Bio

Hello! Welcome to my little bio.

Not much to say, really. Just a horror game protag that likes writing and playing vidya games when I'm not being chased by the cosmic forces of darkness. (I'm a security guard that works night shifts usually).

Have some dancing medjed.

Anyone wanna take a guess as to what's happening in the mansion?

Not that I'm going to tell you if you get it right because spoilers.

~@The Irish Tree (NEP)~

Nephele left the interior of the house, heading to where Gerald had indicated the graveyard had been. Just a quick jog through the foyer, a hallway, and then out the backdoor that was located in the dining hall. Immediately upon exiting the back door and following a short dirt path towards the fenced off graveyard, there was a noticeable shift in the towns atmosphere. Despite the day now having started to shift into noon, there was a gloom that hung over the air as she stepped into the graveyard. Not to mention...the slight macabre, whimsical nature the entire graveyard itself gave off.

The trees seemed to twist at angles that just seemed ever so slightly off. A light mist hung over the ground as a few black birds observed the intruding dragon from above, cawing impertinently at her trespassing. Honestly, it almost seemed like the graveyard itself was pulled right out of some heavily embellished story. Thankfully it wouldn't take her long to find Geralds daughter. It was difficult to miss the blue-dressed girl wearing highly embellished clothing that was fit for a noble of some sort. Her back was turned to Nephele as she ran up. In fact, she seemed to be slowly practicing some sort of waltz by herself in front of a large stone grave of some sort where the path split into different directions.

As soon as the dragon made her way to her, it took a few seconds for the girl to notice her.

"WEH!?" Upon turning and noticing Nephele, the white haired girl did a rather comical and over exaggerated jump backwards, flailing her arms a bit before she held her arms in front of her protectively. Now that she was facing the dragon, it was easy to make out a few more distinctive features about her dress. On the left side of her head, was a blue butterfly-shaped hairpin holding her hair together and a masquerade mask was hanging form her neck, currently not in use. She appeared to be in her early twenties, and her short cut white hair was well kept and groomed.

"E-eh?" Upon taking a few seconds to collect herself she finally responded with a light laugh. "And here I thought I was the master spooker of people here. I must be gettin' rusty." She gave Nephele a bright grin, seemingly unbothered by her monstrous nature. "Soooo...who are you? Haven't seen you around the village before and we don't get many new people around here. Not some dastardly dragon hoping to snatch a princess and keep her all to yourself, are you?" She giggled at her suggestion.

@Eviledd1984 - Maria

Maria got the seemingly easy job. Just hang up a chandelier. Couldn't be too difficult, right? As Nephele left to fetch the mayors daughter. She would head up to the stairs easily enough without much trouble. Now that the house was all quiet, however, there was simply unsettling about it. It was quiet. Eerily so. The sort of cool, unsettling silence that could make a persons hair stand on end.

Still. Nothing else seemed out of the ordinary, and if she'd continue to the balcony where the Mayor had directed she'd find a length of strong rope tied to a series of pulleys that eventually reached the chandelier below. If Maria attempted to lift it, it would seemingly be lightweight, and easily moved despite a presumed heavier nature by Nephele. She'd find herself able to bring it up and tie it without too much of an issue. Almost too easily done.

When she was done however - she'd hear what sounded to be footsteps. Definitely not the kind that could be mistaken for old wood creaking or groaning. It was followed by the sound of something breaking and the sound of creaking, like something had been opened. The noises were coming from a room over, but the door was closed. The Mayor hadn't said they were alone, but with the silence in the rest of the mansion it seemed like they would have been alone.

Would she check the source of the noise? Or leave well enough alone?

@PaulHaynek@The Irish Tree

Arletta pulled her sword cleanly from the second hound, flourishing it in front of her as she readied to strike another blow. With at least three of the five or six hounds now defeated, they would hopefully back off, but the furious bellow from Magnus seemed like it might be a bit too much to hope for. She barely had time to react to Magnus's fury as the axe slammed into the stagecoach, eye widening a bit at the Minotaur's rage.

The last remaining hound snarled at Magnus, slowly backing away from the enraged monster before bolting away, whimpering as all the hounds bit it had met an untimely end. The dullahan sighed, glad the battle was over as she walked over to Magnus who was consoling his newly gifted tunic.

