Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

Gilgamesh

To say that the King of Heroes took assaults on his pride well couldn't possibly be more wrong: if exposed to the Immaterium, you could place bets on whether his ego would be sufficient to give rise to another Chaos God on its own--which would make for the interesting scenario of two staunchly antitheistic gods in that universe. Consequently, if Magnus had known what the inevitable result of being so blatantly disrespectful would be, he might have chosen to employ tact.

"Mongrel, do you not realise the folly of your own words? Had you an ounce of the knowledge you claim, then recognising the King of Heroes would be effortless," Gilgamesh spat back, the air behind him rippling and glowing a brilliant gold, "In my treasury lie all the world's treasures and all human ingenuity. If I wished to leave this place so soon and not gather my treasures, I would have left before."

Emerging from the rippling pools were swords, spears, and weapons of stranger design that nevertheless shared a common feature: they ended in a point. "You considered yourself an equal, when only one will ever hold that position. You questioned the king's absolute law.

"Which requires my judgement."

The confidence with which the obviously-fuming Gilgamesh stated this, along with his unearthly charisma, was enough to drive the crowd back once again, shake even the confidence of those following Magnus. There was no doubt what the judgement would be, with those weapons hanging in the air. Weapons that shot forth, a barrage at speeds the human eye couldn't hope to follow and mitigated only by the limited number being used.

Each weapon a Noble Phantasm, the crystallisation of a heroic legend. Items of such might that they could serve as a Servant's trump card in a battle... gathered in the countless thousands before they were used or named by the King of Uruk and generally considered more for their ability as arrows than their own properties. They all shared some common qualities, like their peerless craftsmanship and immense magical power or their near imperviousness to damage.

Or their ability to harm spiritual bodies, such as Servants or wraiths. Or Daemons of Chaos.
Reinhardt Wilhelm

As his charge failed to connect with anything, Reinhardt came to a slow halt and turned back to get into the fighting. Except, for some reason, it was foggy. Now, the weather wasn't prone to changing that fast without any reason and this wasn't something that he knew Vader to be able to do... and that meant that it was the work of their ally. Why did he think this would help? It impaired their visibility just as much as their foe's and the clearest idea of direction that the huge German was retaining came from the occasional plink as one of D.Va's shots failed to penetrate his armour.

Fortunately, his arms were strong, his hammer was long, and what came up had to come down. Unless Vader had a desire to be even more lost than anyone else, that should mean he came down somewhere close to where he went up...

... and now there was a rocket hammer being swung through that area.

Yukine Chris

After having tried--and failed--to keep up with the cultists' trail through the twisting back alleys and running out of breath, Chris admitted defeat in chasing the flamethrower maniacs around (at least for now, there was no way that they wouldn't end up making an obvious scene at some point). This meant that she could get round to something that had been nagging at her mind since Hibiki had shown up:

"If I'm here, and you're here, where's that other idiot?"

Gilgamesh

Once again, a redhead with ideas above their station had approached the King with an offer of a partnership. Once again, it was a request doomed to be denied. There had only ever been one that was worthy to be his partner and even they hadn't dared lay claim to any mantle of kingship. "Presumptuous" was putting it lightly, let alone to lay claim to those subjects that were rightfully his so brazenly.

Arms folded, Magnus received his reply: "Denied. What right does a ruler with no subjects have to claim equality with me?"

Magical Girl "The Ripper"

Of course, her dinner plans had to be interrupted for a few minutes by the arrival of two other well-known magical girl--though for Shiroyuri to have started working with Teacup Saori was quite the unusual discovery. Mostly, people seemed to work well enough on their own, even if there was a lot of overlapping coverage right about now...

"I do not have the abilities to finish off such a large negari on my own, Shiori-senpai, and as I can ascertain weak points on any item I cannot determine its state of life or death. That was how we met the first time," the white-haired girl said brightly, apparently not too bothered about being belittled like that, "But with more than four of us here, we would have been successful despite any setback."

Then it was back to the Major, to ask the most important question:

"Ah, the yakitori sounds nice," and would make a change from the mass-produced fare, "Though... I hope there is only one of you coming?"
Wiz does a good explanation imo.

Did end up with the "as it turns out, there's no opportunity for that stuff right now" conclusion. So, basically a draw for one reason or another.

