Attention all passengers, we will soon be landing at our destination: Beacon Academy.
"Ugh ... Huh? Already?"
To many passengers of the airship, the trip would have been at the minimum long and uneventful, to some a living hell. It wasn't uncommon to have people struggle to sleep in turbulence packed vehicles along with the inevitable noise coming from the craft's engines. This wasn't the case for Noëlle, from the moment the ship had hit the clouds she had fallen fast asleep for a well deserved nap. The blonde newcomer was swiftly awaken by the pilot's announcement only because of her headset being directly jacked to the airship's network, but with everything on mute with the exception of important messages from the crew. As easy as sleeping was for her, waking up was a whole other dimension. As the ship landed she hadn't even prepared to get off, taking action only when most of the passengers were debarking.
Once the lazy huntress had found the courage after rubbing her tired eyes to pick up her only duffel bag over her shoulder and follow the flock of people. But before she'd expose herself to Beacon's reputable atmosphere, she'd make a quick pause at the ship's bar service. Placing a bill on the counter, she didn't pause for a second to choose between the various options.
"One chocolate, please."
She'd say with a groggy and unmotivated voice. The barman paid no attention to her expression and served her quickly enough for her to let him keep the change. With now a fast food milkshake cup in her hand, she was one of the last people to step out of the aircraft, much to Kiran's misfortune. Truthfully, she didn't know what her teammates looked like. Noëlle was convinced that Haven had forgotten to give her that part of the file, but chances were she had misplaced it in her conglomerate of junk scattered all around her previous dorm. She did remember their names, though, which was a plus. It'd mostly be thanks to Kiran's proactive behavior to her regard that she wouldn't end up like an idiot, lost in the docking terminal. Not that she'd care that much, someone would eventually cater to her anyway.
When the KNVS leader would catch a first glimpse of her, he'd more than likely get an idea of what kind of person she was. In her case, appearance weren't really deceiving, but maybe Kiran was too good of a man to judge her based on that. Her hair was indeed messy, she hadn't even bothered to even make her trademark side ponytail, letting her long set of hair run wild. Her facial expression still looked like she crawled out of her behind with only eyeliner to give minimal presentation value. Her attire was somewhat correct otherwise, despite it being Haven's uniform instead of Beacon's of something casual. In her defense, she hadn't received any set of clothes yet. Her old colleagues encouraged her to be "Natural" with her new friends, so she could be integrated better. She took respected that idea to the letter.
When Kiran would approach her, she'd notice the much taller, turban wearing male from the get-go, concluding that he was likely the one to greet her. With their first contact, she'd be noticeably lacking in any form of anxiety or stress. She could be the confident type, but her half-opened eyes and rather passive non-verbal communication expressed something else. When presented with a hand to shake, she'd first look up at the man dwarfing her in size, before actually shaking it with her free hand. She couldn't help but constantly derive her stare at the bizarre turban he was wearing. She found it cool.
"Yep, that's me. So you're boss-man of the group? I like your name, by the way."
Noëlle would reply and inquire as Kiran introduced himself. Her voice made it clear that she wasn't fully active, and the subtle but visible from up close face marks made it clear she had just woken up. The leader of the team could easily articulate his long justification for bringing her on a mission at the very first moments she'd set foot on Beacon's land. She'd take occasional sips and nod to his explanation, anticipating that she'd be asked the obvious.
Heat of the battle, huh? The heat of a fireplace and a couch would be just as good ...
She thought to herself, somewhat grumpy that she'd actually have to do any form of effort after just coming out of a plane ride. She didn't express any of it, however, as much as she was for exposing her thoughts. It was her job after all, to complete missions, and make a decent impression to the team without being "unnatural".
"Hmmm, if you get a lady another one of these, I won't make a fuss."
She'd jokingly reply to his question whether she was okay with this, shaking her half filled milkshake bottle when she expressed her little catch for agreeing. He didn't have to, but she did want to make sure he wasn't one of those bores that couldn't be just a little laid back.
"So ..."
With the same bottle she shook around, she'd then point the straw toward the airship he had pointed to earlier.
"This way, right? And I guess I can just call you Kiran? Though Khan does sound overwhelmingly cool too. So, can I get a little synopsis of how this mission will go? You know, so I can at least pretend to know what I'm doing when I meet the other dudes."
Another joke stacked in there with an innocent smirk as she walked over the direction she pointed at. This one being quite hard to take literally by even the most uptight, Goodwitch-level of people. She was clearly established as an efficient huntress and most likely knew what she was doing despite her mannerisms. Hopefully, they would be like her previous team at the core, but she also wished that they wouldn't remind her too much of them. She wanted a unique experience, to move on and maybe one day get through a week without internet.
@thewizardguy For the Cyano and Ultron case, they both seem very well versed in technology. While one is en entity meant to control it, the other is an individual whom technology holds no secrets. They can make a great fight.
For Sam and Satsuki. Although Satsuki is indeed stronger, she has a defined limit while Sam has enough skill to last all day. The guy deflected gatling gun bullets like it was Sunday stroll, took on UG's in a few minutes without a problem, even faced off toe to toe with Armstrong who is very well in the power tier of this RP.
