The core of an individual is the mystery of life, which dies when it is 'grasped'. That is also why symbols want to keep their secrets.

Bio

The Harbinger of Ferocity

Agent of the Wild, Aspect of the Ferine
Nature, red in tooth and claw.

"There is, indeed, no single quality of the cat that man could not emulate to his advantage."
- Carl Van Vechten

I am, at my core, a personification and manifestation of those things whose blood and hearts run red with the ferocity of the animal world. It is this which convicts and controls my works, my writing, my being; the force and guidance in which I gain wisdom from. It is what inspires me as a creator and weaver of words, the very thing I admire as an author.

My leanings, savage as they are, are of the feline sort as there exists no greater lineage of beasts whom can be drawn from. No others captivate and motivate my talent and skill as the greatest of cats do.

I see no issue with a sizable post being made @Mr Rage, time permitting of course.
Because there never can be enough.

We should be approachable now, given we travelled a great distance and are in a foreign land, @Ojo chan 42. So to those in question, you are welcome to meet with us.
What appeared to be the enemy filled his vision as a woman in light leathers and a kobold stood side by side without any sort of conflict. While at first the man expected her to be some sort of prisoner, their ambient chatter inferred something else altogether; collaborators, which to Brannor only meant one thing in that an ally of the darkness should be swift to join it in the darkest dream. So was it that the man, with all the cunning and stealth of a hunter observing his unaware quarry, drew up his bow from his concealed position; the arrow knocked and string drawn lightly. His feral eyes shifted to the elven huntress who had accompanied him, awaiting her mark before looking back to a half orc and yet another kobold which had joined the first pair. The intensity and focus in his eye told her which target he sought; the armored woman struck him as more dangerous than the kobolds.

The enemy was drawing nearer, alert now, but ill prepared it seemed for an ambush in wait, walking to the left of the rows of scorched hay and pillaged houses. Hiding was not going to prove an effective option unless luck or fate had it that these four foes, one of which bore something in hand - likely loot - were not as wary as they should be.

All the same, the man exhaled and centered himself on his task, surrounded in the ash and smoke, crouched low and concealed beside a building. If right guided his arrow, then his mark's death would be swift, as he hoped so would the ranger's quarry. There was no need to further the chaos or cruelty here on this night - only do what must be done.

@The Harbinger of Ferocity I have not yet had an example case from anywhere, so it is currently difficult for me to give a concrete answer. We can try different approaches in this game and see what works and what does not. We can start with the damage dice of the weapon lowered to 2d4 on such out of the ordinary maneuvres for starters, if it is okay with you. Pommel strikes might be better off as 1d6 though. As I said, we'll have to see.

That seems respectable if you just want to decrease the dice size themselves or use a comparison weapon such as a shortsword or a mace for subtypes. All the same, do let me know! I intend to use them.

I will post this coming noon.
A question, @Hekazu, while it isn't truly said anywhere in this edition, how are you handling variant fighting styles? By this I mean aspects such as half-swording, pommel strikes, and cross-guard blows? Just a curiosity given several off us are bearing weapons that can perform these tasks. I have been thinking of this for a time, mostly as to what rule set it falls under.

Reduced damage dice? Direct comparison and down in damage? As an example, a half-swording great sword dealing only a d6 and its modifier, but as piercing?

I was thinking of some cinematic European type martial arts to perform with my weapon in particular.
So... is anyone going to post?
@The Harbinger of FerocityWhen the Guild was the old Guild, before the take down and what not, there was an Rp I had running that was high fantasy. And there were many people that were enjoying it. But there was one guy, that would not only listen to when addressed, but ignored others when things were not going his way.

My job as a GM is to provide a world, characters and a story that goes with an adventure that players effectively forge from what I give them. But when some guy just basically inserts his own lore, without my consent or talking about it, it isn't unfair when I give a warning, especially when it annoys everyone around him. It just wasn't a fun experience.

There was another project I can throw shade at... All I will say is... "Zelda does not need Christianity. Termina was a Realm of Link's Imagination and this cannot exist with Hyrule." This was before the crash too. The Cringe was real.

The aspect of moderation and review is not only the right but duty of a Game Master. Players if any sort who ignore the, "Sorry, that does not fit the theme and idea I had in mind." warning really are wrong if they do attempt to impress it further. There is no issue with outright stating "no" to additions. But, it all should be considered and weighed.

On the other side, as that can be a universal problem, I can say players should always approach the Game Master with new ideas, even if they are declined - where appropriate of course.
@The Harbinger of Ferocity
Upon reading all that, I sorta just went. "Though, you do have valid points, Fandom Rps usually do take traction away from different, to original ideas simply because they have more namesake than original projects. It is a risk of interest and overall can be a waste of time, even though I do groan at a lack of original projects." It just sucks when you know the person with the original idea they had just sorta gets... deluded because of "Don't know it, don't want it." mentality a lot of people seem to display.

Let's not get started on people trying to insert their lore into your story when they have not even asked if they could or not.

A good portion of those issues with people wedging in possibly unrelated material comes from Game Masters of original content feeling, in many cases, obligated to be more open and welcoming to any submission put forward. I know I am extremely cautious and examine each closely, but by telling players "Sorry, but that is not what I am looking for." often results in them just withdrawing. It is a fine, difficult balance. One has to be willing to stick to the idea at hand and in mind, but find sufficient flexibility to make others' ideas work.

If one is fortunate, the result can be really well made, very creative content that expands the world and how it behaves, but most players would rather just play than have to explain and integrate fine details and mechanics. No fault of their own - there is only so much time one has for roleplaying and world building in one of those.
This morning is quite wonderful, as the sky is dark with clouds and we are getting light rain. Then again, it is the time of year where this desert actually receives rain.
