Sya had worked for many hours in the eye, been several times to the market and borrowed numerous tools to craft her items. Protective amulets that contained everything up to her own blood, each one was hand made and she had 3 of them. One matching pair of egg shaped amulets, each one crafted to form perfectly with its partner. The metal was not expensive, limited but she had shaped each one by hand, sacrificing time and sleep channeling her emotions into each item. These made her giggle as she crafted them with great relish and interest in the plan working. If this did not work she might have to lock them in a tower with no mage books, one bed and clear instructions. It beat marrying that over dressed peacock!

The second was made in a more traditional style carved from a hardwood dark as night and a small bright white soft stone, carved with a precise single rune on a leather cord that was made out of some acquired from Ivar. The form was not the entire thing, it was something more about the process.

It was a determined Sya who slithered out the eye with the amulets hanging from her wrist to the gathering people seeking out 3 in particular. Orion. Eris and Nathaniel. She wore her new white Eastern Aurelian style dress she acquired from the tailor, Sya was a little nervous though as she approached her first person she wanted to protect. Sya personal fear of the blight lands ran deep.

The town square was packed with people, carts, horses, everything for a full expedition had been made ready from sages to guards in full armour layered with leathers and more to shield them from harsh weather. The tall female guard seemed to be taking an interest in the priestess, Daphne, her guest, whom she had sent each of them off with a good breakfast before they departed including some of her more premium items.

The Head of the group where she saw Lord Coswain and several others of importance… yes, Sya made her way to that group to find Orion to pass on her amulet of protection. “Onion… Orion, Vi need to give vou zomething” Sya called out, her Borderland aspect growing stronger as she made herself heard over the noise.

He heard her before he saw her, her accent cutting clean through the noise of the square with the same cheerful disregard for discretion it always had. Orion turned from the group he’d been speaking to, and something in his expression changed. It wasn’t quite a smile but a softening, there and then managed.

"Lady Sya." He stepped away from the group by a few paces, his gaze falling to the amulet she extended toward him. Handmade. He could tell at once. So, he accepted it with deliberate gentleness, turning it once between his fingers before closing his palm around it.

"I owe you a letter." The directness of it was as close to an apology as Orion generally permitted himself. "I hadn't forgotten. There simply wasn't a moment I could give it the attention it deserved." With everything from Aleksi to the interviews and now the expedition into the blight lands. "When I return then," he added, and left it unfinished, unwilling to make a promise he refused to dress up as certainty.

His thumb moved once over the surface of the amulet. "Thank you for this. I'll keep it close." A pause, and then, with something almost wry at the corner of his mouth: "You made for others, I imagine?" It would be just like her to do that.

Sya handed it over carefully and gave a slight surprise at being addressed as Lady Sya, but it had a nice feeling about it. Especially as some would have an utter fit when they found she had been named a lady, treated with respect and kindness… She dropped the small amulet into his hand, surprisingly for its size as she used a dense hardwood and a local soft but clean stone with very little flaws.

“Vi can forgive you, long as Vou stop vy to say hello when you can. Voy are good egg, Vou, Kira, sister Eris, all good egg.” Sya said, she could not blame him too much being the Prince's deputy for all intents must bring a nightmare. Running the Inn kept Sya busy, and that was not a whole town. “Vou will return.” Sya said more firmly with her accent becoming more pronounced into the borderlander. “Vi can translate vor mountain clan. Close to vy own. I van helps.”

"I'll make a point of it," Orion said, and meant it. The offer of translation, however, drew his attention more sharply. "That may prove more valuable than you know. I'll remember that for future negotiations." His eyes met her own for a moment, direct and genuinely attentive. "Thank you, Sya."

Sya shifted, her tail growing more protective and waving a little nervously, her body language and her mood were directly linked and hard to hide. “It protect. Must be made, never vy other. it for clan, but. I have no clan now. So I give it Vou. Protect vou from dark ember land after vour soul.” Sya said and wrapped her hand to curl his hand around and make a point of it. “Alvays wear it.”

“I vade 2 others. I not sleep, to vake. I hope they help vith other things…”
Sya said with a tone of mischief and a glitter to her single large eye. Sya wanted Eris to find someone worth the sage, and not a rotten yolk whose shell was over-decorated.

