Lost World: The Lost Expedition

Lucas Byrne

"Uh," Lucas said simply as he put away his flashlight and looked up from his journal. "It seems like we just go forward and follow the corridor until we reach the gate room. Whatever the gate room means." So simple it was and yet Lucas felt like it was too simple. But that is what the notes say so simple it was. Though the mention of a gate room intrigued him, he stayed focused.

Lucas accepted a torch from Wade, and once the group was ready, he led them down the corridor and into the temple.

As Lucas led the group down the corridor, they were noticeably going down. The floor became a subtle ramp as they ventured deeper into the temple, and the air started to feel cooler with each step. The walls were lined with more symbols, but as they walked past. The symbols were becoming more and more animal-like, with some human-looking figures and some humanoid-looking ones.

After some time and who knows how deep, they reached a large chamber, the gate room. Besides with symbols covering the walls that the group has seen before. In the middle of the chamber was a large circular gate. Eight feet tall and eight feet wide and has large symbols that look more like letters or odd shapes on it. Four large columns with the same symbols centered around the portal at an equal distance and about a medium distance from the portal and each other. Which there was a podium made of stone with a stone stand some distance in front of the gate. Holders for torches were all around the room, and two on the podium, but none on the columns.

Lucas looked around the room while his lit torch illuminated the room. "So this is the gate room, I take it, and I cannot see any other corridors." His eyes focused on the gate, and it made him curious about where it led and if it worked. But seeing how there were no bones or signs of bodies in the room. Then maybe it does work, but that was just a thought for now.

After looking around the room, Lucas headed to the podium and seeing the empty torch holder. Lucas placed his torch in the holder and put his journal on the podium. Reading its contents under the torch light and went to figure out the next step. "What now?" He said to himself as he looked through the notes.

A P P E A R A N C E _________________________________________________________ Charon Charon stands at 9'5, on the smaller end when compared to his fellow brothers and sisters. His medium-length black hair covers the right side of his face. Which is the only side that can grow hair and has a brown eye. The left side of his face remains scarred after years of experiments on him, with a yellow eye. Giving him the look of a mutant, but Charon does not hide his face. Instead, he embraces it, and he carries himself like a man who is at peace with himself. His body shows the extent of the experiments done on him. Various surgical scars and miscolored skin. The left side of his body, like his face, looks like the body of a mutant. Which he refuses to hide when out of power armor and wears white robes that expose his arms and the scars on them. His muscular form on display and his strength betray his kind nature. C O N C E P T ________________________________________________________________________________________ Primarch Concept: — Charon serves as the unbreakable warrior of the imperium. Both physically and mentally, his time on Inriea made him into a man who can survive the worst and come back stronger. Eager to rid the galaxy of tyrants and of evil who prey and experiment on the weak. One who sees the weak not as expendable or a burden, but having the potential to rise above. A more compassionate primarch who still is a warrior who has a raging fire of rage in his heart to those like the one whom he used to call father. Abilities/Skills: Forsaken Knowledge- Thanks for his Primarch memory and for what he has tried to fix others and his own body. Charon is a brilliant expert at human biology, Primarch biology, and chemicals. Knowledge that at first, he loathed because of how he learned it. But he realized that he could use the knowledge to help others and restore what others had taken from them or soothe an illness. Knowledge that could be used for good where it was used for evil and cruel ways. Unnatural Fortitude - Perhaps due to something that his old father did to him, his unique Primarch body, or both. Charon is able to withstand both mental and physical pain or trauma longer than his fellow brothers and sisters. Able to keep moving even when it would cripple a primarch, or when his mind is being assaulted, and he still functions. Though his healing stays the same, he can still be overwhelmed. It just requires more than what would normally stop a Primarch. Legion Concept: — The legion that will be named the Iron Preservators, while skilled at war and violence. They seem to be made of more durable stock and like their primarch. Able to last longer in a fight or campaign both mentally and physically than normal space marines, and when united with their primarch. Show a softness towards mortals and try to protect imperial citizens during a campaign if needed. Not forgetting where they came from or what they used to be. Though some try to mimic their primarch's scars to get closer to him and this is a practice that is heavily discouraged by Charon. A primarch that hides in the shadows, stalking his prey until the time is right and he closes in either brutal close-quarters combat or a silent range attack. A role that he excels in and is a master at despite his size. Though he has strayed somewhat from this role as he grew up on Zarus and has developed a knack for technology and a love for the people he calls his own. Using his gifts to aid them from out of sight and gives him purpose. More so when he becomes apart of the Imperium and one world turns into a massive collection of humanity that is now his people. Legion Concept: — The legion that will be named the Shadow Hunters excels at close-quarters combat, asymmetric warfare, hit-and-run tactics and other means of subterfuge. Weakening the enemy by working in the shadows until the time is right, and then engaging in direct attacks to finish off the enemy. But unlike other legions, they still retain their bonds with their families and remember where they come from. Lost World: The Lost Expedition

@Flarbinia Just something I have thought about, and I should say now. But please limit what you add to a scene, like in your post that mentioned there being a skeleton of someone trying to find the temple or the Lost World. There should not be a skeleton there since few people know of the temple and the Lost World, and the ones actually trying to find it were in Coswall's expedition and now Lucas's expedition. Just so you know now, and just remember that for future posts.
