chatter and superhero discussion in the OOC once in awhile to let us know you're still alive and aware the game's moving forward.

GM Notes - 4/8/17 - I'll get the IC posted sometime over the weekend. Already got people lined up to fill the last two slots, and I accepted @ProjectOdin's Blue Beetle as well. Get ready to take the universe by the horns...

@Weird Tales He uses martial arts because he was created in Japan. Same reason they use swords all the time in expanded media despite them being super outdated, its just 2nd nature to that region.

~KL~

@Weird Tales Superman doesn't need to counter strikes or try and outgun somebody in close quarters. He can take nearly everything anyone can dish out and then crack a planet in half with a backhand. No time for an intense hand to hand battle when every strike sends somebody flying half a city away or farther.

The only people he'd use the martial arts on is other Kryptonians, Daxamites, Doomsday, or somebody with Godly power like Wonder Woman.

@Just The Wind They need something when their solar energy reserves are tapped. Can't always depend on powers.

I'm gonna try and work on the OOC a bit tonight and go ahead and have it up by the early AM [like 2-3 am my time EST].

<Snipped quote by Orange Juice>

Well I thought that a martial arts themed kryptonian was rather original since there hasn't been one yet in the comics

Um... Superman's learned several forms of Kryptonian martial arts. 'The Man From Krypton' and 'New Krypton' I think both had mentions of Superman becoming more formidable because he had his own unique fighting style that was lost to the universe when Krypton went boom... he constantly made mention of it when he was powerless in the Bottled City of Kandor as well because at times the city's inhabitants didn't always have powers like Superman because they were't exposed to the same amounts of solar energies [and because other times when they DID have powers, a criminal would escape the bottled city with Superman level powers].

He's nowhere near the MMA master Batman is, but with his enhanced attributes on top of ancient Kryptonian martial arts... he can pretty much kick anything's ass be it alien, metahuman, or machine.

Anyone got any idea for past relationships? Even just the characters opinion of each other if they know of each other's existence?

I thought of adding a relationships section to the CS but I fear it'd take too much time for everyone.

~KL~
@Archmage MC If you copied everything from a wiki I'm not even gonna look at it because the powers are way too much. That's generally the reason I don't accept Lanterns into these RP's because people look at a wiki list of every power used in 75+ years and think every single power should be at their disposal.

*looks at the list*

Yeah... pick like a handful TOPS. Nobody in any game I ever GM will have a list of powers that long. That I can promise everyone here.

~KL~
@DrewVonAwesome That's the best gif lmao

Everybody else has been fine with sponsor switching. And the character sponsored by Nightwing is the same type of vigilante, so I'm not gonna ask him to make a superpowered hero his sponsor. I'm doing what I can to work you in and I haven't even seen the rest of your sheet.

EDIT: And the Guild said you were active four hours after I made the post about accepted characters and switching sponsors. If you worked on the CS any after that and still used Nightwing that's on you.

~KL~
@Archmage MCWell none of us are at full power or potential, hence the Young Justice environment and League supervision.

~KL~
Zatanna is still available as a sponsor, so it would work.

~KL~
Is this OCs or 'OCs based on DC superheroes'? I sorta can't tell from the OP.

Sorta both. I think almost everybody is based on a DCU theme, it just has to fit with the universe. You gotta bring me more than Looney Toons though.
