I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.
"Shit, shit, shit, boss room, boss room, boss room..." Tessa thought to herself as the party entered the massive hall. On-edge the whole trek, Tessa had said very little and went a bit overkill with her offensive spells whenever a goblin so much as peeked around a corner. Every threat, no matter the size, absolutely had to be nullified immediately.
Tiferet carefully walked forwards another couple steps, brushing a dangling chain out of the way as she checked around the room. Voice still at a whisper, she returned to the group and said, "Alright everyone. Looks like we've got three options: left, right, and forwards. Which one do y'all think we should take?"
Tessa thought to herself before remember a surefire method for getting out of a maze, the right-hand rule. "We should go right," She said with some confidence, before looking down at her feet in confusion. ...or was it the left-hand rule?
Before she had time to figure out the algorithm in her head, a small rat ran out from a crack in the wall. Instinctively, Tessa cast Kinetic Chains, causing the web of chains that followed her to send out a wave, like someone whipping a jump rope, in all directions, doing a mild amount of damage, but used mostly as a pushback, to keep enemies away from her squishier allies. What she didn't account for however, was the din this caused, as the rattling of the chains echoed in raucous cacophony through stone halls. The rat of course, died, it's carcass limply tossed aside by the force of the spell as the noise continued to travel away from the party in all available directions.
ShiZhen left Gym feeling pretty down. A conflict had broken out, and there was nothing she could do to stop it. Not only that, she felt pretty awful for what she had down to Mr. Manilow. If her contribution to making him come down had actually resulted in success, it would have been a different matter, but it was the fight between the two other students that ended the class, so ShiZhen just felt like an ass for making him wet and uncomfortable. Having older siblings, ShiZhen was often witness to arguments that she had no power to stop, but had to prevent the toxicity from spilling down to her younger siblings. This felt like one of those situations.
The time between the end of gym class and the start of the aptitude test went by in a confused blur. Milling through the crowd of students, ShiZhen was unable to track down her classmates in the sea of bodies and soon found herself descending to her own little testing square. ShiZhen had never really tried to do anything forceful with her powers. The uncertainty and nervousness mounted, as the moisture around her began to condense, coalescing around her to provide her comfort. Realizing what was happening, ShiZhen recalled her training for the past three months and controlled the rising mist enough to not have it drench her like it would in the past. She instead directed it all into Kracko, who grew in size and began lifting up towards the cavern ceiling. This was it, ShiZhen thought to herself, as she rememebred everything she had learned about weather in her spare time, and focused more and more moisture into the growing cloud. Soon the cloud collected enough moisture and filled the air above the proving grounds. ShiZhen smiled until a bolt of lightning shot up from another student demonstrating his prowess. For moment, nothing happened, but suddenly, Kracko arced, sending a bolt of lightning out as well, triggering a massive downpour from the cloud. A few more arcs of lightning shot out indiscriminately from the cloud as it released all of its collected moisture on the students, before shrinking back down to its normal size and returning next to ShiZhen's shoulder. ShiZhen was drenched and exhausted, having never made Kracko that large before. She only hoped no one had been hurt.
Catherine watched with interest along with the other teachers as the first years demonstrated the results of their first season of training. in particular, Kanako Nagasaki's demonstration caught her eye. What surprised her was how Kanako chose to harness one of the most difficult to control aspects of air, cyclones, to perform a task that required incredible precision, hovering. Yet the girl had succeeded, not only that, she was able to concentrate enough to conjure a couple more whirlwinds. Catherine hovered over to Kanako after her demonstration. "Bravo," she clapped, applauding not only the girl's aptitude, but her seemingly contradictory insistence on taking the more difficult path to achieve an equivalent result, all to prove to herself that she can. Like, she could just not wear a skirt, she could fly without using cyclones. But she was straightforward, almost naive and unaware that she was doing this to herself. And Catherine respected that purity. But more importantly, Catherine was beginning to surmise that the rotation of air was Kanako's personal specialty, fitting her personality in how contradictory and roundabout the girl could be at times. Some of the most devastating weather phenomena also relied on the rotation of air, and if harnessed properly, Kanako had the potential to become a great and terrifying wielder of the element. "As far as I'm concerned, you've passed."
Tone down the superior intellect, supercomputer smarts are a power all on their own.
Wait.
