Demetri stopped his tracks for a brief moment as he felt Zeke squeeze his hand. A brief flicker of appreciation fluttered through his heart before becoming consumed within darkness. He'd promised to come find him, but regardless of how genuine the words were, they fell on deaf ears. Demi didn't need Eidolons to whisper darker thoughts into his head. He didn't need the soldiers of Gaea to turn him against himself. He did it fine all on his own. Nancy's words stung more than she could possibly know. Each one digging further into what Demetri already knew, no one truly cared about him. No one wanted him around. Zeke was most likely only putting up with him as a ploy to pull Janelle's attention.

Tears began to swell in his eyes as he continued moving away. Demi tried holding them back, trying not to make a scene, when he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder. He spun around and saw Madalyne. Demetri pulled back just enough so that her hand would fall off, her question broke him. "No. was all he managed to choke out before he began to sob. But Mady didn't need to see this, she didn't need to be burdened by him anymore than Zeke and Nancy needed it. I'll come find you. Fine. If that were true, Demetri would have to see. He quickly shifted into a small bird and took flight. Darting up into the sky and past the fields, soaring over the trees that made up the capture the flag forest and made his way down into his and Zeke's secret spot.

Demetri careened down, shifting at the last second as he just let himself fall two feet from the ground. Here he was safe. Here no one could bother him. Here he couldn't bother anyone. He crawled over to the nearest tree trunk, huddling up against it as he tried to stifle his tears. His breaths were shaky, shallow, and irregular as his tears turned into sobs. He tried to reign it in, to bottle it up inside and act like everything was fine. But for the first time in a long while he felt utterly alone. His flaw kept creeping up on him, making him think things that weren't even true. He's not going to find you. He won't even try. Why would he? You're of no real use to him yet. He doesn't even care enough to remember how to get here. Demi tried to push back the thoughts, but the more he fought the more they came.

Cassian chuckled at her joke. He hadn't thought of it that way, especially being that she was in a relationship with Kira. But nevertheless it had been said and now she had it over him to tease him. "Not at all what I meant. Just. Like to stay a bit private about certain parts of my life. I'm sure you could understand." He wasn't even sure she could understand. She seemed so bubbly and outgoing, even if her sparky remarks set a good barrier between her and others. But even still, she didn't seem guarded, nor was he certain she had a family legacy that could spoil her reputation. He watched as she rolled her eyes at him and he couldn't help but wonder exactly what had annoyed her, that is until she spoke.

No one liked someone who whined. And while he certainly just had, he couldn't help but feel jealous. His father was Dionysus. A demi-god who rose to God hood from his deeds and quests. How was Cassian to live up to such an experience when all he did so far was work at camp and help the nature spirits with their magic. Leda went ahead and called his powers cheats again, though he sensed no malice in her words. She had no other way to describe them, being that he hadn't revealed anything. "Don't worry, I'll make sure my skills and cheats are polished for when my number does come. Hopefully we can end this all soon…I finally get to be at my fathers camp and he has to go off and deal with the gods. I thought I'd finally get to meet him. Till then, all I can do is try to make him proud." Whatever the issues where, he hoped his great grandmother wasn't involved.

It was a strange sensation having his father pat his head like that. On one hand it was comforting, something he'd looked forward to since he could recall. Not just any form of affection, but one from his actual father. On the other hand however, he was someone he'd just met. They hardly knew each other and yet there was still a connection. Maddie didn't know how to feel about all of it. He bit his lower lip, thinking, listening to what his father had to say. Don't act nervous How could he not? That was his default, anxiety was a common friend of his as normalcy left him behind. "Right." He didn't sound convinced. Fortunately for him, Jasmine came in with all the appropriate papers, he took his and looked them over though he wasn't quite certain what he was looking for.

When Maddie had heard that they were all royals, well the bright outfit suddenly seemed to fit right in. A bit of weight left his shoulders though not much. After all, they were all part of the same family now, which meant that unless they were all from the far off land of Alabama,Maddie and Colby should refrain from any usual shows of affection. He made his way over towards Colby as he continued to look at the foreign piece of paper. "So…bro, how's about you do all the talking. Otherwise we're likely to get caught." He hated that whole sentence. From the unfortunate use of the word bro, to having to admit his failing outlook. "Well, a signal should be something we can't accidently do, but is easy enough to see. We could have a phrase? Like Hey family, how long has it been since we've danced the mamushka? Or I don't know, could just do a peace sign. That can't be common

✧ Location: Soft Haven North of the Cemetery ✧ Purse: 20 copper ✧ Interactions: ✧

