@Lady Amalthea I hate to be that guy, but is it okay if I change my mind about bringing in Adrian as my second character, instead of as a back-up? I feel comfortable enough playing two characters now that I'm not overloaded with work.
Just strolling through casually, but is this still alive and going? Long time since I've taken part in a good Nation RP!

Whatever plan they had had earlier, if they had had anything closely resembling a plan at all before they attacked Eden, seemed to have worked better than anyone could expect. If Alexander wasn't mistaken, there didn't seem to be any wounded of their two teams, which was a surprise to the old veteran. But it was good, 'cause they didn't have time to regroup and tend to their wounds. Not if they wanted to get in, raid and raze the place, and get out before the Walkers certainly came. With this much noise, it was a miracle that they hadn't flooded Eden already.

For now though, the only hostiles were the Edenites. And unfortunate for Eden, the two teams were grouping up again. Alexander looked over to Thalia as she informed the group about the stairs. And she was right, attacking up a set of stairs was rarely a good idea. Now Alexander was far from an expert in urban combat and that kind of war, after all he'd been in the jungle. But certain general aspects did make sense to him. "While going in hard have worked so far, I'm not sure it's the smart way for those stairs." Alexander said to the others, looking around him for a moment, in case they were missing anyone else. "Down here we got them flanked on two sides. Like you said, Angel, on those stairs they've got the advantage. I suggest giving covering-fire as much as possible. The less they can see down those stairs, the better."

Perhaps he was too cautious with advancing up those stairs? After all, they had swiped the whole ground floor like nothing could stop them. Perhaps going in hard was the best? The Edenites were clearly not know with military tactics and basic support-firing and other fancy Army-words. Then again, their luck was sure to run out eventually if they kept up the reckless advance. Going hard in was cocky, and once you got cocky, you made mistakes. Mistakes got you killed, and Alexander was in no mood to die today.

"Mosi, I see. I will be sure to remember that, Madam." Mahendra said to her with a returning, friendly smile. She gave off a polite and friendly aura, which was a good sign to him; a good first impression, which he would remember to remember, as well as what she preferred to be called. He hadn't heard the name before, and he couldn't help but question why a lady called Priscilla would be called that? It would be rude to ask, of course, and Mahendra thought it best to let her explain when she saw it fit.

But he had forgotten one little detail, a special part of the social etiquette; his own name. "My apologies, Mosi, where are my manners? Mahendra Huq Zalil. No special name to call me, I am afraid, so Mahendra is good enough." Mahendra replied to Mosi, trying to be witty with that last part, but not sure if it was a success. He had been called by several names before, especially in the British Army and in England, but he preferred his real name. He was Bengali after all, and proud of it!

Mahendra turned to Jospehine - and Akhmed - for a moment, showing that he did indeed listen to her and that he was glad she felt better. The way she held around Akhmed, however, made him question in what state she was truly in. But he said nothing of it, and instead followed the other women inside to the sitting area as Nora led the way and Mosi suggested it. While some of the others sat down, Mahendra remained standing; firstly the female members of the party should be seated before he eventually did so, and secondly he didn't want to appear in need of rest. Especially not after his fainting at the museum. How embarrassing!

He did take notice of the sketching Nora did, but it would be rude to interrupt what she was doing, and so refrained from asking even for his curiosity. Instead he tried to followed the conversation between Lauren and Mosi. "It is a wonderful place, isn't it indeed? A land of beauty, history and mystery. Have you visited Egypt before, Mosi?"

The Edenites hadn't attempted to counter-attack the position Alexander had taken up at the corner, which was good for them. Them as in Angel T, Navy T and himself, and bad for the enemy, perhaps even a wasted oppertunity. Before he was reunited with Thana and Thalia, he had been by himself as the two others were off doing their own things. A well-placed suppressing fire would have kept him pinned down long enough to be overrun, but the gunfire only came from further east. The others were putting up quite the show.

