Name: Shakti Subramaniam

Age: 16

Nationality: Indian

Picture/Description:

Abilities: N/A

Personality: Shakti is severe and judgmental, with a tendency to be condescending to those who do not meet her high standards. She is a perfectionist and places high value on individual effort. She doesn't believe that systems, environments, institutions, or fate can truly stop a motivated individual and won't accept that excuse from anyone. Shakti is driven when it comes to her goals and will do whatever it takes to achieve them, though she is too straight-forward to be a schemer.
Likes:
  • School
  • Trying fancy foods
  • Clocks/schedules

Dislikes:
  • Tardiness
  • Excuses
  • Narrow-mindedness/ignorance

Fears: Trypophobia. Invasion of personal space, body, and mind. She hates the idea of something getting under her skin, figuratively and literally. She believes there should be an absolute barrier of fear dividing any two individuals at all times.

Bio: Shakti was raised in India by fairly affluent parents who provided her with the best that could be found. Their expectation of her in return for all this was that she excel in her studies and become a 'global citizen'. She grew up in an educational system that still clung very strongly to the vestiges of British influence, so she learned to speak perfect English and wears a uniform to school. Rising to the top of her class, Shakti became something of a ruthless ice queen. With her whole future ahead of her, her biggest worry in life right now is deciding what field she wants to focus on in higher education.
As Clementine ran with the other Strike Force members, she noticed how easy it was with the power suit on to move at a speed that normally would have winded her in less than a minute.

When they arrived at the junction, Clementine flet her blood run cold. She had seen Githkin dispatching rioters on the news before, but they had only ever showed a bare minimum of Githkin tactics, giving the impression that the Githkin were controlled, surgical, almost pacifist in their tendencies. To suddenly be on the receiving end of Githkin tactics, tactics that were revealed to be far more brutal than she had ever believed, had her quaking slightly.

Yet Tommy showed tremendous courage, flinging his shield at one of the Githkin. This act inspired Clementine somewhat, but instead of understanding the tactic of focusing fire on single targets, Clementine didn't wish to accidentally shoot the rebel that the Githkin was holding (even though that rebel was probably already dead), and aimed at another of the Githkin with her pistol. Clementine mentally reminded herself that Githkin were merely constructs, nothing more than nanomachine creations without minds, without lives, despite how organically realistic they looked. Clementine fired two shots in quick succession, the shots leaving the muzzle of her pistol comfortably; the gun was designed to mitigate recoil and preserve her aim for subsequent shots.
I'm a bit busy today, but will get a CS up tomorrow, hopefully.
I'm planning on making a mage. I had mentioned this in the interest check, but I'm just reposting it here.

I'm thinking of making a mage who specializes in sonic vibrations. Ideally, my knight will have a bludgeon-type Gear (like a bat, 'iron-whip', or kanabo) that vibrates like a tuning fork with adjustable frequency. The Gear can be tuned to the destructive resonant frequency of various materials. My mage could create 'cymatic zones' that amplify the Gear's destructive ability to whatever material the Gear is tuned to as long as the knight stays within the zone, as well as casting other sonic/air-based attack spells, such as sonic air-pressure slashes, sonic booms, vacuums, vertigo-inducing disorienting noise, etc. of course, whoever wants to be my partner, I am open to changes.

Another thought is making a gravity mage, though I haven't put as much thought into this.

Although I suppose instead of the partner weapon I mentioned, my partner knight would probably go with hammer.

of course, this is just a preliminary idea, if you don't like it, I will gladly brainstorm with my partner to come up with something that suits their tastes better, though I think partnering with a knight whose weapon is armor would be super interesting.
Also, I just realized, Stern Algorithm, you were in the original version of this from 2 years ago. Welcome back to dealing with my lack of GMing skills.

I thought this idea sounded familiar. I don't remember my character from that, which I suppose is for the best.
Will we be assigned powers in the IC or in the OOC? I'm asking because I generally create my character with their power in mind. But if in IC, then I will create my character without that knowledge.
Interested! Looking forward to learning about what themes/constraints there are in the magic system (I say this because I find constraints stimulate my personal creativity more than completely open-ended).
Interested!
