| Habits |

Nightwalker - Plagued by nightmares and restless nights in his youth, Willian often wandered around the castle, gardens and streets. Falling in love with the silence of the night. It, in part, earned him his nickname: shadow. These days he walks around at night at his own volition.

| Hobbies |

Hunting - A great many nobles go out on horse with hounds, chase rabbits while laughing amongst each other. They even drink wine and call it hunting. Willian, a bastard, was never invited to these events. Nor did he want to go when he was younger, for he met other people. Poaching farmers taught him how to actually hunt. How to set traps, bait your prey and wait out days and days until you caught something. Further he learned how to gut various animals. Ranging from rabbit to deer.

Sword fighting - William is a very martial inclined youth. He likes the feel of a sword and the weight of his armor. Oftentimes he trains with the veteran knights in an attempt to improve himself. He certainly isn't bad, but he has much to learn. Something he only realizes half the time. Still, his talent is something of note.

Horse mastery - Horse-riding, a nobleman's sport, certainly but William is often as spirited as the horse he rides. Earning him some serious scolding of the stable master and his maids alike. Telling him he was reckless and dangerous. He is, but he's good at it. Not just the riding aspect. He understands the meaning of bloodlines and knows the importance of breed.

Drinking - The young lad takes after his half-brother in many ways. One of them is the excessive drinking. While a strong-willed swordfighter and a discipline hunter, William lacks such self-control when it comes to drinking. Young age might also be a factor. Never the less, as Maddox slowed down his drinking, William picked it up.
Thrill - Hunting, fighting, horse-riding. It's all towards a common goal: the thrill. He loves the sensation, the feel of his blood coursing through his veins. The simplexes of it all. It often puts him in danger but at the same time, he wouldn't be the person he is without his love for the thrill.
Tournaments - Being a bastard makes one's live somewhat "special". There are expectations of you, while you enjoy none of the advantages. He was not born with inherit prestige so William vowed to obtain it on his own. Tournaments are an obvious choice. The combination of thrill and the sense of being better than those born of noble blood make it even better. So far he participated in a few minor tourneys, each time excelling. Now he hopes he can climb the ladder and fight the best.
Romance - More of an imagined enjoyment than anything else really. William does not particularly care for books. Or so most people think. But at night he often stays up, reading some book about a knight in shining armor, saving a damsel in distress. It warms his heart, but it is his secret. He loves romance and the idea of love.
The Night - William has a strange fascination with the night. He has a hard time fully explaining why or how even. He simply loves the many aspects of it. Both the darkness to hide in and the moonlight to reveal a different him.

| Dislikes |

Noble arrogance - People oftentimes pretend they are somehow better than him simply because he's a bastard. Even those he can defeat in a fight somehow wear their bloodline as an armor for their honor. William hates those that feel they are better than him simply because they were born as a lord or lady.
Incompetence - Taken after his brother (and in part, after their shared father), William has a strong distaste for those who do not have what it takes. He will understand when someone admits they cannot do something, but he cannot bear the idea that someone screwed up knowing they couldn't do it.
Being limited - He's young and quite often had to hear he's not allowed to do something, simply because he's too young. The kid is certainly an adventurer and doesn't like being told he cannot do something simply because.
Dishonor - From a young age William was taught to honor his word. In fact, he only broke it twice. The second time he was severely punished. Since then he became a man of his word. Which means he cannot stand those who break their word. (Mind you, while he loathes to break his word, he seldom gives it too)
Slibah - Too many tales have been told. Too much blood was spent. Abhainn was wronged. Not just their founder. But every time someone died in the conflict, the kingdom was wounded. For that, there must be a reckoning. William hates the kingdom of Slibah. In fact, he hates everyone that is part of it.

| Fears |

Failing his Kingdom - Despite the fact that he is a bastard, William loves his country. In fact, he's willing to do everything (including dying), to protect it. One of his greatest fear is that he cannot protect the kingdom.
Being killed by a Slibah - A fear he dislikes to admit to. He knows there are people in the kingdom of Slibah that are better than him. And fears he doesn't have what it takes to take them on. Deep down he feels that he should, because he will have to be shield when things go south.

