Hey all, I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.
Hearing Catherine praising her for having raw talent, and that she did much better than most of the other new students, Kanako couldn't help but brighten up. She was proud on her ability, and being praised like this made her even prouder. She would make sure that she would develop that talent properly so that she could make Catherine even prouder of her.
Kanako immediately did as she was told. She first examined the stance Catherine was making, before attempting to imitate it as best as she could. The first training would be some breathing exercise, and the point of the training was to make her more attuned with her element. So Kanako concentrated herself at every breath she took and released. She felt the flow of the air coming in from her nose into her lungs and then coming back out.
Thanks to Catherine's tact, Kanako was able to focus entirely on the lesson, since she still didn't realize that her skirt was gone.
Kano chuckled to himself politely at the first few attempts ShiZhen tried at attempting to repel the water. Indeed it was harder than it looked which was why he chuckled. So many students wanted to master everything quickly.
"The trick is directing the water. Not forcing it."
Fingers closed in a fist the headmaster pointed his hand at ShiZhen, taking his time to spread his influence across a large area around the young pupil. The change of the water would not be very obvious but under his command it became almost motionless, until Kano extended his fingers.
The water around ShiZhen, including the water on her outfit and hair, flowed out steadily until she sat on the smooth stones. All the water in the pool near her had receeded as if a sheet of glass had surrounded her.
"Perhaps repelling water might not be a good start for you just yet. Close your eyes and focus on the water around you, flowing free, until you can hear it in your mind. When that happens just imagine it collecting over your hands instead of away from them."
As the chorus grew more fervent, the stone around Lexus Dominiel's neck began to thrum with arcane power. Jolts of energy pulsed through him. A strange magic was at work and Akena's heartstone was reacting to it.
The pale, silvery light radiated from quickly increased in intensity, until the world around Lexus was dyed in its color. The floating specks of light swarmed like a cloud of fireflies and slowly coalesced into a delicate humanoid form. At last, Akena had awoken.
When she finally manifested in full, her deep amber eyes seemed hazy and she looked to be in a daze. "Lexus... Dominiel? Is that you?"
Yuan wanted to say something but decided to keep his distance, this event was no doubt something that would need to be reported back to the Slane Theocracy. Depending on what would happen there was a chance one of the Scriptures would have to get involved in the area. Still he could not help but say a little something not exactly right for a priest to say. "By the gods...magnificent."
The priest of the Dragonfather's Cathedral was the next to speak, this directly at Lexus and Akena. "Who are you to appear so brazenly in the house of the Dragonfather? Though if you are here to offer your respects then you are of course welcome in his presence." The rest of the congregation looked back at the newcomers unsure of how to respond to the sudden course of events while Yuan spied on from outside.
"As long as you keep Akena safe, you're free to do as you please, Lexus. Just don't cause trouble for the people here." She hesitated upon speaking those last few words. If she were honest with herself, she was more concerned about Lexus stirring up trouble than Himitsu. Its narrow view of the world was troublesome enough, that fact that December herself was the center of it only complicated matters further. While she appreciated his loyalty, she didn't enjoy having to choose her words carefully around the golem, and wouldn't mind a little bit of time apart.
"Once we find lodging, I'll come find you."
I decide to tell the group about my meeting with the god Abares some other time. "Look if it was about the thing I did a while ago, I'm sorry and it won't happen again. You guys could've even danced with us, you party poopers. Right now I'm fine going anywhere with you guys as long as it has food and as much as I want to explore the place on my own, I'll definitely be eye candy thanks to how I look though I can't compete with your level, Danielle. Anyways, you guys lead the way."
"Right, right the magician's guild sounds like a solid plan. But!" Danielle decided to strike an unnecessarily dramatic pose for good measure. "Before anything else happens I am finding the nearest clothing shop and getting myself some proper attire! You two can go there together first will I get a little shopping done, or can can come with me first if you like, but we'll meet up there regardless. If we're gonna be here for a while we better learn as much as you can."
"You're right." She said after a nervous pause. "We should find you suitable clothes first. I couldn't tell you how many lecherous looks you've gotten just this morning." An impish grin played across her lips. "I stopped counting at 50."
"So, h-how did I do, Miss?" she asked Catherine eagerly. What the poor girl didn't realize that thanks to her wind ball, she had shredded her own skirt to pieces. Now, she stood in front of a teacher wearing nothing but a pair of pantyhose-covered panties down there.
"I hope you brought a bathing suit with you. To control water you must hear it. Where better than in the relaxing pools? Lets do an exercise where you focus on repelling water on an area of your body. Being in the springs is also very relaxing after an event like the one with the water snake obstacle. Please,"
Kano motioned to the hotsprings steaming behind him as he walked over to, and onto, the waters. Treading the surface as if it were solid.
"What you see is water below repeling me, instead of simply enveloping me as you would expect. It is communion with the waters themselves as you project your desire to it."
