Current When it is time to write, I want to worldbuild. When it is time to worldbuild, I want to collab. When it is time to collab, I want to write. This is the cycle. These are the rules.

Do not kill the part of you that is cringe. Kill the part that cringes.

Sad to say I'm currently experiencing Writer's Block. Luckily I learned Writer's Kung Fu and I can chop the block in half with my hands like Bruce Lee

Why is the sun like bread? It rises in the yeast, and sets in the waist. Haha! Isn't that so cute? Join my RP or more puns will come.

What's the difference between a Hollywood actor and a piece of driftwood? One is Justin Timberlake. The other is timber, just in a lake. Hahathisiswhati'mdoinginsteadofwriting

Bio

Current RP I want you to join: roleplayerguild.com/topics/191461-car…

Hey y'all. I've been at this for about 12 years, and I've played a lot of kinds of RP. I like fantasy and sci-fi the most, just because they give me the most to worldbuild with, but I'm cool with almost anything. I just like writing.

It's more like just adding another layer to her perception check so to speak. She can read body language just fine without it, though when it doesn't work she can't double check and see if their emotions don't add up with what they're trying to show everyone. Also helps a lot if she can manage to read races with very subtle, or just plain contradictory, visual cues. Not all of her eggs are in the empathic basket.

Nice. Accepted. Glad we have an ambassador- we can't get along with aliens if we're ALL shoving guns in their faces

Don’t worry. Everyone will get their turn to be dissected, I I mean treated.

*quietly adds fear of Mason to Carabello's CS*

I think it's pretty much done now. Tell me what ya think.

An empath will be useful. I think I need a bit of clarification on one point, though. Can she "read" someone (by body language?) even when she's not telepathically sensing their emotions, or is all of her emotional perception because of telepathy?

Portable devices, communication up to the ship when needed, and such. Plenty of workarounds, yus yus. I'll probably make the Shipboard AI and a normal character, so in case they're separated from the ship I have a second character to play.

Gotchya.

This has my attention!

I'm putting a CS before the end of the day. I think you all need a science officer.

I was thinking the same. Gotta have at least one or two smarties on an exploratory ship
<Snipped quote by Jeyma>

Yeah, as a player character.

You know, I really hadn't considered it.

My main concern is that I plan on having us visiting various planets or other ships a lot. That might not leave a Ship AI with as much to do, since leaving the ship would he more difficult. You could be limited compared to the others.

But, we could probably think of work arounds. (Maybe a portable device that carries your program? Or an android body you can hope into?) If that's what you wanna do, go for it.
<Snipped quote by Jeyma>

In that case, how do you feel about ship AI?

As a player's character?
Where do we stand on Robots/AI as sapient crew members? From their own planet, like Stel from the Green Lantern Comics, or Pablo from the Adventures of the Starship Coconut...

I was hoping for one, actually. It wouldn't be proper sci-fi without a machine to remind us what frail meatbags we are.

To everyone:

Speaking of being a frail meatbag- I won't be able to start up our RP until the day after tomorrow at the earliest, by my clock. I'll let everyone make a few introductory posts, and then we'll jump straight into our first "adventure". Probably something with space pirates.

If anyone doesn't have their CS submitted by then, don't sweat it. We can always just let you post last, or add the character later. I'd rather a good character coming late than a rushed one on time.

I can see Gue'rach and Rizky maybe discussing different philosophies, such as how should you kill someone? Be devious and stab 'em in the back or be honest and stab 'em in the face?

Both, of course. Gotta be thorough.
@ShiningSector

Wow, that's a lot of worldbuilding, and it's giving me ideas. I think I'm gonna have to work some of the Auval'Kotor into our adventures.

Accepted, of course. Now we've got two "hunter" themed aliens on the ship. I wonder if Geu'rach and Rizky more respect eachother or more compete with eachother?

Not quite sure how far medical technology has come

That's totally up to you, as our resident demented doctor

Like I said, things are left open intentionally so everyone can participate in the worldbuilding. Like, for example, your character sheet just established for the first time that Christianity and the Bible Belt are still around.

So go with the medical technology however you want, as long as it doesn't make you ridiculously OP

Speaking of your C.S.: it's accepted. Go ahead and place our dear sadistic surgeon in the Characters tab.

@This Girlie

You're accepted too. I'm already smiling at how her superiority complex is going to clash with Carabello's laid back style