"Aha..." Arletta chuckled. "I'm certain she won't be too upset, Magnus." Arletta said. "Although, typically wearing clothing into battle is going to get it roughed up a little." Ah, hmm, maybe she could by him some armor at some point? Shouldn't be too hard...well, getting armor to fit a minotaur might actually prove a little difficult. Anyways...Arletta turned to the man on the stagecoach.

"Hey, you alright up there!"
Miren, Maoin, Sorcha, Sol.

Miren remained silent, not commenting on what was happening to Katherine and Meowka. It wans't her business, and she was staying out of it. Besides, Katherine was a bit scary when she was angry.

"O-okay then." The rabbit replied, shaking her head and turning to the group. "A-alright everyone! It's finished now!"

"I'll have a talk with this Chimaera later." Sorcha frowned. Well, it was good Maoin was alright at least, but she didn't like the fact this supposed Chimaera attacked her. She should be grateful the thing wasn't intentionally hostile at least. The venom was likely a precaution in case Maoin had been hostile. She gave Maoin a pat on the head, pushing her gently off of her. "For now though...I insist you eat something." Before she could drag Maoin over to the food however, Luna approached her with news of Marie. She didn't like Luna helping Marie, ever since what she did to Maoin the dragon had a made a point to treat the demon in a mostly civil manner...but she wouldn't be that upset if something happened to her. It was mostly the fact that the demon had betrayed her trust, really. Well, no matter.

"...Be careful, Luna." Sorcha replied in response to where she was going after Marie. "If whoever is after her is still around then its likely they're waiting." The dragon turned back to Maoin.

"Come, Maoin. Food is always good for the healing process." She began walking over to the table where Miren had seemingly now finished preparing it. "And yes, that is an order. Even if you do not eat much, I expect you to at least eat something."

"Weh?!" The Wyrm gave a surprised sounding, though decidedly 100% adorable yelp as Sol pressed firmly on her forehead. She didn't get much room to complain or talk to Sol before the tiny human hopped off her back and grabbed her by the hand. Avaline was careful to avoid using her claws on Sol. Even in a resting state, they would have been harmful. She slithered over to where Miren was cooking with Sol.

"Ah...?" Avaline listened intently to how the utensils were used, doing her best to take them into account. Honestly, knives and forks sounded just like pale imitations of her claw. The spoons, though. She held a spoon in front of her, eyes sparkling like she had laid eyes on the greatest thing in the world. "Tiny human this...Spoon, you said it was." She made the motion of 'eating' with it like Sol showed her. "Ahaha, this is the most amazing thing I've ever seen." She pulled the spoon towards her face, hugging it. "Ah, it's so adorable and useful! I can use it do drink things without going to the river!" She perked up, quickly taking a look around the camp. "A-ah! Where's master Luna? I must show her the wonders of the spoon!"

...Avaline was probably too easy to amuse.

Marie, Luna.

Without the sun, the forest had become much darker. Shadows had grown long and Luna had walked far enough for the idle chatter of the camp to have faded into the night. Without her ability to make light, she'd very likely not be able to see very far. As for the target of her search, Marie seemed to be nowhere to be found. Or at least, she wasn't letting Luna know of her whereabouts. Perhaps she wanted to be alone? Perhaps she just didn't want to deal with Luna. Whatever the case was, it seemed that Luna wasn't going to find her unless the demon wanted her too.

"... here's after my life."

Soon though, she'd make out Marie's voice among the dark forest. She seemed to be talking to someone.

"Scared? Please. That emotion is foreign to me." She scoffed. If Luna followed the voice, she would eventually find the demon hiding among the trees. "I want my arsenal." There was silence as whoever she was speaking to likely replied, but their voice wasn't able to be heard by Luna though it was likely Marie was talking to her mom or someone similar. "I don't care!" She snarled. "I can't rely on these pathetic humans to help me. No, rather, I refuse to let myself be so weak." Silence again as the second party replied. "...FINE! I've had to work with less. I don't need any more than that." After all - it wasn't like she was going to lose any fight anyways if she actually tried doing it.

She was the absolute best at everything, after all.

"Tsk...I hate that bitch." Marie growled. By now, Luna would likely make out two, feathery black wings jutting out from Marie's back, wrapping around her like a cloak as she seemed to study something in her hand. Before she could greet Marie however, the demon swiftly turned to face her.