| Personality |

Young, spirited, troublesome, rude. Ask some people and you'll get one of those four. It is true that he's young and spirited. William has a tendency to do what he likes. Which doesn't always means he does what he's supposed to do. Noblemen etiquette are not really his thing. Unlike Maddox, he isn't particular spoiled or bratty. Instead, he simply takes what he wants. Sure he gets in trouble for it. But he doesn't really care. Furthermore, he can be dangerously unforgiving. Sure, he'll smile and take the hit. But he doesn't forget. Sadly for him, often times there is little he can actually do. So taking the hit becomes keeping it all inside. Until it, inevitably explodes and he goes off on his infamous bar crawls.

However, he is almost an entirely different person when it comes to his King. Towards the crown and throne, William shows another side of himself. He's patient, calm, loyal and competent. His king's word is law and he'll do whatever he is commanded. He has ambition, certainly. But not towards the throne. He knows he cannot rule. His place is on the battlefield, and he knows it.

| Background |

Being born as a bastard is, quite obviously, quite a bad start of one's life. What is worse is the fact that at the time Mrs. Pengrance committed adultery, she was still married to a local shopkeeper. Who did not nor ever knew of her and the king's relationship. When asked about the origin of the child, she admitted that she cheated on him but lied, claiming it was a guard's child. Not entirely a lie considering she did cheat with the guard as well. For a few years the family lived somewhat happy. The guard visited his "son" from time to time and paid to help raise him. The problem arose when the child grew older but bore no striking resemblance to himself. At least no physically. The kid did have a fighter's attitude though, which the guard liked. When confronting the wife, she confessed. The husband divorced her and died 4 years later of sickness. Never knowing the child he helped raise was the king's. The guard was rather dismayed over the whole ordeal. But still vowed to help raise him, as he started to like the child. When the child was old enough, he was taught how to fight. As it was the only thing the guard knew.

But then the king came. Rather hurt by the distance Maddox was taking, he adopted another bastard as his own; William. But William was not Maddox. He did not possess a love for chess, tactics or power games. Only with a sword in hand did William bare any resemblance but the king was far too old to teach him anything. This time it was the king that took distance from a child he could not truly call his own. William's time so close to his father's court was short and he cares little for it. Still, he grew up in the castle. He saw Maddox from time to time. He was everything William wanted to be. Great, strong, a good fighter and a true heir to the realm. Thus began William's far away fascination with the crown-prince.

He couldn't be taught by knights so he couldn't become a squire. Never the less he learned how to fight from other soldiers and hedge-knights. The master of the hunt often send him out into the woods to hunt out poachers in the winter. Some he killed, some he befriended. The stable master let him help around in exchange for horse riding lessons. In hunting, fighting and horse-riding William showed promise and talent. But in the arts of statecraft he was next to useless. He was 15 when his father died and it turned his life around. Suddenly he was accepted in the upper echelons of the court again. OUt of necessity he had to appear smarter by reading books so he read his favorites. He had to hunt with the nobles like a true prince and put them all to shame. Of course, by getting his hands dirty which was frowned upon. Either way, he grew up much the same way but just surrounded by more people of higher status. Now he has come of age and a prince. He wants to be there for the realm and his king. Even if he's but a footnote.

Congratulations! Your application has been accepted!

Located just over the hills and in sunny state of California, this prestigious college campus known as Hollywood University, is definitely welcoming to all of the students. With a welcome banner that is just as cheesy as any other college campus, the university has a certain uniqueness to it and that definitely shows with the type of students this campus attracts. The campus is adorned with pure green grass in abundance but you will also see sons and daughters of well known CEOs, famous movie stars, producers, musicians and even models roaming around the campus. Along with some students are almost famous in their right, too. The campus is definitely perfect for the students that do not want to leave their parent’s mansions or even the paparazzi as it is located in its premiere location, Hollywood Hills.

