~ Fort Daelantine ~

Interacted with: @VitaVitaAR

Jarde's investigation yielded some interesting discoveries. The lifeless body had a tattoo on its left shoulder, a boar with golden tusks and red eyes. A mark of membership, Jarde was sure. Still, he did not recognize the emblem but it was certain that this was no Thaln soldier. The young knight went over to the other corpses and found the same tattoos, but the oldest-looking bodies had clean shoulders which probably meant they were the Thaln defenders, long killed before Alette's arrival.

"... Search... search the bodies, everyone,"
Fanilly Danbalion

The other Iron Roses went ahead and investigated, and yielded the same results. But unlike Jarde, they recognized the boar emblem and confirmed that a mass infiltration took place. One that Alette and her forces so rudely interrupted. Jarde was kind of impressed at these boar mercenaries for theamount of effort and care they put to kill and replace an entire fort's worth of soldiers. Still, that begs the question: Why?

While the other Iron Rose Knights talked to Alette the Shark, Jarde approached Captain Fanilly while watching Sir Fleuri head deeper into the fort. "While we're still not sure what Sharky's here for, we do know that these boar guys she killed are up to no good since it looks like they tried to replace the troops stationed here." He gave his thoughts on the matter. "As to why they would do this," He sighed before continuing. "All the possibilities I can think of are... pretty bad." With Fort Daelantine directly connected to the capital, Jarde feared the worst-case scenario.

"What're your next orders, Captain?"

"How can you be Reed? You're human, not plant. But how you'll be knighty at Otry? Is there a test? How does one become a knight? Can Ditzy become one too?"
Ditzy Bethlehem

"Yeah well, you're Ditzy, aren't you? Are you a ditz, then?" Reed then thought about it and added. "...You know what? Forget it."

"The knight order I'm trying to join is a special one. It's an esteemed one and they don't take just anybody. It'll be hard to get in, and even harder to stay, but I think I'll be alright." Sir Reed began to answer the seond question. "Sorry, Ditzy, but I don't think they accept monsters. They only accept humans, male ones at that. It's uhh, pretty exclusive, I admit, but..."

-

"Very well. If it so pleases you, my friend and I will take on a couple of your troupe's members. If we win or if your impressed by what you see, we request to be accepted as members! I'm sorry Ada, but things are about to get rough. Would you mind helping me out here for a bit?"
Nagare

"Hahahahaha! Just a couple? Why not all of us then?" Before Nagare could reply, the Ogre suddenly tackled the ice dragon with surprising speed. With an evil grin on her face, the Ogre clenched a fist and raised it high. The mighty punch was clearly aimed at Nagare's face, but fortunately it was slow enough for the Dragon to react.

Meanwhile, the troupe of warrior monsters brought out their weapons and engaged the guild squad. A tall Minotaur woman wielding a crude, stone hammer came at Ada, swinging her crude but powerful weapon down at the Hushabye. Besides that, a Lizardman was quickly approaching to help the Minotaur take Ada down.

"Ah, s***! Ditzy, get ready!" Sir Reed unsheathed his blade and rushed to his guildmates' aid. Alas, the rest of the monster troupe charged forward consisting of two chubby but strong Orcs wielding one-handed hammers and a Salamander with a jagged sword who was already burning up in excitement for battle.

Help, Wanted 2

"Hail there denizens! You are addressed by none other than the noble demon Vară Riemsianne, who requires your cooperation today! I'm here on an investigation involving stolen goods from the city hall, and the perpetrator seems to have broken in last night. If any of you've seen or heard anything that would aid the investigation, I demand that you speak now!"
Vară Riemsianne

The Dhampir was the first to speak, and she began with a laugh. "Hahaha! You got moxie, Demon! I'll give you that." She then gave her account. "Well, I was hanging around the town hall when the robbery happened. Uhh, don't ask me why I'm there in the middle of the night. You're probably expecting that I heard something, but that's thing: I didn't hear a single thing! You'd think there'd be some sort of weird noise in a break-in right? Like, doors being broken open, yeah?"

The old man was the next to speak. "If that was so, then I'd say I definitely saw a suspicious figure darting away from the town hall during the incident." He said. "I live pretty near the town hall and when I was out doing some night business, I saw a figure darting out of the hall and into darkness. It was night, though, so I could not get a good look at the suspect."

"Meanwhile I, heard something in the town hall." The middle-aged man spoke up. "But it wasn't of doors or walls breaking down, it was the sound of jingling armor. Like a knight running at full speed. I didn't see anything, but it was a distinct sound. It made me wonder what armored person did urgent business in the night."

Their accounts have been given and if Vară was perceptive, she could narrow down the culprit with these.

"Sure, call them out, and we promise not to attack unless we're attacked first,"
Sylvia Altissima

"Try anything funny, and..."
Vivian Altissima

"O-Okay! Okay, please don't hurt me!"