Sya did something bold, Sya and very much in line with the snake woman's somewhat strange nature. She leaned up a little unsteadily on her tail and used him for balance before she closed one large eye and kissed him on the lips before backing off with an entirely Sya look of satisfaction. “Zat. Is vor luck.” Sya said, turning with a Sya-like motion utterly silently and smooth as running water, giving his leg a gentle tap with her tail as she turned away.

By the time Orion’s mind had finished figuring out what had just occurred, she was already retreating.

"For luck," he said quietly to her back. The words emerged flat but not unkind, and he stood there a moment before turning back toward the group. His expression had already settled. Whatever had just happened, the square hadn't noticed anyway or, more charitably, had possessed the good sense to pretend otherwise.

Sya was feeling rather happy with herself, a smug snek she could say with a more rhythmic wiggle of her tail as she left. A little more sway and people would probably swear there was a little glow to her eye as she looked at him, smiled and was lost in the crowd with a glittering of blue scales and a pretty white and blue Aurelian eastern dress, so that bit different among all the heavy expedition clothes. Sya was not a person who hid her emotions, desires, or really felt much shame about expressing how she felt directly.

Her new changes had made that hopeless as her tail was practically an 12 foot or so emotional billboard for how the in keeper felt.

That and Sya felt…useful. Proud… She could help with the mountain people and do something useful while everyone was away. The mountain clans, Ivor’s people and others always felt a little more like they could relate a little more.

She made her way a little further down the column to find the sages, her tail tucked a little tighter to avoid knocking people over. “Erissss” Sya called out and moved smoothly forward searching for her friend and Nathainal. Sya had mischief to accomplish.

“Yes?! I’m here, one seco—”

The lead Sage sucked in a sharp breath as her shoulder clipped the sharp edge of a cargo cart, causing her to stumble sideways from the pure force of it. She’d spun around too quickly, instantly alert at the sound of her name — buzzing with frantic energy.

Rubbing her stinging shoulder and holding back a grimace, Eris scanned the crowd for who had called for her. Luckily, it didn’t take long to spot Sya slithering through, blue scales shimmering against torch light. A warm smile found its way to her lips, the deep bruise forming on her shoulder nearly forgotten.

“Sya. I’m glad to see you before we leave.”

Hearing the sound of a thud from the cart, Nathaniel let out a small sigh. He knew what the cause of it was, Eris. Nathaniel had already made a log of some of the supplies, a log that he was currently double checking. He assumed that Eris was also doing the same thing. Was this the third or fourth time she had checked this cart alone? He couldn't remember.

He put away his checklist before turning round the cart to see what part she hurt herself this time. She had already bumped or tripped over things as she would rush through checking carts and supplies. When he arrived at the tower early, Penelope was waging war with Eris refusing to let her out of the tower. It was only when Penelope saw Nathaniel coming in she pointed at him saying she's your problem now boy. Whatever that meant.

”Do I have to shadow you so I,” his playful tone halted as he turned and saw Eris stood with Sya. ”Oh hello Sya, what brings you here. Come to see us leave?

Sya smiled when she saw the two she exactly went to look for… but Sya hoped to create the chance for Eris to get a good man, who would make her a happy clan and have healthy younglings to carry on her name and clan forward. No sister would form a clan with such a rotten Yolk as the Peacock. Weak clan. No sister deserves that.

Sya was careful in her exuberance to not wrap her tail round Eris, knowing she seemed less open about that kind of thing and returned her greeting with a hug before pulling back, and giving Nathaniel a little curtsey on her tail dipping a little and broke the decorum entirely by giving him a peck on the cheek.

“Ssssister Eris, Nathaniel.” Sya said thankfully as she greeted them with a happy flick of her tail, her worry overpowered by fact she found them. “Vy had to see vou, Vou will be safe. Vou will protect her. Vou will both home safe.” Sya said as a statement more than a question as if any other outcome was unthinkable. “vy had to give gift before you before vou enter Ember Mirk.”

She gently placed a little shakily an amulet in each hand made of metal on a leather cord, a matching pair with an intricate rune of protection carved into the metal with great care that mirrored each other in two halves of a wider runic pattern. “I vade this…” Sya began before pausing and finding her words again. Eris’s brows rose in surprise as she turned the oval shaped amulet over in her fingers, examining the craftsmanship. “Zey protect, you vy clan now, much work. Lose sleep. Vust always gifted and made with sacrifice.” She said and hoped they understood how much Sya had into her creation, care, emotions and more.

