The Legend of Zelda: Whispering Storm

The atmosphere of unease sets in upon Hyrule as whispers in the dark tell of the return of the King of Darkness. Many common folk disbelieve the rumors while the desperate and the dedicated to the cause of chaos stir in the shadows, scheming for the return of the one they call their king. These people stand among the other common folk, a threat that cannot be identified by looks alone is a threat often underestimated or overlooked. After all, it is just the common citizenry.

However, tensions brew as a strange string of murders take place in Hyrule Castle City, and in the Castle District no less, the most secure residential district in the entire land.

A select number of individuals from this point onward will find themselves involved in a series of events leading them to their destiny, should they embrace it, or not.

NOTE: The RP will take place in a series of chapters, each chapter focusing on one region of Hyrule. For instance the first chapter and beginning will take place in Hyrule, then after business is concluded there, everyone is required to move to Eldin, and so on.

I also may have need for co-GMs to help take care of sidequests, but we'll talk about that in more depth when I see player projections.

The combination of ranged attacks and Matarukaja halted the shadow's flight through the air. The magic it was pelting only managed to get near the back line due to path, anymore it would've dealt serious damage. Though this was an opportune moment. Rui summoned his Persona again, striking the ceiling above the shadow with Garula, the force of the wind striking the wind out of the wings, as the shadow plummeted to the ground he made his command,

"Now we strike it with all we've got", the shadow was now forced to kneel as it recovered from the fall, going on all fours, it's larger arms for melee attacks were still up, but at least for the moment it could not attack with magic.

The switch to magic attacks was working, most spells seemed to have a regular effect, however Kami's lightning seemed to be it's weak point, easily staggering the hulking demon. This was their chance for an all-out attack. Kami leading the charged rushed down the Oni, everyone striking it with all they had, before the dust cleared, leaving the Oni on it's knees. It seemed to be nearly over, the battle that is, but that wasn't what was more noticeable. It's body, seemed cracked, as one of the points chipped away and fell, shining and reflecting as it did.

"... Mirror shards? Well whatever, we'll think about that afterward. Ayano, scan it closely and see what you can learn about what it is", and then they'll talk about it afterward. Whatever it is, it wasn't quite a shadow, it seemed to be something else, and he felt they'd be dealing with this kind of thing regularly from now on.

Everyone began sizing up for their finishing move as the Oni got back up to resume it's attack, trying to charge straight for the back line.

"Hmph. Dead...", and likely by the one who just leaped out the window. The fancily dressed figure now crumpled in a pathetic mess on the floor was likely the main leader of this pack. Well, that made the job easier for him. What were they looking for here...? As he examined the area, there were an incredible amount of Adepts on board this boat. Were these divers here for a simple Adept wipe...? No that can't be it. They didn't have any specialized anti-Adept gear on them. Was this just a robbery gone wrong? They took hostages, meaning that might've been it. Regardless, whatever it was, it was quickly looking like a waste of his time.

He leaped out the tiller house after the wind Adept, everyone was heading back to deck. He swept past the Adept, catching a glimpse of his face as he passed. It seemed familiar, which was why looked in the first place, but it was of no concern right now as he sprinted straight at the remaining soldiers, awaiting their response. If they did not respond, he'll simply keep sprinting and cut them down with each step, and if they did, he would react accordingly.

An invitation? To eat no less, that sounded nice. Jack was mostly accustomed to eating alone and wandering off wherever took his fancy, not to mention he was getting a bit hungry. He turned to Cian and accepted the offer,

"That'd be nice. I don't think we've really eaten together very often either, so it'd be a nice change of pace", he commented. He was going to mention Luke too, but considering his sisters just ran off looking for the armory... It might be some time until they can get Luke to come along.

"That said do you guys have any plans as to where to go to eat?", he asked.

Rui and Akane charged in, weaving between the shadow's blood red magical blades flying at them, appearing in front of it before being fired off. Rui called for Askr to mount a counter-attack, striking it with a Mighty Swing, before immediately darting off to the side. Akane's standard charge alternated, while Katsuro struck the shadow with a hit of Ragnarok, causing it to stagger a bit.

"I've completed the scan. It's arms control it's attacks, the bone arms are physical, while the regular arms are magical, watch for how they move", Rui gave an affirmative. As he did so the shadow taunted the party before it took to the air. The shadow began to cast magic from above, raining fire and light upon the party from above. The concept of formation was now useless as the back line was suddenly just as vulnerable as everyone in the front.

"Switch to ranged, avoid it's attacks", while they can't reach it with melee, they can't dodge this barrage of magic forever... He prepared to counter attack with Garula soon as he got an opening.

The solid lineup of buffs made the back line completely impenetrable, with Tetrakarn to persist for a small while until it was triggered, however unfortunately Sato was not quite protected from it. On the other hand, the Oni was pretty preoccupied with everyone in front already, immediately lashing at them with an Atom Smasher, forcing Jun and Kami to go into defensive to brace for the attack. Even with resistances, the force of the blow still meant they were forced to back away. The Oni didn't waste it's opportunity to charge the two bracing, although Kami managed to speed out of the way, Jun braced the attack, however upon closer inspection, thanks to Marakukaja, she was easily able to brush it off.

Although Jun wasn't the only one to brush it off. Kami and Jun's attacks didn't even put a scratch on Oni. It seemed resilient to physical attacks...

"Switch to magic", he commanded, before summoning Zeus to dole out some lightning.

As the five diver soldiers went down in an instant, falling back and chests cut open, and whatever harnesses or gear they were wearing were also slashed. Some gun bits split apart mid-fall rendering some of the weapons useless too. Itou quickly looked around him while he flourished his blade, letting the blood fly off of it. The stairwell likely had an adept down there as the soldiers attempted to bypass it, a few were completely stopped, and seemed a little preoccupied, unable to attack for a short while. As his free hand went for his hand gun he heard the bellow of a harpoon gun. He turned just in time to spot the shot, taking a quick backstep to the side, ensuring it flies right past him. It didn't seem to be aimed at him at all, evident by the injured Adept. Yes, this adept seemed to have come out of nowhere, but it was no concern of his as long as they weren't his enemy.

He turned back to the remaining disabled soldiers after that little scrape, pulled his hand gun out, and shot all three of them down. As they were unable to quite fight back, he took his time with each shot, aiming for their head, or vitals in their upper chest. As soon as that was done with he immediately sped along further down deck, hunting for the leader.
