Reina Mori

Lost in her even-more-negative-than-usual thoughts, Reina started slightly when she felt a hand on her shoulder, shrinking away a step instinctively as she looked over to see a very tall boy who looked concerned.

"Are you okay? I'm sorry if I bothered ya but you look down and I can't not do anythin' about it."

The girl's heart sank a bit, and she felt her face start to redden in shame. He was worried about bothering her? She was the one bothering him by not even be able to hide her emotions properly.

"I-I'm fine!..." she said quickly, looking away. "Just... you know... strategizing and stuff..." She knew how unconvincing she sounded even as she spoke, and decided to backpedal slightly. "I'm... actually, I'm just a little nervous about the test. First day jitters and all. I'll get over it." She even managed something of a smile, however faint it was. It wasn't really a lie, and sounded a lot more believable. "Sorry about... um, worrying you."

"YO, NICE TO MEET YOU ALL! I'M YOSHIDA KENICHI!"

Reina's eyebrows raised at the noise, and she glanced towards its source.

Oh. It was the same boy who had popped her ears a while before.

"Loud..." she mumbled, the mild annoyance brought on by the memory seeping into her tone slightly. A second later, she realized she had said the comment out loud, causing her to blush and glance at the tall boy next to her before immediately looking away again.

Kenichi continued his impassioned speech, and though Reina didn't have the most flattering first impression of him, by the end of it she found herself smiling lightly despite herself. He was... silly, to say the least, but between his performance and the other boy's concern for her, she couldn't help but feel at least a little bit better. Seeing a few others joining in with Kenichi's attempt to rouse the rest was amusing as well--most so being Fumika's rather sudden cheer.

Reina's mood was sombered again when Yoshida-sensei began to address them. She listened intently, feeling her worries taking her again as he explained what they'd be doing. Great. She was going to bring down seven of her classmates with her if she messed up.

She noticed Fumika and Jett were on her team, which brought her a mix of happiness and more worry that she'd fail them. Realizing she didn't know the name of the the boy next to her--and by extension which team he was on--she glanced over at him.

"Um, I'm on Alpha," she said quietly with a point to the screen. She looked away from him and to the ground, stuffing her hand back in her pocket. "Mori Reina..."

Amano Nanase

Nanase nodded at her servant's words. "It'd be nice if things never got so bad you felt the need to assist... but I feel like that's unlikely." Pausing to smile, she continued "So I'll look forward to seeing your treasures when the time comes."

Along with the rest of the group, the two began to move, keeping up easily with her reinforced legs. She came to a stop with her servant atop a hill, gazing down at the chaos below. Someone sure had a thing for skeletons here.

She glanced over as Ozymandias called down an impressive blast, eliminating many skeletons in a blink, and then another group a moment later. With a small smile, the girl nodded in approval at the sight--truly, the Rider was as powerful as she had suspected, considering his identity. The fact that she had managed to summon him was something to be proud of.

The man spoke to her, getting another nod from Nanase. "Understood." She wasn't particularly effective at range in comparison to her abilities in close-quarters, but evidently Ozymandias more than made up for that.

The girl watched as the rest of her allies fought to the city, projecting a simple recurve bow and arrow, immediately reinforcing both objects as she notched the arrow and drew the string back. Breath held for a moment, she lined up her shot and let go, projecting and reinforcing a second arrow even as the first still flew. It managed to hit one of the creatures center mass, sending the bones that made up its body crumbling to the ground.

Penthesilea

The Berserker easily swatted away any skeletons in her direct path her legs. Following along with the others, she entered the city with Estelle still in her arms. Two other Servants did battle with each other above the city, one very likely a Caster and the source of the skeleton familiars.

Looks like she was the first obstacle getting in the way of the Servant's goal. An unfortunate position to occupy.

"Berserker, crush them until your heart's content. We're cutting a path to that Caster!" said her Master, clearly on the same train of thought.

The madness of her class had been growing slowly, itching more with every second she spent in this wretched world. Killing a few of the things that inhabited it would help, if only a little.

Holding Estelle closer, Penthesilea swung her ball and chain in a wide arc as it materialized, clearing a comfortable area free of any skeletons around the two. With that done, she set down her Master gently, materializing two swords at her hips and clawed gauntlets around her forearms and hands.

