He looked onto the sacrificial magic in horror. How could anyone expect to win when every death made them stronger? The sky began to turn red as blood as the pixalationa of all the goblins began to fly towards it, congealing into a cloud above the field and then raining down vibrant green drops. A single drop hit a player near River and he watched as his health bar dropped. "Its acid rain...the rain is harmful...how does one avoid it?" he mut6to himself, half in shock, half in thought. Willows voice broke the Trainers thoughts as he now focused on the task at hand, surviving. First up was Willow, his lightning fast movements whipping his wand at her casting a quickening spell as soon as hers wore off. Next was Prome, a simple healing spell should top off the squishy tinkerer just fine. Now recharge. These next few moments were crucial to cooldown management.

Quicken,Greater Heal,Heal,Heal,Recharge

The lightning spell keeping his movements fast and fluid, watching his speed increase with every cast. Anytime he became topped off again on mana, he would cast off a few lightning spells to deal mass damage and then return to his cycle of bluffs, heals and mana gain. One hand quickly opened up a menu and pulled up Cecilias name.
"Ceci, where are you? If you can avoid the rain and take down the shamans as soon as possible thatd be great. Stay safe and run here if you need to get healed! No heroics!"
His quickened self, energized by the mass amounts of electricity flowing through his body, made it easier to slip and dodge the pools of green that fell from above. He only hoped others failed juat as well.

Rivers body tugged harshly as Willow attempted to move him, however it appeared a Goblin had gotten to him first. Two forces fighting for control of the Trainers body. Finally a dark energy ripped River and the Goblin towards Willow. Grateful tears replaced those of anger and Sorrow he had previously shed towards Pepper. Soon her health bar was struck with a number of debuffs on her. River lashed out a healing spell onto Willow, his eyes burning with anger. These goblins would all pay. He quickly ramped his mana back to full and his wicked grin grew wider than ever. "Don't you EVER TOUCH PEPPER AGAIN!". He unleashed a storm of lightning and rage across all the goblins nearby. Dropping bodies faster than the stock during the great depression. Lighting danced across his fingertips and onto the enemies until finally he switched over to his whip and cracked it against the green flesh of his enemies. Pixals after pixals flew as River laid down a barrage fueled by his anger at these creatures. How could they do that to pepper? How dare they do that?! By the end of if River stood there panting as he glared at the goblins who slowly backed away from the berserk Trainer. "Anyone else have a death wish?"

Rage and worry filled River as he watch Peppers bar quickly diminish. The staff he once held was now swapped into a whip and wand, the lightning from earlier still coursing through his body, making every movement he did faster. River began to cast self buffs, quickening his speed before launching into a full sprint. Using the diversion Pepper had caused to RIP past enemies unnoticed. Those who dared to test the trainer were quickly met with a crackling whip and blast of electricity, only causing him to move faster and faster. With every hit, he healed, every hit fueled his anger and rage as blasts of electricity discharged from his body. He quickly swapped back into his staff to gain more range and unsummon Pepper from the field as tears fell down his cheeks, it wasnt supposed to be like this. He placed down his electric ward, any who dared to come near him would be fried. This was reckless, stupid, he needed to think. A goblin attempted to approach River and he had an idea. He bolted towards the goblim with a sheild, blasting surrounding enemies with lightning to help keep his speed higher and higher. A quick jump onto the sheild as he faked the goblin out, making him raise it, and River propelled himself into the air. He didnt have much ground to cover to reach the main force, so with a land he exploded into a lightning field, ridding himself of a few enemies before crying out to Willow for help.

Conflicting emotions began to well up inside of River. On one hand, these creatures have built a home, a society of sorts, much like those of Genesis. Who was to say that they were any less human than those who resided in the town outside this dungeon? On the other hand, these creatures were the only thing standing between every adventurer and their freedom outside of this game. He closed his eyes and steeled himself for the battle about to begin. It wasnt what he had come to expect, he wanted a singular creature that towered above them, making it easy to focus fire or focus heal. But what he got...this was a war.

It was clear that this game was nothing like what hed played before, Rivers eyes opened just in time, Goblin Wargs had pulled the tank lines away and left the DPS line open to attack, Willows healing lights must've attracted a few of the enemies as the began barreling down to her. "Clear the way! Now!" River summoned his staff as he directed Pepper to rush in between Willow and the Wargs. His staff began to glow with a real aura as he twirled it and then slammed the bottom into the ground. Pepper began to go on her haunches as her body began to expand at a rapid rate.

Immediately Pepper grew to the size of a full grown dragon. Expanding across the field, pushing players back and away, and more importantly, creating a wall between the wargs and Willow. Pepper snarled at the wargs who dared charge her and spewed out a fields worth's of poisonous gas. Dark fog began to coat the area, afflicting all the enemies within her breaths reach. She quickly grabbed one of the wargs around her, flew up into the sky, and ripped it in two, letting its locals fall in view of its comrades. "Pepper! Keep an eye out for Ceci and heal as needed! Go ham!" With a massive beat of her wings, wind began to blow atop all as she flee over the battle field, spewing more poison as she went, and taking her claws against any Archers or lone goblins. She circled around the Main force's area and let down a rain of healing onto them as she ket out a massive roar. Rivers staff began to crackle as the Trainer began to barrage enemies with lightning all around, and healing Pepper when needed.

