Look:
While no one can quite agree on the finer points of Skobeloff's appearance, there are enough common broad strokes to allow for a recognizable description. He's slightly shorter than most dragons his age and most of his body is the color of his namesake. But his extremities gradually become either bluer or greener the further away from his torso they go. The one thing everyone agrees on, though, is that Skobeloff is rarely ever without a smile on his face.

You see the truths that everyone else avoids. They are so gullible, misled by the sweet lies of those who know better. And you do know better, enough to trick everyone into doing things your way. Make sure your clutch knows how they’ve been duped, how they dance like puppets on your strings. You are the Trickster. Return from your Shadowself when a friend convinces you that some dragons will stand with you of their own free will.

Fellwing is a fellow prankster, a lover of tricks and jokes just like you. Explain how they once got one over on you, and give them a Friendship Gem.
Fellwing. Seer, clutchmate, and the only Non-Trickster on the Moonlit Isles who can outsmart me. As a Trickster, the importance of the Long Game has been drilled into me for as long as I can remember. And for the most part, it has served me well. But since I've been taught to focus so much on the Long Game, I now have something of a... blind spot when it comes to the short term. A blind spot that the Darkness must have whispered to Fellwing at some point. Because every time I pull a prank on her, her payback is swift, sudden, and never fails to foil one of my myriad plans for the future.Skobeloff

You know Stargaze looks to you when they want to get into trouble. Ask them how you exemplify their virtue and take a Friendship Gem from them.
Stargaze. Orphan, clutchmate, and the sweetest cinnamon roll I know. And because of that last part, it was simply mind boggling to learn that some of the other drakes were picking on her. I learned this when she came to me for my expertise in all things mischievous. She was sick of the bullying and demeaning she was getting from the other drakes and wanted my help in serving them a slice of 'humble pie' as she put it. And so we devised what would come to be known as the Amphora Incident, my finest work. Few dare speak its name. None dare talk of the events that transpired during it. But all know that when the smoke cleared, Stargaze's bullies were left in utter humiliation. Since then, none have dared to give Stargaze or any other member of my clutch trouble for fear of inspiring me to devise something even more terrible than what came before.Skobeloff

Shieldwing gave you their trust and confidence at a time when you knew you didn’t deserve it. Ask them why they believed in you, and give them a Friendship Gem.
Shieldwing. Warrior, clutchmate, and the reason I'm even in a clutch at all. When my teachers first slipped past the Guardians and led me away, I didn't realize that my upbringing being affected by 'yōkai mischief' would make the Guardians and the other drakes my age wary enough of me to make finding a clutch difficult. I still would have gone if I had known though, and in all fairness they were right to be on their guard. My teachers taught me a great many fun tricks and I was eager to try them all out. By the time I was done, I'd more than justified the caution. But even so, Shieldwing came to me all the same and invited me to join his clutch. I never bothered asking why he extended the invitation to me despite my reputation for shenanigans. If it was out of some Brynback prattle, I'd rather be spared the lecture. And if it was for some other reason, I'd rather the mystery of not knowing the whole story.Skobeloff

Quillfeather (He/Him): An Academic and a fellow member of House Myndoth. The books he carries with him are Dagon’s History of the War with Darkness, Fafnir von Grimtooth’s Famous Moments in Dragon History, and Dewlash De Golderin’s Guide to the Creatures of Adulare. Skobeloff has a Doc and Marty sort of relationship with him.

Shifter (They/Them): A Trickster of House Tessith. Skobeloff is engaged in an ongoing prank war with them and also inherited the vagueness of his appearance from them, though they have no concrete features or colors like Skobeloff has.

Colorspray (She/Her): A Daredevil of House Semscale. Her beast companion is a parrot, which has left Skobeloff unable to see any difference between monsters and beasts. She takes part in the prank war between Skobeloff and Shifter as a mercenary of sorts.

Redwing (He/Him): A Rebel who used to belong to House Brynback before renouncing his allegiance to it. Skobeloff used to aid him in his rebellious activities, but then he got it in his head that the Council of Elders and the Great Dragon Houses simply had to go. Soon after, he then became his Shadowself, went on the run, and is now plotting to feed Yves to the Cloudstalker.

Greenclaw (She/Her): A Nature Adept of House Tessith. Skobeloff only met her once, during which she taught him how to tend a small garden that he has kept to this day. After that first meeting, she decided that dragons and nature don't mix, became her Shadowself, and fled into the wilderness to make ready for the day she leads the wild to 'take back' the Moonlit Isles.