The Giant Mouse called out to her companions, saying that the Liliraune had no intention of harming them and only wanted to talk. At first, nothing happened but the rodent monster kept calling out and promised, with pinky fingers, that it was no trap and no harm would befall the group and that the sisters simply wanted to negotiate. Soon, ears and antennae poked out of the edges of the walls and doorways in the Altissima sisters' sights. The captured Giant Mouse continued to coax out her friends with promises and reassurances until the group slowly and cautiously assembled.

There were about a dozen of the Devil Bugs and Giant Mice that formed in front of the Liliraune, still keeping a bit of distance as caution. "Don't worry, everyone! This Liliraune is really, really, kind. They're willing to negotiate about what we can have in exchange for us leaving." The captured Giant Mouse said to the group, still dangling from the Altissimas' vines.

"But we don't wanna leave! It's great here!" A Devil Bug protested.

"W-Well, the Liliraune said there are powerful warriors in this place so if we stay, we might get hurt!" The captured monster replied. "They're not here right now, of course, but the Liliraune said they could chase us down if we get really stubborn." She was making stuff up to convince the group, but it appeared to work.

"Can we have food, then? Lots of food for all of us?" One of the Giant Mice asked. The rest of the dozen loudly agreed with her. "You can make food, right? Yeah, make us food!"

"Can we... can we have a man, too?" A rather timid Devil Bug made quite the demand. "Just one, though. We're not greedy, one will be enough. Even for just one night?"

"Which man, though?" The captive Giant Mouse asked.

The group looked at each other, pondering for a moment, before nodding at each other. "We want the brown-haired plain boy!" They all answered, almost in unison.

Bart was nowhere to be seen, nor were there signs of him returning to help the Altissima sisters on this conundrum. They will have to resolve this by themselves.

For The Cause
~@Rezod92, @Restalaan (YNG)~

"YANG, NOW!"
Kira Gigas

The lady knight was confused for a moment until she realized that Kira was a distraction for an ambush. Her hand went to her sword's hilt as she turned around and watched Yang leap high into the air and landed right into the middle of the Order caravan. The monk began knocking out Order soldiers left and right as she advanced towards the lady knight.

A loud war cry soon followed and the Varjan rebels descended from the cliffs and began the ambush in earnest. The Order caravan rallied and the knights in horseback charged towards the attacking rebels, lancing a few of them down. Arrows and projectiles were exchanged before the two belligerent groups clashed against each other. One of the horseback knights blocked off Yang and thrust his long spear at the monk.

"I should've known!" The lady knight drew her blade and began swinging at Kira, starting with horizontal slashes.
Hey all, I wanted to get the update out before I fly but it looks like I am unable to. The update will still be coming but it'll be delayed for a day or two.

Really sorry for the inconvenience.
@Rune_Alchemist

Hey, Rune. I'm preparing for a flight this week so I probably won't be able to post this round.

Sorry.
@LiverisGood

"Where are we going to meet after we are done with our tasks? What should Ibun and you do in the meantime? Wu says he knows how to handle generators. Are you also going to look around the facility with us or will you be helping Wu with the radio comms?"
Radiant

"We'll meet in the comms room after everyone has done their recon. But just in case anything... weird happens, we'll begin searching for anyone missing after about fifteen to twenty minutes. That's enough time for everyone to do their jobs, right?" Blizzard answered Radiant. "Me and Ibon will start looking into the radio equipment with Wu. Is there power in this place?"

"Technically, yes. But the generator's dead so we'll have to take a look at that too." Wu answered. "I'll go take a look at that myself while you handle the radioes."

"Alright, then. I believe that's all, let's move out."

---
~RADIANT~

You took the flight of stairs in the facility down to the underground bunker. Your first sight was a corridor made purely of stone and rock. However, it did not appear there were any windows to this area so it was in complete darkness save for the light coming out of the open door. Looks like you will have to--

* FLASH *

The light suddenly came on, as if it awaited your arrival. "I turned on the generator, guys! But it looks like it's just emergency power!" You hear the faint yells of Wu from the generator room.

With the lightbulbs on the ceiling turned on, you now see a corridor that stretched towards a pair of double doors at the end. On the left side were three doors evenly spaced from each other while on the right were two doors. Investigating the doors on either side, you will see a small, personal living quarters consisting of a bed, a desk, a cabinet and a sink with a mirror. The double doors at the end lead to a sizable public shower with a pair of toilets hidden in the corner.

As you investigated, however, you caught a faint whiff of a familiar scent. It came from the last door on the right, inside the cabinet of that room. Opening the wooden container revealed small, plastic pouches of plant seeds. But you recognize these seeds, these are of the same species as the ones you planted in your ecospheres back in Haynek Institute.

Quite the coincidence?

~MEDIVAC~

You took a look at the front entrance of the radio facility, a set of large double doors that lead to the main corridor as well as the back entrance, a single door that lead directly into the facility's kitchen. The doors had simple knobs on them as well as an extra lock for a slight increase in security. This place sure had a cheap budget although if one can get away with cheap, why not right? Regardless, the doors look like they could be reinforced with some boards and nails.