Night was beginning to fall fast as Ermes began to approach Soft Haven. He took measure of how much coin he had left and had decided he didn't have enough to spend on a night at the local inn. From the information he'd gathered, there was a Cemetery to the east of the town, just outside its walls where hopefully none would disturb him. As he began to approach the entrance, the winds shifted slightly as the scent of herbal smoke wafted in the air. Ermes paused, wondering if perhaps there were people out at night offering their prayers, or had they just left, leaving him alone to the safety of the night and the company of the dead. He began to approach slowly, seeing a luminous glow coming from inside the Cemetery. Voices drifted along the air as Ermes realized that something was within the walls of the graveyard. His instincts kicked in, hunching low as he silenced his steps to see if it was potentially the spirits of the dead or just those visiting them.

When he finally saw the pair, he rolled his eyes and began to make his walk back outside. The grounds were already taken by others, leaving only the expanse of the forest nearby as his place to rest. He didn't dare walk much farther, his legs already tired from the journey here, his stomach growling and begging for him to grab something to eat. Ermes looked around the forest, deciding he didn't have the energy to capture, drain, and cook something. So instead he did the only logical thing he could do. He found the tree with a wide enough trunk, leaned up against it, and spent all of his Aether into creating a tent made of bones and sinew. As the last of his magic flowed out of him, he passed out from aetheric exhaustion, guaranteeing a good night's sleep.

As twilight hit, Ermes broke out in a panic. The makeshift tent had long since dissipated, leaving him out in the open. The forest was still, the sounds drowned out by the loud drumming in his ears, and the sharp shallow breaths that he took. He only dared to look out through his periphery, afraid of what he might find in the dark of this forest. Fear clung in the air and suddenly, it was gone. It stayed with Ermes, like a cold that soaked your bones, slowly draining out of him until once again exhaustion took its hold and he passed out once more. Morning came as light flickered through the canopy of the trees. A stray light managed to get past the shadowy mess that was his hair as it hit his eye. Ermes groaned in his sleep, slowly getting up as he began to stretch from the hardness of the floor.

It was in this morning light that Ermes had finally noticed the claw marks that raked the ground around him. They made their way from the base of the tree all around him until it hit the other side. His chest felt as if it was in a vice grip as he slowly stood up from his spot and gathered his things. It was too early to be wasting his magic, but Ermes feared what might happen if he stepped over the circle. He took one long shaky breath before decidedly crossing over. Whatever it was that had seen fit to find him in the night had left him alone. There was solace in that he had decided. Unfortunately for him, Ermes had no idea where the bountyhouse was. He had no intention of searching for it aimlessly and so he made his way over towards the guards outside the gates.

As he approached the northern gate, Ermes spotted two guards standing by the entrance. Another two were inspecting a carriage, clearly focused on their work as the others stood by and watched. He took note of where they seemed to check, marking it off as potentially useful information for later while scanning the Northgates exterior. A large wooden gate was the main line of defense, followed by an iron one that seemed to hang above. Escaping it would take a bit of finesse, but it was potentially doable if ever needed. As Ermes clung to the shadows of the trees, he made his way towards one of the guards, asking them where he could find the bountyhouse. They gave him a rather skeptical look, after jumping ever so slightly from his sudden appearance, before finally answering his questions and pointing him in the right direction. He thanked the guard, his voice still sleepy, before making his way over towards his mark.

None of this sat right with Max. But Veil's question hit him like an arrow to the heart. Can we ask anyone to test this out? The question ran through his mind over and over again, each time leading him down an empty hallway with a pitch void at the end. Max felt as if he could stand in that eerie place forever, debating the morality of it all within his mind's eye while the world passed him by. As usual though, Ben would have his piece. Ever the hero he was, volunteering to be the test subject of the ritual. A hot tear ran down Max's cheek as the Spirit Box had cut out and returned back into static. He couldn't meet either of them in the eyes, shame filling him as he listened to Veil speak. She'd stumbled upon the same idea Max already had in mind, noticing one key difference. She left someone out.

In Max's original theory he had wanted to implement four people. James as their primary healer to help restore the body, Casper as their resident soul practitioner to help transfer the soul, Max to help facilitate the ritual itself and add aid where it was needed, and finally Callie to add a spark of life to whomever they choose to bring back. As he listened to Veil's plan, and thought more on it, he figured she wasn't too far off. The number three appeared in most religious contexts as a 'holy' number. There was the trinity of Christianity, the triple goddess of magic, even in the PJO books did they harp on the number three. By removing Callie from the equation there was a chance that Veil had stumbled onto something incredibly important.