I'd say Satsuki has the upper hand in raw power, which has never been a problem for Sam to handle. On the other hand, I do think Sam has superior sword skills than Satsuki. Especially with that trigger sword draw. It could go both ways here too, with an advantage to Satsuki of course.
Noëlle's weapon of choice is a set of chakrams with a circumference reaching the size of her forearm. Initially they appear as a simple key-chain that enlarges itself upon activation. At first glance, they seem completely deprived of any modern technological add-on and that impression would be right. The Aletheia are old weapons passed down through multiple generations, by then the name of the first generation that produced it had vanished. But the tradition lived on and Noëlle would be the proud inheritor of the Six Aletheia Chakrams, designed after a clock and framed into a circular, golden blade.
When wielded, slotted handles emerge instantly forms in the center and allows an easier grip. Each individual one can be severed into two half circles for close quarters combat, fairing rather well as a swift and lightweight weapon. But their superior strength comes from the archaic technology and concealed power source that enables the chakrams to levitate and rotate according to the heir's aura. It essentially means the Chakrams can be manipulated and hurled through will alone. They can reach up to 250 meters before being forcibly attracted back to the user. A maximum of four at a time are Noëlle's limit in this current time. In terms of strength, although not as strong as a large sword, their constant rotation when striking and speed often compensate this issue and can overwhelm unsuspecting foes. And yes they can also drill underground for a short period of time.
Customizable with Dust? Yes.
Aletheia - Archangel
The transformation of the chakram that involves the circle locking itself a few inches over Noêlle's back and to shrink in size. The golden blades of the chakram extend and branch out of the main. The extension reaches a total size of two meters in length. Once complete, an overwhelmingly bright flash of light envelops the nearby area as Noëlle ascends to the appearance of an angel. Or at least, her new, feathery golden wings give that impression. The wings remain severely bright as long as they’re active, but they shouldn’t be too much of a problem to look at after a second or two.
the feathers are unique projections of her aura's interaction with dust. They enable Noëlle to fly with immense fluidity, almost as if she's running on air while providing normal running speed. The wings are somewhat sturdy, as in they have the same defensive prowess as a thin shield. To give some perspective, it can sponge most damage from a strong hit from a heavy sword but will leave her off balance and vulnerable for another strike. The golden blade serving as the branch can still serve as a weapon to counter incoming strikes with adequate strength as well.
Finally, feather shaped aura fragments can be fused with earth dust to creative basic projectiles. They are slower than bullets, but have more damaging power altogether. They are sharp and make small explosions once hitting something (nothing bad, just an annoying pushback).
Aletheia – Cherubim
The second stage of this weapon’s angelic form is rather simple. A second pair of chakrams link themselves to the middle portion of Noëlle’s back, right under the first row of chakrams. All four of them start to turn and grind each other as would gears in a machine. The same process then happens with the Archangel form with now four wings present.
This is the more aggressive form of Noëlle’s weapon as it is mostly powered by Wind Dust power, as such air currents and blasts of wind have a much weaker effect on her aerial trajectory. It currently only utilizes fire, wind and water elements and applies them in its specific attacks.
Eerie Tempest (Wind Dust): Noëlle flaps her wings as the field is surrounded by powerful gusts of winds. A storm hits the entire selected area and affects both enemies and allies. The harsh winds make it exceptionally difficult to move around without being carried away. It lasts for a few minutes.
Bizarre Inferno (Wind + Fire Dust): With a simple flap of her wings, Noëlle releasing a tornado of flames going a linear path. Those caught in it suffer severe burns while does around are begrudgingly attracted by it. It leaves the area dry and excruciatingly hot.
Peculiar Blizzard (Water + Wind): Unlike the other two, this one lasts longer because it simply adds ice capabilities to the feathers. When hitting something, instead of exploding ridiculously, they cover what was hit with ice. Blocking it thus makes it a hindrance though the ice can be shaken off. A direct hit will result being encased in ice. Thawing out can be a little harder.
Important: Once one of these have been used, Noëlle’s aura takes a beating and leaves her temporarily tired. She can still fight but with poorer results. A five minute break is a good remedy though using another Cherubim attack would make her even more vulnerable and weak in the next cooldown. Only a good night’s sleep can fix this!
Specialty: Noëlle’s behavior and semblance make her much better at setting up a battlefield whilst in a team. Her ability to essentially cover all blind spots in a field make her the ideal scout to turn most fights into a cakewalk. However as much as she’d love to vegetative during such an energy taxing task, she is mostly proficient at covering her allies with long range and dust related spells while having access to a sublime vantage point. She’s more of a mage than a support due to her lack of supporting tactics and more sabotage oriented tactics. Noëlle will often prefer to be in the sidelines in order to save up her Cherubim phase and deliver a powerful attack when the enemy is most vulnerable and the team ready for a blast.