The human barely had time to react before there was a flash of bright, white light slammed into the ground in front of her. A spear had embedded itself into the ground, illuminating the area in an oddly unsettling light. It would have made most humans uneasy, at any rate.

"Humph. It's you. And here I thought it would be whoever convinced that repulsive creature to attack me. Didn't I tell you to leave me alone?" The spear of light embedded into the ground faded from existence, leaving nothing of its presence behind except scorch marks around the ground and a hole where it had just been. "What's the matter?" Suddenly, her mouth turned into a seemingly flirtatious smirk as she fixed Luna with a playful look. "Worried about little 'ol me? Scandalous. Won't your dragon be jealous? Not that I mind being the target of your affections, human. Feel free to grovel and tell me how great I am whenever you want."

The two black wings fluttered for a moment before settling again.
Hmm~

Potentially interested, if you still got room.
I'll need to see more before making any commitments though.
Miren, Maoin, Marie, Luna, Sorcha, Sol.

Sorcha's eyes widened when the kitten finally woke. First, she felt amusement. Second, she felt minor irritation. Third she couldn't help but to feel concerned as this was sorely out of character for the kitten. She the dragons mouth turned upwards into a grin as she chuckled softly, giving Maoin a pat on the head, helping the kitten steady herself.

"Uncivilized Mongrel, am I?" She teased. "My, if you're feeling that energetic you should burn off some extra energy with a few laps around this castle, don't you think?" She didn't let the kitten actually even consider doing that for a second however. "And that was a joke, by the way Maoin. Is something the matter, little one? You look exhausted. Surely prowling around a simple ruin has not tired you so?" She could wait on the food for now, she needed to make sure everything was alright with the kitten.

"I need no teaching tiny human! I know exactly what cooking is." As if to demonstrate, a gout of flame left Avaline's jaw, launching itself straight up into the air as she smugly held her hands on her hips. Smoke sizzled out of her nostrils for a few seconds as she continued. "It is when I burn my prey alive, obviously!...but I see no prey here so there is nothing to cook." She seemed far too proud of herself.

Well, she wasn't wrong since the food had already been cooked, but she wasn't right either.

"...but I still fail to see food." She frowned, shoulders drooping a bit as she realized she hadn't solved that problem. "I can smell it but all I see is some weird green stuff." She gave a sideways glance towards the storm drake before glancing over to the rabbit and a table full of vegetables as a seemingly stroke of supposed genius overcame her, grinning smugly again. "...Yes, yes, tiny human bring me the food that is hiding from me and the you-ten-sils with which to dine with."

Hah, she was a genius after all.

Marie for the most part was enjoying her alone time with a bowl of stew taken from Miren when Luna walked up. She didn't look at her - just kept her eyes focused on the bowl she was eating out of as the Knight talked. Ugh, why turn that disgusting thing into a familiar of all things? Would have been better just to kill it. Though, she supposed it could have made a nice pet. When Luna finished speaking though, she couldn't help but to start laughing.

"WOW." Marie laughed holding a hand to her forehead. "Someone wants to kill me. I can think of a dozen people right off the top of my head." She placed the bowl on the wagon, hopping off and stretching a bit. "Hello, princess of hell here? I've had people after my cute butt since I could barely walk. One more isn't too different. Knowing that someone out here wants me dead though...that narrows down the list since only a handful of people know I'm here." She turned to face Luna, pressing her face almost uncomfortably close to hers now.

"That is to say, I don't need your help. So leave me alone, alright? I have better things to do than to mingle with the likes of you." She left, walking out towards the edge of the camp and away from the others.

Seemed like she wanted to be alone for now.

Even from here, the Manor could be seen sitting atop a small hill overlooking the town, situated far in the back. The thing looked to be old but well kept with a number of workers heading to and from it every now and then. Really, nothing seemed too out of the ordinary if one took things at face value.

"Maria and Nephele! A pleasure indeed." The jovial man chuckled brightly, motioning for them to follow him into the village. "I give you a formal and friendly welcome to Aspenmourne. It's really a shame we don't get much more travel these days. Absurd rumors of our lovely village being haunted, of all things." He scoffed, as if the very notion of it was absurd. "Ah, but no matter. You probably don't care about such baseless rumors." As they walked through the seemingly bustling streets, the mayor exchanged greetings with a number of the villagers. A few said hi to Nephele and Maria as well, but for the most part they were allowed to move unhindered through the village, and soon they had reached the hill that led up to the manor.

