"Getting rather complacent in your little throne here, aren't we? I'd say you've even put on some weight."

"Hmph," She snarled. "Rude. If anyone has grown lazy in their ability, it is you, old man." She shifted upon the pile of gold which she was laying, her magnificent white wings laying idly at her side as she stared down at the wizened old mage. He had grown old and frail in his age. She could likely simply just end his miserable existence here, should she so desire. "What do you want? I have no desire to speak with you unless it pertains to our...agreement." The word was snarled with an obvious amount of distaste.

"As...prickly as ever, Sorcha." He sighed with a small smile.

"That's Lady Sorcha to you." She snarled again, narrowing her eyes threateningly at the man. "And why wouldn't I be? You and that idiot knight friend of yours drive out those barbarians and he's crowned as a king and you're hailed as a great wizard! What do I get for my hard work in making those silly little invaders piss their little pants simply from throwing a few lightning bolts at them? All I get is a measly sum of gold and a rather drafty castle!" She harrumphed, her wings flapping idly in mild annoyance. "A decidedly well-built and decent castle, but still! I was promised servants and land! Not to be so quickly forgotten!"

This only earned a laugh from the mage, who she promptly swatted over the head with the end of her wing. An action she had taken many, many times before.

"Don't laugh, you."

"Aha, sorry, my friend."

"We're not friends, wizard."

"Then why have you stood by my all these years, hmm?" A dangerous growl rose from her throat, but she said nothing. He was probably treading dangerous waters here, and he knew it.

"Insufferable little mage. As if I’ve had a choice. To think so boldly as to consider a being such as I your friend after everything you’ve done to me. That is why I hate your kind. Always thinking themselves so high and mighty. Little humans should simply stay where they belong so they don't get hurt."

"Oh my, is that concern, Lady Sorcha?" As the words barely left the older mages throat, he knew instantly he had gone just a step too far. In a flash, he was on the ground, pinned under her, the massive weight of a dragon forcing him into submission – crushing, him almost under just a single claw.

“Do not forget your place, human.” She snarled, dragging him along the ground to the edge of her pile of trinkets.“You are nothing to me. A fly. A measly little insect who bound me to its will because of its trickery.” She lifted her claw off of him, raising to her full height, completely dwarfing the wizard below her. She almost didn’t even fit inside of the room.

“Aha…forgive me,” He replied. “You are right, I suppose. I did force you into this contract, after all.”

“LEAVE.” Her voice made the entire room tremble, sparks of electricity arcing across the dusty air. “I have no desire to have further audience with you.”

“Perhaps you should let me speak, Lady Sorcha.” A claw slammed to the ground, right next to his body, strong enough to shake the foundation of the castle. The man did now flinch, however, and merely stared down the dragon with an unmoving, steely gaze.

“I have come to release you from your contract.” This earned a surprised gaze from the dragon, who retracted the clawed limb, staring down at the mage with a suspicious look.

“Are you…truthful, mage?”

“Indeed. Lord Arthur has driven back the barbarians…the realm is ate peace, for now. Though to the south there are murmurs of conflict breaking out, but…You have completed your duty and thus our agreement comes to an end.” The mage folded his hands behind his back, giving a tired sigh as he walked around the circular chamber. This quieted the dragon, though what emotions it was feeling on her scaly face was impossible to tell. “Is something wrong?

“Nay…I am merely…readjusting my short-term plans.”

“He has instructed I give you this token of his eternal gratitude when I release you from these vows.” The mage pulled a golden goblet out of his robes, and presented it to the dragon. Honestly, it was a small trinket. Incomparable to the rest of her treasures, but…

She reached down, taking the craft delicately between her claws, and inspecting it.

“…you may tell him I leave across the sea by tomorrow morn.” She laid back down upon her pile of treasure, whatever ire she felt towards the mage seemingly gone. Or perhaps it was replaced with something else, an emotion she didn’t quite understand herself. “If…if he wishes to see me off, then tell him to meet me here.”

“You intend to leave in that form, then?” The mage asked.

“It is the proper form for a being such as I. I have no attachment to the human guise you bestowed upon me. If I ever have need of it again, I have grown strong enough to guise myself without your help.” The mage simply bowed his head.

“I will inform him.”  He turned to leave, for he had already undone the vow. He had no further business here.

“…Merlin?” He paused only a moment. “Thank you.” This earned a laugh from the old wizard.

“Thanking me, are we? And here I thought you hated me.”

“Tsk. Silence you, I may be a dragon, but I know when to give my thanks to those who have...aided me.”

“Perhaps one day, we shall meet again, hmm?”

“Foolish wizard, when next we meet you’ll be nothing more than dust in the ground...but perhaps I can grace your grave with my presence.” His parting words to her, was nothing more than a jovial laugh, and a wave of his hand. She simply rested her head on her claws, and waited for nightfall.

A gentle breeze blew, stirring the dragon from slumber. Was that…a dream? She frowned slightly, eyes still closed. She rarely had dreams of that long ago. So young back then. Barely more than a child forced into a conflict she wanted no part of because of some stupid mage who was long dead by now. Her frowned deepened more. Yes, he was dead. She had made sure of that – she had killed him with her own hands, after all. It was a bit more complicated than that, but she had wished that was the last time they met…it would have been so much better that way.

She opened her eyes, the pain of earlier slowly was ebbing away, nowhere near as intense as it was, but still there. Always there. She had simply gotten used to it over the years. Made it bearable. Perhaps she was simply become numb to it. Whatever the case, it was gone now. How long had she been asleep? A few hours? Days? She doubted it was the latter. The director would have probably doodled on her face or something for giggles if she had. So a few hours then.

She yawned, stomach rumbling once again reminding her that she still hadn't eaten once that day. Ugh, how annoying. She hoped she'd be able to find a decent amount of food this late. Someplace with a decent amount of steak available. Maybe she could find a human to help her with that problem. Not that she immediately needed food, but it was a good idea to keep her energy up. She rolled over onto her stomach, a lazy, still half asleep look on her face. Then again, this ground was surprisingly good. Maybe it wouldn't hurt for just one more little nap...

Gah, no no. That wouldn't do.

The dragon pushed herself up, another loud yawn escaping her lips followed by a stretch. She gave her wings a flap, generating a large gust of wind in the process. Right then. Food and sleep could wait. She could just eat a large amount of what the humans call 'junk food' for now. They'd probably have some of those...vending machines? Around the campus or something. She sure they wouldn't miss one. Or two. If not, she'd could always extort ask some from people.

The Norns may have seen fit to give her a challenge, but she'd not let them keep her from sweet, delicious, food. So, with another flap of her wings and making sure her Glaive was where it was supposed to, she took back to the skies and headed back for the dorms, and it didn't take her long to arrive, landing in her earlier spot near the outdoor cafeteria.

Hmm...well, she said she wasn't going to make food a priority for now, but it seemed she somehow ended up back at the cafeteria.

...she'd blame A's shenanigans.

For now...well, surely there had to be a mage around here that was...worthy of a magnificent Familiar as herself. She'd just have to find them. The so called magus games she heard about, would be excellent for choosing her master, but it always helped to d a little...recon, before hand.