"Stay close to the other Masters, please," she asked of Estelle. Of course, she fully planned to stay near the girl herself as she fought, and keep an eye on her... but knowing the container she had been summoned in, she unfortunately couldn't guarantee that she wouldn't lose herself and end up prioritizing the death of certain enemies over the survival of her Master.

With that, Penthesilea allowed herself to a small part of that madness within her, and began an ungraceful, but highly effective rampage quickly cutting through the skeletons to get closer to the two dueling Heroic Spirits. It felt good, but the terribly weak enemies weren't nearly enough to truly satisfy her.

The Servant only slowed upon hearing the red Saber calling out brazenly to the Heroic Spirits. Interesting... strategy?

Penthesilea leapt and landed hard on top of a skeleton near the building Nero stood upon, driving the creature into the ground and slamming both ends of her flail down on two others close by for good measure, to ensure her presence was known by the two unknown purple-haired Servants.

She glared up at the Caster in particular. Something told her the two wouldn't do as Nero had requested, so the Berserker kept herself on guard.

Reina Mori

When Reina felt something touching her sleeve, she immediately tensed in surprise, losing her focus on her quirk for a split second. Even as she turned her head quickly to see that it had been the girl tugging on her shirt, she got her quirk back under control. The blonde-haired girl looked almost nervous as she stepped away, Reina figuring with a pang of guilt that she had been taken aback by her quirk.

"Umm... My class is here - class 1-A."

Reina's eyes widened slightly as she glanced to the sign above the door the three were next to.

"I am in A-1 as well. It's a pleasure to meet the both of you."

Well, that was kind of nice, Reina found herself thinking. She gave the other two an almost imperceptible smile and nod, meant to indicate that she was also in the same class. She nodded again in thanks as she and the other girl walked through the door the boy held open for them.

"Oh by the way, My name is Jett Haven. What are your names?"

She glanced at Jett's out-stretched hand, not immediately taking it. The boy was clearly of the more confident and outgoing sort, which made Reina a little uncomfortable--not because she didn't like that sort of person, but because she always felt like even more of a downer and burden than usual around them. She knew she wasn't a very fun person to be around.

Seeing that the other girl didn't seem to be interested in taking his hand either though, Reina, after another moment of hesitation, reached out to meet his hand shake.

She hesitated again before giving her name, almost not wanting to bother the two with it. "Mori... Mori Reina," she finally said, glancing between the two for a moment.

The other girl introduced herself as Motome Fumika, adding on to her introduction somewhat out of the blue. "It's nice to meet you!"

Reina wasn't sure how to respond as Fumika held her deep bow, and ended up settling on an uninspired but genuine enough "Yeah," along with her own slight bow.

A man she recognized entered the classroom, evidently their teacher, prompting Reina to follow Fumika's lead and find herself a seat quickly. Sure enough, he introduced himself as the hero L Guardian, and their homeroom teacher for the year.

"Frankly, I don't believe any of you deserve to be here."

As he spoke, Reina's anxiety flared and she felt her heart start to pound painfully in her chest.

"Time for Battle training to see who is skilled, and who isn't."

Her fingernails dug painfully into her palms as she squeezed her hands tightly in her lap.

@Feyblue @Aerandir

Reina stood at her locker, staring at the jumpsuit she held in her hands. Her peers moved around her, heading off to change, seemingly excited at the testing L Guardian was holding for them.

They were all going to see how pathetic she was. How little control she had over her own quirk, even though it was the entire reason she had even been brought to Komei. They'd find out she had taken up a spot she didn't deserve at the school.

...Idiot.

Hoping that she'd somehow avoid such an inevitability was beyond stupid of her to begin with. The girl bit her lip, digging her fingers into the fabric of her gym-wear.

Maybe it was for the best that her class found out how weak she was now. They wouldn't ask to pair with her or anything of the sort later on, and she wouldn't have to come off as rude when she tried to say no to not bring them down with her... yeah, it had to be better this way, at least for her classmates.

Reina forced a bitter smile onto her lips. As long as she didn't mess up so badly she got expelled on the spot, this was how it should be. She repeated the thought a few more times for good measure, swallowing hard as she held back the tears that had begun to sting her eyes.

Closing her locker quietly, the girl finally began walking towards the dressing rooms.