“Zey are special. Vy Fader taught me.” Sya said in a way that implied mischief but also a lot of care and efforts had been involved. Special as in the chosen runes yes, Sya was glad she took a great interest in the items her father had made for her mother and sat by them as he explained each part and why it was important. He had passed on their clan tradition to his daughter.

“These are wonderful, Sya. I’m impressed that you made them yourself!” Eris beamed, noting the jagged right edge of her oval, as if it were incomplete. Her gaze flicked to the amulet Nathaniel had been given. On the left side of his, a jagged edge to match.

Eris’s smile faltered only slightly before she forced it back onto her lips.

“Pair. If vou touch, Ember have harder time with Vou, it vants vou, vust never let it lure you. Sleep safe, it protects dream from Embers fire.” They did that without holding hands, or better yet cuddled together but Sya did not think it would hurt to tell a little lie. Well Sya deeply believed they did anyway, she genuinely and surely believed the old runes still would protect her friends that she considered her weird clan of a sort, no matter where they came from and how no blood was shared.

Eris could feel the heat rising in her cheeks. Sya had never been one for subtlety, had she?

Nonetheless, it was from her friend, crafted with love and care — a warm reminder of this strange place she had called home over the last few months. And if it were truly a protection charm, then Eris would gladly take it.

Nathaniel gazed in awe at the fine craftsmanship of the charm. A small smile etched on his face ”This is incredible Sya. Thank you.” curious, he caught a glance at the charm that Eris had; it was the exact opposite shape of his as if they were two pieces of the same. It was then he caught Eris’ gaze on his own charm, their eyes meeting for only a heartbeat.

“Thank you, Sya.” Eris said as she put the amulet on, tucking it safely behind the warmth of her heavy coat. “That means a great deal.” She paused, meeting her eyes with Sya’s large one. “I’m sure we’ll be safe.” She wasn’t sure at all. The heavy knot of anxiety in her chest said otherwise. “And before you know it, we’ll be having tea and I’ll tell you all about what I saw out there.”

”I agree.” Nathaniel said putting the amulet on. ”We'll keep each other safe.” he paused for a moment. ”Eris we'll have to see what our charms looked like together.” looking at the situation. Nathaniel smiled. Courteously, Eris returned it.

”I'm going to let you two talk in private. I'll double check some more of the supplies. Take your time Eris. he said to his fellow sage then turned to Sya. ”Thank you once again Sya.” and with a turn, Nathaniel went to a different cargo cart to check its contents.

Sya was nervous about her gifts and how they would be received, each was much effort, her own family's crafts and passed down honour. Strangers, but those Sya saw as Family. Her eye brightened up and her tail made a happy wave and was more active with a swish motion in the air. She was happy with the situation. “Zanks” even Sya said with a blush at Nathaniel on her pale skin at the compliment from the sage.

She saw Eris was trying to reassure her but Sya knew the blight in a way the other two did not, she had lived, died, been changed by it, twice and also could try to break her. Sya would only truly feel happy when Eris was home having tea with her and making her blush trying to get her to admit what happened besides the sage research.”Yes, Tea for Vure, I even tell vou who I kissed earlier over tea. Good abs too..” Sya said with a look of utter mischief. Eris would have to come home for that gossip.

Eris raised a curious brow, an amused smile lifting the corner of her lips. She realized then that she’d actually miss Sya — all her antics included.

The Lamia innkeeper smiled at their interaction, oh she was far from stupid or just some monster they called Sya.. She definitely noted that they were not a couple but also not impossible for it to be so if they chose to. They seemed a good fit. She could not hide that smile that was subtly derailing a certain peacock's plans. Sya did not fight so loudly or brash as an angry lion. She was more quiet, more careful and more precise.

She took Nathaniel's hand in her own smaller one, arm bare with an iron ring on her bicep. The blightborn in her dress did not feel the cold like them, in their heavy coats. Well felt it but it did not harm her. “I trusssst you with my sister.” Sya said softly and she meant it.

Nathaniel paused, feeling Sya’s small hand in his own he looked into her singular eye as what seemed like a plea. He smiled ”I'll do what it takes, to keep her safe. And we'll be back before you know it.” This seemed to ease Sya's worry as she let go.

Eris tore her gaze from Nathaniel and returned to Sya, pretending to ignore the flash of heat burning at her cheeks again.

