Bio

Long timer roleplayer, been at it for... god, almost 15 years now all told. Hasn't been all sunshine and roses, but I like to think I've improved somewhat steadily as time has gone on.

I generally like to play older characters, or at least toward the higher end of an age range. Also, just about all of my characters are caring and protective in some capacity, even the rare meanie that I make.

I play a mixture of male and female characters. I myself am a guy.

Generally speaking I try to post at least once per week.

It seemed the conversation was getting a little out of hand. Ely, for her part, put two and two together and surmised that they were all cadets, which seemed to have an ostracizing effect upon the poor girl. But, Lucia thought, she'd be damned if she was about to let such an opportunity slip away. Ely was smart, kind, she had a soothing voice, and and she was quite pretty on top of it all. It was a chance to make such a friend completely outside of the Academy and the military, away from the fighting and the training and the constant vigilance. But if she didn't act fast, she might lose it.

"Oh, well, oui," Lucia responded, "I suppose the cat's out of the bag then. But, err, that said, well..."

Lucia paused for a moment. As mildly uncomfortable as Ely seemed to be, Lucia herself was feeling on the spot. Why was she nervous? This wasn't anything out of the ordinary, was it? All she was doing was offering her friendship... so somebody she'd met by chance, rather than being in the same class or sharing a circle with her family. She'd actually be offering her time in the future, with no guarantee that she'd see this person at a regular interval of any kind. Perhaps it was out of the ordinary in that sense, then.

It was ironic, really; the same girl who would fearlessly charge at an Invader was getting cold feet thinking of simple social interaction. But, she thought to herself, that simply would not do. If she could get through a life-or-death battle, she could certainly get through this. She took a deep breath, then spoke again.

"Well," she continued, "I'd actually like to make you less of a stranger, if that's alright? I think it would be quite nice to have a friend outside the Academy. Here..."

With that, she strolled back to her towel and reached into her bag. She fumbled around inside of it a little, but shortly her hand emerged again clutching her phone in its silver case. It was a solid model, not the latest or the sleekest, but it handled what she needed it to quite well and that was enough for Lucia. With it in hand, she ran through the various ID systems and password locks she used, pulled up the contact list, and extended the device towards Ely. "Your contact info, if you're up to sharing? Of course I'll return the favour," Lucia said with a warm smile.
I want to have what it takes. But RNG has screwed me more times than I care to admit in the past.

Can....... Can I have a descendant of the man, the myth, the legend himself, Major Freaking Armstrong, who is somehow, nothing at all like an Armstrong, and in fact is basically the exact opposite?

<Snipped quote by Shandria>

Honestly same, RNG has never been kind, but I figured it'd be fun to see what happens anyway.

Well, I'm going to try to not have everything hinge on just dice rolls. What I can say is that if you put the time and effort into your writing, I think you'll find the rolls weighted quite well in your favor a lot of the time.

@Eviledd1984 Come on down, we're still filling up!

@Vox Very nice, I'll chat with you about Anne at a later point in time. Everything seems to be in order, so you can add her to the CHaracters teb!
@AdmrlStalfos19@Hero@slackpack@Feisty-Pants@Duoya@Sunbather
The OOC is made!

If you're new to the thread, please direct any questions or interest there. Thank you for your patience!
WE CURRENTLY HAVE 3 PLAYER SLOTS AVAILABLE!

"Alchemy. It is the scientific technique of understanding the structure of matter, decomposing it, and then reconstructing it. If performed skillfully, it is even possible to create gold out of lead. However, as it is a science, there are some natural principles in place. Only one thing can be created from something else of a certain mass. This is the Principle of Equivalent Exchange."

Thirty years have passed since The Promised Day. The nation of Amestris, the truth behind its existence having been revealed, has not had an easy path to tread. Many of their neighbors, rather than sympathy toward the people who had been manipulated over generations, were outraged that their people had died for such selfishness and only increased their aggression in an attempt to reclaim their lands. It took the better part of Roy Mustang's career as Fuhrer to safeguard his people and finally wrestle global tensions to a peaceful, if strenuous truce. But as always, a new day has dawned. And with the new dawn has come great change. Having understood that they had become little more than tools for the being known as Father, one of the first things Fuhrer Mustang did was retool, and years later completely disband the State Alchemists. In their place and from their ashes, he created AMSIF- the Amestris Military Special Investigations Force. A task force entrusted with the role of investigating and resolving incidents, foreign and domestic, deemed to represent a greater threat to Amestris and her people. While not all, many of these incidents involve the use of Alchemy, and particular focus is given toward seeing that Amestris never beholds another Promised Day or Ishvalan Massacre again. No longer reserved for Alchemists alone, AMSIF is a collection of many disciplines and a myriad of personages, from ordinary investigators to crack marksmen, even including a Xingese martial artist or two. The only question is- do you have what it takes?

There was an old pirate saying that no matter where the wind takes you, bars will be bars. And it seemed to be true, even in the In Between, because this bar was bustling with all manner and shapes of people, mismatched and motley as they came. As he passed his eye around the place looking for somebody who knew what they were talking about, or perhaps resembled a guard off their shift... something that was neither of these pulled his attention. It was a perfectly ordinary lad, quietly sitting at a table drinking what was doubtlessly heavily watered down whiskey- anything else gave him the big yawn over the ship's railing an hour later. Alexander knew that, and a dozen other things besides, because to his great surprise this was someone he knew.

"Wash?"

The boy nearly choked on his drink as his eyes grew wide and centered on Alexander.

"Xander?!" he asked as he finished coughing, "Is that you?"

"That's my line!" Alexander replied as he walked closer and pulled another chair out to sit on, "We thought you were dead!"

"What do you mean?" Wash asked quizzically, "I'm right here, ain't I?"

"Well yes, NOW," Alexander said with a roll of his eyes, "But we all watched your lifeline come loose when we took a full broadside from the Reaver... you went straight over the railing... how did you end up here?"

Wash paused for a moment of thought. "You know," he said after a moment's passage, "I can't really remember. I DO remember falling, but anything between going under the clouds and ending up here..."

"Felt like the white filled everything, put you in your bunk, and you woke up on solid ground?" Alexander asked with a knowing in his voice.

"Yeah... wait, Xander, you didn't...?"

"Story for another time mate," Alexander responded with a laugh, "Oh, right! This," he said turning to Kade and Hannah, "Is Wash. That's not his actual name, we just called him that because-"

"Because of an incident we will not be talking about!" Wash piped up.

"Oh come on mate, it was glorious! Anyway, uh..." he continued, "Wash is... from my home. He was on the ship with me."
I'll be assembling the CS tonight so everybody can start brainstorming and hashing things out. Once that's done and I finish finding a few more NPC pictures, we can move to an OOC!
Sounds great, I'd love to join!

Are you looking for us to form a group similar to the protags (i.e. a few kids and some older peeps) or do you have a specific age range in mind etc?

I did not have any set group in mind, no. The only thing is I'd say no younger than 16 (and and anybody below 18 would be rare) and no older than 50 or so. Within that, go nuts.
He's GM'd before, I don't think that's an issue.