Screwfix Cogjaw (They/Them) (It): A Crafter of House Kebros. They lost their bottom jaw during their first Rite of Aging and crafted a replacement out of wood and steel. Upon seeing how much better the replacement was than the bottom jaw they lost, they began replacing more of themself with machinery. Skobeloff had a Frankenstein and Igor relationship with them for a time, then they became their Shadowself, renounced their dragonhood, changed their name, and retreated into a Darkness-haunted ruin of ancient and long forgotten technology on the edge of the Moonlit Isles to prepare a campaign of mechanization against all Adulare.


Blanc (Dre/Drem): An Academic of House Semscale. The book dre carries with drem is Lung-Kwan’s Famous Dragons and What They Did. Blanc and Skobeloff don't really see each other all that much. And while he has no solid evidence to back it up, Skobeloff has this vague feeling that it's because Blanc is afraid of him.

Chrome (They/Them): A Crafter of House Rothscar. Their mediums are writing, directing, and instruments. They aspire to leave behind a great theatrical legacy. Skobeloff aids them in this goal whenever he can.

Rainbow (He/Him): A Daredevil of House Rothscar. His beast companion is a snigen (a snake/pig/chicken) called Breakfast. Named after the fact that it lays a few eggs and sheds its skin every morning. The eggs are delicious and the shed skin can be turned into an equally tasty bacon. Rainbow sometimes shares the surplus with Skobeloff.

Cobalt (He/Him): An Elementalist of House Myndoth. He most often uses his elemental constructs as a way to cast shadow magic without exposing himself to its dangers. Skobeloff is slightly concerned by this habit.

Confetti (Dre/Drem): An Envoy of House Brynback known for their high society parties. Skobeloff makes a habit of gatecrashing any event hosted by drem.

Marigold (She/Her): A Nature Adept of House Myndoth. She is a precious cinnamon roll whose default reaction to even the most minor issue or decision is to consult her spirit guide and do whatever it says. Everyone who knows Marigold have, at one point or another, taken the spirit aside and explained to it in great detail the consequences that taking advantage of this over reliance will bring.

Zahavel (They/Them): An Orphan on the Path of Trials. They were raised by angel society rather than dragon society. Quillfeather, a good friend to the angels of New Nicaea, brought Zahavel to the Moonlit isles around the same time Skobeloff and his siblings left the Hatchery. This caused some of them, Skobeloff included, to see Zahavel as something of an adopted sibling. The Seers have foretold a prophecy that Zahavel will discover a dark secret of the Moons and uncover a shadowy, dragon conspiracy. Zahavel eagerly seeks to bring about this prophecy and Skobeloff helps them where he can.

Nova (She/Her): A Rebel who cut ties with House Kebros under encouragement from Redwing prior to his fall to the Darkness. She really enjoys using the stand up to a superior move, to the point that using it is a kneejerk reaction to encountering anyone older than her. She is also Skobeloff's chief co-conspirator in his plot to return Redwing from his Shadowself.

Mosaic (He/They): A Seer of House Semscale. He mysteriously appears from time to time, gives some sort of warning or advice in alliterative verse, and then vanishes as quickly as they arrived.

Terracotta (She/They): A Warrior of House Brynback. She possesses a large and valuable hoard and recently became affiliated with the Ancestral Guardians, a highly controversial movement of Warriors who augment their combat prowess with shadow magic and then look to other clutches' example to keep from becoming their Shadowselves. Skobeloff has been keeping a close eye on Terracotta for any sign of them succumbing to the same dangers that have already claimed half of their parents.


Natsuki (She/Her): A kitsune who taught Skobeloff the ways of charm and trickery, as well as how to play the Long Game. She is 634 years old, has seven tails, and possesses powers rivalling that of a bearded dragon. Natsuki wanted the lessons that she and the other teachers had taught Skobeloff to come as second nature to him. So she put a spell on him that made it impossible for Skobeloff to recall what he learned from them if he actively thinks about it, forcing him to rely on instinct instead.

Shogu (He/Him): An oni who taught Skobeloff how to be courageous and act despite danger. He is old enough to possess the strength and intellect needed to make stone kanabō clubs, putting him on the same level as a bearded dragon. In his own words, his favorite activities are as follows: "Fighting, feasting, and... fings you're too young to know about."

Zakuya (He/Him): A tengu who was meant to teach Skobeloff how to be cunning. Instead of doing that though, he tricked Skobeloff into doing various chores by claiming they were lessons in disguise. Natsuki had to pick up the slack as a result, and made Zakuya pay for it by having Skobeloff prank the tengu relentlessly as a final exam.

Kuaru (He/Him) and Kyoumibu (He/Him): A pair of Shinigami who taught Skobeloff how to use shadow magic. The malevolent Kuaru did so because he wanted to nudge Skobeloff down a dark path. Meanwhile, the morbidly curious Kyoumibu did so simply to see what Skobeloff would do with such power.