"All very good questions, my dear Nephele." He replied once they were standing in front of the manor. "To put simply, the play we will be performing is missing the 'hero' of the event, so to speak. The man I hired seems nowhere to be found and with the main event happening tomorrow that simply won't do." He grinned. "So! I recently became aware of your guild and thought - why, what better way to have an authentic heroic exploit by an adventurer themselves!" He laughed jovially, seemingly quite pleased with his solution. "Don't worry, we already have the villain set in place as well as the 'damsel in distress' as it were. All you two will be required to do is recite a few lines and perhaps have a little improvisation during the climax."

He opened the door to the manor, holding the door open for the two of them to enter.

The interior of the mansion, once they walked in was well lit and smelled of both fresh paint and a little sawdust. The foyer was as impressive as the walls of the exterior seemed to suggest. Polished, clean tile floors shined with obvious care. Expensive furniture lined a few of the walls and an old grandfather clock was situated against one wall. A few paintings donned the walls, and a stairwell alongside the left wall led up to the places second floor. The only thing that seemed out of place is a chandelier that was sitting on the floor. A system of pulleys seemed ready to pull the thing into the air, and secure the rope to the second floor.

"Agh, I thought they had already... " He grumbled, shaking his head. "If one of you wouldn't mind helping get that chandelier in place...there should be a place to tie on the second floor's back wall, near the railing." He began walking, passing by them. "If one of you also wouldn't mind fetching my daughter so we could begin rehearsal a bit so you can get a feel for your roles, that would be much appreciated. She'll likely be out back in that graveyard of all places...I don't see what she likes so much about that place..." He shook his head, leaving them to do their respective tasks. "I shall be in the ballroom making sure everything is ready."

There were a number of new people in the guild, weren't there? A dragon, Mothwoman, and even a...preistess of some sort. Odd, especially that last one. A shame she didn't have much time to introduce herself at the moment. She had an excitable minotaur to keep up with. She glanced at Magnus as he hurriedly ran back inside for his axe, shaking her head and grinning at Magnus' excitement. Well, that was one way to get motivated and get ready for the incoming mission. The Dullahan followed Magnus hurriedly out of the guild house. "Ah jeez...wait up Magnus!" She called after him.

The trek was a fast one, if not too eventful one for the first part of their trek. She was looking forward to visiting another town. Maybe she'd be able to keep her head on this time and not screw things up so much. Well, no matter she'd do her best. That was all anyone could do. It seemed trouble had found them, however. An overturned stagecoach with a man stranded on top of it - and some sort of beasts attacking him. Magnus was first to act, charging in head first with his axe, which she quickly followed up on. Brandishing her demon silver blade, she rushed behind the coach. Now that Magnus had drew their attention, she circled around and attacked them from behind. An intimidating bellow came from Magnus, providing a perfect distraction and intimidation to make sure she didn't get noticed - at least, not easily.

The Dullahan lunged forward, speedily cleaving her sword into the side of one of the beasts from behind, careful to avoid their stinger-like tails. She followed it up, speedily aiming to stab a second right in its side, hopefully skillfully executing both and taking out two more before they even knew what had happened.

"H-harlequin Creme Brulee?..." She had no idea what that even was, but Cyril suggested it. Mis seemed to take the suggestion though, so it could have been anything bad, right? "E-erm, sure!" She purchased some, not entirely sure what to expect. From something Cyril suggested. And a random flavor too! Ooh, she was a bit concerned she'd get something terrible like something spicy or pickle-flavored. When the treat was finally handed to her, she gave it a good look over, frowning beneath her hood. W-well, Mis always told her to try new things...

She hesitantly took a bite of the sweet, and was pleasantly surprised.

"Ah...Orange..." Her shoulders visibly relaxed as she took another bite of it. Did people know she liked oranges? She should maybe tell people at some point? She didn't get much time to enjoy the treat though, as a shadow from overhead indicated Ria was making her way towards the announcement area.

