Contents of the world of Magvel

You don’t need to read this page if you don’t want to, all you really need to know is Jehanna is attacking Grado, you can’t win, you need to flee with the Fire Emblem. The above two posts will do fine, this is all just extra effort of mine. That said, if you have not played Sacred Stones, you probably should.

Renais

Frelia

Jehanna

Grado

Rausten

Carcino

Caer Pelyn

That should be all. Have at it.

Currently closed, I would like to keep a small group and currently have seven interested. That said, PM me and I can keep you in mind if spots open up.

This is a Fire Emblem roleplay. While the story takes place in the world of Sacred Stones, previous knowledge of the game (or even the series) should not be necessary, I aspire to provide all the necessary information right here.

The intention is to recapture the feeling of being in a Fire Emblem storyline while in fact roleplaying your actions. This means fighting through a plot seeing everything from above, while commanding an army of characters you recruit one at a time. These characters will be provided by me and it’ll up to you to grow them into powerful fighters by letting them battle. All players will be allowed to give commands to the NPCs joining you that they will follow, but I will also play them as needed.

The adventure starts in the Grado Empire, about to be overtaken by the Kingdom of Jehanna. In the throne room Rioga will entrust a mission to someone highly trusted by the Emperor. This could be you, or we can decide otherwise. You all can play whatever characters you want, but have a reasonable reason in mind for how they will come to join the Grado party to protect the Fire Emblem from Jehanna. You will then come to be in charge of the NPCs you encounter, keep this in mind.

The plot can change depending on the characters that are created. Are you all hardened warriors loyal to Grado? Then perhaps you are assigned to protect the stone alongside the one entrusted with the mission. Are you all a bunch of trainee-class kids? Maybe the one entrusted with the stone is killed trying to flee, but s/he entrusts their mission to you with their dying breath. Maybe. How the first mission looks depends very much on what characters and preferences you all have.

Do post your character in the OOC first to be accepted. After I have accepted the character you may go ahead and post it in the Characters Section. Not before that.

In an age long past... evil flooded over the land. Creatures awash in the dark tide ran wild, pushing mankind to the brink of annihilation. In its despair, mankind appealed to the heavens, and from a Blinding Light came hope.

The Sacred Stone.

This glorious treasure held the power to dispel evil. The hero Grado and his warriors used the Sacred Stone to combat evil’s darkness. They defeated the Demon King and sealed his soul away within the stone, which started to glow with a demonic fire. This fire caused the stone to be known as the Fire Emblem. With the darkness imprisoned, peace returned to Magvel.

But this peace would not last…

For some 800 years, a quiet peace has reigned in the absence of the terrible darkness. The Sacred Stone has been passed from generation to generation under the command of the Five Heroes. Each of the Five Heroes had a nation built around their power and their legacy.

The Kingdom of Renais, which today is ruled by Ginnava, the noble Paladin Queen.
The Kingdom of Frelia, which today is ruled by Kennard, the cunning Sky King.
The Kingdom of Jehanna, which today is ruled by Sion, the King of Red Sands.
The Theocracy of Rausten, which today is ruled by Edan, the Celestial Emperor.
The Grado Empire, which today is ruled by Rioga, the respected Court Emperor.

These five countries house the powers of the five heroes. They are joined by the emerging mercantile Republic of Carcino. In times of peace, tales of the past conflict has drifted into legend, and memories of the ancient dark arts, or how the Sacred Stone came to be, has all but disappeared. The stone now rests in Grado Keep, where it has been deemed the safest.

The year 808 an earthquake of before unseen scale shattered the nation of Grado. The natural disaster left the grandest nation reeling in its wake, with the other nations sending the support it could. The then emperor, his children and the Sacred Stone was safe, but much of the nation needed assistance. The king and the other nations provided what they could, but a new disaster was affecting all of Magvel…

Ancient fiends, monsters, dark creatures. They came from nowhere in the wake of the earthquake, and appeared in all nations at once. Their strength was weak compared to that of human military, but it was a fact that the people was no longer safe. Grado itself took the worst blow, with little military to spare after the disaster, they had to depend on the troops of others to survive.