Max stood and stretched for a moment. "You two have given me a lot to think about, I'll make sure to try and get as much as I can from Pixie. If you find the location of Ben's body, I can take us there to retrieve it. Xavier can't be the only one beating fate after all." Max turned the Spirit box off before waving his hand and having a portal reappear back at the Green Lagoon. "Sorry Ben, can't have that thing running all day. But I'll be sure to keep in touch if you wanna stick around with me for a moment longer."

Harry chuckled at Legion's joke. He wasn't wrong however, the five of him would be nothing compared to the literal Legion behind David's eyes. Still, Harry didn't care about all that. If he had to impress and relive each day with a new aspect of the man before him, he would. To an extent Harry could understand where Legion was coming from, sure he never lost days or missed swaths of his life, or at the very least he hadn't since he got clean, but he did talk to his reflections much the same as one would another person. Each one Harry had always viewed as a separate entity of himself. Life, much like light, was a massive spectrum. And every one of his clones was just another wavelength of Harry's self that was able to exist when they parted.

Harry had closed his eyes, blinking only for a moment before opening them up again and being surrounded by what felt like a new world. Legion looked much the same, but Harry felt different. When he looked down upon himself he appeared much like what he'd envisioned when he was younger, back at Xavier's School for Gifted Children. He'd seen a lot of Ben10 growing up, and loved the way that his sister appeared in her form of light. So much so that when his powers developed he believed he could become like her eventually. A part of that survived with Harry, helped him visualize his powers when using them. His skin glowed a deep purple, shimmering with the colors of the rainbow every fifth heartbeat. It was how he could tell each clone apart, each one was a separate color from the spectrum of light that he called upon. Harry's was always yellow, though when they all combined it made the missing sixth color, one that technically doesn't exist, purple.

Harry examined himself for only a second, cutting back towards David as he asked him a question. "This…is amazing. What is this place?" His eyes were wide like a child who'd just seen an incredible act. A moment passed before he realized he'd never answered his question. A smile formed on his lips as he nodded his head yes. "Of course you can. Though I appreciate you asking."

Demetri knew that Zeke was right. He should be making travel supplies for all of the campers going on a quest, not just Andy and Arthur. There was a pang of guilt hanging in his chest from the comment. He wanted to say something, to apologize for being selfish when suddenly Madalyne came into the room. It was hard to forget the name of a woman who's cursed by your father. The guilt grew deeper, and so did his wanting to apologize. She whispered something into Zeke's ear, immediately making Demi a third unwanted wheel in the room. Sure he and Zeke were going out now, but it wasn't even fully official. At least not until he spoke to Janelle. Demetri took a step back, giving them some space. Instantly he felt as he did back in school, as if his existence alone was wasting space.

Whatever it was that she had said to him had clearly set Zeke off. Demi jolted back slightly, bumping into a nearby table with a soft clatter. He began to wish he could disappear, wanting nothing more than to leave the room. He didn't want to interfere with what was happening, yet at the same time he wanted to make sure Zeke was ok. The pair went back and forth for a moment, all the while as Demetri stood there as silent as can be. When it all finally finished Zeke had all but stormed out of the room. His question sounded more like a demand than anything, though Demi would gladly follow behind. He gave Madalyne an apologetic wave goodbye as he shuffled along behind Zeke. He found himself five paces behind the son of Apollo, constantly wanting to say something but the words kept getting caught in his throat.

By the time they'd reached the beach it was already too late. Zeke was still in a foul mood, and from the looks of Nancy, she wasn't fairing much better. A part of Demetri wondered if she'd yell again, like she did the night before by the fire. Demi hung back, afraid to get too close to this until he heard her say the prophecy. Though, it sounded more like a warning of death than anything. The way she said with him sent another jab in Demis chest. But just like with Zeke, before he could have any time to react she turned around and began to leave. His eyes began to get misty, his vision starting to blur as he took a deep breath. "No. Fuck that. Both of you are acting like children."

Demetri tried to steal his nerves, marching forth towards Zeke before taking his hand in his and trying to lead him towards Nancy. He didn't know which of the two he found more frightening, but he had to do something. "If you wanted to speak to him alone that's fine. But you don't get to leave some cryptic ass message and storm off. Now the two of you talk, I'll be off alone. I'm used to it by now anyways." Demetri could tell when he wasn't wanted, and back at school that was all the time. So why should now be any different? He felt the familiar knots forming in his throat, the pain in his chest as he breathing got shallow, he hated conflict, hated that he was stark in the center of it right now, and hated to the idea that Zeke might die because of him and that his very existence in this moment was hindering any actual conversation to help him out of it.

