Hey @everyone

White Wolf Returns: A Homecoming for World of Darkness

For over three decades, White Wolf has stood at the bleeding edge of supernatural and horror storytelling. From Vampire: The Masquerade to Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Mage: The Ascension, our games helped shape generations of roleplayers, writers, and dreamers who sought meaning in the shadows.

Today, we are proud to announce that World of Darkness will once again be guided under the name that birthed it: White Wolf.

This isn’t just a name change. It’s a return to our roots—and a commitment to the future. A future where mature horror stories are told with care. Where community and collaboration are central. Where fans, creators, and licensees can find clarity, support, and inspiration under a banner they trust.

Simultaneously, we are announcing today that White Wolf will now be a publisher, as well as a licensor, of World of Darkness games. This means that we will continue to work with our network of licensing partners who bring you all the great video games, tabletop roleplaying games, card games, and more -- but we will also develop some new games internally, and publish them.

The first game that we will publish as White Wolf is Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 as co-publisher with Paradox Interactive. We will announce additional games from White Wolf as the publisher later this year.

As White Wolf, we will:
• Reinforce our legacy as pioneers of narrative-driven horror and emotional roleplay across all our products.
• Provide clear leadership across all World of Darkness media and products.
• Support creators with improved tools, transparency, and canon guidance.
• Maintain rigorous standards for inclusivity, sensitivity, and collaboration in storytelling.

The night belongs to us all.
Welcome home, Vamily.

Personality: A quiet and reserved man, is what most people describe Scott as. He is a man of few words and speaks when he is required to speak, silence is golden the saying goes. It’s mostly attributed to his parents, they were in and out of his life frequently due to their commitment to the United States Marine Corps. Scott learned discipline from his father when a lesson offered itself to be taught then his father would take it upon himself to do so. Physically or verbally, Scott found himself in less trouble when he spoke and that’s why conversation comes so hard to the medic.

Methodical in nature, Scott makes sure everything is done to code and in an orderly and professional fashion. Being a neat freak has it's toll, shining your boots every day is a daunting task to some but for Scott, it encourages him to improve his appearance. Looking his best, and looking better than everyone else always stroked his ego. He’ll always pride himself as the smartest or the hardest working. Scott always makes himself known for his achievements, verbally or written. This has gotten him in trouble in the past.

When betrayed, Scott always makes sure to remember who wronged him. He holds a lot of grudges and makes sure to sabotage those who would try to impede or wrong him. Those who stand against him will be sure to feel his fire in some shape or form, he will take down traitors with him if need be. Outside of these tendencies, Scott usually finds himself better in the company of loneliness than a person. Self-reflection, time to think and silence have done well for the man so far.

Strengths:
His worth and dedication to the job continue to thrive his will to get out of bed in the morning, he finds his job. He’s good in his profession, being medical personnel on a research ship rather than a combat zone definitely is a change of pace but he’s good at what he does and he’s there for that reason. His will to get through to the day is his main stem of energy, doing rather mundane uninteresting things can numb the brain but the thought of free time is a real motivator for Scott. For the most part, Scott has worked alone on the ship while in the past he’s worked in a team. He’s found working solo has been more beneficial for him in the stress department, he never usually got along with his partners.

Weaknesses:
People.

Working with others can be strenuous when there are disagreements it could get unhealthy for the work environment. Scott always holds grudges when he is wronged and until the other party amends their wrongs he’ll always find a way to get back at them and will be irritable until he’s sated his retribution against said person. He has a god complex and thinks his way is the best way, that he’s the best. His ego once again manifests in his writing but he’ll never verbally draw such attention to himself.

Likes:
Occasionally liquor, it helps him take the edge off reality.
Reading, it helps one become more knowledgeable and well versed in a variety of subjects.
His work, it’s his passion after all and what he takes pride in.
Looking good, whether its always being clean and well shaven or having a good appearance Scott likes to show his best visually.
Individual work, being independent and doing his own thing has already.
Music, no one could live without it and Scott has a varied taste.
Order and regulation, he doesn't cut corners and appreciates when the protocol is followed.
A conversation between intellects, getting a dialogue going and picking people’s brains are always fun and thought inducing.

Dislikes:
Backstabbers, people who aren’t honest with him. The people who get him in trouble, for all Scott cares they can rot.
Group work/Teamwork, he has had bad experiences with groups and working with others makes him uneasy.
Security, he thinks they are unnecessary.
Idiots, they are a waste of time.
Canadians, his worst enemy. Maple Leafs weren’t made to be seaworthy.