Semblance: Nous ("The Mind") Noëlle’s semblance reflects her very observing and cautious nature in regards to the wellbeing of others. Nous manifests itself in two was, one being more predominant than the other. The first and mostly used would be ‘The All Seeing Eye’ function. The use is simple, by creating the drawing/tattoo of an eye (see the emblem) on any surface, she will be able to see as if that eye is one of her own. She must either touch or have an affected object touch a target in order to apply the eye on it. The eyes can shift view angle like the real thing. Up to 15 can be produced at once and she can surprisingly handle almost all of them at once, though the trick is to be able to sort which ones see movement and which are relevant, a skill she developed through the years, making it very easy for her to multitask.
If someone were to be applied this cursed seal, they’d have to spend 5 hours scrubbing the tattoo with Vale’s best detergent to get it off. Or wait for a month and it’ll expire. Anything touched by it can be “sensed” by Noëlle. She can’t locate them like a radar, but she receives a form of sixth sense regarding their location, easily figuring out what direction to take. Strangely enough, they are more potent in seeing when it’s dark than the contrary.
The second version is a much more fear inducing one to the enemy. It only works if applied directly on an opponent, via either one of her feathers or her body having contact with theirs. Once afflicted with the tattoo, one would notice it isn’t the same as the emblem but rather the eye is locked in an upward stare and closed quarter way. The effects are disturbing as they force the victim’s sight to be substituted with the applied eye, except it will rigorously move its field of sight from left to right at a dizzying rate. They can close their eyes, but the emblem remains open, making it pointless. Removing it is far easier though as it simply requires it to be dented in some way and it only lasts for five minutes.
Personality: Slothful would likely be what her ex-colleagues would define her in one word. She isn’t ashamed of it either, she is a lazy person with lazy habits that endlessly plague her everyday projects. Procrastination is entirely mastered by this couch potato, cramming after spending all day and night on pointless social commentary videos on the internet is merely an art she excels at. She has a pretty upbeat view on pretty much anything she puts herself into because of her carelessness, always seeing the bright side and a great escape out of it. Not only has she developed a mighty creative mind by finding any alternative to save effort in daily tasks, but she’s trained herself in concocting massive time-saving methods for studying. Many confuse why many call her “Guardian Angel” with the fact that she wields angelic wings, but in reality she has busted so many out of academic chaos with her … Unconventional alternatives.
With others, though very kind in terms of sharing what she has and rarely ever asking for something in return, many feel as though she's apathetic to their person in the end. Her demeanor is often indifferent, uncaring despite her seemingly superficial smiles and positive attitude. She rarely asks how people are doing or about their weekends, the trivial things so many seem to treasure. But those close to her know very well she’s one of the most observant individuals in the academy. Having been raised with five younger siblings, she knows how it is to supervise others and know what indicators mean in certain behaviors. She may be glued to a screen, but she’s always watching those around her and is one of the first to know when something isn’t right. It doesn’t help that her memory is extraordinarily high (not to be confused with intelligence, she’s not exceptionally smart). When giving her thoughts on people, what they do and the position they're in, she's blunt and cold about it most of them time, but sincerely tries to help them pave a better path for themselves.
In regards to her teammates and actual close friends, she tends to embark them in her tendencies of watching videos all night and playing some dumb game. The more the merrier, she always says. Noëlle isn’t one to keep her thoughts to herself and calls people out on the ridiculous things they may say or do in her presence, especially in more serious scenarios. In spite of this, she is quite the hypocrite in that level as she herself is weak of will and would be the type capitulate at the sight of her colleagues in pain despite having for objective to keep information secret. In all she has good intentions and values the lives and wellbeing of those she holds dear which conflicts strongly with her down-to-earth approach when handling her priorities as a huntress.
In battle, it would depend on the context. When facing real threats or Grimm, she won’t mess around and immediately commence extermination, the faster it is done the more series streaming time she'll have later. In friendly matches however, she’ll always start off with the minimum under the guise of “Slowly exposing her abilities”. That aside, it is for certain that she loves to spread her semblance on the field to have a a quick hand on the situation and mess with the opponents. A trait that she applies in regular activities as well, finding any exploitable opportunity to be a little troll to people without actually being condescending about it. With her radiant and frankly captivating smile, she’s often forgiven. Plus she makes it clear that there are no malicious intentions in her actions. Unless they’re Social Justice Warriors. She hates them like she hates Micro-transactions.
She always found it strange that she’d end up with her current weapon, as her general personality doesn’t seem to fit the criteria she’d heard of regarding its angelic beauty. Not that she hates her appearances like most teens and young women these das, but she’s very well aware that she doesn’t do anything about them. Especially her hair. But hey, flying is always better than walking! Noëlle's also often seen drinking a milkshake or a smoothy out of a plastic cup and straw. Her favorite type is of course, chocolate. Macaroons are a close second.
Color: Metallic Gold
Emblem:
Appearance:
Standing at 163 cm, she’s always been fine with her average girl appearances and normal sized curves. Her hair is Golden Blonde, like her color (because RWBY logic), and her eyes share the same tint. She never dedicates more than basic makeup in terms of aesthetic, her hair can suck on a big one as much as it is complimented by others. She just can’t bring herself to look nice for mundane things. She also wears the same school clothes in and out of Beacon, because why bother with diversity? Only exception is her pajamas and/or an occasion.