Demetri had no idea what this hotel was, or why they would go there, or even how they would die because of it. It didn't sound all that impressive, but there was clearly more to the story. "Sorry for…sorry for being in the way. I don't care what happens to me just, make sure Zeke knows how to get out of it alright." Demis' hand began to go slack in Zeke's, slowly letting go as he began to walk away from the pair so that they could have their chat. He had no idea what he'd do in the meantime other than try and push down his feelings.

Cassian followed Ledas' eyes as they widened as if to wonder how he'd managed his trick. He stifled a laugh as she called it cheating, she wasn't wrong, but he liked to think of it as more of an Ace in his sleeve. The corner of his mouth curved into a cocky smirk as she called it impressive, though he was glad she didn't notice the amount of concentration it took to pull it off. He gave her a warm chuckle as he grabbed his bow and slung it over his shoulder. "Well you're not wrong. My dad didn't give me this gift, that would be my mother. As to how I did it." His voice trailed off.

Cassian glanced around at all the campers that were staring at them. "It's kinda a secret I don't like to talk about. Maybe if we're ever alone I might share it." He pulled on the collar of his shirt as he began to feel a bit hot, both from the spar as well as the subject. He didn't want others to know his legacy, it was bad enough he was the camp director's son, and gifted with the power of madness instead of vines, but to throw in the legacy of his grandmother? He'd never make a friend in edgewise. "Fastest kid huh? Glad I picked you to spar with then. Gotta be ready for anything, even those with immense speed. That is…if I'm ever picked for a mission. "

There was a brief time between trying on his outfit, and seeing himself in it beside coming out to the others, that Maddie had almost forgotten why they were doing it all. The colors were so vibrant and beautiful, the hand embroidered designs, the trims and little details that you just didn't see put in places like Kansas, he couldn't help but be enraptured by it all. He began to wonder and fantasize about what life might be like in this land. What it would be like to hop from story to story, get engrossed in their culture, only to hop back out in time for tea before a new adventure unfurled. Maddie smiled for a moment as his fingers traced the golden trims before finally stepping out from behind.

Colby and Willow had already changed into their attire, and it had appeared Maddie missed the assignment. They both wore neutral colored clothing that leaned more on the darker side of things whereas he had chosen a more vibrant and exotic looking piece. He began to feel a jit self conscious about his choice, glancing over at the other clothes on the table as he walked out and made his way towards Colby and Willow. Colby's words were like an expert marionette getting ready to do his work. A single twitch of the string causing a small involuntary smile to twinge onto the corner of his mouth. Maddie's cheeks flushed with embarrassment on two fronts now as he looked at the pair. "T-thanks. Maybe…I-I don't know, maybe I-I should change. I-I didn't think about stealth I just wanted to…"

Max thought about Veil's question for a moment as he waited to see if his plan would work, or if he'd only managed to make more of a fool of himself. "Um. Yeah it's published" By Disney Hyperion publishing but she doesn't need to know that He thought to himself after answering her question. Suddenly the rapid screeching of the spirit box had stopped and a sentence flowed through. There was a bit more sass than Max had anticipated, but then again it was hard to know what to anticipate when Casper was the typical go between for translation. He looked down at the meal of burgers and Nuggets and began to wonder how that was formal, or did he mean the little speech he made just beforehand? The box still wasn't working fully, but it was more than what they had been getting.

Veil's comment caught Max by surprise, as he was certain that his little antics caught all three of them by surprise. There was a twinge of happiness coursing through him at the moment. Both due to the fact that something he'd read in the Percy Jackson series had actually come to work, and also in the fact that he was successfully finding ways to use his magic in supplemental manners. He didn't have to bother Strange or reading a book in Sanskrit or halfway between Latin and Greek, to find his own solution to a problem. Max tried not to make eye contact with Callie as she called him out on his source of 'knowledge'. Of course all of that went out the window as soon as Ben spoke again. As everyone was now all in agreement, Sinister wasn't to be trusted.

"So, we can't trust Sinister, and I can't know for certain how far right I am with my planning. I can talk to Pixie, see if she has any more knowledge that I may be overlooking or just outright don't know. After that I'd need a willing soul. Not everything translates perfectly into the world but in some books (primarily his d&d books) if the soul isn't willing to return then any attempt to bring a person back will fail. Ben, don't bother volunteering. I won't have it. Casper wouldn't let me hear the end of it if something went wrong and we lost you forever. And I wouldn't let myself live it down either. As much as I hate to say it, aside from gathering a bit more information all that's really left to do is enter a test phase and see what doesn't and doesn't stick." A part of him wanted to reach out to Strange and ask him how much of alchemy was real? Did Quintessence actually exist? Or was it truly a crock of a science? After all, supposedly Chakras were a sham and they turned out to be real.

