Background: Valeriya's parents were immigrants into the US. Having saved up the money to legally immigrate into the country, they sought out to make a new life for themselves in one of the last countries with an actual police force. On top of that, Valeriya was only 3 when they immigrated, and her young age had given them more incentive than they'd ever need to move to Neo-Bay. Once settled, her father looked for work. Her father was a mechanic in Russia, so he put his talents to use immediately, setting up a shop. Her mother had agreed to care for Valeriya until she was old enough to look after herself. But luck smiled upon them, as her father's talent became popular. He even had to move his business into a bigger building, and hire a few people to help him with the increased work flow. Things felt comfortable for a while.

Incident

Then Valeriya got her entire life changed in one blur of a moment.

A month after her 16th birthday a neighborhood boy who she had been friends with for 3 years attacked her. Commiting a series of crimes, with assault and kidnapping being two of the charges placed against him. It turns out he had been subtly hinting that he had a crush on her for 3 years, but she never picked up on it. So he snapped, kidnapped her, and beat her for not picking up on his hints. Not to mention that he had raped her. Once the police finally found them. They placed the boy under arrest, then thrown threw him in jail after the court deemed him guilty. However, that incident changed her forever. She had been a semi-social person who enjoyed reading and working with her father in his shop. Now she had become a very closed in person, who kept her face buried in either a book or a vehicle. And seldom ever interacted with people.

And now her typical clothing consists of pants, long sleeved shirts, or anything that covers up enough of her body that only her head, hands, and feet are seen.

4 months after the incident she joined up with the Youth Army Cadets. That's where she met Mack Yancy, although he left about a year later due to graduating. So they hadn't become friends, but were decent acquaintances, as she had only talked to him on a few occasions. But never let on about the incident to him, or anyone else she actually talked to. Her next 3 years in the Youth Army Cadets was spent in near solitude, studying and training hard until her graduation. Where she graduated honors and top of her class.

She did not apply to the Police department after he graduation. In fact, after she graduated, she went back to her father's shop to work for the next year before she joined up with an official racing circuit. Raced with them for 2 and a half years as the best driver in the league before leaving. But she hadn't raced with just the league, she also raced in underground circuits, and even worked with some of the security firms as a free lance driver. Hired for a job, and once the job was finished, she went about her usual business.
