Alright, I'll wait for it.

'Ey guys! Like I said, I'm still tired from flying so the update will come at this weekend. I'll see you then!
Heck yeah! Time to make someone super Infected!
@Dark Cloud

Alright. Assume that Sam went along with Skarsneek. I'll edit the post later.
Updoot out! Sorry that it's a little late.

Also sorry for Shizuka not getting updated since I need Liliana's input before I can move the scene forward.

House By The River

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

The trio of monsters went forth from the temple, following the directions given to them. Their destination was a lone house by a shallow river, inhabited by a fishing family.

The taskforce trio traversed the dirt roads of the Onrai region, fortunately encountering nothing but the natural beauty of Shizuyama's flora and landscapes. As they approached the river, however, the peaceful atmosphere was broken by a panicking villager boy running up to the taskforce. He realized they were yokai, but was so desperate that he no longer cared. "You there, yokai! The Varjans have them!"

"The invaders took our house...! Just by the river! They captured my parents, but they're still there!" He told the trio as fast as he could. He was left panting, his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. "Please save them..."

This was probably the son of the villager who refused to leave his home. His house by the river was pretty big for a villager's, sporting two stories even. Beside the house were crates and boxes, hanging racks and fishing poles, all the items and equipment one needed to be a fisherman.

But more worrying however, was the group of Varjans that have currently occupied this abode. They also had a strangely large bonfire lit up in the middle of all the fishing equipment and crates. On a closer look, these were not your typical Varjan Warriors or Brigands. The warriors all wore armor tinged blue, save for some Footmen that had bows. Most of them surrounded the large bonfire while some were probably inside the house.

The taskforce trio were hidden behind an outcrop overlooking the house, but the blue-armored Varjans were somehow alerted to their presence. They quickly picked up their armaments and began to search the general vicinity. The window for a surprise attack was quickly running out.

KAGEHO, INNOCENT SHADOW

~ @Restalaan (GRI) ~

"So you in, sneaky boi? Or do I have to crack your head in too?"
Gringor

Kageho did not reply. Instead, she turned her back and began walking away. Gringor noticed that when they spoke, he and the shinobi girl were illuminated by the trees still burning from the fight. But as soon as Kageho left the dim firelight, she vanished with nary a sound of her disappearance. A strange sight to see, considering Gringor could still very definitely see the grassland and forest under the faint moonlight.

"Tell Lord Takeshi that I am in his service." Gringor heard from seemingly nowhere. "And did you really... crack Nobutada's head when you spoke to him?"

After answering the question, Gringor would hear no more from Kageho. It appeared he was successful in recruiting the shinobi girl and he can now either head back to Terauchi Temple or go somewhere else.

Terauchi Temple

With Alice simply passing out in front of them and nary an answer to their questions, Ayu could only catch the fallen Mad Hatter and noticed that she was bleeding. "Oh gods, she's wounded! M-Milord, I must ask for your help here. Can you take her into one of our medical tents and wrap her up in more quality bandages? We'll, uhh, greatly appreciate it."

"I guess I can do that." Takeshi replied as Ayu passed the unconscious Alice onto him. The young lord then carried the Mad Hatter into one of the empty tents designated for medical triage.

Laying her down on a mat, Takeshi also picked up some fresh bandages from the monks and prepared to dress up Alice. He sighed, knowing he was tending to a wounded yokai. He had already crossed the line a long time ago so he supposed there was nothing to worry anymore. "Wait..." But just as he was about to lay his hands on the Mad Hatter, he realized that he probably needed to take Alice's clothes off so he could properly administer the bandages.

The young Oja froze, a dilemma upon him. She may be a yokai, but undressing a girl as a man was just too much. Takeshi wondered if he should just return to Ayu and do this for him, but this was a favor asked of him by someone who worked hard to save his island. His honor would not accept that disgrace. And besides, who knew what might happen to Alice if Takeshi left her alone. And so, Takeshi continued to be frozen by his dilemma.

