I've done Starfire twice.

Shamelessly stealing Andy's bit.
Ever since New 52, most of DC's characters can say the same.
Oh before I get more drunk I should say that I have an idea that's a little different than my typical Kara for year 3-4. If I ever get to that point. Less crash landing on Earth and more crash landing on War World. It's a riot.

I actually have a Supergirl concept myself that I once tried seven or so years ago, but the RP died and I only got two posts out.
Same with Starfire, two posts about ten years ago and then the game went gonezo.
I had, like, 40-60 posts total on this account prior to joining this game.
I also had less than ten total ratings and now I have:

Hey guys how do you calculate @Retired's post count? Don't you fucking worry, he'll break his neck to tell you himself.

Just wait until I hit double digits. I'll throw a party.
someone who's put out four posts over the course of a month.

You rang?
but we can't do shit beyond the flash.

Welcome to @Sep's world.

Oh, boy. A teenaged Vic Sage.

I've applied for less teenage characters in these comic games than I have adult.
I'm not Bounce.
I'll hop in on this competition once the time comes.
So that way when I win, you can all hound me about how little I post and ask what is even keeping me here. Then I can respond with: "that's The Question."
This game has the momentum we didn't have in other games, not because we are limited to one character (though I'm not ruling it out as a contributing factor) but rather we were missing marque members of the Hype and RPG community that made these games work in 2013 and earlier. We've never really respected the games to give the time it needed outside of very few exceptions.

I'm just not convinced that secondary characters or villain POVs is a bad idea in itself. It's just timing, motivation, and dumb luck. We've just had a long run of unfortunate consequences in the past.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. I know from our past talks on this topic for other games that we don't see eye-to-eye, and that's fine, so I'll refrain from spamming the OOC with more of my opinions on the matter. I said my piece, I've let it known where I stand and what I believe is at stake, and that's where I'll leave it.

I'm going to disagree with that comment. I want to play a villain. It's a lot more interesting to be a villain protagonist. Problem is, a lot of people have to be attached to the hip to whatever hero the villain is paired with. When done right, ala Spectacular Foes of Spider-Man or Secret Six, they can be done right. But since when have RPers done things right?

You're right in that villainous protags can and tend to be more interesting and fun to play. I should have worded that final portion better when I said what point do they serve; that was more referring to secondary characters. However, that problem you mention is the biggest obstacle. No matter how interesting, no matter how fun, it won't matter once a player gets hung up on an arc because the other player who wrote a major villain disappeared on them. I fully recognize that there are some who could handle this, but the vast majority of the time this problem becomes reality. And as much as it sucks to limit those who may be able to handle it, I honestly feel it's better for the game to do so in order to prevent such scenarios.
