I started ATLA late, around Covid. But I love the first series and think TLoK is pretty good despite some problems

Current Projects/Freelance work

  • I am a voice talent and script writer for Faerun History
  • I have a much smaller personal Youtube channel that I use to make videos on various subjects. Only been making videos for 2 years, but it's growing!
  • I'm the host of a Science Fiction & Fantasy Podcast where I interview authors of the genre.

Interests (Includes but is not limited to)

  • Writing/Reading (Love writing and I own too many books)
  • Video Games (Been a gamer for close to 23 years now)
  • Working Out/Martial Arts (Wing Chun/Oyama Karate mostly. Some historical swordplay as well.)
  • History (Military History is my specialty)
  • Zoology
  • Art (Mostly Illustrations. Used to be good. Am picking it back up)
  • Voice Acting/Singing
  • Tabletop Gaming (Started late in the game. Been at it for 3 years. I was the kid who bought the monster manuals and D&D books just for the lore for the longest time. I've played 3.5e, 5e, Star Wars D20, Edge of the Empire, PF, and PF2.)
  • Weaponry of all kinds
  • Anime (mostly action/shonen. DBZ & YYH being my favorites)
  • Movies (Action/War/Drama films being my go-to)
  • Music (Rock of all kinds, as well as historical folk songs, sea shanties, pub songs, a bit of classical music, etc)
  • Guitar (am learning to play, but being left handed makes it challenging)
  • There's more but if you care enough you can PM me :P

Roleplay F.A.Q.

  • Fantasy, Sci Fi, and Historical are my genres. Fantasy being my favorite and Sci Fi/Historical being close seconds.
  • Advanced / Nation / 1x1 / Casual (only in certain circumstances)
  • I generally write at the 'Advanced Level' meaning 4+ Paragraphs with good grammar.
  • I am usually busy with many projects and RPs, but if you wish to do a 1x1 with me, you'll need to present your case. Those I already do it with have my trust as a Roleplayer.
  • I love many, many fictional universes so me trying to list them all is an effort in futility!

Many men in Marienburg would have considered it some sort of lovely dream to walk in on their beautiful lover straddled by an ethereal and graceful woman such as Elspeth. But Cyrdic was much more old fashioned. That, and the fact that Elspeth was a vampire and Cyrdic was enraged by the idea of such an abomination getting near his Camilla was a complete turn off.

"To arms!" Elspeth called in a clarion clear voice after she had shoved Camilla into the bed, "Kill the intruders!"

Cyrdic had missed her with his initial swing, but the wolfish ferocity of his movements had him leaping toward the bed even as the Vampire called for aid. "Come on, girly," he breathed, lifting Camilla up and over his shoulder. Luckily for the Tilean courtesan, once her wits were about her she was in reach of Cyrdic's pistol, and she still had her own.

The Imperial held his sword toward the Vampire defensively, though for the time being she seemed content with staying put. A brettonian cry behind Cyrdic brought him back to his senses, and he whirred around, his sword catching the rapier of a gentlemen that had thrust at Camilla, barely missing her due to Cyrdic's movement.

His next slash was caught by the rapier, though the strength of Cyrdic's swing still disarmed the man. The gentlemen cried out, and Cyrdic's next punch had him floored. The Ostlander ran out of the room, seeing a swarm of eager suitors running down the hallway towards them. Ricardo shook his head, as if he was attempting to wake from a particularly nice dream. "Camilla? Cyrdic?"

You'll do fine. You're a smart girl^^. Plus college is easy as fuck. Everyone there is more scared than you.
Neil hopped out of his chair as well, stretching as she did. If Junebug noticed, Neil was quite flexible with his stretching. He bent himself an impressive amount backwards, before pushing off the wall and raising his hands above his head to complete another stretch, giving a grunt. "Welp, time to kill some time, eh Captain?" He asked her, giving a smirk and a subtle wink as he strode past her into the cockpit access corridor and out into the main corridor.

He let out a breath, his cheeks filling up with air beforehand. The wires on the walls seemed very much intact and in order, though it looked oddly enough like a type IV ship rather than most Freighters being a V model. It made him wonder just how the engines of the sublight variety were wired, and he shrugged when he realized there was nothing better to do.

He guessd he could play cards or get drunk with the Captain, or both. But maybe they should save that for later. He had a feeling if he beat her, or if the drink led to other things, she'd hit him after the fact either way. Maybe they could have some fun after the first mission, or maybe cards were good after this. But for now, he was curious on the ship.

The charming young pilot made his way into the sub-optimal engine corridor, and then found himself within the hatch. Kneeling down, he opened up the panel where a large number of the wires lined on the walls met and coalesced into what to the untrained eye appeared to be a mess of strings. Neil turned on the comms. "Hey Captain. Can I call you Junebug or does it have to be Captain? Also do me a favor, and stay in the cockpit if you can. I need you to tell me if a certain light turns on up on the display. It'll be the sub-light beacon, but don't worry it's not starting in warp space."