Meanwhile, Io had arrived with her Zombie retinue as well as a prisoner. She was immediately greeted by Ayu while the villager refugees paid little mind to her arrival. "Ahh, Io! You've returned! I hope your venture went well." She then noticed the Zombies and a Varjan prisoner that the Lich acquired. "We can certainly use the prisoners for information but err, I hope those Zombies you have there aren't formerly Shizuyama locals..."

Takeshi Oja was at the temple grounds, ready and willing to assist a taskforce member in their ventures. As soon as he was done tending to Alice.

I vote number 3!
Alrighty, gonna have an update tomorrow 'cause I'm gonna be flying next week and probably won't have an update up by then.

Post if you can, but no pressure of course.

General Question: Is there anyone else around Alice, aside from DMPCs? I've been refraining from moving her out of place, in cases another PC happened to see her dragging three bodies into town, bloodied and a mess.

Don't wanna disrupt the potential scene, before all PCs that could get involved make that decision, but I figure, I'll ask instead of trying to mentally sort out where everyone else is, lol

For these kinds of scenarios, if no player character participates in the scene but you want to post, simply assume that the only characters who noticed the scene are those indicated in my post. Until a player character decides to join in.

You're allowed to wait for other players to post, but I don't really encourage it.

Yeah if anyone wants to poke Io she's just going to be nerding out on her own for a little bit. Hopefully I didn't overstep anything with her making a potential second base... It's just a lich thing, you know.

No problem with that but the base of operations will change as the RP progresses. Just letting you know.
I just got Custom Order Maid 3D2. It's the best game ever!

Anyway, Timey-Wimey Ball will be sorta in effect for anyone in Terauchi Temple who still wants to converse in the previous night.

And lastly, a humble request from your GM! While I'll let your characters take on a tale alone, I'd very much appreciate if more than one character tackle a tale. And don't forget to take Takeshi if you like!

KAGEHO, INNOCENT SHADOW

"Your bossman wears woman's clothing like Nike Maiko, Miso, Miko? He sent me here to crack yer heads on why youz didn't come for the scrap at the beach."
Gringor

No one replied, nothing responded. At least, for the moment.

A minute passed when an image began to flicker in front of Gringor, illuminated by the still-burning forest around him. Then, in an instant, a girl appeared before the male High Orc as if she simply emerged from veil. The 'veil' in this case would be the seemingly empty space Gringor was gazing. Clearly, this girl employed advanced form of stealth magic.

The girl wore black attire that exposed certain parts of her pale-skinned body. Her spiky hair was just as black but her eyes were of a piercing red. Her collar covered her mouth which spoke coldly and quickly to the male High Orc. Her weapons were nowhere to be seen, likely perfectly concealed. "You have my ears, yokai. Do not waste it."

"Who are you and who is this 'bossman'? Leave no details."

Isolated House

THE COST OF IRON

"Varjan. You will tell me everything you know about these 'iron marks.' And the location of a local merchant that has one. Telling me now will be best. I have other methods if you refuse."
Io

"M-Monsters?! How are you here? There aren't supposed to be any monsters in this island!" The now-conscious Varjan exclaimed.

"And those iron marks, we give those out to islanders willing to work for us. Their names are engraved on the marks so no one else can use them." The Varjan prisoner explained, surprisingly willingly. "But those aren't exactly cheap to make. So around these parts, we just get some of the lads to watch them all day. Y'know, make sure they're actually helping us."

"Just like that pathetic merchant we had to retreat to the war camp near here since we got ambushed by these bozos." He motioned to the dead villagers. "I heard these people are related to the merchant. Heh, bet that guy's roast now."

"What? You think you can get away with an iron mark, monster? Ha! You'd be dead before you can even flash the thing at us. Stupid idiot..."

If the Varjan Brigand was speaking the truth, then there was no iron mark to be retrieved for the benefit of the taskforce and Shizuyama. Technically, Io was done with this quest and may head back but she could also continue forward and find the merchant collaborating with the Varjans to honor the dying wishes of the fallen villager. The camp was said to be near here and there were plenty of clues around for the Lich to simply track the location. Then again, maybe she should leave the merchant to his fate for betraying his homeland.

The decision would be up to Io.