So my intention was for Dr. Fang AKA Interference to have super intellect, being a Tony Stark-level genius so that she could lead a team of superheroes, build upgrades for her team members, and plot the overthrow of the government. The thing is, I intended for the inside of her suit to be laced with fiber optics. Since she can emit and detect light through her skin, I intended for her to use that as a way to communicate with her suit, which is used to control and coordinate a swarm of small drones that help her set up acoustic zones that amplify and augment her wave-based powers, since I'm going full-science and real waves are finicky at best. She's also supposed to be able to listen to and interpret radio waves without the need of an actual machine.
Like, she understands waves intimately.
Shit like this goes on inside her head all the time.
Let me know if this is not the character you accepted.
Interference wears a caped, white enamel androgynous power suit that is easily mistaken for a robot. It looks something like the following image.
But the head has a single red camera in the center like the following image.
Name: Dr. Fang Ai Ling (Dr. Eileen Fang)
Quote:
"Last year, Earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned. And you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, that can't be controlled. You forced our hand. We had to come up with something."
-Nick Fury
Alias: Interference, or Dr. Fang
Age: 35
Gender: Female
Occupation: Government researcher/superhero team hero recruiter/team leader
Abilities:
Eileen has the ability to control phenomena that exhibit mathematical wave behavior starting with sound and light, possibly getting into gravitational waves in the future. She uses technology to augment her abilities relying on harmonics. The light and sound is emitted and absorbed/detected from her body (skin). She is also blessed with a very high intelligence.
Sound Wave Emission/Reception: Eileen can emit as well as absorb/hear audible sound as well as sound outside the audible range, allowing her to mimic voices, make herself completely silent, send out shockwaves, fire disorienting beams of ultrasound, produce the brown note, have superhearing, tell when people are lying, etc.
EM Wave Emission/Reception: Eileen can emit and absorb/see visible light as well as light outside the visible spectrum allowing her to fire microwaves, create flashbangs, camouflage, have x-ray vision, night-vision, etc.
Gravitic Wave Emission/Reception: Not yet.
Weaknesses:
Her power is purely offensive, her body has typical human frailty. Her armor protects her somewhat, but isn't that strong, and cannot withstand a direct punch from someone with 'peak physical condition'. Without her suit, her power is also extremely unfocused due to waves' natural behavior to dissipate in all directions and losing power as a function of distance. Her most powerful abilities also often requires specific conditions for maximum effect, namely the creation of acoustic/harmonic zones with the aid of her swarm.
Equipment:
Power Suit: Provides minor protection, mainly used to focus or augment her sound and light abilities, gives her control of her 'locusts'.
Surveillance Swarm: a swarm of microrobot drones in the form of beetles/locusts used mainly for spying and eavesdropping, though Eileen can also use them offensively by laying them around in intricate patterns that amplify the harmonics of an area, augmenting her powers.
Blast Bludgeon: a long, bat-like triangular rod that functions like a tuning fork. Eileen uses this to triangulate the harmonic frequencies of objects she strikes with it. After several strikes, she is able to determine the vibrational frequency that is most destructive to the particular material she is striking. She already knows what frequency works best for concrete and bone-through-flesh.
Bio:
Eileen went through her life as a model citizen. Eileen was obedient and went through life without incident. She was disciplined to achieve success and perfection in her studies through harsh parenting, and the occasional use of a makeshift sensory deprivation chamber as punishment for the rare times her grades dipped. Despite that, she seems well-adjusted enough. Her intellect allowed her to achieve a high profile academic career doing research for the government. Her research is in optronics: using photons instead of electrons for data storage and transfer. Optronics will be significantly faster and more powerful than electronics, so Eileen plans to make artificial intelligence based on optronic hardware. Mostly her work is in weapons development, creating efficient laser weapons and sensor technology for the military, as well as various surveillance applications for internal policing and espionage. However, to harness light and sound in this way, Eileen relies on special piezoelectric crystals of alien origin, unearthed from what seems to be an ancient crash site, secretly guarded by the government. While trying to deduce the refractive and acoustic properties of the crystals in order to create devices to harness them, an accident occurred, resulting in Eileen acquiring a mastery over the wave phenomena the crystals exhibited. With a keener understanding of sound and light, Eileen dove deeper into her research, though she now had a new goal: to use her research and her powers for the betterment of mankind. Leveraging her research position and her overall compliant nature, she hopes to receive the government's blessings to start a program to recruit and utilize superpowered individuals. Early in her life, due to her intelligence, she saw the governments of the world as inherently broken, but she did not succumb to angst and rebellion. She sees super-powered individuals as the catalyst necessary to subjugate the old conflicting governments and create a new united utopia for Earth; an Earth that can stand toe-to-toe with the allies and enemies in the galaxy and the universe at large. Her final ambition is to establish a Star Trek-esque United Federation of Planets, with Earth at the center, securing a dominant place for Earth in the universe. Her intentions are pure, but her methods may be a little extreme as she has no qualms with 'sterilizing', cleansing or purging the world of the 'old order' as she sees necessary.

