Rainna Rivera

"Guys, that was totally Outterridge," Rainna informed her companions when the boy implied that it had not been clear who it was who had taken the child. At his mention of a ransom, she thought about the possibility. "Oh, you think he's a dad?"

If that was the case, there was no telling how much one would sacrifice when it came to family. It was highly likely that whoever it was who had made the exchange with the headmaster would have known his relationship with the boy, if there was one. This could be big. What if giving away whatever that was tonight was going to put the safety of the academy at risk, or result in a consequence that was even more serious than that? However, if it was not that, then there was definitely something special about that child. Either way, that transaction was surely nowhere near friendly, and that itself was a cause for concern.

Rainna then flinched and took a step back when the other girl produced a fireball from her hands. She blinked several times as her eyes adjusted to the new light source, and then glanced around warily to ensure that it had not attracted too much attention. It appeared that the individual in the trench coat had caught the attentions of the other two as well. She gave the other boy a thumbs up as a response, before the pyrokinetic girl reacted to seeing somebody else watching from the window. It was then when she realized that it might be difficult to keep track of who had seen what had happened and was watching them right now. It was probably better to have more witnesses, though, if this was not as serious as she was speculating it to be, then it would not be worth getting ratted out for being out of the student hostel at such an hour.

"We... should probably go back inside, if we want to talk," she suggested. "No point getting caught by staff out here. Or you guys are welcome to my dorm, if you weren't already there before. We could enjoy the party tonight and hope that the academy will still be standing in the morning."

She turned back to the hostel after that dry humorous remark, spotting a face flanked by large purple earrings peering out through the stairwell exit. Rainna waved to the newcomer, assuming that she had seen what had happened too, or was just on a late-night mission of her own.

@Ken Oh wow, was just logging in to move this along lol. I assumed your character wasn't gonna come down, but if she is, she still can after I post. Just thought I'd speed things up a little.
Roxana Tolbert

Ever since the street performer had arrived in Ravenport, the town square had been a regular location where she would entertain crowds with her acrobatic skills as well as play an occasional game with those who would decide to bet their wealth on one. They would always pick the correct shell, until the stakes were sufficiently raised, of course. Things had been rather routine for her at Ravenport before hearing about the Wolf's Den Agency jolted her memory about that mysterious, deserted town she had come across before ending up here. It had been rather convenient that they were hiring, and Roxana had decided to take up the offer in hopes that they would one day stumble upon some clues about that neighboring town.

That was exactly why she was currently at the town square for a reason that was completely different from the usual. She had just been assigned her first case - one about an old woman's missing cats, and those working on it were instructed to meet at this very place. However, she had hardly strayed from her usual manner of dress, and few of the folk who passed by recognized her and shot her confused looks, wondering why the performer was present yet not up to her usual antics. She soon spotted a small, brunet man who looked as if he was waiting for someone, and skipped over to him. He seemed to be rather on edge, but she would dismiss that observation for now.

She gave a theatrical bow before gesturing to herself while she began with an introduction. "Roxana Tolbert. We shall be working on Granny Mildred's case, yes?"

Roxana could not help but feel that the case was way more than it appeared to be. A bunch of missing cats did not seem like much on the surface, but figuring out the 'why', 'how', and possibly 'who' could lead to something a whole lot bigger.

I think I see where the confusion is. Looking at the recent posts, may I propose what the current layout looks like, for the sake of convenience, so that we can move on? XD

It's been some time, hope everyone's still with us. Will move this along with Rainna over the weekend. This whole thing is meant to be semi-sandboxish once the change of scene happens, but do let me know if you have any ideas or need more to work with.
Hmm cats it'll be then. I'll probably have a post up tomorrow.
Back! Looks like Roxana's gonna be the odd one out. Does either case require an extra hand?
This week is pretty busy, will try to catch on at the end of the week.
He is out but the captain has currently got hold of him.

Not anymore ;)

After the heist everyone was doing their own thing and we needed a reason for them together. No one knows each other, plus the dann timeline, so they can easily contact each other and I didn't want to do another big heist so soon.

As mentioned before, there are two reasons for the group to stay together. Firstly, they'll make more profit helping one another out, and secondly, they'll need to watch one another's backs because of the rival group that has just been introduced. That's settled unless you don't think those are solid enough reasons. The next concern, I believe, is that you would like to have some slice-of-life elements between all the action of heists and attacks. I agree there's been quite a lot of action, but once the PCs get out of this and regroup, there'll be time for more character development and interaction. I guess introducing all these NPCs and action was our way of keeping the story interesting, but if your idea of 'keeping it interesting' means some break from all the action, which I agree would work really well too, then we can tone down on what we've been doing so far.
By the time Kai had recognized who one of the men at the doorway was, it was too late. The Captain had been present at the heist, and would have most certainly been on the lookout for the group of thieves that had pulled it off. The boy struggled against the man's grip, thankful that the other one, whom did not look familiar, did not react to his attempt to escape. He could hear Isago and the person who had attacked him trying to turn the Captain against each other, though, the odds did not look to be in their favor. The Captain had seen their group committing a crime with his own eyes. As for the other one, well, he was not going to wait to find out.

Kai eventually managed to reach for his cutlass after some time, and drove it into the Captain's leg. Once released, he leaped over the counter and dashed past the crowd that had gathered at the tavern, prompting shouts of surprise and dismay from its patrons. He exited through the front, glancing around warily to ensure that he was not a target for the time being. He looked round the corner to see both Isago and Ratte engaged in battle. He would have to get their attentions to let them know he was safe, but that would mean attracting the attentions of the rival group as well. Still, there was a chance they could all escape for the time being and plan their next moves. He prepared himself to run before calling out to Isago and Ratte, should their enemies turn their attacks to him.

"We need to retreat, now!"