And still need to point the magical girls in... some direction. Because chasing the crazy cultists would be bad for the cultists.

@Lost Cause@Psyga315

I feel the need to say that I am not a huge fan of one-liner posts. I feel like it detracts from the rp by basically becoming spam. I feel like it belongs in the free roleplay section and not here. Anyone else feel the same? Could you guys boost the quality a bit or perhaps do your back and forth dialogue in pm's first and post it as a collab?

Eh, I object to the idea of labelling all one-line posts as bad, but this is definitely overdone. Though on the whole, constantly having long posts in the middle of a conversation can lead to... far too much navel-gazing or pointless actions. Basically turning half the post into the equivalent of Oblivion's NPC's constantly going on about mudcrabs.
@Lmpkio@VitaVitaAR@Raineh Daze

Okay, so, take into account that Vader is ludicrously powerful. The dude picked up a Star Destroyer with the Force. That's at least 1000 tons of telekinesis right there. He also crushed an AT-AT once. As such, given a moment to focus, there is very little that he cannot straight-up kill.

Honestly, the only real hope anyone except maybe Magnus has of beating this guy is keeping him off-balance. If Set manages to land a blow to the more important parts of his suit Vader might be forced to retreat. But if he gets even a moment of not constantly defending against everything, he could apply his full power, which would practically instantly annihilate any of the combatants.

So yeah, even 3v1 with surprise and prep, best hope we have is making him withdraw. Actually defeating Vader would require far greater numbers, or far more powerful characters.

If we went with all the EU stuff, though, we have the minor issue of "welp, the movies don't make any sense" and "shouldn't we have lost already?"

Though I think you're underestimating some of the characters... XD

That reminds me, Chris and Hibiki really need to find something to do. Hm.
I'm relying on the continued propensity of humans to build structures.
I side with vader personally you're not a real team and none of you have a plan. So far half of you could have shot each other firing through a fog at random. There are dozens of examples of new teams with no stradegy tripping eachother up

Fortunately, only one person has a constantly repeatable ranged attack and Vader already decided to take the rocket equivalent attack to the face.

So a lack of synergy (because these aren't complete novices) has been more than equalised. <.<

... besides, what do you care about the outcome?
I need to find a good place to jump back in...

The place you jumped out hasn't moved.
Sir Tyaethe Radistirin

The oldest of the knights hadn't done much to directly fight the bandits, having mostly made a mess of their mounts and left them as easy prey for those following behind, but had trapped one of them. "Trapped" was a strong word, considering that she had mostly forced the horse off the girl's broken leg, but the foot on her chest and the sword by her neck left no illusions as to exactly what her current status was.

On the plus side for the bandit, Tyaethe had no interest in her right now and was trying to do something that was difficult, if not nigh impossible, to achieve: a staring contest through two visors.

It was a bit odd to be shorter in armour for once, even though the difference wasn't so great.

"I must request that you reveal your identity, as recent events make it unwise for the Iron Roses to trust anyone so hidden," the paladin stated, still trying to meet eyes with their strange counterpart. They definitely matched Alette's description for her employer's contact... yet they were also after the shard, from the way they were going? To be beset by bandits as well made any idea of "coincidence" farcical.
There was one thing and one thing only that Noriko didn't like about other magical girls in general.

Could they possibly make their attacks more troublesome for the people they were fighting with? It wasn't universal but there was certainly a large amount of... wild abandon with flinging ranged attacks into close quarters with Negari. Even had there been an opportunity for knives to make a difference in the rest of the fight, simply avoiding being dragged into the mess of ice or the black hole was too much of a distraction.

What was done was done and the white-haired magical girl planted her hands proudly on her hips, wondering where she might be able to get something else to eat. There was probably another convenience store nearby but someone would have to give directions... and that someone happened to be coming along right now. Two someones, even: a frowning fairy in a blue dress and the Major, who fortunately had one of the least troublesome abilities for her to work around.

Though the things you could do with it...

"Oh, no, not at all! I have no first aid training and normal strength, I would simply get in the way," the ninja-like girl said, smiling at the other, "I should get back to buying something to eat... though I cannot remember where the nearest store is..."

"I keep telling you to get a chef."
