There was an old world, with its own people, its own architecture, culture, a life of its own. Then they came, and it died. Their crops razed, their life sunffed out. Their world swallowed.
We were those invaders. Or at least, who they used to be. Now, only dust is left, and that was ages ago. But those people aren't gone. Enslaved or captured, I don't know, but now they're like us, living in the world of dust that generations of greed and fear had built. Though their way was killed, they found a new way, living off land we long thought dead and barren. Now, as the new starts to falter under its own weight, the shadows of the old rise again.
The spirits of the old life are flowing again, granting their gift to the children of the new. Powers, knowledge. Brotherhoods. Now thrust into a world they don't understand, they struggle to find their place in a world that doesn't have a use for them- or trust them- with powers that, for some, only seem to cause pain. This is their story. Wrought from the dust.

Elegy of Dust

Your life is rustic, but it's all you've known. Roughly constructed plank buildings to guard against the harsh, salted wind, technology -from a place you've never even thought of seeing- which never quite worked, and an unforgiving landscape- but this was home. Simple, sure. Boring, oppressive? Maybe, but it was life, and you were used to it. Life was ordinary.
Until one day, by accident, or for seemingly no reason, you gain a power that is certainly beyond ordinary. Maybe you try to hide this power, or perhaps you use it for your own gain. There are some who would gather in groups, try to understand it, while the rest of the ordinary world shuns these new, strange happenings. What purpose could there be for these powers, and what is heralded by their coming?

So, I'm thinking of making an either Casual of Advanced rp, involving an Old Western Frontier style setting, where the technology level is a decayed high-tech/sci-fi, meaning that there was once a lot of technology available, but much of it has fallen into disrepair, and most of the infrastructure and construction materials are in the style of the American West in the ~1870's.
Anyway, the RP will take place in a desert colony, significantly separated from their original home, without much communication for several generations, due to the aforementioned technological disrepair. When the RP starts, younger individuals would start to gain super powers seemingly at random, however, there is a bit more to it than that. This, however, will be revealed as the RP goes on. The super powered individuals will then form various "brotherhoods" of individuals with similar powers, or similar outlooks on life, or what their powers mean. I should make note that these won't be super high-scale super powers, like, taking out a building would be a considerable feat, as opposed to a setting where superpowers could easily level a city block.
That's basically it. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, I welcome both questions and constructive remarks/suggestions.
@Double Thank.
Bump.
@Fish of Oblivion Okay, I fixed it. Hopefully it makes sense now. Let's say there isn't really an optimal ballistic angle that Rodendramon can achieve from his location.