Hands in pockets, Reina kept to herself as she followed after the others out to the training grounds, heart rate having hardly lowered at all. When she arrived, she hung back to keep some distance between herself and the group, glancing around absentmindedly at both her peers and her surroundings.

Just don't get kicked out... She managed a few deep breaths, doing what she could to calm herself down and focus on that goal.

And Shoko's ready for review, finally!

Reina Mori

After not hearing anything in response to her ill-thought-out question, Reina glanced up towards the girl curiously, to find her absentmindedly staring at her. Reina instinctively tensed up immediately under the sudden scrutiny, mind running through all the things that she was likely being judged on at the moment. Before she could get too far ahead of herself though, she noticed the blonde-haired girl's eyes changing color, along with a spot of her hair--Reina, remembering how she had gotten through the second floor window, realized it was an indication that the girl was using her quirk, her focus on one of the orbs around Reina.

The black-haired teen looked away awkwardly again, shrinking back slightly, completely unsure how to react to the attention.

"Mhm."

Reina perked up at the noise, the first response she had been given, even if no words were actually said. She glanced at the other girl as she finally stepped through the doorway and began to climb the stairs, only to turn around a moment later.

"Thank you for the stairs."

The words gave Reina pause, both because she hadn't had any expectations of the blonde girl even saying a word after the long, silent thirty seconds, and because of the slightly awkward way she had phrased the sentence.

"No... problem?" she said as the girl, wearing the same expression she had had the entire time, turned to continue her way up the stairs.

Though Reina was left a little dumbfounded by the interaction, she found herself with the smallest smile on her lips. Before she could think too much, a male voice called out.

"HEY! Hold the door for a moment please!"

The girl turned her head quickly, realizing it was addressing her. She spotted the blonde boy immediately, of course, as he was the only other person in the hall, evidently having just come through the unlocked window. She nodded at him as he jogged towards her, before looking away.

As he got closer, she made sure to focus on her quirk, killing the pull so it wouldn't affect him. When he passed her, she motioned towards the stairs again for his benefit, finally letting the door close behind her.

Sticking balled up hands in her pockets, she followed after the blonde girl along with the boy. Though she didn't really mind walking in silence, she decided it wouldn't be a great first impression--though there was no doubt both of these peers of hers would eventually find out how asocial she was regardless. To at least maybe delay that discovery, she steeled her nerves and opened her mouth.

"Which classes are you guys in?..." she asked, looking both at the floor and away from them, even as she realized that doing so was a clear sign of how uncomfortable she was. Even something as simple as addressing other students she couldn't do properly. Biting her lip as she walked, Reina waited for any kind of response, or lack there of. She didn't hold any expectations.

@Feyblue @Aerandir

I'm really sorry about not having this finished by now. I'm hoping to find sometime tomorrow afternoon, but if not then it'll be done by Sunday evening at the latest. I really wanted to get at least something down to give everyone a sense of the character, so here's that.

And since I don't have her history done, may as well throw out some ideas to tie some characters together, at least as much as this girl's personality allows.

@Duoya I think with both characters being involved in sports clubs, they'd have spoken on a few occasions. I imagine Shoko would feel at least a small connection with Juichi through those interactions, due to the fact that they both similarly hide their worries behind a strong personality. Of course, neither would know that about the others stresses yet, but they might both have a sense.

@Veradana Maybe Shoko could have stood up for Hotaru on the few occasions where she's seen the latter being bullied? Perhaps Shoko, while the thought was there, never really did enough to do anything beyond stop the immediate instances of bullying that she saw, not knowing the extent of it while also being unsure how to even help more if it was worse than what she saw.

@XxFellsingxX I think it'd be neat if the two characters first meet because Miho asks Shoko for a small interview about the app for Miho's article, since it's probably seen as a little unusual for someone in Shoko's position to be playing it. I feel the two could grow especially close over time, judging by their personalities~

As a side comment, I think these four characters will interact really interestingly well with each other as a group, which is always exciting!
Reina Mori

Waiting with the gathered crowd which grew more and more impatient with each passing minute, Reina kept her head down glancing at all the interesting people for only a moment at a time. The knot in the girl's stomach, that had been there since last night, exploded as the crowd began to grow even rowdier. It took all she had to try and keep her quick as nullified as possible, though she knew her anxieties were causing her to involuntarily push everything around her away lightly every now and again, before she got it back under control.