Tension left Harry's shoulders that he hadn't realized he'd been holding. The news that David hadn't lost a week was amazing, because then he wouldn't have to wonder who he was with three days prior or if he would even remember. All that tension came rushing back as he was asked to talk in private. His back straightened as he felt a chill run up his spine while Sunshine surprisingly agreed to David's demands. He wanted to say that anything he needed help with he could ask in front of the others, but Harry also understood that wanting to keep certain aspects private was natural for some matters. Especially when it came to someone who had just believed to have lost a week of time.

First Harry's shoulders lowered, the chills leaving him as soon as David began to speak again. Then his cheeks flushed as his heart felt like a pad of butter on a warm stove top. It'd been a while since he'd been asked out, and this was certainly one way to ask someone out. Harry scooted closer to David, placing his hand onto David's with a warm smile. "Well? I wasn't looking for a boyfriend. But now that you mention it I have a spot reserved just for you. That is if you can handle all five of me" Harry replied jokingly. "I'd be honored to go out with you"

Demetri turned to look over his shoulder at the new voice in the room. He recognized the features of the kid, having a mischievous look to his eyes as most Hermes kids do. When he'd admitted it was Juan who'd pulled a prank on the infirmary kids, well it made even more sense. What's more Demi felt a bit bad for having thought it was simply the disorganized chaos of another camper that'd fiddled with the clear order of things. "Of course it was Juan." Demi said with a bit of a chuckle as he turned around to fully face the camper while leaning against the wall. "I'm all for pranks and having fun, I've pulled a few myself, but tell Juan and the other Hermes kids the infirmary stock is off limits. If there's ever an emergency they need to be able to grab what they need quickly. Can't be wasting time sorting through all this and we can't rely on ambrosia and nectar alone. You know it's not good for us." Demi said as he used the clipboard to gesture towards the camper.

Demi let out a small sigh as he shrugged his shoulders and turned back around to gather a few more things. It wasn't Hermes cabins fault for this, just Juans, but someone needed to understand the dangers of pranking an infirmary. Just as he was about to finish up he heard Zeke's voice from the entrance of the room. Honey. Without so much as skipping a beat Demetri replied in kind, unaware of what he'd just done. "Yeah babe?" Time seemed to stretch on for infinity, the seconds lasting for eons as he realized what he'd said in front of a Hermes camper.

Demetri decided to just press forward and act as if nothing had happened. "Oh, uh I actually have crushed ginger right here. Was gonna snag a bit and package it for Andy and Arthur along with a few other ingredients. Limit the need for ambrosia or nectar and try and help with what may come their way in what ways I can you know?" Demi handed the container over to Zeke, before giving the Hermes camper a bit of a smile that clearly held a threat behind it. One that read if you so much as whisper a word of what was just said to anyone I will make sure you're on dish duty for two weeks with the harpies

Cassian cracked a smile at Ledas compliment. It was one thing to believe in his skills, it was a whole other to have someone else recognize them. "Hey Tha-" Before he could even finish the word he felt a dulled pain coming from his bow arm. Another shot up in his abdomen and a third at his shoulder. A blur of rainbow light dashed about the area faster than he was able to keep track of as it then swirled around him before releasing him only to leave behind a rope that bound him. His arrows laid at his feet as he stood there bound while Leda snagged his bow and went back towards where she had originally stood. Ah! ThAaaAnks." Cassian smarted as he watched her stand there.

Cassian wasn't about to admit defeat just yet. He needed to know he couldn't be easily outdone if he was out on a quest. Monsters could have some outstanding agility, and he wanted to ensure he could counteract it to some degree. "Love bows. Great at giving cover to your allies when they need to move in close." he said as he tried to keep her attention on him. His eyes flickered for a moment, like a spark trying to ignite, before their jade coloration turned into a golden hue. The knot became undone and Cassian shrugged his shoulders to help it fully fall apart and wrap down beneath his feet. "Though I'm glad my mother trained me to be-" Cassian cut himself off as he dashed towards Leda, closing the gap as a short sword was now held between them in a stalemate. "Versatile. Can't stay ranged forever."

He held the sword there for a moment before lowering his arm and twirling the blade with his wrist. He didn't like using his mother's gift too often, and the fact that Leda had forced his hand to, made him respect her skill greatly. "You're really good. And that speed?" Cassian whistled approvingly. "Your teammates are lucky to have you watching their backs. They're in safe hands."
