It was supposed to be a normal combat drop for a squad of the 3rd Special Forces Group. They were being deployed to the independent state of Puntland, it used to be apart of Somalia, in support of a Puntland operation against insurgents. They were deployed by HALO jump into the region. It was expected to go as planned, and the squad would assist Puntland forces.
However, during the jump, an intense storm suddenly formed in their path, and they were forced to descent through it. While the storm did not harm them, it did send members off course. But when they did pull their chutes and land. They would quickly discover that the mountainous environment they were supposed to land in, was replaced by a forest with no mountains in sight.
Now scattered away from each other and confused about where they are. These soldiers have to link up and figure out where they are. Eventually, learning that they are in a fantasy world, but something very bad has happened to it.

Overview
Hello and welcome to the rp. In this Gate-like rp(If you are familiar with Gate anime or manga or not), you will be playing as spec ops members of the United States 3rd Special Forces Group that was assigned to a squad to help Puntland in an operation against insurgents. Only during their HALO jump after passing through a sudden storm. They find themselves in an unknown place, a diffident world. A post-apocalyptic fantasy world as they will discover. Where they will explore and meet the locals they come across as they try to find a way home.
Now, in regards to the characters, they can be what you want, male or female, as it makes sense for them to be there. For character pics, go for drawn pics. As for player slots, as I have discovered, squads are bigger than four people, it turns out, so the maximum possible size of the squad will be twelve or fourteen. But the total size of the squad depends on how many people join at the start. NPCs will fill the slots not taken if needed. Which if more people join, then they will take the spots of the NPCs.
As for the post-apocalyptic fantasy world, it will be revealed as the characters explore it, find out what happened to it, and discover the ills that plague it.
So that is it, and if anyone has any questions, then feel free to ask.

He quietly went back to finish his test and listened to what Gillmore said about the fun part of training. Which apparently involves a firing range. As Victor got up and went there, Javier just finished the test and with that done. He was more than happy to see what the fun part was all about.
So Javier went to follow Gillmore and Victor to the firing range, and took a moment to look at the scene one he was up there. When Gregory was mentioned., he spoke up nervously, "Who is Gregory.... and I take it doing that is a bad thing?"
Desmond was on his way to the Seluna Temple as part of exploring the town. He has seen most of it by now, and it was clear it was a growing town. While his buildings are not yet done, it was nice to see most of the town being done and ready for any blizzard. Even getting a chance to see the royals' residence. Quite the sight, but that is a given since it is the royals' place, after all.
Though he figured that now he was out and about, he should visit the Seluna Temple to see how that was. Desmond was bound to go there eventually and now seemed like the best time for it. Plus, the cold was starting to get to him because of the heavy snowfall, despite Silver seeming quite content at the moment.
He chuckled to himself at the thought as he walked down the snow-covered path, sometimes gazing at the nearby lake. Though even she would be grateful to get out of the heavy snow, at least for some time. Granted, it must be an odd sight for anyone around. A partly wool, partly fur-clothed man with a large owl on his shoulder just walking around town. He even bet they would be surprised that he was a merchant and not a hunter.
Still, as Desmond got closer and closer to the temple. He started to make it out and despite the falling snow. It was quite a sight, it reminded him of the temple where he lived. As he reached the front door. Desmond tried to make himself look presentable and brush off the snow that was on him. Once that was done, Desond spoke to Silver, "please do not mess with the priestesses like the last time I brought you to a temple."
Silver simply hooted but had an understanding look in her eyes.
"Good, and here we go," He said to himself as he opened the door and entered the temple.
Quickly entering and closing the door so the snow and cold does not get in. After that, Desmond took a moment to look around but noticed when Silver flew off his shoulder and would fly around for a time before landing right next to who looked like a priestess and her guests. Desmond quickly moved his way to Silver, and she would fly up and land on his right shoulder when he was close. Desmond, in a sorry tone, spoke to the priestess. "I am sorry about my owl, and I hope I did not interrupt anything."