However, this year, things have changed. Not all students that attend Hollywood University hail from the famous hills of Hollywood though. This year the university now offers scholarships for those that are financially challenged but wish to attend the school for a good education. But for others that attend because it could be that they are one step closer to their dreams of stardom or so, that’s what they believe. While many students may enjoy the on campus activities such as sports or some kind of club, others enjoy going to the movie premieres, some sort of gala along with other star studded benefits. Missing class is a common occurrence and academic excellence is pretty lenient but for the right price, of course.

Friendships and relationships are being formed on a daily basis. Drugs, hookups, parties and maybe a little violence happen within the area of the school along with certain cliques being formed. So, you might want to choose carefully who you associate yourself with and heedless decisions might pilot your life into a progression of unfortunate mishaps and loads of drama at Hollywood University. Most have been raised around the money and fame for their entire lives while others have not. Students of the rich and the poor are bound to clash as they attend classes and clubs. You better hope that you can handle the drama that will be swirling around the campus. Though, with all of the drama included, can you also balance the academic schedule along with a rigorous event schedule that you value so much?

Before you apply to Hollywood University, you may want to ask yourself, do you have what it takes to attend this prestigious institute? Again, you better hope so.

The Young Rose - an almost derogatory nickname mostly used to indirectly reference the distance between Antoine and his guardian, King Jack I. It comes from Antoine taking partially after his guardian's wife, the Black Rose, whereas he has been quite distant from his father for most of his life.

Antoine stands at 5 feet and 10 inches with a light complexion, dark hair, and a build that sits somewhere between healthy and semi-athletic. He bears a head of light brown, curly hair, which is more often than not tied back for comfort. He is conscious of his appearance and makes an effort to frequently groom and wash, which includes a regular clean shave - not that his beard is anything close to handsome yet anyway. He has a small scar on his left calf from an accident at the river as a child which, while barely worth mentioning, serves as a useful identifying feature. He normally carries a hand-and-a-half sword on his hip, right beside a dagger.

Rubbing his temples - When stressed or in thought, Antoine will often rub at his temples with his fingers. He normally uses his left hand but the right sometimes acts as a suitable substitute.
Glancing - A habit he acquired from his perceptive guardian's wife, Antoine often sneaks glances at what's going on around him. He's quite wary in his own home, being distant from his family as he is, and in turn makes a note of paying attention to what's happening or changing.

| Hobbies |

Chess - Perhaps the only thing he's taken from his guardian, Antoine is a frequent chess player. While he enjoys the game, he believes there isn't much in the way of skills that can be transferred to "real life", so he strictly regards it as a game.
Reading - At the advice of the prior Castellan, Antoine is a frequent reader. While he has indulged in "the classics" out of apparent necessity, he currently enjoys more "relevant" pieces - such as legal documents, plans, and reports. He favors martial documents, namely documents relating to command and logistics.
Longswording - Antoine frequently practices with the two-handed longsword, admiring it the most out of the various martial arms choices. While he's definitely capable - for a 17 year old, at least - he's by no extent gifted; a sword isn't out of place in his hands, but he would be out of place in a melee.

Peace - From a bit of quiet to realm-wide peace.
Family - Antoine greatly values family and kin; it's just unfortunate his current guardians aren't his legitimate family.
Horsemanship - Antoine is close with Willem, his gelding. He enjoys spending time with him and often visits the stables or takes to the trails to unwind.
Archives and Libraries - Antoine enjoys spending time becoming familiar with archives and libraries, reading through texts and reports that strike his interest.
Lakes and Rivers - Antoine enjoys spending time at lakes and rivers, whether it be swimming or watching the water.

