Which brings me to the second less known but still important reason for the EDB's existence. Connection. We want as many people as we can connected together across universes. Makes it much easier to save people in other universes if you already have a base there, right?

It has so many great properties! A big push in space travel happening in some Earth universes right now is to use microwaves instead of rocket fuel for propulsion. True, some societies are way past that, but it's still cool to see budding civilisations making great progress.