Yagata Shipyard

FATAL PULSE, SHIPPING AND HANDLING

Freeing herself from her boxy prison, Liliana kicked a fallen sword at the disarmed Shizuka. Sadly, it was ignored but the warrior Fairy had more important things to worry about.

Taking to the skies in her larger form, Liliana struck the Varjans from the safety of the air. Their axes and swords could not reach the warrior Fairy and so they resorted to throwing spears and javelins at her, their Footmen archers loosing arrows. Liliana easily avoided them, and went straight for the bowmen to knock them out of the fight before focusing on the rest.

As she struck the last archer however, a Varjan leapt from the roof and crashed unto the warrior Fairy. Her momentum disrupted, Liliana was forced aground and while she managed to push off the Varjan on her, she soon found herself surrounded by a mob of angry invaders. But before they could descend upon her, the Fairy would find herself saved.

Shizuka increased the number of mirror images he had to further confuse Keith. The multiple Shizuka clones running circles around him, the mercenary was left second-guessing himself. The mercenary reacted too late when the real one ran up to him and, with magic-infused sheath, disarmed him and allowed Shizuka to reclaim his sword. "Wha--! Hey!"

As Shizuka slipped out of the fight, his mirror clones descended upon Keith who began to fight them off in the belief that one of the images was probably the real one. The azure swordsman went towards Liliana's side of the fight to aid her and rendezvous for a retreat, cutting down any Varjan in his way.

The Varjan mob was about to close in on Liliana but pulled away when Shizuka suddenly joined her. Even with the two of them, though, the taskforce duo was surrounded by more Varjans than they ever thought. Reinforcements from the docked ships had joined the fight and more boats were coming to the shipyard.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, the duo found themselves near several crates of the Nolkro drug. If they set it off, no doubt it would create a chain of explosions that, while it would annihilate the shipyard, would give them the opportunity to escape. But would they take that route, or do they have something else in mind?

Shizuyama Wilderness

THE HEAVENLY STRIKE

Terauchi Temple

A new day had come for the survivors of the Varjan invasion. The amount of refugees in the temple had increased, but the haven was nowhere near capacity. The villagers were still holding up, likely still in shock that their once-peaceful lives were so suddenly and drastically changed in such a short time. Those who were able volunteered to tend to any wounded people or prepare meals for everyone.

A man with glowing eyes arrived at the temple. The refugees who recognized him were filled with hope, smiles on their faces. He was Takamori, a warrior said to have been blessed with eyes that can see an opponent's next move. Swords on his hip and a bow on his back, he singled out Kerry from the taskforce and approached her. "Yokai. So you've desecrated one of our temples to use as your base, huh? Well, at least our people can find safety here. Let me talk to the young master first before we catch up."

A young woman with a naginata also arrived at the temple. The islanders in the temple recognized her as Sorae Tokinomiya, a formidable fighter of Clan Tokinomiya. Although, she rarely travels without her family so what became of them? Sorae found Skarsneek and the Hangai sisters of the taskforce and approached them. "Told you I'd be here. I don't appreciate our sacred temple housing yokai but I suppose you and our people need somewhere to go. I found a lead back in that inn regarding my family's killers but let me talk to Lord Takeshi first."

Later, there came a third arrival who was more familiar to the taskforce. The Mad Hatter with the Cursed Sword, Alice, came with some men with her, bound neatly with hempen rope. The refugees gasped in surprise at the sight, but did nothing thankfully and allowed Ayu and Takeshi to greet her on the temple entrance. "Miss Alice! What happened to you?! You look beat! Who are these people? Did you attack some locals?" The silver-haired woman immediately inquired.

"Hmm, these guys look like students of the Heavenly Strike technique." Takeshi crouched to inspect the prisoners. "I heard they joined up with the Varjans. Did they attack you? Well, I guess they'd still attack you even if they didn't join the Varjans..."

Takeshi Oja was at the temple grounds, ready and willing to assist a taskforce member in their ventures.

Anyway guys, I forgot to say that I may be going to the super big anime convention in LA this week so there might not be an update this weekend.

I'll still try to write the update, of course. Just... unlikely.