Letting him leave Sya turned fully to face Eris, moving fluidly and spun on the spot with an ease. Sya was unsure how it worked but it all just…did naturally. “Erisss…” Sya said and paused, unsure what to say.

“Ze… Ember… its..more. it tried to lure me, make me lose everything when my home fell, become beast. Nathaniel help anchor, vou help him. Together like boat tied to shore. Voices, try, ignore. Do not follow, stay camp at night. Please.” Sya said wrapping her friend and named sister in a hug, Sya rarely was this serious with Eris, a little weird. But Sya had to tell her secret now. The blight had turned Sya, tried to lure her into it's claws, the blight was to Sya anyway more than just dead trees and ruins.

Returning the hug, Eris wrapped her arms tight around Sya. She closed her eyes, trying her best not to be overtaken by the emotion welling up in her chest. This wasn’t goodbye, she tried to tell herself. She’d returned. They’d all return. They had to.

“Plus he looks very fit, handsome. wrapped in strong man's arms…my Gendry i lost was farrier, very strong, it vas shielded in sleep. First kisssss I had to tip toe as he held me…” and of course, Sya had to get distracted and well, be Sya. But treated her like her sister with no secrets. Maybe drop Eris a hint too.. Sya was subtle…Sya thought so. But Sya was.. Sya

Eris stepped out of the hug, forcing a faint smile despite her emotion knotting into dread. For a breath, she only nodded and took in the sight of her friend. Sya had been through so much. Not only with the blight, but in her life before it. Somehow, she knew how to remain positive and effortlessly playful. Eris wished she knew how to do the same.

The fate of the world rested heavy upon Eris’s shoulders.

She knew what Sya was alluding to, but the idea of entertaining it… dread turned her stomach.

“I’ll be sure to stay with the others. Thank you, Sya.” She briefly bowed her head in gratitude. “We’ll see each other soon.” She glanced toward the cargo cart that Nathaniel had disappeared into. “I should get back to it….”

Gaze returning to Sya, her smile turned bittersweet. “Be safe.”

Late post is better then no post. My apologies. Busy couple of weeks.

The break room time dealt with their Goliath through the luck of the Goliath rolling a 1. Sadly cheapest bidder wins typically.

Whitney continues to doubt( rightfully) the gas leak.

I apologize for the short post given the wait. Trying to get back into the groove.

No worries and lol. The Golialth just rolled a 1 so badly it got shot in the privates, shot again and fell through 4 floors of sub par concrete!

Reenneesuash (Ren to humans) daughter of veanamdarr

Ren had spent the transit time working in the hydroponics bay and the gym for the most part of her time awake. The bay needed care and the seedlings were especially vulnerable at this young stage of their lives, older plants were more robust but the baby plants were fragile and less resilient.

Sure she had spent time in the Galley with crew but the Kieller had found she had less nightmares when she spent the time doing something to tired out her body, also helped her get back in shape after the less than ideal conditions she had lived and worked in for the past few months. Ren was more like her old self and less like the scared refugee on the run. The mental damage was far slower to heal though.

Though not too busy to search the stores and had found some more clothes, care items and bits needed for day to day life. Just the small fact Ren found enough to have clean clothes, that fit was a good mental boost.

So it was Ren had tossed her dirty jump suit off having chambered about into the plant room of the hydro bay to make sure there were no blatant problems. Thankfully no need to call the engineers this time! The priestess, she would not try to say to offend but was not the one for the job. Dressed in some dark blue leggings with a matching snug tank top bearing the ship builder logo, plain trainers and had her hair in a messy pony tail, ears more visible and a smidge of grease on her cheek.

At least Ren was looking less Victim as she recovered her figure and her bruises and scrapes etc had healed up with proper food and a little help from the grumpy medical folk.

The bridge she found seeing a large planet ahead, it was green, blue and looked like it could sustain life. Well.. more complicated life. Many planets could sustain the most basic of life and utterly inhospitable to even the hardest of expeditions.

“Flam…” a flammable planet! That was alien indeed, how had it stayed stable this long! And no..it was just supportive of life. Ren let the other two work and waited watching the scene with a raised eye brow and watching the globe below rotate slowly.

“Hmm, looks… Interesting."Ren said skimming the data and the planets read out etc. It was an alien world, one that supported life on an advanced level. The atmosphere was comparable to what they could breath, it sadly was far too close to bug taken planets though to settle.