Taking a peek outside, you notice that there were some activity by the forest edge. You see a pack of infected dogs or wolves fighting a large Acid Orignium Slug. The snail monster spat its acid at the black-furred canines, some having its flesh dissolved by the potent liquid. However, the pack eventually overwhelmed the slug as members took opportune bites at the snail's neck.

The infected dogs were about to enjoy their meal when they noticed Medivac looking at them. Surprisingly, they made no attempt at hostility and fled immediately to the forest.
Hey guys, I'm a postpone the update again to next week since I'm quite busy right now and to give others time to post.

Sorry for the delay, everyone.

"What do you mean, 'we'? Our goals may be similar, and I cannot speak for my companion, but I have no intent of working with someone so flippant as you."
???

"... I am disinclined to work alongside one who assumes they speak for others without asking. Nor do I care much for one who clearly runs their mouth without a single moment of consideration towards their words. Spare some thought before you speak next time, or don't speak at all."
???

Nick watched as the two girls departed, too shocked to reply to the thorough rebuff. "...What just happened?" He asked Kyrnith although he never expected an answer since he very well knew what happened. It was a shame, and Nick thought that maybe he should have been more careful with his words, but what was done was done.

“...Hm. Boy. If you truly wish to antagonize these followers of this god - then the hunters within the village may be where you wish to start. I will return tomorrow, to this grove, and should the wind tell of the village’s cooperation, then I shall grace it with my presence...but for now, I must take my leave. The winds grow restless to the south...”
Kyrnith

"Alright, I'll... see you tomorrow, I guess." Nick bid farewell to the Elder Beast.

The team-up was a bust, but Nick did get valuable information from Kyrnith. The black, diamond stone was still in his hands which he promptly pocketed now that it was no longer needed for now. The Sage in the mountains, Nick remembered Kyrnith's words. He should definitely look up who this Sage guy was and see if he or she could help. Maybe the people back at Dawn knew about the figure, or at least knew about the mountain folk that revered the Sage.

Well, such plans were for the future. Right now, Nick went to find Donovan again to let him know what happened.
~ Fort Daelantine ~

Interacted with: @VitaVitaAR

Jarde and Maritza were permitted to scout the fort, spot anyone or anything that might give a clue or hint as to what took over Fort Daelantine. Alas, they spotted nothing. There wasn't even any guards or lookouts manning the ramparts. The two returned to Captain Fanilly and reported their findings, or rather, the lack thereof. From there, the Iron Roses moved in into the seemingly deserted Thanln fort through the open north gate.

Jarde walked in without his horse and his eyes widened as he beheld the sight. It was a scene of carnage, the aftermath of a battle... or a slaughter. The southern gate was busted open and around the breach were the corpses of the Thaln defenders. Jarde sighed at the amount of death around him. While he did fight the bandit group and there was plenty of death there, sights like these still gave the young Iron Rose knight pause.

Then, a surviving Thaln soldier appeared with a crossbow but was instantly killed by a spear that belonged to a pale-skinned, petite girl with dark-blue hair tied into pigtails. Her leather armor did not indicate her allegiance. A mercenary, perhaps? Jarde brandished his weapons like his fellow knights and Captain Fanilly demanded surrender. The leather-clad girl, however, replied that the corpses weren't Thaln troops despite their uniforms and emblems.

The other Iron Roses began to interrogate the girl. Jarde did not join in, figuring they got that handled. Instead, the young blonde knight silently sauntered to a nearby corpse. He would bring the corpse up, wincing at the viscera and gore, before looking for any signs that this dead soldier was no Thaln defender. Tattoos or ritual scars or marks or anything like that.

~ Kyrnith's Grove ~

“...your words are naive, but perhaps some are not entirely without merit. It is true that this grove is sequestered away from the village...but the reason is simple. It is not a place for most men to tread…perhaps constructing another nearer would be beneficial.”
Kyrnith

"I'd say that making a trail would be easier than constructing another shrine, but since your grove is just a couple of stone slabs sitting atop each other then I suppose making a new one's definitely the easier option." Nick agreed with the Elder Beast's idea. "We should probably include, like, a board with a list of directions on how to meet you and all."

"...you should start sooner, rather than later. The Sage is known to only appear to those who they deem worthy to guide, whatever such a thing means. Many have gone their entire lives searching, without seeing."
Kyrnith

"...That's reassuring." Nick sarcastically replied. "I'll try to go as soon as I can, but I'm going to stick around and help take down this God Of Knowledge guy as well as build your shrine for the village of Dawn. I mean, fair's fair, right?"

Nick then looked toward Nobunaga and Misaki. "So bottom line, we starve out the God Of Knowledge by essentially replacing him with Kyrnith, right?" He then sighed. "I doubt the Knowledge God's followers will just roll over and let us do this, though, so we'll have to watch out. Say, since we'll be working together, mind blessing me with your names? I heard that people work together better if they know each others' names."
