I was gonna volunteer Machine Man since he's got his own ship and exp with the Celestials. I figured the whole idea was a new GotG without any pre-existing members.

I know Nova has been part but not in mainstream 616 and especially not the 199999(how many 9s does the movie one get?), and not as a female Nova.

@Natty changed who the Guardians will be hunting, @Dedonus may as well mention you too even though I told you. Now it's Galen-Kor who does covert ops for the Kree in 616. Will make the story a bit longer, as all we have to go on is "It was a Kree ship!"

Speak to @Natty then, as his plan was to have a NPC Cosmo as the leader of the GotG. Soooooo.... yeah. Also FYI to y'all my idea works with the concept off the GotG pre-existing and finding my char on/near Xandar or if you wanna form in the RP... though I kinda like the idea of it being pre-existing but that is just me.

The Beat (Star Wars Stormtroopers RP)

Triple Nine wasn't sitting like most of the rooks, the term "shiny" didn't really apply anymore. He was standing, arm hanging onto the railing, rifle held across his torso with it's strap and his right hand holding onto the trigger. He hated these warm planets, Ryloth had to be one of the worst. Yeah sure there weren't bugs like Geonosis or two suns like Tattooine but it was still hot. With the added fact that there would occasionally be fire storms it wasn't exactly a nice place too be, and last time he was here the separatists tried to make a monster eat him.

That didn't make the memories any better. He let go off the handle, feeling the stubble on his face. Kind of missing the beard but Imperial Regulations prohibited facial hair, at least he wasn't competing for the same face anymore. Everyone was different, completely different. That was one thing he didn't like about the corps. A clone army had quick thinkers, capable of independent thinking but also of working in unison. Able to guess what the guy next to you was about to do and reacting to it. Sure there were exceptions but they often made it to arc trooper. No, the corps was disorganized. Everyone had their own agenda. He let out a sigh, though there was nothing he could do about that now.

He took a couple of magnetic strips out of his pocket and moved over to the makeshift sign that read Days without incident and changed the number to an eight. He moved back to his original position, pulling his helmet over the face. Hearing it hiss slightly as it sealed. He flicked his tongue over the microphone activation stud checking it worked, and then began pulled out his pistols, giving them the once over.

Character Origin & Backstory:

Mexxa knew she always wanted to be part of the Nova-Corps. Ever since she was a little girl growing up on Xandar. They were the pinnacle off what a Xandarian could achieve. They protected two galaxies against threats, helping people all over the galaxy and getting to explore previously unexplored space. What more could she want? What more could someone achieve? For her there was nothing else. Her father, a merchant inspired this in him. Brought her up on stories of the Nova-Corps. It had been his dream too become a Nova, until an accident aboard a starship damaged his brain making him prone to seizures and incapable of handling the immensity of the Nova-Force.

She made it into the Star-Academy at eighteen, worked her way through. Pushing herself, constantly. At the expense of any real social life, upon graduating she was accepted into the Nova-Corps as a corpsman! The moment she put on that helmet, felt the Nova-Force flow through her. She knew she had made it. This was her duty, this was where she belonged to be. This was her life, she even met someone just like her. Garthan Saal. The two moved through the ranks together, often working on missions together and forming a relationship that would later prove to be the end off Garthan Saal however while it lasted, it was perfect.

They travelled the stars, helped people. Saved lives, never letting the relationship between them jeopardize the mission (Which is why it wasn't frowned upon or stomped out of existence). They were committed to each other but first and foremost to the Corps. It was the proudest moment of her life, her fathers life and Garthan Saals life when everything went wrong.

Tensions between Xandar and the Kree Empire were at an all time high, despite a temporarily truce the war lord known as Ronan continued to push against worlds in connection to Xandar or colonized by Xandarians. He continued to push on towards Xandar despite going against several Novas, and in the end it was rumoured that he had found a weapon of untold power upon Morag. On the day she was made a centurion, Xandar fell.

His ship arriving in orbit, Nova Prime went up to face him with the full power of the Hive mind and Nova-Force, ten of his best warriors and yet whatever weapon Ronan possessed it truly was formidable. His ship approaching the planet, Garthan Saan accessed the World-Mind and was granted permission to become Nova Prime. Though before he went to fight Ronan he created a gravitational field and cast Mexxa off the planet, the World-mind recognizing that Garthan Saal would not commit himself to fight Ronan until Mexxa was out of the way interfaced with her helmet to ensure that his attempts to save her were succesful.

She watched, helpless as Xandar was destroyed and Ronan left. As the World-mind ceased to be, her helmet became operational again allowing her access to the Nova-force once more. Though it was too little, too late.

She had failed, everyone she had ever cared about was dead. The corps, was dead.

Powers and Abilities:

Mexxa possesses some of the Nova-Force which grants her these abilities. Her power is able to increase however if she is imbued with more of the Nova-Force. This is her current power-rating which is more akin to that of Sam Alexander than that of Richard Rider. Depending on how the plot develops and what is going on she does have the capability to become Nova Prime and more similar to Richard Rider. Though I'd rather keep her below that level.

While the additional strength, reflexes and survival skills remain with the helmet off all the other abilities require to have her helmet on. Though thanks to her needing little to no sleep, and no real sustenance she rarely takes it off.

- Superhuman Strength: She has increased strength, currently able to lift 20 tonnes.

- Superhuman Speed: Primarily through flight she is able to travel upto hundreds of miles per hour.
Running has more restrictions however, thanks too physics.

- Superhuman Endurance: She can exert herself for longer without fatigue, obviously the more she does the faster
it happens however merely moving fast it takes her at least 12 hours before the toxins
start to impair her.