"A-ah, uhm, if you don't mind!" Taking Mis' offer, Ceri climbed onto her back and up onto her shoulders, and soon she had a pleasant view of the entire area and could easily make out both Ria and master Delsin. She quieted herself as the announcement began, nervously holding onto the collar of her robe as she hoped it wouldn't be anything too difficult as she listened with rapt attention, continuing to eat the treat in her hands.

A qualifying stage where she'd be placed in a team, told to take a S-class mission, and then participate in a Proving stage that seemed to consist of a fight of some sort. Okay...if that was it, then it wasn't so bad. She could handle a mission easily enough. I-it couldn't be that much more difficult than what she was used to doing. The fight after though...oooh, she might end up fighting someone from Golems hand - o-or even someone from her own guild! She liked the idea of that even less! What if she had to fight Mis, Saeko, Cyril or...

She took a deep breath, shaking her head. Right right. Useless thoughts. Focus on the positives. Like the fact she wouldn't have to really do anything with Golems Hand in the qualifying stage. For now, at least.

It was then she realized she spilled some of the Creme Brulee on Mis's head while she wasn't paying attention.

"...Ah, u-uhm. Mis you've...got...something in your hair..."

Heyo~

Wasn't sure if you had anything for the three-four people near Lyra mentioned in your post but I sent Mien towards 'em to say hi.
~Deseri~

Then the landing came.

The cell block slammed into the earth of the planet, tearing and wrecking its way through the jungles trees and the soil, tumbling like a drunk ballerina as pieces of wreckage and metal debris flung itself from the side of the ship. Deseri managed to stay conscious through all of it - her mostly metal body doing well to absorb most of the damage from tumbling around like a piece of clothing in a dryer. It came to a screeching halt, her body slamming against the wall. Thankfully the reinforced walls of her cell had held. It seemed her prison might have in fact, saved her life.

As the cellblock settled, she pulled herself off the floor - wall? Ceiling? Whatever. Irrelevant. She stood, her systems running a brief maintenance check for any major damage as swarm settled on her body like a thick black cloud as they returned to her body. She gave the large metal doors in front of her a look over, the metal on her left arm shifting and pulsing as though it was alive, the metal stake that normally made up her arm shifting into something else.

Hephaestus Prototype online.

