Wanted to get a CS written up before I threw my hat in the ring here.
Name - Pano-Zu
Alias - Momentum
Age - 22
Home World - Xudar
Powers - Pano's no 12th level intellect but just like his species he's more than smart enough to give most scientists a run for their money. Most of his brain power however goes towards facts related to 21st century heroics, having an encyclopedic knowledge on the facts and heresy surrounding the heroes and villains of old. Where Pano's knowledge on Wonder Woman's skin car routine fall short, he makes up for in his main pride and joy; his connection with the speed force. Just like the Flashes of legends, Pano is capable of moving and thinking well above the upper limit of most living (and non-living!) individuals.
Weaknesses - Aside from being able to shrug off (most) of the effects of air's friction when traveling at superhuman speed, Pano is still as mortal as any man and capable of being stabbed, shot, blown-up, vaporized or anything else that could feasibly injure a human or fellow Xudarian. His powers are also limited by his scientific mind as his innate understanding of the forces of the universe make him skeptical of legendary speedster's feats. While most flashes could approach the speed of light, Pano's mental block limits him to (a still very impressive) rough speed of sound.
Personality - Enthusiastic, Skeptical, Unsure, Careful, Analytical
Appearance - A lanky Xudarian, sporting the beak and frill common to his people. His lively, orange skin is speckled with minor scars from past experiments. His costume emulates the hero Impulse's costume, sporting a pair of tinted goggles and a form fitting uniform with a stylized lightning bolt pattern going from neck down to his belt. His main difference in costume is the colors; Impulse's costume was believed to sport white, yellow and red while Momentum's was made up of Black, Blue and Silver.
Brief Bio - Superheroics was an obsession of Pano growing up. When most kids his age were working on dissertations and debating philosophy, Pano was on the Galactic Wide Web consuming Booster Gold movie relics and bidding on the last Carzarian's genuine chain-hook replicas. This obsession grew into his adulthood, only being bolstered with the rumours online that the superhero melting pot, Earth, was soon going to be home to a brand new hero team after a couple of contemporaries saved the United Planet's VP. Seeing this as a sign, Pano-Zu vowed to join the group.
Initially Pano attempted to emulate the Bat-Man of old; creating his own gadgets and training in martial arts. However his skill with his gadgetry and mastery over the martial arts was severely limited and resulted in him getting beat up on most of his outings. After a couple other, lower effort emulation attempts Pano went back to the drawing board and began trying to emulate famous heroes' origins. Many attempts resulted in many injuries; an hour long fit of paralysis and lethargy after taking his homemade hourman serum, many scratches and a fit of deafness as he tried to reanimate a long dormant Reach beetle and that's just to name a couple. His magnum opus came in the way of an accident. Picking up exotic chemicals for another super-serum, Pano's ship passed dangerously through a cosmic storm, getting struck by lightning and shattering the carried chemicals all over Pano. The Xundarian regretted his choice to become a hero in that moment as the burns, both thermal and chemical, wracked his nervous system. However, he soon found the pain subsiding quickly and his movements and mind speeding up. After a little experimentation, Pano-Zu realized he'd finally struck gold and forged a connection with the mythic Speed-Force. Without so much as a final goodbye to his home planet, Pano changed course and headed for Earth to apply for the Legion of Heroes.