Here's something happy~
And here's something a little more...contradictory and noisy~
I take it your 'like' means Interference is accepted? Interference may want to recruit Graffiti. It's also interesting because Interference mostly uses sound as her main offense, and since sound is, in essence, pressure waves in the air, Graffiti's ability is a natural counter to Interference's.
I also have another character idea to introduce, let me know if it's too out there. Also, trap incoming.
Appearance:
Saving Grace also has a glowing golden halo hovering over his head when a checkpoint is active. The angle it's at indicates his mood.
Name: Shakti Sharma
Quote:
"Life is a dream for the wise, a game for the fool, a comedy for the rich, a tragedy for the poor."
-Sholom Aleichem
Alias: Saving Grace (or simply, Grace)
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Occupation: Singer, musician, TV personality
Abilities:
Save Scumming - Shakti can erect a checkpoint at a fixed location, which allows himself and selected individuals to warp to the checkpoint.
Shakti leaves a copy of his halo as a checkpoint at a location. The checkpoint has a 20 yard area of effect.
The checkpoint is created when Shakti 'anoints' someone by kissing them on the forehead. The anointed becomes a 'party member' and has a halo marking them as such.
Shakti can currently anoint a maximum of 3 party members, although each subsequent member must be anointed within the checkpoint's area of effect.
Any party member can teleport back to the checkpoint after a five second channeling time and if they are within the checkpoint's area of effect. Though not necessary, it is easier to focus on the channel by pointing the index and middle finger at one's forehead. As party members move away from the area of effect, their halos dim. Once they leave the area, their halos vanish and they lose the 'anointed' status, and need to be reanointed in order to use the checkpoint.
Shakti can also choose to teleport any party members within range back to the checkpoint, he also needs to channel to do this.
As long as Shakti is within range of the checkpoint, he can teleport anywhere within the area of effect but still has to channel. If Shakti leaves the area of effect, the checkpoint collapses entirely.
Shakti can erect a checkpoint twice per day, and the checkpoint lasts a maximum of 12 hours. When he erects a new checkpoint, he needs to re-annoint party members, and the number of 'lives' is refreshed.
Teleports are limited to a fixed number of 'lives', currently five, which are shared between party members.
In the future, Shakti will learn the ability to revive fallen party members at the checkpoint. Use of this ability is also limited to number of lives.
Weaknesses:
Little to no offensive capability, little to no defensive capability. Use of the ability is hampered by limited number of uses (lives) as well as vulnerable channeling times and setup requirements.

Bio:
Shakti is sweet, pleasant and gentle. He is an extrovert and loves people, approaching people randomly to strike up conversations. He can be uncomfortably forward and touchy-feely. Though he can be sensitive at times, for the most part, he's learned to shrug off aggression and criticism, choosing to focus on the good. He is motivated by a strong desire to experience new things and to be useful to others.
Shakti is an Indian-American born to hard-working, well-educated immigrant parents, who made enough to provide their son with a comfortable upbringing. He expressed a fluid gender identity at an early age, something which his parents allowed him to explore. Though he faced some antagonism, he had a strong support network from friends and family and was able to shoulder through the worst of the bullying. For the most part, life was pretty normal and mundane, and Shakti escaped into entertainment: through music, being a drummer in a garage band, through collectible figurines and plastic model kits, and through games, specifically RPGs and MMOs. One day, he purchased a newly released MMORPG, Maximum City, where you could be the superhero of your dreams. However, upon firing up the game, something strange happened. Shakti woke up in the world of Maximum City, in the avatar body he had created for himself, and with a power set resembling the dancer/cleric/support classes that he typically played in other games. Taking things in stride, and unsure whether he was in a dream, a coma, or some form of afterlife, Shakti decided to chase his dreams. Being much cuter than he had ever been in real life, Shakti joined an idol scouting agency to become a pop star. But what he really wants to do is be a superhero, but the rules governing his power made it all but impossible to actually help people or fight crime. He needed to join a team...

If no one else wants Shakti in their team, Dr. Fang (AKA Interference) will recruit him into her government-sponsored Hero Team.
To the players currently filling a Teacher role, if you want to have your character do something IC please let me know. There's an optional event same as the Students are getting that you can participate in, to show off what your teacher is capable of.