Fears:
Death, plain and simple.
Being fired, this is all he has.
The sea, he can swim but he’s scared of the fauna below. Sharks!
Being a failure and failing, he wants to see himself succeed.
Being targeted or hazed by the crew, he doesn't want to be the kicking bag. He resents it.

B I O G R A P H Y

Born a military brat, Scott Halinder was just a child in Seattle, WA when his mother and father went off to the middle east on deployment. He lived with his Aunt, Marsee Halinder for most of his life and when his parents were back it was turbulent. His dad was mad at the world, suffering from something terrible. He saw what no man should see on his tours, but it was all part of the war. Watching your friends die was probably the hardest the old man went through and that’s why he was sent back. Discharged, he was pissed as anyone would be but he had to take care of his son.

That’s where he failed, while Scott’s mother - Joan, continued to fight the good fight for the United States Army Scott had his own fight at home. His father - would constantly beat him and abuse him. Maybe it was a way for him to cope, or he finally lost his mind but this went on for years. It was inhumane to treat your own flesh and blood with such cruelty, the saying of ā€œmind your own businessā€ is universally understood by most. Yet, the neighbors couldn't be bystanders any longer when they realized the extent of the abuse. Cuts covered his face, black eyes bulged with swelling and fresh cigarette burns were on his arms when Scott approached Mr & Mrs. Richardson’s doorstep. It was swift, the sirens, the police. Mike J. Halinder was in handcuffs and arrested for his abuse and Scott was admitted to a hospital and when he was well enough he was sent to his aunts.

Finally, the system seemed to play in favor for good, for once at least. His father was swept away by the courts, he’d never see his child again for as long as child protective services could help it. Joan was heartbroken at the news, but she was unable to return until her contract was up with the army. Scott was put through therapy, which helped to some degree but the damage done could never be reversed with shrinks and medicine.

In high school, Scott was an outcast in his high school. Fitting in had been hard after the abuse he faced social elements of his life were almost nil. He found his place in the hierarchy of high school in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) in the school’s U.S. Navy unit. Throughout his four years in the program, he specialized in becoming a corpsman, upon graduating he saw himself applying to become a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy. After pushing himself through training, Scott was constantly on the move as he was on the U.S.S. Ohio which was stationed in Korea. He never saw combat as a Navy corpsman, but after his contract was up he re-enlisted and took specialty training to become a Marine Force Fleet corpsmen for the U.S. Marines.

This is when he was deployed to the middle east for a peacekeeping operation. During his deployment Scott would see combat, while the young soldier wasn't mainly geared for it he saw some success. His merit derived directly from his life saving first aid, a few ribbons and a promotion came his way for his actions during his deployment. His last re-enlistment landed him at a base in Germany, Scott occasionally volunteered for U.N. peacekeeping missions in Africa where his skills were tested daily on wounded civilians and military personnel. Years later, Scott would walk away from the marines but not before his CO Lieutenant Zach Nato could convince him to head somewhere else.

He was done with the military, becoming a doctor and starting his own practice seemed lucrative and feasible for the bucking young medic. Nato, who always knew his intentions perhaps from Scott’s boastful nature or how he seemed to carry himself with an air of authority approached the ex-corpsman. There was an expedition into Mariana’s Trench for the United Nations, the job seemed rather mundane but Nato promised of the recognition he’d get for being apart of the expedition and that’s what sold him. After this job, he’d head off to medical school with the pay from the job and achieve something greater than just being a military medic. That is if he made it back of course.

Tarot Card / A Quick Consensus

The Slough of Despond is a good name for the Six of Swords. Sometimes this card represents a dull, listless state. Nothing is seriously wrong, but nothing is really right either. Scott is getting by, but not thriving. In the picture the figures in the boat seem sad and disengaged. Life is indeed uninteresting when we feel the blues.

In a more positive vein, the Six of Swords can indicate recovery. This is especially true when you have just experienced a tough time or psychological blow. During the crisis, he felt numb and disconnected; nothing mattered at all. Now he's beginning to heal and pick up the pieces of his life. The travelers in our boat are at least moving forward. They are headed toward a new place, even if they are not yet ready to eagerly embrace those shores.

In fact, the Six of Swords can indicate travel and moves of all kinds. This could mean an actual change of scene, relocation or trip, but not necessarily. A journey can also take place on the inner planes as we move from one frame of mind to another.
