I don't.

Yes, because they can afford to. They're making that art for themselves, not for a specific project or person. That's the difference. If an artist makes art for a project or person, they should be paid upfront 100% of the time. I've got a chart somewhere if you want.

I didn't sleep in that time. :/

Nobody gets to be special in this concept. Everyone can.

Not if it's as a gesture of friendship.

<Snipped quote by Extra>

Eh. I always like to overpay for artistic work of any kind. Personal thing. Besides, it doesn't really matter until/if it actually comes to that point.

<Snipped quote by Techspert>

When are you going to release SAS anyway? I've been looking for it on steam and haven't found it.
And you should totally go ahead and make that five hour simple DS you mentioned, I'm curious how it would turn out.

I delayed the release to polish the game more. I'm looking forward to Wizard Physics (name subject to change) the most, though. It's really hard to blend the story and gameplay well in SAS.

I thought you wanted any MR game to actually be good.

Anyone gonna watch The Runner hosted by Matpat and maybe win money for it?

Isn't it YouTube Red?

*Laughs a bit*

<Snipped quote by Techspert>

You plan on pigging out, or takin' it easy?

Easy. I can't eat that much sugar.
<Snipped quote by Techspert>

*Shrugs again and starts walking*

<Snipped quote by Darlit Glitch>

Sorry about that.

*Goes as well*

<Snipped quote by Techspert>

I can't promise anything.

<Snipped quote by Multifarious>

It's fine, just warn me next time.
Alan: Even if she warned you, it wouldn't help much.
-... shut up.

Ew.
<Snipped quote by Techspert>

Next time, i'm just gonna teleport, otherwise i might lose my lunch.
Alan: You kidding? That was actually a little enjoyable.
- *looks a bit annoyed.*
Alan: *Looks a bit amused.*

Please don't.
<Snipped quote by Techspert>

It is nice, but then again, some people who eat but don't have to say eating is better than not, so...
*Shrugs*

It's a whole sense you don't get to use.

<Snipped quote by Techspert>

Yes.

Awesome. Let's get going.
<Snipped quote by Techspert>

I wnat to help though!

<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>

No. Not a hundred. Like probably Twenty. I draw things by hand first then move it to digital. I don't really need a lot tbh. Sorry if I made it sound like I need to do a lot.

I mean, the discussion is moot until somebody actually starts on an MR game. I have to finish the Sword & Shield trilogy first, and probably a mini side-game to test out a new concept because it'll almost certainly make some money, but I really do need to get this first one done before I can start making games for people for free.
<Snipped quote by Techspert>

Sure I can. I wouldn't be able to anyway.

<Snipped quote by Extra>

I know. I was prepared for that if actually going through with it. I'm aware of how important it is to pay artists for their work.

<Snipped quote by Techspert>

Any artist that does work for a project should be paid upfront for their work. It's only right. Additional payment based on profit made is also good, but otherwise they're losing time and resources that could be going towards paying projects. I was planning on sending him 100 for the images in the dating sim if I ended up actually making it, but luckily it would be the last thing needed so I wouldn't even have asked him for art til the game was otherwise completely done.

That's not true. Everyone has the potential to make something of themselves.

There are plenty of artists who do what they love for the sake of creating it and offer it for free to any who wish to use it. By the logic that you should pay all artists for their work, you should pay the Unity devs whenever you use Unity, even though they provided their engine for free.

"Punch first, ask questions while punching."

You slept for four hours.
<Snipped quote by Techspert>

Need money for art.

I guess...

Don't worry about it then. An MR dating sim up to Dark's standards would likely not be able to be made (by me, at least), but I have plenty of sources of free assets if I ever do make an MR game at all. Money is a tough game to play, especially in game creation.
<Snipped quote by Techspert>

Hm...I see. *gives you my hat*
Ruffle your shirt, good enough.

*Laughs*
Is ruffling this thing enough?

<Snipped quote by Techspert>

The whole process is blech. Food itself can sometimes look nice, but the entire process of chewing and swallowing and digesting and, worst of all, getting rid of the waste is just icky.

I can agree to that. Sometimes I wish my stomach were a nuclear reactor so I can have 100% efficiency in food to energy conversion. It might be nice to not have to eat at all, but eh.
<Snipped quote by Techspert>

Eating is nasty to me.

Why? I know we've discussed it, but why?