Alexander turned to Thana as she once again reported that their flank was clear, and gave an approving smile to her with the magazines she offered. Alexander took two from her hand and pocketed them with his other magazine for his 9mm; he still wasn't done with his Colt. From around the corner he was certain there was an Edenite walking towards their position. Bad idea for him.

Turning the corner with the Colt pointed forward, the Edenite came into clear aim of Alexander and his gun. Before the Edenite could shoot, Alexander had already pulled the trigger twice; the .45's hit the guy right in the gut and chest, the sheer force knocking the poor bastard flat on his ass. He was no longer a threat, and Alexander moved with ease past him and into the room he had just exited.

He wish he hadn't.

If he had kept his stomach from emptying itself when he first entered the building, now he was having trouble holding in a series of emotions. The room was filled with corpses, littered around the room in different positions. Some looked to have been dead for a while, others looked like they had just fallen asleep with a really bad hangover. Except it wasn't alcohol that knocked their lights out, but drugs. Beside various corpses Alexander could see syringes and small pools of blood, and on closer inspection as he took a few more steps into the room, needle marks in the bodies' arms. This was bad. It reminded him of opium dens in the darkest parts of Saigon, or the regular drugged down G.I. in his bed that would never wake up again; some probably didn't, while others were simply unlucky. That's how their machinegunner from L.A. went out; not with a bang, but with a whimper and a needle.

This wasn't just sickening. This was evil.

Alexander slowly turned around and looked at the Edenite still lying on the floor, still alive, barely. He wasn't sure why he wasn't smart about it, but something clicked in his mind. Standing just over the dying Edenite, who looked at the old vet with a look of spite in his eyes, Alexander looked back with blank face. But his eyes, they almost burned. "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: β€œIt is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord." Alexander said to the dying man, slowly pointing his Colt at his head. "Forgive me Lord, but this one deserves it."

The bullet went straight through his head, leaving a large hole right above his eyes and blood and bits of brain flew out. Alexander didn't blink, at least not until he was done staring at the man and went back to work. Coming back into the Grand Gallery, he turned to the others and said "Clear.", before making his way out to the terrace. And as it would seem, he wasn't alone there. "Good to see you again. North-western part is clear, and I guess your end is so too?" Alexander said to Lola and Gavin, finally changing over to his 9mm instead of the Cold. It only had four bullets left in the magazine, so better switch now that he had the ammunition to spare.

It was more than understandable that the Lord Mayor wouldn't be joining them for the supper; as an officer of His Majesty's Army, he certainly had business to attend to at the local British barracks. At a more personal level, Mahendra saw why he wished to be apart from the group, gather his thoughts after the last events and wait for the other gentlemen who apparently were missing. Mahendra wondered briefly if he should remain with Reginald or not, but decided against it on the grounds of him being a subordinate in the military world, and that he probably needed some space.

Perhaps Mahendra needed some space for himself as well? He too had many thoughts in his head as they walked through the streets of Cairo; how had all of this begun, both recent and ancient events? Who were involved, and why? What part was they to play in this Greek epic? And what about himself? What had the gods and his karma decided for him? Many questions, but very few answers. The night air, albeit hot, was fairly comfortable to most people at this time of day. Perhaps more so to those accustomed to the desert or tropical heat, including Mahendra. The air freshened his mind for a moment, and as they made their way to the Garden City, he let his shoulders down and walked relatively alone for now. The Museum had been somewhat crowded, but out in the open air he could look up and see infinity. Endless, but open.

Soon however, they reached the Garden City coincedentaly at the same time as a certain cab, carrying a certain group of people. Two of which the Bengali recognized, two he didn't. The American Starlet and Egyptian 'receptionist', Josephine and Akhmed, and another pair of a man and a woman. The unknown man appeared to be well-known by Neema, who shortly afterwards followed her inside and let Nora lead them. Mahendra, not wanting to appear rude and give off a bad impression, followed Lauren as she spoke to the three others and joined the conversation. "Indeed, a good sign it is. I hope you have faired better since last?" Mahendra first said to Josephine and Akhmed, before turning to the newcomer, Mosi. "Pleasure to meet you, Miss...?"

