Wisp
Sheila Hopkins

Rocker Warehouse

Wisp straightened her back a little hearing his summarisation, looking at him. As he had made a noise of discomfort, she adjusted the words of light so that he saw them hovering above his desk rather than inside his eyes. It would still not be visible to anyone else as she was only displaying this to Shatterpoint, but she took this measure regardless to make it more pleasant for him.

hate is a strong word
i hate the men that parted me and my parents
they’re not around anymore
i dislike you
major difference that is in your advantage

She felt a need to correct him on that particular point. But, otherwise, onto business.

and no, i’m not done
the first term was just important enough to mention immediately

So she wrote, before she moved on.

term 2, i will not act villainous
i have no desire to threaten or injure civilians
i have no intention whatsoever of clashing with heroes
so i won’t join on major heists against government buildings or individuals
i can steal, i can spy, i can spook
i can even fight if the enemies are other villains
but ask me to stab an innocent and i will stab you

Hopefully, this wouldn’t make her completely useless to the Rockers.

term 3, we are equals
meaning you don’t really have authority over me
if i don’t do what you want, you don’t pay me
but i won’t have an obligation to do what you want me to, either
if i sense any signs of my oppression, i vanish
believe me, i’m good at vanishing
and if i see any attempt to catch me, i’m gone
fairly simple
i will inform immediately if i won’t do the next mission asked of me

She did not want to be bound by a contract, and so, this term. And that was it.

term 4
is simply you tell me how you found me
for the duration of this deal, you’re required not to track me down again
but in any case
i wish to know immediately
and if i don’t learn it, i’ll simply haunt your grunts until you tell me
and believe me, you don’t want me haunting your grunts
they’ll be so terrified and anxious they’ll be useless
constantly fearing i might be right behind them

Wisp looked at Shatterpoint for his reaction before continuing.

that’s all my terms
if i don’t like a job, i’ll object
but otherwise, i can do some work for you
i can give you an edge in villain-confrontations
or just scout ahead and report back where you don’t want to send grunts
as a stranger with a knife, i am dangerous
just don’t make anyone aware wisp is on your side
in fact if you have to discuss me to figure out what to use me for, use a code-name
like ‘ghast’ or something

… That had just slipped out, but it made Wisp have to consider. What did she want to be called.

no wait
not ‘ghast’
reminds too much of “wisp”, being another type of ghost
but it still needs to be creepy

There was a pause, with Wisp considering what she’d want her villain-self to be called. Then her gaze lingered on that last word she had written.

just call me “creep”
are we in agreement?

Lataniva initially frowned when Arex began saying that he was flattered, for that didn’t make sense with what she had proposed. Then she realized what he was hinting at and her glare turned into a cold, unamused stare of I am being very patient in letting you talk to point and not just dispensing immediate punishment. At the very least, seems like his mood lifted. Which is a plus. He wasn’t about to attack someone with the negative energy residing because of what had just happened on the station anymore, though this had been done on her expanse. Which she did not enjoy.

Then Maxi refused to treat him. Then Arex tried to do things to himself but was failing clumsily. Lataniva had no intention of cleaning up for him. She had no intention to get herself involved in their feud at all, if they wanted to be like that to one another then it was no matter to her. But they were holding her up, which grated on her. Then Stryker came along and made a situation out of a situation that really wasn’t much of one. He didn’t have any intention to come in-between Lataniva and her intention, which was fine enough with her. She merely gave him a stare before turning to look at Arex again.

‘... I see now that I should not expect you to have any knowledge of Dalentian origin. Allow me to make my intention more clear.’
She said, her tone not hiding her annoyance.

‘I intend to delve into your mind and retrieve your knowledge. You are an anomaly. You have Dalentian blood, yet it acts not as it should. I desire your knowledge on the matter. Allow me to enter your mind.’
She demanded, glaring at Arex. As long as she got to say that, she was fine. Then the rest could come to any conclusions they wanted to about what they wanted to know..
Okay, I've been preoccupied long enough, let's post.

Edit: There, posted. Just wanted that out. Tell me if something's wrong with it.
@Joshua Tamashii Nicely posted. Made me want to answer.

I'm still up for answering more posts today. Haha.
@Joshua Tamashii - Night

The Phantump stared at Amelia in amazement as she described what kind of an adventure could be waiting outside the woods. It turned and looked in a specific direction, towards one of the Trevenants standing guard around the glade, which turned in turn to stare back at the Phantump curiously. Some kind of realization went through the Phantump by this exchange (”they’re not opposed to it!?”) and it then turned back to stare at Amelia with open mouth and amazement for a few more seconds. Then it made its choice.

