Yeah. Just the people from the comics and anything people might recognize. Original NPCs aren't nessescary. I want it to be as thorough as possible otherwise, so that nobody comes into Season Two and starts using characters that have either already appeared in someone else's posts or are actively an ongoing presence in your storylines.
ANNOUNCEMENT
So in thinking about the nature of this game and how future potential players might have to navigate the waters, I'm going to have to ask something of each of you that, for some, may be more laborous than others but should hopefully be well worth it. I'm also not making it an immediate priority, just something to work on in your spare time. Consider it homework rather than the main assignment of staying regular with participation.
Basically, I want to build an index of all characters mentioned or used as NPC's. PC characters I can very easily list, given the Characters tab exists, but I need every NPC or referenced-in-passing character from the comics in order to give others an idea of continuity and who's already been established in some capacity.
This is being asked so that if someone comes in wanting to play, say, Hawkeye? They can already know that he's been used as Eddie's NPC in the Cap/Team 7 storyline and search his IC posts accordingly if they're intent to pursue him. Asking a new player to just do this to begin with might be too much of a hassle, especially if they just want to know who hasn't been touched, so I figure this is much easier. Equally important is knowing who's been a factor where, even if they're not a superhero, so characters like Marlene and Frenchie from Hound's Moon Knight stuff would also count. Or in my case, Alfred and Gordon.
As for the villains, who still aren't going to be playable for the foreseeable
future, it'd just be a good idea to have a catalogue of those for future seasons aswell, since I know that I've personally referenced or established half of Gotham's rogue's gallery in a cameo capacity. (I may have cursed myself with that and made this task exponentially harder on myself.)
And I know, I know. "If you'd kept up with the IC, you'd have been able to do this yourself!" But to that, I have two counter points:
1) My short term memory is for shit and I'm gonna have trouble even remembering who I've used before actively delving back through my posts to make this.
2) You all know your posts better than anyone else. If someone was thrown in there that you consider to be a major or minor player that others may have overlooked as an unimportant nod, now's a good time to essentially canonize them.
I'll do my due diligence in looking at the posts of the players who've since dropped out, and who all they've used. But no matter how insignificant, we need to have an index ready for Season Two. Which, by the way, I'm going to be following every IC post of as they come and updating the index accordingly to avoid this sort of problem in the future. It'll keep me on track and away from this constant game of catch-up that I unwittingly inflicted on myself by being a lazy scrub.
But yeah. Sorry if this seems a bit much, but I need some help to be able to pull this off. If you've been building your Post Indexes as instructed, this should at least be a little easier. Plus, it'll a fun to be able to look back at this season and see a fully established universe of characters in world that all of us had a hand in creating.
Also, to be clear, I'm not asking for specific posts and the like. The list only needs to include names. To keep things simple, maybe stick to the civillian names of everybody, since some either aren't who they usually are or have yet to become those characters. So instead of "Enchantress/Amora/June Moon", I'd ask Wraith to just list Amora and June Moon, respectively.