“I'm not sure how to take that.. but yes. They are growing nicely but far from ready for harvest.” Ren was actively trying to bite her more.. sharp side, trying to smooth the edges but no one was 100% perfect and change took time.

“Id have to test them, but this world's fauna and flora has a better than average probability of being safe for us to consume.” She said trying to be helpful seeing as she had walked up here out of curiosity about where they might be. “Probbly taste weird though” She said quietly to herself thinking knowing their luck it be enormous fungi or something that would require creative preparation.

Ren found a seat and muted a little as her feet did not reach the deck and had to lower it. “Might I suggest? A Binary message?” She suggested a basic mathematical method of encoding data.

The Tech who lifts.

Enzo wondered how much trouble they would get to take the fancy coffee maker with them for the nerd cave back at the base. The ICT and tech teams would love great coffee. I mean the place would be getting a full refurbishment to get the smell of zombies out the carpet, brains and whole resident evil level live action going on right now. Fuck, he would not be able to see theat the same for a long time.

“Calm Miss, we not here to hurt you.” Enzo said surprisingly softly and with care as he saw the woman panic. The last thing they needed was her running about and getting eaten on their watch. Plus she might alert more of the lurking…”guess we 2 for 2, call it in.”

Finally they saved someone who was not a corporate battle axe, maybe he got an action hero date out of it for fun. Maybe they might have a easy…oh fuck.

His comment to the others was to cut off Toby the massive fist and he could only but swear in Italian, curse its mother and insult its parentage.

It was not a planned action that Enzo took, but anyone who was not a hardened direct action feel panic as he just lowered his gun to point at any part of this ugly ass thing and started firing the mixed bag of whatever he had in the gun. There was way too little room. Any damage was better than none and Enzo wanted to live very very much.

It was more reflex than any logical plan. Zombie monster bad. Gun good. Shoot monsters. Hope it worked.

I thought you guys broke off in your own search so you get to deal with a Goliath in a kitchen.

Before I revealed the intern I would have just shrugged. Now that I revealed her I think it would be poor form to kill her without letting the concealment team do their jobs.

But that’s just my take.

Thats fine. I thought it was a safe bet to have groups fan out to cover the building, seach and secure areas so they do not get attacked from infr9jt and behind.

Race Day. Lucky 8.
04-11-2094

Bellatrix has been mediating for a time before she had to put all her protective gear, the layers of everything from fire proof and impact protections. Slowly breathing in and out as Bellatrix helped to centre and find her calm before all and after all the chaos this weekend. She saw a holo call from her family and answered cheerfully, they were watching the race on the holo footage in the living room and several beers and other drinks littered the table. “I gotta go, love you guys!” Bellatrix said and she closed the call and got ready for the race heading into the chaotic race bays where Sif and others were readying to drop the ship from the cradle.

The engine was analysed humming gently, heat was building up in the hot bay already. Most of them had cool packs, cool gear or some kind of method to keep comfortable in the harsh climate. “Right, get the Princess in her carriage, lock it down and get things cleared!.” Sif shouted having pulled her race suit to the waist with a sports bra on show, not strictly under rules but it was far too hot for the nordic woman. “Up and in Bella, I'll get you strapped in.” she said to Bellatrix and gestured to the ship. Sif liked to be the last one to check, this was her responsibility so she would do the final checks on the Pilot.

“Sure, lead the way my lady is waiting.” She said cheerfully playing along and walked up to the ladder climbing up the ship and climbing into the confined cockpit. “Ready” Bellatrix said and nodded as Sif pulled the straps tight, and locked everything in, her connections to the ship, monitors and more engaged, causing her mind to link with the systems. “Two taps to her helmet told she was geared up, locked in and engaged. Bellatrix nodded and knocked her visor down with a push, the whole world went quiet down a gentle buzz as the cockpit locked down.

It was a minute before Bellatrix replied to the radio. “Test. Test. Confirmed. All systems are green.” Radio was working, everything was good to go.

“Team confirms Green. Releasing the cradle. Go for lunch once free.” The radio confirmed and the Nordic Call second ship pulled in behind Astrid exiting the pit lane. The two ships almost identical bar the UK and Finland flag with names embellished down the side of each.