She glanced over to where the one-way mirror was in her cell. Built specifically so someone could keep an eye on her, but she couldn't see them. Made of sturdy reinforced glass with structural supports from nano-fibers. It'd be able to take a beating usually, and with the AA field on she hadn't been able to do much with it...now though? Heh...

~~~~~
"Ugh, damn it what the hell happened..."
"Fuck-you alright?"
"Do I look alright-goddamn it-shit..." One of the guards was clutching his shoulder - a piece of metal had impaled him, though it probably looked worse than it was.
"Shit...the entire cellblocks fucked-"
thump
"Hey did you-"
Crrrack
The sound of glass fracturing filled the immediate area as they turned to the window.
"Shit! The Anti-Aggression field's offline! We gotta meet up with the others-" He helped the other guard stand before both of them began bolting for the nearest in-tact exit they could find. As damaged as the ship was - it couldn't be that difficult to find an exit.
Unfortunately, they didn't get very far.
The glass shattered, Deseri stepping through calmly, glass crunching as her feet met the ground on the other side. Curious - she had never seen the other side of the ship before except save for small glimpses through the doors occasionally. They had made sure to temporarily blind her in case she had escaped. Likely thought she wouldn't be able to find her way around the ship, if that was the case.
Fuel reserves at 9%
Anti Aggression-field offline.
Recommended action: Begin conversion of Organic matter into fuel.
"Hmm..." She found a small smile forming on her lips as she observed the guards fleeing, deciding running and regrouping was likely the better option than sticking around. The option that gave them the best chance, according to her calculation...still. She needed fuel, and they were ripe for the taking. The swarm demanded it...and well, she couldn't say no. She bolted after them, a cold, neutral expression plastered on her features as her heavier metal footsteps clanked against the ground as she gave chase. They may have been fast - but it was no question she was faster.
She jumped - lunging at the one in the back, her mouth curling into a sadistic grin as the stake impaled the man right through his back. He crumpled instantly, falling to the ground with her on top of him. She pulled the spike from his back, kneeling on top of him as she took a look around. More fighting was starting to break out - she wouldn't have time to completely convert him into fuel peacefully like this.
In other words, she'd have to find another source that she could easily convert without the chance of getting shot at by another guard.
"Heh, looks like I was right. You are going to die first." Her expression returned to normal as the metal on her arm began to reshape itself into a long, sharp blade. "But first..." She slammed the blade into his right arm - the metal making a precision cut right through his uniform and severing it cleanly. "A little snack for the road, hmm? Maybe if you had been a bit nicer we'd have let you live...but we get a little irritable when we're hungry." Without another word she bolted, taking the severed arm with her.
Fighting wasn't going to do her any good for now. Only burn the limited energy she had to spare, and the swarm and her agreed - flee, get their bearings, and possibly maybe even find 'allies' either among the inmates or guards. Whichever was easiest. Making her way out of the cell block, she was greeted with a jungle - a cursory examination proved that the place was indeed, rife with organic matter that she could convert into fuel.
She made her way some distance into the jungle, enough to still hear the ensuing fight at her cellblock, but far enough away to be out of sight. She held the severed arm in front of her.
Well, wouldn't be the first time since she became like this, and it'd be a shame to let it go to waste.
@Raylah
"Urf...feels like the morning after a party..." She groaned, as her senses came back to her. The first thing she noticed as her vision returned, was that she was laying face down in a pool of blood. "Well at least it's not mine..." With the AA field offline, her NLF was working a full capacity again and could give her a fairly good readout on her vitals. Nothing major - just a few scrapes, bruises, and maybe a sprained wrist. She pushed herself up as a loud clanging noise was heard from the hallway. Likely the other prisoners and guards getting friendly with each other.
"Oof, well that was a fun party, yoooou-you're dead." She glanced over to the other side of her cell. Well, what had previously been her cell. It had been shredded, right in half, split right down the middle. The guard that had been in her room just moments before, had his head squished beneath a pile of debris like a grape, the rest of his body hanging limply over the edge to the cell that was below hers. "Well saves me the trouble at least..." She chuckled lightly to herself as she got her bearings.
Right, first thing first she should decide on a course of action. She couldn't keep wearing this same old drab set of clothes, no. First thing first, she was gonna take that guys uniform. Ugh, being confined to just this was annoying. It just wasn't flattering or attractive at all. Now, a uniform on the other hand? Now that was an article of clothing she could get behind. She undressed the dead guard, quickly pulling over the uniform and discarding her old pile of clothes, grabbing the standard issue pistol he had with him. Nothing fancy, but it would at least let her defend herself, to an extent. With any luck she wouldn't be doing that at all. The silver goo around her body shifted, settling to a human with a pale skin tone and amber colored eyes.
No one would think twice about her now, as long as she could play her cards right. She could be quite convincing if she had need of it. As long as she didn't run into any of the more hostile and clearly crazy prisoners.
Finally disguised, Mien bolted from the cell, her NLF giving her a cursory preview of the ships layout and structural integrity, easyily getting into the now defenseless wireless systems. Her first goal was simple - get out of the cell and find some amicable people. Ones she could...coerce to do as she wanted. If not, then find a way off this heap of rocks. At least she didn't draw the attention of the guards currently engaged with the prisoners in the chaos thanks to her uniform.
She climbed from the wreckage, leaving the ship and the other inmates behind. A good thing too, something was roaring in the distance. A shriek that sounded like the wail of the damned echoed through the forest, through the burning metal of the wreckage and the gunshots of the prisoners and guards. Seemed like this jungle might have had a few nasty surprises for them. Quickly though, her footsteps carried her into the jungle and out of immediate danger.
A nice little breather. Enough to catch her breath and gather her thoughts.
Well, if she didn't pick up the sound of a group of people moving nearby. She pressed herself against a tree. Three or four people. Male from the sound of their voices. Prisoners or guards, she couldn't tell from where she was behind the tree. It didn't matter at the moment, really. A few less prisoners or a few less guards to initially worry about would benefit her in the long run. Besides - some of the guards weren't exactly the nicest of people either, from what she knew about some of them. Not that she'd particularly even care if they were.
So steadying her aim, she pulled the stolen pistol and aimed for the targets head.
Six shots rang out as she unloaded a few rounds into the people in front of her, hopefully easily eliminating the targets.
