MR DX is post-Torn/mid-In the Footsteps DX. DX lost his arm early on in Torn and later grew it back when he basically beat the shit out of the Satan Reaper. Losing his arm is actually a trope to me because it happens like... 17 times throughout what I've thought up of Torn.
Not a universal trope, though.

The only reason I think I could've predicted Yang losing an arm if I cared to think about things that might happen in RWBY is because Yang is a lot like early DX as far as I can tell, and he lost an arm.

Not everything follows the same tropes. DX was also very different, at least in MR.
Yang loses an arm? Hahaha, nice. Honestly, I probably could've predicted that JUST from the personality that's been shown to me about her from fan stuff.
5 trillion credits says she gets an incredibly OP badass weapon upgrade to make up for it, and has it for at least half a season before any of the other three get their equiv upgrade.
You think you can predict anything, though.
One thing I thought about yesterday, however: AC, while extremely entertaining, leaves a lot to be desired from a writing standpoint.