As willow tossed over the talisman, River quickly put the staff away and caught the Ancient Mage's Talisman. His eyes beamed at the item as he pulled up the menu for its description.
Ancient Mage's Taliman: This talisman, when used, restores 100% of your mana and 20% health of your health. Can be used twice a day.

"Oh thanks! I'll have to remember to get one when we reach the next floor...provided I have the Renn. Was really hoping for a Renn or item drop from this mob to help with the destroyed items." River swing his feet off the edge of the ruin, looking around for any more runic markings or signs. "So, this is still a game right? That means the developers may of placed some clues hidden amongst the background. Some ancient language or code to be deciphered that may give us a hint on how to beat this game...or why it even happened to begin with." With a final strong swing of his legs, he hopped off and landed on his feet, Pepper flying up and gently landing on his head. His wand flicked out "Full Restore Monster Mana." A pale blue light began to dominate from Rivers body, coalescing into a brilliant blue orb that flew into Pepper. Her mana was fully restored and she let out a playful chirp. "I'll use this when we reach the boss room, just incase I spend any extra mana between here and there. Speaking of, whatre we thinking in terms of strategy? This isn't a fight we can just rush into." he said as he showed the talisman, placing it into his inventory.

"Not quite yet! Still waiting for the day the comso's decide I'm ready to be able to open Ripa in the fabric of time/space to teleport. Hry, may even open a rip into a top hat just so that I can pull a disappearing act." Max mused at Sunshine. So, it appeared the plan was to enter the sewers and attempt to lose the law enforcement down there, thatd mean theyd all need new clothes and most likely a shower as well for when they wish to rejoin society. Max slipped the comic into his messenger bag as they ran. Max shrugged off his coat, grabbing it quickly with his hand and then turning it around so that each hand grasped a sleeve, using them to grip the sides of the stairs and just letting himself drop down after dropping his cane first. The movements were extraordinarily swift and concise, almost like an art. As soon as his leather oxford shoes hit the floor, Max twirled his coat back around, having it placed onto his shoulders once more.

Oh my fish oh my gosh oh my gosh! That was the coolest thing I've ever done! Well, without my powers that is. Still! Ahhhhhh I did it! Ok Keep calm and cool. Max turned to Sunshine and gave her a bit of a smirk. He straightened out his shirt and wiped some invisible dust off of his pants. "So, where to Little Miss Sunshine? You know the sewers it seems, so I'll differ to your leadership." He picked up his cane and was more than glad he was wearing the gloves he made earlier, Max didnt quite expect to be spending the day in the sewers but still...it was fun.

River burst out in laughter as Cecilia asked the twins if they skipped out on their own team. Sure it was a reasonable enough question, but the twins were their own team. Rivers never known them to stick around for too long. Wiping an imaginary tear from his eye River began to approach Ceci "Kven and Sven in a team? I've never known them to do such a thing, well not permanently at least. They tend to be their own team and drift off when it pleases. Unless somethings changed" The last sentance was a bit of a playful jab towards the inseparable duo. River sat on the nearest ruin and let out a sigh as he examined his malabar and the state of the party. "I really wanted to get that writing down on the totem before we destroyed it" he fully reclined onto the ruin now as he glanced over at Willow, "Hey Willow, mind topping me off? We're gonna need all we can give for what's next. And hopefully...we'll find some ingredients or players willing to lend us a sheild and armor for the boss."

River let out a whistle, calling for Pepper and Ubi to him. As she flew over and landed onto his chest, River began to wonder about how they would tackle the boss and just how difficult the fight ahead may be. He sat up and let Pepper fall into his lap as he cradled her, he pulled out his staff again and looked at it for a moment. "I think I've got a decent opener for the boss ahead, hope you all like the surprise."

"Freeze! This is D.C. PD! If you resist, we will use lethal force!" Max watched as Sunhine slowly raised her hands. He began to try to think of a way out of this, hed been running from enforcers for a while now and he wasnt about to be caught today. Think. Think. Think. The cover of the comic was now facing him as his hands were up and a brilliant idea ran through his head. Perfect, this cummerbund should do the trick Max focused on the mass of officers and decided where the best place to wrap them would be "Aus Atnemitsev Ogniffe!" Once again the cosmic dust flew out of the page and towards his enemies, this time with much needed speed and precision. It began to wrap itself around the officers elbows and midtorsos, bundling them together into a tight knit group reminiscent of a three legged race...but higher.

He was lucky, no shots were fired, no person hurt, and they were now helpless as fat as he could see. "Run." Max turned on his heels and bolted away, hoping the two followed after him. When some distance cleared and he saw them along he turned his head and asked "Where to now? We cant keep running forever and we need a place to hide." Max attempted to match pace with Sunshine and James, making sure to neither fall behind nor get to far ahead. They were a team of misfits now, whether he, or they, wanted it. But Max couldnt help but think to himself At least this time I'm not alone