Okay. My apologies that it took a while. I had a few things to contend with. Though, my Sunday's totally empty, so if you post before that, I will have another post up for you shortly.
@Joshua Tamashii - Night

The Phantump watched her as she fell, curiously watching the result of his attack. It simply watched with a neutral wide-eyed expression of a regular Phantump. Then… Amelia started laughing. This slowly caused the Phantump’s own expression to twist, and a smile appeared on the stump-ghost, and the Pokémon laughed lightly alongside Amelia’s laughter, it’s eyes looking a little happy. It got to share its happiness a bit.

‘Phan?’ The Phantump blinked a bit in surprise when Amelia offered it more opportunities to scare. It was something the Pokémon hadn’t even considered before. It was a bit hesitant, looking to its own followers (who looked more confused than anything else), then to Shuppet and Litwick, finally back to Amelia, staring wide-eyed for a bit. She’s going to have to expand a little bit on what she’s suggesting.

‘Sorry, that’s how things are.’ Eugene shrugged with an apologetic smile about how things were around the island, and then nodded when he was told to wait. He raised his eyebrows a bit, but otherwise obeyed the command to stay, petting one of his Skarmories as he did.

‘What?’ Yvonne was in the process of making sure her hair was alright and still stylish even after all the wind that had gone through it on the way here, but she quickly turned her eyes towards Claire when her question came. But, with the question done, Yvonne smirks.

‘Why, of course I have a Pokémon!’ She proudly announces, taking Pokéballs out of a pocket somewhere and pointing towards Claire. Three Pokéballs. ‘Three of them! With these, I will conquer all the lesser three Contest Halls of the lands, and shoot myself for stardom!’ Yvonne smirked proudly, looking at Claire. ‘But, of course, I won’t show my trump cards ahead of time to my-’ Yvonne accidentally dropped one of her Pokéballs, and her eyes went a little wide at this realization. No, wait. She hadn’t dropped it as much as the Pokéball had suddenly shot out of her grip without her permission and hit the ground. A flash lit up as the Pokémon escaped.

‘SNUBULL!’ … And a pink dog-like Pokémon on two legs jumped onto a startled Yvonne’s leg to violently cuddle it. It had red ribbons on its ears, for cuteness? Well, for a certain kind of person it was probably adorable. Probably.

Pokédex Entry #209 – Snubull, the Fairy (SERIOUSLY!?) Pokémon. It carries a scary face that frightens smaller Pokémon, but Snubull is actually a cowardly, excessively affectionate and kind Pokémon that is very popular with women for its frolicing ways. It becomes sad from Pokémon fleeing it and is known to sleep half the day.

‘J-jeff! Not now!’ And Yvonne was suddenly very busy trying to get the extremely affectionate dog off her leg. In panic, she looked to explain herself to Claire.

‘Th-this is, uh, Jeffrey! He’s, um, defending me on my quest, and is cute while doing it, supposedly…!’ She tried to explain, suddenly embarrassed, unable to get the happy dog off her leg. ‘I hate you, mom…!’

So, the two of them started moving on towards the Wet Caverns. Their travels took them, for the first time for Martin but back for Dawkin, to Route 2.

They headed for the Wet Caverns, where Dawkin had seen the members of the different teams. However, it is time for a little reminder of what happens when one tries to just cross a route without any other kinds of precautions.

‘I spy, with my little eye…!’ Announced a male voice on the side, obviously in their direction.

‘Two trainers, ripe for the pickings!’ A female voice filled in, quite obviously just as excitedly.

In front of them were two spherical balls with limbs. In front of the male was a floating grey rock, glaring angrily at Martin and Dawkin.

Pokédex Entry #74 – Geodude, the Rock Pokémon. Found in fields as well as mountains. They commonly rest, half-buried in the ground and indistinguishable from normal rocks. There are always way more Geodude around than a traveler will notice. Stepping on one by accident may trigger their rage.

In front of the girl stood a blue ball with a circular pattern on its stomach, staring like wondering what on Earth it was doing here at Dawkin and Martin.

Pokédex Entry #60 – Poliwag, the Tadpole Pokémon. It walks on two small newly grown legs, but it is much faster swimming than walking. Its damp skin is so thin, one can see its spiralling innards through the stomach, but the skin is so flexible that most fangs cannot break through it.

Well. It is quite obvious what’s going on.

Camper Larry and Picnicker Carol would like to fight!

This fight can be ignored or quick-fought if desired.
@Xandrya Well, uh. I got under the impression that Arex was going to head there immediately, but I guess not. You're obviously free to do whatever you like, no need to just stay in the room, but if you reason she stays in her room, then sure. I'm currently waiting for Grayson's and Maxi's reactions because I find them relevant to the scene, but if they otherwise tell me to I can post to hurry it along.
.... Pffffth. I'm just going to mention for anyone who posts before my time to post. Lataniva is currently giving Arex the coldest, most unamused stare in the history of cold and unamused stares.
Congratulations~

Edit: Took a while to post that, because I didn't really like the post, but I've settled for something I hope I find personally passable. There.