Three hundred years passed. No solution to the monsters was found, but they were manageable in numbers. No town now went without protection, the people have been forced to accept the threats around the world. However, occasionally a force of greater strength emerged, wiping a village or company from existence. People live in fear, and they have grown tired of every day dreading an attack. They seek something to blame, something to end it all, and a report from Rausten gave them one…

A paper from an esteemed Bishop in Rausten said destroying the Sacred Stone containing the Demon Lord, the Fire Emblem, would vanquish the enemy. The dark researchers of Grado knew the fallacy of this claim and defended, but the idea had been instilled into the people. The already damaged Grado took critical blame from all corners of Magvel, and it was clear that a change would soon take place.

However, nobody could have predicted just how such a change would take place.

It is now the year 1106…

The Kingdom of Jehanna, flourishing from mercenary business all over Magvel due to monsters, invaded the Grado Empire. King Sion allegedly acted on the papers of Rausten, in order to destroy the Sacred Stone to end the monster threat. With their military still recovering and with Jehanna’s mercenaries spread across key locations of the nation to support against monsters, Grado stood little chance.

Emperor Rioga cannot answer Sion’s demands to hand over the Fire Emblem, as its destruction would free the Demon King. At the same time, he cannot face Jehanna’s troops. He has no choice but to use all his strength to delay while a smaller unit attempts taking the stone out of Grado, towards safety. But he cannot hold them forever. Grado will fall… It is inevitable.

To the OOC for plot and information.

Jehanna’s forces were invading. Even the best defenses Grado can muster are insufficient. Even as Emperor Rioga prepares to defend the Sacred Stone with all his might, he realizes that there is no way they can win. Yet, the Fire Emblem has to be protected. So, with a last desperate attempt at saving the world from a horrible fate the Emperor calls <> to his throne room in order to entrust them with an important mission…

@Eklispe Yeah, nicely posted. You and Joshua can go ahead, now.

@Pirouette Nicely posted. Now, then. I'll make these battles be fought like multiple trainers earlier, you give the strategy and then move on. I feel like that is the best way to not have it take forever to play, heh. Of course, in more important matches we'll play like normal, unless players ask otherwise I suppose. Heh.
@Eklispe@Joshua Tamashii

After the understanding that he cannot nibble on the Miltanks finally got into the small dinosaur’s head, Tyrunt instead got interested in Amelia. He turned trying to face her and push his big head and nose at her, and did so with pretty impressive strength for his size. If he got that far he’d also playfully attempt nibbling at her, not the same bitey nibbling he was trying on the Miltanks but more playing nibbling while looking happy. Happy little dinosaur trying to nibble at her.

Meanwhile. Kristy looked curiously at Dawkin and then smiled widely at his question of wanting Tyrunt back.

‘Naaah. I mean, we do keep track of ancient Pokémon, but right now I was more interested in keeping them out of her hands. Did you get attached to him? If so, feel free to keep him~’ Otherwise she’ll take him off your hands.

‘I hope this hasn’t made you rethink from coming to Raremine Town! I swear, it’s a happy place! And if you want to come challenge my Gym, I’ll be more than happy to face you! Now I got a haul of ancient Pokémon to see to. So I’ll see you later~!’ Unless Dawkin or Amelia felt they had reason to stop her for anything for her, Kristy jumped back up on her Claydol, giving a final little wave before she and the Pokémon sunk back through the same hole they came from before sealing the hole shut again with what seemed to be Claydol’s psychic powers.

If either wants to keep the Tyrunt, then he’d totally be in on it. Because this is more interesting than all the closed-in space he was at previously.

After that, Dawkin and Amelia were on the eastern part of Route 6, free to move again.