“3.2.1… Go Go Go, the race begins! The 2097 AG race has begun!” One of the media heads said as 20 ships took off from the starting line with a howl of engines and humming AG motors.

The race was on and crowds screamed as the dust settled down the main straight with a roaring echo as the latest race of the season began. All shown on huge holo projections for fans to see the rest of the circuit.

Bellatrix survived what was the utter chaos of the first laps and that was all that could be classed at the first stage of this race. They had already planned for this and prepared for this heavily in sim racing. Paul was dead ahead of her and she kept on his tail with her engine screaming, heat gauges showing as hot but not dangerous or problematically so. She hit hard into the corners, and drove harder to keep up with the ship ahead running closer and closer to the rocks with a calculated risk matching him turn for turn.

“Astrid out… engines fucked. Pulling her in.” The Radio confirmed with a grin tone that the other Nordic Call pilot was out. “Another one down… this race is tough. Be careful.” The message said as someone had already told her, and also complemented her how close yet safely she had so far avoided any crash this race.

It took almost all her concentration and did not even track how many places Bellatrix had really gained from the start line, the track ahead, the car ahead and behind was her only focus right now.

The move later race would define the weekend for at least two racers, another was holding up traffic, Bellatrix and Paul were coming in hot off a fresh run and dropped into what was an almost myth like rivalry, constantly on each other, running at hundreds of kph, close within a ships length and running everything from ELS to various tactics to one up the other. The public today were getting one hell of a show.

The two rival craft left Dorian in the dust on one of the straights, burning hard past Bellatrix barely could tell who it was without the team telling her, how fast the track was and how much it took to just keep the ships under control at the break neck pace demanded of them.

Though much as Nordic's ship pushed beyond any expected ability, beyond its expected pace it was not quite enough to take the place off Paul. She had given it everything and more that was probably never believed to exist and yet she came in behind as finally let the abused engine drop back onto the home lap with a tear in her eye seeing the flags waving and cheering the team on the pit lane. She was never going to get used to that and hoped it would remain so. Bellatrix greatly appreciated everything she had been given.

It was a whirlwind that Bellatrix pulled into the pit lane of, however her first attempted destination was to talk to her team mate and make sure Astrid was … not OK but to talk to her.

Delta Hyper and Astrids press press..
04-11-2094

Astrid tolerated the hug from her smaller and emotionally loud co-pilot before they headed to separate media events. Astrid strode out to a group in the pit lane from various media organisations home and aboard. “Why did you crash out, what was the problem, what about Paul and Bellatrix, how Nordic taking this, are you gonna lose your place next year, why are you behind this year….” So many questions and Astrid shut them down calmly.

“Ernough. I barely think.” She cut them off like turning off a switch giving herself time to answer the overly excited press core.

“One. We had a Engine mode issue. “ She said without any further information given. “Two. Nordic will study the reason why.” She added to the following up, why.. they had barely started stripping it down.

“What Bellatrix does on track concerns me. What does does off. Is not.” Cutting off the gossip hounds dead not even entertaining them. “No.” Was the follow up and turned away without a care.

“I have a contract for 2098.” She said, why did they have to be so excited? “I'm happy for my team mate, race well. Why would I be upset if she got points?” Adtrid asked another back in a challenge to the line of questions.

“Yes. We improved. We will improve again.” Frustration for one press as he got an answer he probably should expect. Team secrets. No.

There was the time Adtrid missed having a boring Pilot like Bjorn on the team, he had half the drama Bellatrix did but the energy the woman had brought was infectious and had revitalised a tired team who were just riding the season out to one that was fighting again. The culture had… gained a new kind of purpose again. It was acceptable for what it brought in positives.

Yes. Astrid was…cold but not stone hearted.

….

“5 minutes.” The man said with a mic and a head set at the Delta Hyper set area, passing out water and making sure everyone was ready and knew when and where to enter and exit from. Intern stuff but it was important for smooth running of the show being a runner.

“Thanks.” Bellatrix said with a nod as she waited holding a spare hat and being handed one for another team as well as a sharpie. Maybe, that might create some drama but just breathing did at this stage! There was one way to drive the press mad but no.. no way would she throw that without asking first.

“I know, I gone though your notes Ren, its good.” Bellatrix said confirming with her media manager about how to handle some things, she was over worrying and Bellatrix had to tell her to stop preparing for Paul to propose live on delta Hyper. Ren liked to do that when she got stressed, and Bellatrix had to tell her to stop at times.

