Appearance:Standing at roughly five foot seven, Maye is an impressive woman with a physique befitting of a veteran status - if mildly unhinged. Maye is a product of a person being thrust into the Dragons since she was sixteen, having eagerly and early volunteered for the position upon seeing the destruction the Shard had wrought first hand. She has bright, yellow colored eyes with hair a color of white and dark, chocolate colored skin. The Pilot has a lithe, muscular physique, with toned muscles and and overall healthy appearance. Maye carries herself with a confident, poised, mildly arrogant and aggressive manner as though she's always anticipating trouble. Several scars adorn her body, and the left side of her body has some severe burn scarring.
A wild, almost feral smirk is always plastered on her lips.
Personality:Wild, aggressive, and arrogant, but passionate, reliable, and overprotective. Maye is a battle hardened vet that has been doing this since she was just sixteen years old, and her personality has adjusted to reflect that. Maye's personality can be described as the following: Those who hunt beasts, must become beasts themselves. She often leaves a rather poor first impression upon people with her rough, irreverent, and overall overbearing personality. This is not something she goes to great lengths to correct by any stretch. No, people should indeed, look up and respect her. Bow before her, follow her lead for she is the one that will lead humanity to their next sunrise.
At least, that is what she truly believes.
Maye has a strong conviction in herself and her beliefs, believing she would be the one who will bring humanity salvation against the Shard. Indeed, she sees the countless battles and confrontations she's already survived as proof of that, and she almost thinks herself invincible. A troubling belief, most of the time, but perhaps at times such confidence and overbearing belief in both herself and those around her is exactly what humanity needs.
However, hardly anyone knows how Maye truly is. No, they all die before they can truly and well know her. Maye has seen countless, so many humans die at the hands of the Shard. Friends. Allies. Comrades...a lover. Maye knows loss. She knows the pain of it - and knows better than anyone the strain, horror, and terror that comes with being a pilot and fighter against the shard and she will stop at nothing to make certain that no one will ever suffer at their hands, claws, or whatever they have ever again.
Deep down, Maye is a huge nerd. Before she became a pilot, she was just a kid who played too many video games and read one to many fantasy novels with her friends. She desperately wants to go back to those peaceful, blissful days...
Biography:twelve years ago
twelve years ago is when everything fell apart.
Maye was living on the edge of civilized space, though not quite close enough to the Line for the Shard to be considered a threat. An average life, of a girl playing video games who never once thought about the Shard or becoming a pilot in the least. All she wanted to do was beat the last boss in her video game, laze around all day and make fun of her dork of a sister. Ask that girl what she thought about the war, and she'd say 'eeeeh, too much work.'
When she was sixteen, too much work showed up at her doorstep.
No one quite knows how the Shard got there, to the planet, but the simple fact was, that they did, and the planet was lost to the horde of machines known as the Shard. Screaming. death. Maye lost her parents, saw them ripped limb from limb. Her sister was crushed by debris. The suddenness of the attack, the ill preparedness of the military, and the scramble to mount rescue efforts meant only a handful survived...and as far as Maye knows, she was the only one who did, picked up by a military squad days after the initial attack, half starved and almost mentally broken with terror.
Yet, this very fact that she managed to survive at all, marked her as a very good candidate for the front lines. With nowhere else to go, she was pressed into military service when she was sixteen, and as far as her relatives were concerned, she was killed that day. She was quickly acclimated, and young enough to make the biology altering surgeries acclimate and take root without more severe complications. She was quickly paired with one of the more ornery and violent dragons, a tough one by the name of Bennu as she had the most compatibility with it.
Surprisingly, the two quickly became bonded and easily began their work as soldiers without too many complications. For the next twelve years, she acted as one of the front line soldiers. A ward against the Shard. A light in the darkness of space, a new Sun for humanity to rally behind. She became known for both her ruthlessness, unrelenting assaults, and her inability to accept defeat of any kind.
Fast forward twelve years, and she's one of the oldest serving Pilots, and has seen more than people twice her age will ever see. Now she has been given a different task. A task of leading a new troop of Dragons and their pilots...and a prototype. Curious. So very curious, and perhaps a bit fun! A fitting task, for one such as herself.

Affinities:Her ruthless self assured demeanor, arrogant and unbreakable willpower in the face of the Shard, even if having to face them alone. Her desire to see humanity to their new future and ability to survive regardless of the odds around her.
Faults:Being overprotective of new pilots at cost to herself. She will often put herself directly in the line of fire and take a blow she doesn't need to take. Couple this with the belief she herself can be killed by some Shard, and her generally 'I am invincible' attitude, she has had more than one close call over the years.
When it comes to decision making, Maye dislikes it when other people overrule or override her decisions. She will take no back talk, no input unless she asks for it, and
no amount of back seat gaming.