It was surprising how fast a turtle could be when he just put his mind to it. That, and the fact that said turtle used a high-tech, self-made wheelchair with all the gizmos you could imagine! And he had oiled his wheels just before arriving in this strange, new alternate universe, so that helped too. Bentley wheeled his wheelchair to the limit as he rushed through the twining streets, heading in the general direction of Tetris Castle. But soon he heard voices on the top of a roof, sounding familiar. Slowing down to a reasonable pace, he stretched his turtle neck as high as he could to hear better. And to his luck, it was his friends from the Save Point. From what he gathered, they had caught up with their escaping eavesdropper, who turned out to be a friend of Sparx, who ALSO just so happened to want to save the so-called Spyro. Well wasn't the mathematical implausibilities just racking up?

Once the robot Charger showed up and adressed them the need to keep moving, Bentley couldn't agree more. "Agreed! The best plans are made in a saferoom...or a safe room, but rarely on roof tops! See you at the castle!" Bentley shouted to the others on the roof, before wheeling off again towards the castle. He had wanted to throw in a comment about him not being as good as them to climb, but that was better saved for later. Right now, as he wheeled his little turtle arms to the max, his mind was working on a plan.

Alexander couldn't help but shoot a quick smile at Thalia himself after she seemed fine with his work. It was an rare instance of appreciation he would cherish, but perhaps at a latter date. For now he was satisfied with her smile and turned back to the task at hand; Taking down this hellhole they called Eden. And then the radio crackled back to life, hopefully a good sign as Lola's singing. Alexander pulled up the radio and heard the voice of Beatrice...maybe? He wasn't sure. It certainly wasn't Kiwi on the radio, and it was the cowboy either, so that left the other lady, if he had gotten her name right back at the meet-up.

They were coming from the south. Which was fine by him, meaning that their 3 and 6 were - probably - covered. Their 9 too, perhaps, now that Thana was out of sight. Even if he didn't like losing sight of her, he was not too worried. But he shot Thalia a brief look of concern when he heard her swear, as if something was wrong. Sure, what wasn't wrong in this time and age, but he still wondered what she was thinking about. But he let it rest, deciding to cover her back as she went into another room and did her thing.

Shortly after when Thalia gave the All Clear, Alexander decided to push up. Little use in bunkering down when the others were on the move too. Sooner or later they would have to group up again, but that was always better on the offensive than on the defensive. So when he heard Lola's break out in song again, this time with Kool & The Gang, he found his oppertunity. Holding his Colt up and aimed down the Grand Gallery, Alexander quickly made his way down the long strip of hall. When he came to the hallway on his left side, he nearly jumped in and took cover at the wall. He heard more gunfire, but nothing aimed at him. So far he still had that fresh magazine, but soon that too would probably be empty. Luckily he still had his other gun. Hopefully that one would be just as effective.
@rivaanYeah, I'm really sorry about that. I should have put in a better effort to have finished my character, and I'm sorry for keeping this RP from taking flight.

Mahendra's mind tried to wrap itself around the various bits and pieces of information they had come across within the last 24 hours, not paying attention to the map with Vera and Nora, mostly due to him occupied with his Sherlock Holmes'ian attempt at deduction. Which he had very little chance of succeeding at, it just seemed too big for him except being a strange series of divine intervention. Deadly divine intervention, which sent shivers down his spine. Still, it didn't make sense to him with ancient, secret orders...

What caught his attention was the mention of the time. Mahendra reached into his pocket and looked at his pocket watch. Indeed it was late, and a long time since the Bengali had eaten a filling meal. He failed to stiffle a jawn coming from him, hoping it was not taken notice of in the larger matter of more serious topics in that office, before turning to Neema. "It would be a pleasure, Neema. It's very generous of you, so thank you very much. Is it far away from the Museum?" Mahendra said, looking forward to the prosect of a meal and some distance from the site of severe incidents that day.