Extreme Cold - While extreme heat is tolerable with a well-deserved swim at the end of the day, extreme cold irritates Antoine. His hatred of winter is no secret, from both a personal and a logistics perspective.
Honor, conceptually - Antonio finds honor conceptually difficult: if one has sworn an oath to a liege, but the liege is a tyrant, then is the honorable option to break the oath and deliver justice, or to keep the oath and let it happen? He's currently in the process of some soul-searching to try and find an answer.
Ale - Antonio's "mother" has influenced him to have a disdain for ale, if nothing else. Unfortunately, wine doesn't particularly strike his fancy either.
King Jack I - Antonio is well aware of how Jack I killed his biological mother, even if he bides his tongue. He is also well aware of his "hobbies" - his inclination to hedonism, even at the expense of others. He isn't sure what he wants to do, but he knows he wants to do something, eventually.
Tardiness - Antonio is, as a man of logistics and statesmanship, punctual; naturally, tardiness is one of his pet hates as he has,
more often than not, planned out most of his day in advance.

Oceans and Seas - While Antoine loves rivers and lakes, he's almost irrationally afraid of deep water. He sees it as something akin to a void or abyss.
Torture - Seeing what his guardian can do has instilled a fear of torture in Antonio first hand. To this day, he has vowed to sooner fall on his sword before submitting to torture.

| Personality |

Antonio is a bit unconventional: while he's reserved, he's certainly not shy, and while he spends arguably too much thinking, he's certainly not an introvert. This comes from a mix of two things: unusual circumstances and the stage of his life. Within his househould,
he's meant to break bread with both the man who murdered his parents and the woman who doesn't miss any detail; the social isolation,
despite being surrounded by the royal family of Silbah of all things, presses him into a reserved and focused state of mind. To add to this, he's at the stage of his life where he's discovering his identity: learning to love, learning what he values, learning how to become the successful nobleman his guardian would have him become - or, more pressingly, that his real parents would be proud to see him become.

While his situation may cause an unconventional personality, it does bring out the best of his commitment and dedication. His life revolves around growing up - his identity, what's "right", what he should do. To this end, he's steadfast and determined, a trait that will likely stay with him for the majority of his life; after all, it's all he's known throughout his child.

| Background |

Antoine was born 17 years ago to the prior King and Queen of Slibah, shortly before the events that would lead to both of their deaths; so naturally, his childhood was a little bit complicated. He was barely old enough to form memories when he lost his mother. He only watched his father gradually slip in his state of mind for a bit over a year before he was whisked away by the prior Queen's family: following the suspicious circumstances of his mothers death, her grieving family plotted to abduct and "rescue" the King's other son. After all, the illegitimate son was in prison, so there was no fear of the throne coming to the lap of a pretender, right? Unfortunately, the King's unforeseen illness struck far too quickly, and before the family could plot to prevent the legitimization of the bastard son by returning a legitimate child to the fold, the cards were set; and after the now-legitimized bastard murdered the King in his own court, they certainly weren't returning him then. The prior Queen's family kept Antoine, hiding him from the world and plotting his return to the royal court.

Some time passed - not that nothing happened. It was a tricky situation: there was no doubt that now-King Jack I would plot to murder Antoine if he was discovered as a threat to his rule, although this would make a useful piece in a scheme to return the prior Queen's family to power in Slibah. When Antoine was only 12, still learning the common tongue with the scholars, the prior Queen's family set their scheme into motion: a miner turned in a young child to the city watch, stating that he found him abandoned in the mines and took him in, and that he suspects him to be the lost noble, Antoine. With some careful maneuvering and a bit of political pressure, Antoine was returned to the royal court as the heir apparent: while he would not press his claim on the Slibahn crown, he would instead inherit it; at least, if he made it that far.

Since Antoine returned to the royal court, he's come to understand - fear, even - the hedonistic nature of his adoptive father and has caught on to the nature of his legitimate family's plot. He's between a rock and a hard place and on top of all that, he's in the thick of growing up. While he hates the hedonist Jack I, fond of the vile extremes of pleasure as he is, he's certainly not fond of his immediate family either, noting their schemes to return to power using him as the main piece - at the risk of his life. The big question to him now is, what's the best thing to do? He thinks about it arguably too much.
