On that note I want a "sound sound" fruit to be a specific power. For example it wouldn't be a logia. I would also not pass a sound-sound fruit that allowed the user to move at the speed of sound. Someone that could use sound vibrations to their advantage YES that would pass. I want to hear the powers before I ever actually reject them.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the power scale of the RP due to my admitted lack of knowledge on the One Piece world (I'm currently right slap in the middle of the Alabasta arc, if that gives any indication of how far behind literally everyone else I am.) but considering that there are crew members that are capable of utilizing Haki, wouldn't someone using Sound-based powers in a similar vein to armament haki to cover themselves in a "sound armor" to move at sonic or supersonic speeds not be too out of place? It is possible my character wouldn't have had the fruit for long enough to know how to do that yet, but I assumed just being able to use haki pretty much allowed people to do superhuman feats such as dodging bullets, which typically move much faster than sound. Unless of course muskets can't do that in which case I'm stupid.

But yeah, the idea so far would be a Paramecia that lets him produce and manipulate sound waves through his voice or an instrument or etc. (supersonic clap, anyone?) for a variety of effects such as throwing his voice across certain distances and maybe echolocation due to superhuman hearing abilities. I dunno. I can scale him to whatever you think would be appropriate, since again, I don't know too much about One Piece, or I can always go the Doctor route unless @The Irish Tree's already made strides toward it. Don't want to step on any toes.

The only reason I have interjected here was just to hopefully encourage you to take a specific route for "sound" powers. As a slight and tiny spoiler there is an NPC that has been created that uses "sound" in a specific way later. It is doubtful that you would chose the powers as designated by this person (and if you did by some miracle) then I would scrap the character.

Heck, who knows. Maybe I'll say his guitar "ate" the fruit and he becomes utterly useless when separated from it!

@Boss MuffinMy personal favourite original Devil Fruit idea was the Fruit-Fruit Fruit, which let the user summon any kind of fruit. You can probably guess what the first limitation I put on it was. XD

Remind me to tell you the tales of the Hole-Hole Fruit. A fruit that let the user summon cartoonish black holes that led to nothing. He could also punch people in the balls by summoning one of the aforementioned holes directly bellow them and punching into a different hole.

That was a fun time.

...I find it somewhat amusing that I've ended up being the only one with a Devil Fruit thus far, when one of the problems I've noted about previous One Piece RPs I've been in was the overload of not just Devil Fruits, but really rare ones like Logias and Mythical Zoans. XD

They make for really fun NPCs though.

I remember one time I designed a Yonko that had eaten the "Saru-Saru no Mi, Model: Sun Wukong" and the World Government absolutely hated him for his over the top shenanigans. Like the time he started a war over a spilled cup of sake or when he conquered a system of Islands in the New World just because someone threw a piece of fruit at him.

Now how on Earth am I going to phrase a sound-sound fruit that doesn't sound ridiculously strong?

I'll throw up some tentative interest for this. What would a pirate crew be without a Musician with Sound-Sound fruit powers, a nudist chef, or a doctor that is also a human cactus?

Then again maybe this is the time to try something new.