“Ma Belle, at least warn me next time so I can plan a potential response.” She said having to play catch up and hating it. The media here had blown an entire chat into a whole migraine worthy problem. “Zere. Hope your ready.” Ren said handing the extra caps over and took one as Bellatrix swapped to a Cap from team Valkayre.. which was kinds glad no onw had linked yet Team Valkyrie and Nordic being a suspected couple… The headlines would be funny though.

“Il try, im on in 30, il be fine Ma Ren.” She said getting a very French kiss on the cheek and being pushed off for the cameras.

Bellatrix walked on dressed fairly normal, too tried to be super fancy, everything mostly normal for her bar, the alternative team cap she wore and a pen tucked into a slim pocket. Her long red hair was loose and she was fairly relaxed with an easy confident press smile.

She kept quiet, calm and the question was pretty tame for what she had faced this weekend. “Im not a Vestaphan guys. We got close, but kept it clean.” Bellatrix joked at the whole thing, they had a pretty intense race but she was not a dangerous racer, she pushed limits but it was a very calculated risk over one that was not.

“its friendly, he helped me with a few things as im new to the season. If gossip rumours are true, I think he has enough girlfriends already, he has no energy left to race.” Bellatrix joked and made fun of the very trashy magazine who published some rather exaggerated stories. “We definitely pushed it. Took risks, and made some engineers uncomfortable. Sif, Floki everyone did an amazing job getting the most we could out of it, we over did it with Astrid but we know for next time.” Bellatrix said, everyone with any brain realise Nordic were running their ship to the limits right this weekend, or over them in Astrid's case.

“Paul, next time you wear this one.” She said with an easy confidence and passed him one of her new hats she signed, the Nordic design had been updated and a crown like tiara added with a stylised B, the branding people enjoyed her nickname and wanted to run with it. They even added a small red dragon into the normal mix of raven and other design staples.

People would still spread rumours of them as a couple but that was … inevitable.

Bellatrix was cold in Sweden as winter drew in closer, days had become extremely short and the sun hung low in the sky. She was dressed in insulated boots, silly bear ear coat, gloves, and still felt cold as she headed through a light snow storm to pick up a parcel from the post office that had been mis addressed to her new apartment in Sweden. The whole apartment was supplied by Nordic in a high end block near the factory, still somewhat less a home for Bellatrix, it was not her furniture or style of decoration.

Her days had been pretty normal, nothing crazy had happened as she bounced along with one ear bud in playing some white girl music from an older decade. She almost slipped on the ice and grumbled about the climate.

The days in Sweden apart from her time at home where she engaged in several streams to her fans, one more adult focused on playing drinking DND one night, another chatting, and more alongside her more family friendly content.

It was extra on top of her already busy time but that extra engagement was what built up her brand and her fans seemed to enjoy Bellatrix was willing to answer questions, take suggestions and had called out some of her viewers' successes.

Back in the Nordic Factory Sauna Bellatrix had been corrupted by Astrid after they had taken a rare and even rarer chance coming up to take a forest run and get some cold, definitely cold fresh air wearing head lamps to help with gloom and crunching over fresh snow taking a lap to the old watch tower and back.

Floki had been weird .. He was always weird but she had run with a short knife he gave her about her belt. Something about being a shield maiden in spirit during the racing. She was too polite to refuse and Floki was well, the man was an eccentric genius! Nordic saw a small price to pay for his skills.

It was dark between the tall trees, ever greens and always shaded making deep drafts and patches to open ground all about themselves. Some plants and animals seemed far more hardy and never rested in the cold winters. Though Astrid might find it normal, this climate and the constant darkness was tough for the other woman to adapt to.

Bellatrix was in the Sauna doing her calming meditation, the simple acting helped manage the stress of the team's return weeks. They had to practically rebuild both ships engines after the punishment they took on the salt flats, the hulls had been chipped and had to be recoated as Floki waved his hands about saying they were blunt axes after use. The Team Boss was not seen much about the factory floor as normal or with the pilots and engineers.

Bellatrix nodded seeing Astrid enter the Sauna, after the race and everything… She saw Finn was strange but the bond between the two team mates had improved. Bellatrix just went back to her meditation exercises and tried to ignore the crazy going on about her orbits.
