@PatientBean White Witch would give us an opportunity to dive into the mystic stuff with the team! I wanna say at some point she was also a Black Witch. Her right hand guy IIRC was always Blok, a big rock guy. Sorcerer's World was always a location I thought DC could've done more with.

Brief Bio -

Thom lived and worked on a science outpost orbiting the planet of Xanthu with his parents. After a comet struck the outpost and sent it hurtling towards the planet's surface, Thom was exposed to gasses trailing the comet as well as radiation from the energy core of the science outpost. Within minutes his body became solid cosmic energy before he and the remaining part of the outpost crashed on the edge of a city. With his parents dead, Thom became a hero of the people of Xanthu for a short time. However, the trauma of falling from space and losing his family broke his mind. With the meds he was given he's completely normal, but when it begins to wear off he starts talking random gibberish and becomes even more reckless.

Background Legionnaire - Thunderhead (for Thunder) - blue alien chosen to wield the power of Shazam.

Notes - Depending on the version of Starboy, he's had similar powers to Superman or gravity based powers that come off like telekinesis. I went with the Superman esque cocktail with energy blasts and an energy form to change it up a bit and made him a little more cosmic. The telekinetic or electro-magnetic type of powers can be somebody else's.

the Alliance of Liberty City

The Son of Liberty, Interference, Painkiller, as well as Pitbull and mister late-to-the-party Stampede were all now at the Freedom Fortress. Stampede powered down and was hitting the weights and gym area of the HQ while Pitbull and Painkiller were working with a sparring robot repurposed from what looked like a Silverwing android. Interference was working through computer files and looking at some of the tech within arms reach when she glanced over at SoL's torch weapon he'd placed on the edge of the large computer station.

"Do you know how your torch works?" Eileen offhandedly asked Son of Liberty, "I mean, I assume it was designed by humans, and not say, aliens, for example; I mean, why would aliens design a weapon that resembles a symbol of our nation. It's not magical is it? I figure Spellbound would have said something by now if it was."

"It's just regular tech my mom worked on with the guy who was Megaplex. At one point she had a crown that worked in tandem with the torch to give her short term giant growth too but she only used it once or twice to help 'Plex. I'm using her first torch, manipulating electromagnetic fields to give me strength, durability, and that super jump. The one she used later manipulated EM fields enough to give her flight and an energy blast of sorts from the torch but I get sick easy and have shitty aim." Son of Liberty explained picking the torch up and placing it back down again.

"There's an alert up in the left corner of the main screen, you check that out yet?" SoL asked Eileen.

Eileen looked where son of Liberty was pointing and moused over to expand the notification. "Oh my! There's an attack in the city!"

Moments later the Son of Liberty leaped into action next to the new face in town. Painkiller was a few minutes behind him on his green motorcycle. The block of the city was a wreck, and the four armed orange behemoth that was once called Kid Cosmo was the one behind it all.

"You look like you could use a hand! I'm the Son of Liberty, you got a name?" Judah asked the new girl as Painkiller pulled up and immediately took to getting civilians healed and out of harm's way...

It was the year 2999. After three young metahumans/aliens saved the life of the new vice president of the United Planets on Earth, she promoted the formation of the Legion of Superheroes. From across the United Planets DOZENS of young aliens applied for the honor of defending the galaxy in the same way Superman and other heroes of the 20th century had done before. The selection process came down to the three heroes that had saved the vice president. And the robotic liaison to the United Planets, Brainiac-5, was there along for the ride documenting everything and assisting with tech and such as needed. Within days B-5 created the universal translators and flying tech built into Legion rings, belt buckles, and badges based on old blueprints from Green Lantern/Oan tech.

The United Planets furnished a headquarters in Metropolis. The HQ was constructed in what was once Battery Park, within eyeshot of a one thousand year old bronze Superman statue that's still standing roughly twenty feet tall. There were dozens of personal quarters for the individual members of the team, holo-droids to train with in a 'War Room' below ground, as well as a pair of star-cruisers any time the group had to travel to distant planets. Hundreds of thousands of aliens of all kinds lived all across the various worlds that made up the United Planets. Earth in itself almost felt alien. The cars were now flying, skyscrapers were larger than ever, and until the Legion returned it was missing its charm.

What was once conceptualized for good press to get the planet Earth on board with the United Planets became all too important when shit hit the fan. Before the announcement of Earth joining the United Planets, the remaining governments of the Earth began experimenting with old Cadmus cloning technology to create their own government metahuman task force. In theory a few clones of heroes of the past looked good on paper. However the DNA and tech the governments used to create their squad didn't come from heroes... it came from Superman's villains. Right out of the gate the Legion will have to combat a small army of Atomic Skulls, a kaiju sized Parasite, and a Kryptonian clone.

In essence the Legion of Superheroes are the X-Men of the DCU. Just instead of mutants its aliens and in the future. There's quite literally dozens of heroes in the Legion to draw inspiration from, alien races, etc. The main thing is that characters have to have internalized power. Its even been like that in the comics! Three of us would need to be the founding three and I'm hoping to get around six to ten players for this RP so I don't have to come up with a bunch of background NPC's. Also, since Ben10 aliens show up once in awhile in the cosmic DC stuff in the background we'll go ahead and make them available options as well. You wanna make a Legionnaire out of a Four Arms or Diamondhead have at it!

The only characters off limits at the moment are Brainiac 5 since he's basically our Alexa/Siri, and I'm going to put a spin on Starboy. With a Kryptonian clone as an enemy somebody could be a Superboy or Supergirl (or Lad or Lass since this is the Legion) but you'd have to make them a Daxamite like M'onel/Valor. Only difference between Kryptonians and Daxamites is that instead of kryptonite the Daxamites are neutralized with lead.

They've showed up in live action shows like Smallville, had their own animated series, they've been all over the place. To my knowledge it's been a minute since anybody's done anything with this on the Guild. If there's enough interest I'll throw a Character Sheet model up and we'll get after it one more time.

So... does anybody else wanna go back to the future?

the Alliance of Liberty City

@Silver Carrot Loved this idea as soon as I read it! Rn we've got two size manipulators running around. We've got Little Guy who I didn't do much with other than a cameo at the end of the first bank robbery half of us stopped. And Megaplex was killed by Judy Juggernaut who's wearing his helmet now to make her a complete badass in the Dark Alliance. She's eventually gonna start breaking stuff that needs broken in the eyes of the DA.

There's an opening I left for anyone who joined this chapter where Son of Liberty is showing off what will be the HQ of the Alliance of Liberty City to some people. At the moment I think I only mentioned Interference and Painkiller being there. However I also set up a scene where the Dark Alliance unleashed the remade brute/monster version of Kid Cosmo. I'll post a link to our Discord as well!
