Tyaethe barely took note of the warping coffin: like everything else intended to stop the knights in this defiled tomb, she had no intention of pausing to deal with it. She could just run past whatever was going on and reach the bottom without being paused. It was definitely a possible approach, provided that nothing was slowing you down. For instance, having much shorter legs than you were really expecting and a consequently slower top speed.

Instead of outrunning the explosion entirely, it instead got her from behind as the originator revealed himself. The white-haired girl did the only thing that she could: twist her body round so that the sword might get him and trust in her speed to not be set aflame. Landing afterwards was, fortunately, the easiest part and once back to her feet... the paladin kept going. Sure, there was a pyromaniac--and the possibility of being slightly aflame--but that could be put off until she was ready to stand and fight everything down here.

Can one get a really big set of armor, a sword, and be a kind of wandering giant dragon slayer? or something of the like?

or is that not a thing they do?

It's also worth pointing out that giants are absolutely enormous. It's hard to figure how they'd be playable.

I played a half-giant half-elf once. She wanted to be a knight and was having trouble getting enough armour, having only managed the legs and hands. Fairly expected, since she was 15' tall.

He was obviously a newcomer, since no-one used to the district would find the specific ratio of humans to youkai worth noting. This was good and bad... good because it mean that he hadn't rejected the request to join her register at some point in the past but bad because outsiders tended to retain completely reasonable preferences to not share their blood out. Nor life force, being terrified out of their wits, or stranger things that various youkai needed.

"This one maintains a register of the humans within this district, to co-ordinate a schedule for more exotic diets. The more people that join, the less inconvenienced each participant is. This one hopes that it would not inconvenience you to occasionally give blood, chi, terror, or more exotic requirements," Hikaru explained, expression as schooled as ever--aside from glancing at Seth and determining him to have put off coming to a decision upon their last meeting...

@Dash375 Well, she's probably pretty well known for her going around and asking every human she meets to sign up for what's basically a blood-and-anything-else-only-humans-can-supply drive. And came into the MYO to ask Makiko at one point.