Kayden acquiesced to her turning his offer down. He shrugged, and told her he'd see her on the road before he set his mare off on a trot. The Knapp creek seemed a fine enough route, though Kayden didn't enjoy how close the trees were when it came to their proximity toward one another and the road. He had traveled enough to know a potential danger when he saw one. Hell, he'd been the potential danger a few times, when the contract was good enough.

Kayden glanced back at Wren speaking to the one called Aldrich, and he raised an eyebrow at them. "I certainly hope they pay attention to the road," he breathed, somewhat jokingly. He enjoyed the small quip to himself every now and then, and he turned back around just in time to see a rustle in the bushes up ahead. Immediately his ears perked, and his gaze grew more severe. But he did not cry out, instead motioning Sigmar to ride a tad closer. "If I am not mistaken my friend, we have a small group of Goblins watching us."

He didn't draw his sword, but he knew they often used throwing spears and short bows on the onset of an attack, if that was indeed what they were planning. He didn't know Goblins to barter or mince words.

In the grimdark future of the 2nd millennium, there is only SAD.
Herold had thought he would have gotten used to the chaotic warp magic of the Psyker, but feeling the tingle of his skin and the odd feeling in his gut, he knew he had been mistaken. The explosion of the gun and the Ork was well placed, but it had announced their location a bit too much for his liking. Still, unless the Sororitas ordered him to unload his combat shotgun into the Psyker, then they were stuck with her still. He could tell that the others had to visibly hold themselves back from what he was just considering.

"Agreed," Herold said to both Aviza and the Death Korp trooper. "Let's get moving." He made sure for the umpteenth time that his weapon was locked and loaded, and he started to head out of the room they were in with the others. He kept his shield on his back to guard against flanking shots, and his shotgun in his hands and at the ready. He had an inkling feeling that the explosion was about to bite them in the ass somehow, but Emperor's mercy, they'd see soon enough.
No worries, my friend! Questions always welcome. My Medieval Arms & Armor article I'd rather PM's to keep it professional, but here it's far more open so don't hesitate^^

And why did you drop Kyokushin?

As for your questions, I'll start with your last one first. I didn't drop Oyama Karate because I was dissatisfied with it, though I've often wanted to go the Kung Fu route initially. I was fortunate enough to have karate as an option for a physical fitness course in college, and when I saw that I took it immediately because I worked out night's anyway. I do still have the book for it though and use what I learned in routines.

So what's your other martial arts along with Wing Chun?
I've only taken classes for Wing Chun and Kyokushin, but I've read and watched videos on numerous other martial arts and I try to practice their forms. I've added some Tae-Kwon-Do, Kick-boxing, and some (I know I am misspelling this) Sai-li fu Kung Fu. Tae-Kwon-Do is fairly similar to most forms of Karate however, so it's not entirely too hard.

Where and/or how do you train, could you give us info on that like how often you do it and what the regimen is like?
I admit I've slacked off recently because I am now living in a single room rather than having a house to myself like I was used to. But since January 2016 I've often done my forms in...well, let me find the correct spelling for these.

I do my Siu Nim Tau set, which sets you in the mindset and unconsciously gives you some small training and motions. Then Chum Kiu, which is very similar to Siu Nim Tau but it focuses more on knee blocking and using the elbows. I practice punching from the center line, and then my Wing Chun grappling maneuvers (which are not what you'd expect. I'd need to make a video to show people at some point).

Then I would go from Southern Kung Fu to Japanese, with Kyokushin practice. Mostly kicks, first with one foot on the ground, and then I would practice by jumping. Then I would practice by jump kicking, and then jumping once more on one foot to prepare for an opponent dodging and ducking under to sweep my leg out from under me. I'd then practice various other forms, mostly a mish mash of techniques, depending. If there is a pole or punching bag around, lightly strike them with your shin, knees, elbows, etc. Muay Thai condition is very good.

I always take to heart what Bruce Lee said. "I don't fear the man who has practice a thousand kicks, but the man who has practiced a kick a thousand times." Also stick with what you know before you explore. But once you take 6 months of Wing Chun, you can easily self train, if you're dedicated.

It's also good to do push ups on your fists, if you can. Do the punching exercise in the article, and after a month or two of that, do your push ups on your fists.

And you do these every night with your work outs, if you're diligent enough. Though I've currently hit a peak and am waiting to get back into my Wing Chun classes to continue (dojo moved so we had no location for awhile).

Also I did some sword and staff training as well, though those would be hard to describe lol. Martial Arts regimes are pretty good cardio before a work out.

I would often train in a living room or even outside if I can. I enjoy training when it's dark. Also if you're ever doing drills, find a form in the dark and continue to strike at its location. Makes you more coordinated.

The best advice I can give you is take a class for half a year, and then go from there on your own. You can explore different forms once you've become acclimated.

@DeadDropGenerally after work everyday, Monday through Thursday. So 4 times a week, which coincides with my diet as well. Eating healthy on the weekdays, and then allowing myself to rest and slack off on the weekends.
You know, poverty is bad.
I am one of the people at fault. Been super busy recently, and will post for Kayden soon tonight!