- Accuracy: With the Worldminds help(Currently out of order) she can calculate shots with deadly accuracy.

- Reflexes: Her reflexes, while they have nothing on Spider-sense are greatly improved, slightly above that off
the most skilled fighter pilots.

- Healing Factor: She has a slight healing factor, though only on par with Spider-man nothing too amazing.

- Flight: The Nova-Force allows her to propel herself through the air, and at Faster than Light speeds out of
atmosphere which allows her to patrol space freely without a ship.

- Energy Blasts: Similar to focusing the Nova-Force to allow her to fly she can also form it to make energy
blasts and fire them at enemies.

- Cosmic Awareness: Her helmet can relay information on the affairs of the galaxy through a set of relays,
however the network has suffered damage with the loss of Xandar.

- Universal Translator: The Helmet has an inbuilt translator so she can understand what other species are
saying.

- Survival: Thanks to the Nova-Force she can survive with little to no air, and with little to eat or drink.

Sample Story Arcs:

- Xandar Lost: Her home, her people. Way of life lost, how will she react?
- Worldmind gone: The Worldmind is what helps her analyze situations in battle, plan tactics and keep her sane
in using the Nova-Force. While it is unlikely that the amount she has access too could drive
her insane, what happens when there is a resurgence?
- Guardians: Will the Guardians stand for the loss of Xandar? Will she work with them or go on a rampage?
- SuperNova: With a resurgence of the Nova-Force the World-mind re-activates, will she heed it's guidance?
- Nova Prime: Leader of the Nova Corps. Will it become what it once was?
- Xandar Rebuilt: When the Hive-mind recreates Xandar and everyone on it, will it be the same? Will she be able to go home? To her family?
- Thanos: This is a late game one, but how will she react to the mad Titan?

Sample Post:

She didn't know what she expected to find. The World-Mind was dormant, if not dead. The surface of the planet was barren and covered in ash. Cracked and burning. She could feel the smoke tickling the back of her throat despite the best efforts of her helmet. That in itself made her lose a tear. She didn't deserve this helmet, this power. Not anymore. She had failed everyone. She fell to her knees where her home had once been, her father. Probably oblivious to what had been going on, Ronan striking so fast had likely been here.

He would have been so proud as she became a centurion, waiting with pride for her to come home. Boasting to whoever would still listen to the stories about his daughter, the great Centurion! Who went off to distant worlds and fought the evil and the corrupt. Could take command of any starship in the fleet, and had amazing power. That he, and they wouldn't know.

Now they really wouldn't, nothing could bring back Xandar. It was gone, and so were her people. All that was left was her. "There's more to being a Nova than just flying around and wielding power Mexxa, even I know that. It's about helping people, fighting the good fight. Enlightening them, teaching them. There's great power and an even greater responsibility. Never lose faith, your heart will keep you true. As in it, there is nothing but good."

She began to cry a constant stream off tears, falling into the dust. The chemicals in the air causing the tears to burn, but she didn't stop. She let them flow, her father was right. She couldn't wallow in self pity, she was a Nova. If she was the last one so be it, however she wasn't going to just sit around and let Ronan do something like this again.

No, she wouldn't let anything like this happen ever again. She would fight the good fight. For Xandar, for the Nova-Corps. For her father.

Wilson landed near the edge off the clearing the facility stood in. Luckily he had lost the Velociraptors long ago, and now it was just a case of getting into the facility. Kicking ass, taking names and taking out the anti-air. Then they could bring in the troops and wrap up. Fury was probably already close with the troops, so there was no real time too lose. He lowered his right hand to his thigh, a pistol extending automatically into his grip he then lifted his shield off his back and held it in his right hand, he wasn't as much off a fan of the shield as other renditions of Captain America had been however it had been part of the uniform since the original Steve Rogers.

Though it did have it's uses.

Leaning forward slightly, he fired the jets from his pack casting him up into the air. However instead of extending his wings he let himself drift, slowing rapidly. Curling himself into a small shape shield facing the ground, when he slowed so that the air wasn't whistling into his ears he could hear the shouting, gun shots began ringing and he could feel them hitting the shield. He just had to time this right, able to see slightly beyond the shield he turned himself down into a roll, pistol extended past the shield the moment he stopped loosing two shots into the closest guard, then worked his way clockwise hitting the guard to his two o'clock while the shield covered his left flank. Finishing the guard in a double tap he rolled and took out the two on the other side.

Alarms were going off already, no doubt people scrambling too get to the roof. He put his pistol down and took a piece of plastic explosive. Running over to the AA turret he placed the explosive on it's base before picking his pistol up again. Wouldn't do to set it off yet, no the longer he kept them distracted the better. Though there was something that seemed... off about these A.I.M guards. Taking what little time he had before they reached the roof he lifted the hood off the nearest goon. He was alive, heavy breathing. Though his eyes seemed distant, hollow. Slightly greyed as if he were in some kind of a trance.

He heard the nearby door open, turning his shield to face the new threat he was met by a hail of bullets. Something wasn't quite right, beyond the obvious. There was more at work than met the eye, first the sloppiness then the apparent trance and the fact if they were A.I.M normally they would have tried to bug out by now, trying to keep their name intact and free off being tarnished.

After some thought, I had the idea of having Cosmo being the NPC leader of the Guardians who forged the team in a similar manner to how he was tasked with bringing together the Annihilators in the comics. That's if this is ok with you and @The Kid Lantern anyway!

I think that i'm going to go ahead with playing Troll as a guardian since i thought that it would interesting to have a girl running around with an axe and furs in space!
