Ya'll should save your awesome battle themes for later.

Seriously, I'm considering having Velvet Room challenges added to lategame. I'm not sure what to make the rewards yet, but I know one thing. The first challenge is to fight your Shadow, as in your Dungeon Shadow. So far only Rui is the only one who doesn't have a 'monster' shadow form, so this all works out pretty well.
I guess this is why he can't produce any good mixtapes.
Encounters don't actually have to be in tall grass and such. It's not the game so we have creative liberty on how we encounter Pokemon.

You can easily keep these encounters brief though, so long as there's not too much underlying circumstance beneath it.

I have another idea that may suit someone in your position @MissFortune

How about a way to make the encounter 100% for whatever it is you are looking for? For instance, you can do the things I listed, like listening for signs of the Pokemon, asking Pokemon if they've seen them, and so on. It'll set up a 100% chance of meeting it eventually, sooner or later depending on how you want it to go.

Basically it's like filling out an event sequence. I'll give you an example.

It's a sequence of... Say 4 events, one Pokemon encounter each time. Only the 4th and final event is the Pokemon you're looking for.

But the first three, are all random, and will all lead up to the Pokemon you're looking for. Kind of like a quest I guess.

Would that be good?

You can speak with whoever will be your Environment for the sequences to roll the 3 random ones in advance and you simply play it out, or you can just keep it a surprise with each random event.

Though I think the best part is that if there are more than 1 Pokemon you're looking for in the same area, you have a chance of meeting two or more of them. So say you're looking for Rattata and Pidgey, and you roll a Rattata or Pidgey for one of the random events, plus the 100% encounter event at the end, two birds with one stone.
I'm adding an armoury upgrade, how much would this cost?

Lightning Pins - Throwing knives with a unique design to attract electricity. Using these knives he can set up his Lightning Rod skill's directions, giving him more versatility of approach. They can be used as ranged weapons as well, although they are weak in that regard. Due to their small size, he can carry a large amount of them, and throw a large amount of them with relative ease, and can dash to each one mid-flight, allowing him to really mix things up.

@Lugubrious

I want to see if I can get this approved and test it in combat class.
Excellent.
Blair Aschenford | Grand City, Evening

"Hm?... The hell is...", Blair looked up in closed eye amazement at a little kid dangling from a balloon. He wasn't too far off the ground, but it looks like a Drifloon was taking this kid away. He didn't know much more than that, but quickly he called out his Snivy Alain.

"Vine whip, pull that kid back down", he ordered. Alain did so and rescued the kid from the Drifloon... Who didn't seem to care at all, and just drifted away into the night... After telling the kid to be careful and go home, and sending him off, he turned towards the pier and as he walked, he heard a rustle in the bushes. Empress wasn't alarmed whatsoever... So this wasn't danger. He stepped over to the bushes to find an injured Swablu.

"Well, aren't you an adorable little thing... If not injured... I think I have something to spare for you", he said. He brought out a potion and gently sprayed it on the wounded area, before putting it away and giving it what remained of the Pokemon food he had bought earlier that day.

Curious though... For what reason would it have been injured? These injuries didn't look self-inflicted... Blair felt there must've been something especially vicious nearby... Or not, but it depended on the Swablu's circumstances. Maybe it was trying to rest here? Or maybe it recently ran? He can't tell, but the Swablu in not long should be in better condition.
Yeah, we hit the city so we could slow down without boring ourselves.
@GrandzHelios

Apparently we have to 'roll' for pokemon, so I don't think so unless we are able to encounter pokemon we want.

My ideal end game would be Starter, Legendary, Misdreavus, Cherrim, Dragonair and Aurorus. All cute and beautiful pokemon <3

If you happen to roll the rarity while looking for the Pokemon, you will meet the Pokemon automatically. I think we all agreed on that.

Also, to ensure people can fairly find the Pokemon they want, I want to propose the ability to increase those chances. Here are some possible methods you can do in-RP.
  • "Spotting" or "hearing" or some other thing anything related to the Pokemon you're looking for. For instance maybe they left behind some kind of clue that they're nearby? Basically include that in your post.
  • You can ask the next Pokemon you encounter if they've seen a <insert Pokemon you're looking for> or anything like it. This can vary in result, but it can be fun interacting with other Pokemon in a way other than fighting or catching them.
  • Anything else you can think of.

Basically, this is under the logic of, "you won't find it unless you look for it", kind of thing. You may encounter what you want by luck, but you can also vastly increase your chances by actively looking for it.

@1Charak2 @AbysmalDemon

P.S Any GM, @Sho Minazuki needs a Pokemon to encounter, he has been waiting all day.

Also I encountered a Swablu, injured. There was also a Drifloon apparently abducting a kid. I may deal with the kid being abducted with Alain/Snivy right after I potion up the Swablu.

Hopefully it appreciates it. =<

I'll do this bit myself for now, but I'd like someone to act as Environment after my next post doing all I just said. Eklipse I believe volunteered.
The problem is that you didn't earn the Pokemon and it feels cheap and empty.

You know what's better than catching the Pokemon you want? Catching the Pokemon you want after a bunch of events and thus earning that right at the end of it.

It's a feeling of reward that the RP is missing, which is why having someone play as the Environment I think is essential.
Yeah, that lightning deals no actual damage, but while dashing he can strike opponents if he passes by close enough to them.

If he throws out dozens of Lightning Pins into a crowd of enemies, he can clean them up instantly, or strike one opponent countless times if he sets the pins up all around them.

I might want to follow up on Multi.