They were attacked by a Null ship and while they were able to jump. The ship's hyperdrive malfunctioned, and they ended up stopping near a black hole. But while they got close to the black hole's edge. Echo Squad's ship had to bypass safeties to push the engines hard enough to break free of the black hole.
After breaking free from the black hole and fixing their hyperdrive. Echo Squad returned to their home base on the world of New Jechico and expected good praise for a job well done. Overview
Hello and welcome to the rp. The year is 2545 and in this rp. You will be playing as members of Echo Squad of both the defunct Spectres and the United Earth and Colonies. Who, after breaking free of a black hole, now find themselves three hundred years in the future and are unsure of what to do. Along with not knowing what to do with the artifact that is in their possession.
So, for starters, the artifact will play a role in the plot, and its purpose will be revealed during the rp. Which the rp will be largely swap between surviving and doing missions and finding out what the artifact is, and, later, discovering the true cause of the Black Fleet's arrival. Being hunted by an unknown foe as they come to realize what the artifact is and how it can change human space. If dealt with correctly, that is.
Background info
The defunct United Earth and Colonies was founded in 2190 as the expansion of human territory, and the growing number of colonies required a reorganization of the government. Turning the United Nations of Earth into the United Earth and Colonies. From there, the UEAC expanded and developed unopposed until the arrival of the Black Fleet, while the UEAC navy tried to resist and fight the Black Fleet. Their fleets were destroyed time after time, and colonies were destroyed. By the time the Black Fleet vanished, the UEAC was gone, with only a small remnant of ships left.
The United Earth and Colonies was a federal republic that was led by a president named Jasper Till and had a legislative body made up of representatives from all of the human worlds called the United Assembly.
The Arrival, also known as the Devastation. The Arrival happened about three hundred years ago, after Echo Squad got stuck in the black hole. A black fleet of unknown origins arrived in human space and started laying waste to human worlds. The UEAC tried to defend their worlds and destroy the fleet. But instead, their fleets were wiped out one by one. The technology of the black fleet was beyond anything that humanity had seen, and they could do nothing as the black fleet attacked and burned worlds. Some worlds became uninhabitable and barren.
This lasted for some time before the Black Fleet disappeared as suddenly and mysteriously as they arrived. The UEAC were no more, but humanity had survived the Black Fleet's onslaught. The survivors of the Black Fleet would take time before they could recover, and three nations would be formed in the aftermath. Varan Commonwealth, the White Sun Republic, and the New Earth Empire. These nations would grow in size and soon compete for power and territory.
State of the Human Space
Currently, human space is split mainly between the three powers, the Varan Commonwealth, the White Sun Republic, and the New Earth Empire. While a number of independent worlds exist. Although officially at peace, there exists a Cold War between the three powers as each wants the others' territory and resources. Each seeking to find a way to gain an advantage over the other and break the stalemate. Out of the three powers, the United Earth Empire has the strongest military, the White Sun Republic is the most advanced, and the Varan Commonwealth is the largest nation. All nations have recovered to pre-Arrival levels, and all claim to be the true successor to the United Earth and Colonies government.
Nations
The Varan Commonwealth is the result of a personal union between two growing powers. The Alliance of Sera and the Ionian Union. As the two powers had good relations with each other, they realized that together they could stand a chance against possible threats. Named after the chosen capital of the new nation, Vara. The Varan Commonwealth, with the combined might of the two nations. They developed and expanded at an alarming rate, which both the New Earth Empire and the White Sun Republic took note of. Soon rivaling the two up-and-coming powers and showing expansionist tendencies.
Currently, the Varan Commonwealth is led by Prime Minister Juhi Deo and is the largest of the three powers.
The White Sun Republic was formed by some remnants of the UEAC navy and the colony of Fenrir. Named after the white sun of the system. The White Sun Republic later expanded, and as they did. They managed to recover technologically faster than the other two powers. Causing both powers to send agents to determine how, but all attempts have failed so far, and they have developed a few new technologies never seen before. Leveraging their technology in their bid for territory and power in the Cold War between the three powers.
Currently, the White Sun Republic is led by President Viktor Laake and is the most advanced nation of the three powers.
The New Earth Empire, while most of human space was ravaged by the Black Fleet. The Sol System was not attacked by the Black Fleet and stayed intact. Remnants of the UEAC government tried to reestablish themselves but were overthrown in a coup. Led by Admiral Guillermo Tasis. For him and his followers, he thought that what was left of the UEAC was too weak to rebuild the damage caused by the Black Fleet. A strong hand was needed to restore humanity and protect it from the next alien threat.
So he established the United Earth Empire with him as its first emperor and Earth as its capital. Becoming a militant and authoritarian empire. From there, the United Earth Empire slowly rebuilt and expanded outside of the Sol System. Encountering the other two powers and entering into a Cold War with them soon after.
Now, in the current day, the United Earth Empire is led by Empress Alessandra Tasis and has the strongest military of the three powers.
The Unaligned are the rest of the human worlds that have both survived the Arrival and have not joined any of the three powers. Choosing to stay independent and free from other human powers. Having varying degrees of recovery and development. The Unaligned mostly act as a neutral ground for the three powers and lay away from points of contention. Where merchants can sell their goods freely, and agents can act without triggering a conflict with a major power. The strongest of the Unaligned is the world of New Canaan.
The Shadow
The Shadow is an advanced stealth ship. Able to be hidden from all sensors but not from visual sight. It is the size of a small corvette. It hosts a small hangar which holds one small shuttle. A cockpit,
@Theyra Not too late at all! Arya and LC are the only two with solidified spots at the moment as they were directly invited. Feel free to fill out for a spot or if you'd like, go for an alternative role. Here are some alternatives to choose from, or we can work together to create a role closest to what you're already interested in.
Cargo Officer - Manages the ship’s supplies and cargo, ensuring everything needed for the mission is stocked and accounted for. Overseeing food, fuel, weapons, and other supplies; ensuring proper storage and distribution; keeping track of inventory and ship’s needs. (Also advisory to the Captain if any trades were to happen with other vessels)
Cybernetic Specialist - Responsible for maintaining and upgrading any cybernetic enhancements or augmentations on the crew. Assisting in medical procedures for cybernetic implants, upgrading or fixing cybernetic devices, ensuring systems are fully functional. (So while the engineer is the tech-savy for the ship, this role is tech-savy more for personal equipment. Works closest with Science Officer and Secruity Officer in maintaining quality of weaponry aboard)
Chef/Cook - Responsible for preparing meals and ensuring the crew’s nutritional needs are met during long space missions. Cooking meals, maintaining food supplies, preparing for exotic alien ingredients (This is really the 'for fun' role of the game, because who doesn't love a chef). Other responsibilities may include discovering different ways to grow crops within space (they would have their own garden) and finding edible food on other planets.
Okay, I will think about it, and right now, I may go for either the Cargo Officer or the Cybernetic Specialist.