Connected areas:
More Route 6. West is a vast plain that seem to stretch on endlessly, locked between the mountains of Mt. Chill and the cliffs of the southern sea. Eventually leads to Lakewatch Town.
Route 8. In the north lies a comparatively pleasant cliffside walkway with hilly terrain and wondrous view, leading to Freecape Town.
Stalford’s Ferry. North-east, to take a ferry across Route 16 towards Witchpeak City. The only pleasant way across Route 16 is onboard a ferry, but even then…
Raremine Town. A town of miners and researchers that study what the miners find. Also a stop for those who want to travel the desert!

‘Oh, and the Grass-type very often makes use of status-changing moves that make your life difficult. If you wish to take on the Grass-type Leader, you best keep this in mind and perhaps have a plan of action should you find these used against you. Good luck!’ The Gym Guy continued briefly, because there was something relevant to say which he forgot earlier.

Now, then.

Erika headed for the “treehouse”. It was a large building built around a big tree, circular in shape and impressive in height (basically, the bigger building in this image). with a large stair leading up to it. Heading in, she reached a large reception-area where there were multiple doors to wherever you were assigned to battle, a receptionist awaiting behind a desk and trainers about talking about various things with one another. It quickly became clear that the average age of local Pokémon Trainers around here was fairly young, something about battling didn’t entirely appeal to the adults of the village. That said, there were numerous Aroma Ladies and outsiders here. Anyways. To the receptionist.

‘Welcome! This is the Treehouse Arena. At the start of each battle, you select three of your Pokémon to engage the opponent with. You can select any of your Pokémon, even if they’re in your storage. Between each battle you will have your Pokémon healed, and then you can switch what Pokémon you want to fight with for the next battle. You battle at the minimum three opponents regardless of if you win or lose, and after that you continue until you quit or are defeated! At the end, you’ll be given berries, more the more you won! To enter, write what kinds of berries you’d like on a card, and pay 350P to start! You won’t earn any money from the trainers you battle here, but you can look forward to a bunch of berries! Would you like to enter?’

@Rune_Alchemist I posted for you. Tell me if I'm terrible, heh.

@Pirouette I'll post for you within a day if you post soon enough. Heh.

Edit: Er. Got grabbed for an event. Will not be able to post within a day. Maybe two days? XD
@Rune_Alchemist

Ritz was successfully healed with the Super Potion. He’s back at full health.

Anise eventually came back. She had a couple new red spots on her arm and cheeks and her clothes were somewhat dirtied, and overall looked pretty roughed up. She had not been victorious.

‘… *mumble* Steel-type…’ she muttered. Despite this, walking a few inches behind her was a quiet little Riolu looking up at her curiously. After having sat down to rest, Anise turned to Riolu and started talking to him silently and calmly in a little personal discussion, mostly comprised of Anise talking and Riolu watching her and nodding occasionally.

Meanwhile, on Claire’s side.

Ralia’s “recruitment” on top of Del was a smashing success, on account of these Fighting-Pokémon being really curious and a Ralts on top of a Beedrill calling for their attention was extremely new. If only because it was different and to see what happened, and perhaps because it was fun, they followed the commands. Lure and Ritz also got some curious looks. One of Zeal’s brothers might try to jump up to say hello. Just because.

Zeal and Claire got into watching whatever was on the disk. The video is of a Lucario systematically punching a huge boulder. With each punch, the next punch got stronger, the indents into the rock growing larger and larger before the boulder finally broke apart, shattering into a thousand fragments with an impressive blow. To Claire, this was merely a video.

To Zeal, however, he felt how something imprinted to his mind, like the device somehow connected to him. Somehow, he felt muscle-memory form for a move he had never performed before, knowledge of how to perform this specific technique, and all the intricacies that followed. He could be confident that he could perform the move flawlessly should he now attempt.

Zeal learned Power-Up Punch!

The Pokédex gave a “ptff” sound and smoke came out of the slot. The TM has been consumed.

What does Claire do now? Anise seems to basically just be resting after also being roughed up by a Pokémon.