Satisfied her quirk was zeroed out, she finally took the time to look up to see what had gotten the crowd even more worked up. Ah, the gates had finally opened. Reina found herself being swept along with the group, which didn't help her mood very much, but there was nothing she could do about it without coming off as a huge jerk. Accepting her fate, she waited until she finally got to the gate, and scanned her ID. The she was still closely surrounded by many people, it was nowhere near as bad as the bottleneck created by the gate, allowing her to finally relax her tense body if only slightly.

She eyed the guards with a frown as she decided to head with the flow of students going to the school's left wing entrance. As she half-jogged to keep up, her gaze moved to a female student who had made it up into a tree. Reina stared in curiosity as she watched the girl use her quirk to open a second-floor window and slip inside from one of the tree's branches. It was as impressive as it was interesting.

Reina's eyes shifted to one of the orbs that floated around her, frowning at it. If only she could replicate what she had done a month ago, she'd be able to enter the same window that the girl had unlocked. The short-haired girl bit her lip in a measure of frustration, cursing her complete lack of mastery over her quirk. She had to learn how to use it as soon as she could. It was the only reason she had gotten into this school to begin with.

"Oh my, Look at the time. It is 8:20, you kids better rush to class before you are marked absent. Chop Chop!"

The voice brought her attention back to her surroundings, now inside the school. The young man who had spoken--likely a teacher--continued, reminding them that being late meant being expelled. It was a little extreme and silly, the whole test they were being put through on the first day, Reina thought, but she was in no position to argue. She just had to get through it and make it to tomorrow.

Strange that this test involved... a minefield of the young teachers clones? The original seemed quite proud of himself, too. This wouldn't stop a quirkless person if they even had any determination to get through, let alone the future pro heroes that the obstacle was apparently meant for.

Reina glanced at a rather short boy who was the first to reply to the teacher. He sounded confident enough. And ready to try something, judging by the stance he had taken.

As expected, he showed off his quirk a moment later, earning a grimace from the girl at both the sudden loud noise caused by his breathing and the pop of both her ears.

"JET...HUNTING!"

Loud.

Reina frowned, not hiding her annoyance very well as she watched the boy take off. She swallowed a few times, trying to unpop her ears, growing more and more aggravated as this morning went on. The boy's quirk was certainly impressive, and coupled with his strong personality showed the girl that he belonged at an academy like this.

But that respect for him didn't stop her from finding him at least a little grating. It wasn't his fault, really. It was everything that had happened: the worry of being late all morning, being stuck in a crowd and pushed around, all her insecurities and anxieties... the ear popping was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Enough. She didn't think she deserved to be here--but this 'test' was almost insulting.

The girl stuffed her hands into her pockets and activated her quirk to repel--any students gathered near her would immediately feel it pushing them away from her. As she began walking briskly forward, she turned up the effect, to make sure none of the teacher's clones could approach her without a struggle. The table skidded across the floor, eventually toppling over as she approached it, and paint cans spilled over. She glanced to the original teacher with a frown, still feeling guilt for making an even bigger mess of the hall despite her annoyance.

"S-sorry..." she managed, quickly looking away and increasing her pace to get away from any lingering gazes.

Climbing the first set of stairs she found, Reina finally began to think about finding her way around. While it wouldn't be a big deal in any other situation, the fact that her school life was on the line made the normal stress of learning the layout of a new school much worse. She knew her class was somewhere on the third floor, at least.

As she turned to climb the next set of stairs, she looked around down the halls idly. She paused, noticing a figure in the distance, obscured through two sets of doors. Recognizing the pale-blonde hair, she realized it was the girl from before, who had entered the building through a window.

Without thinking too much about how close she'd be cutting it with how little time was left, Reina made her way through the first set of doors, and stood inside the second, holding it open.

"Hey... um, you trying to get to class?" she called to the girl, immediately cringing internally at the dumb question. Of course she was trying to get to class, literally every student in the school was trying to get to class right now. Stupid.

Avoiding eye contact in an attempt to stifle the mild embarrassment she felt, Reina motioned with her head towards the way she had come, indicating that's where they needed to go if they wanted to avoid expulsion on their first day.

I'm still here! Just hit a bit of a writer's block with my character. I'll do my best to at least get something up for tomorrow evening, since I'll be busy much of the weekend.
