There were many things that the woman regretted in her life. Most bared little assurance to their outcome. What if she'd gone out with Peter when he'd asked? What if she hadn't persued her carrier so much. Potentially life changing events that could have altered the course of history. Thus far though none of them quite compared to coming in contact with a cursed doll. Unceremoniously dropped into a world she knew nothing about and forced to rely on complete strangers. Thus far she'd been lucky. There was still a whole lot she didn't know or was even close to understanding.
Skipping more to the present, Melisa had been riding on the tiger that she'd been left with. Content to sit and wait she petted the the soft fur for a while. Things turned rather quickly when all at once the tiger broke into a run. Tumbling for a second the girl managed to grab ahold and hang on for dear life. "Whoa, slow down there um...". The name of the tiger suddenly escaped her and they rushed through the Sanctuary. That would have been weird enough but then the big cat got even bigger and had weird spikes coming out of its back. These made holding on harder, but her magic allowed several tendrils of metal to wrap around and keep her fixed.
What all happened was kind of a blur. Stopped briefly to get someone else to follow. They came to Penny, some fight seeming to about to happen. Nuncio showed up and then... the other people left. Huh. Well maybe... Nope! "What is going oooooon!" Someone else arrived and then the world shifted into some bizarre canyon with strange looking liquids. The transition itself had separated her from her ferocious steed and she tumbled down toward the waste.
Clutching the cane trusted to her, Jenna thanked Aurelio as he went off to assist the injured. Looking at the realm as it stood the fractures were clear signs that everyone present was under threat. Things had to end, like, now. Everyone was moving in at various points and targets. Eyes darting here and there she was looking for something. Eyes shimmering red she'd found something she hadn't anticipated but found useful none the less. She had a package to deliver and she had to get there ASAP. Mind made up she activated the copied Avatar power. Horns, spines, and tails growing as her eyes turned deep red and clothes shifted to more of an armor the magical surge partially triggered her Metamorphosis. Realistically there were only a few key targets to end this conflict. Top most on Jenna's mind though was Justine.
Justine had launched into the air and taken hold of another girl, no doubt trying to use her as she had Janet in the past. External magic not being much use Jenna focused her various specs inward. Primarily Reinforcement, Lightning, and Time to accelerate herself. Breaking into a run she rushed past the others to move below her target. Crouching down and using the earth in contact with her feet to jut up as she jumped, Jenna fired herself into the air like a projectile at the vampire girl.
There were a number of things that could occur here. The first hope was her speed and time acceleration would allow her to take Justine by surprise. Sonia had already moved to intercept others headed their direction. Tenebra she wasn't sure about, but the magical nullification made most attacks less of an issue. Still, Jenna was prepared should she get in the way. The magical payload of the cane just had to be unloaded on Justine.
God this was such a bad idea. She couldn't just sit by and watch though. Taking the device and following orders Jenna made her way and teleported onto the battlefield. No sooner had she arrived then the dimension shook. From the outside of the null field she could see with her Third Eye that the surrounding area had been cut off from its magical source. Perhaps your average Dimensional Home would have been fine, but maintaining something this large required far more. And the result would undoubtedly be catastrophic.
This magical void wouldn't effect her as much, not being that big of a ranged fighter, but it did narrow down her options of support. She'd been told to help Aurelio and Alicia so she began to make her way there. Focusing her magic inward she boosted her speed. Most of the fighting having moved she was bound to intercept the Beacon boy first. Following the inroads already made toward the battered fortification she was able to avoid the laid traps. A fair number of creatures had been dispelled by the field as well so it made easier going for the brief moment. Only a matter of time though. Moving to the last location she'd knows Aurelio to be she found him not far off. "I get the feeling your plan has been put on ice for the moment. Any way I can help with that?" Reaching out a hand she placed it on his shoulder to give him magical emotional, mental support and just a bit of healing. Though it was hard to tell if he needed that last one.
With her barriers down she was going to have to rely more on her spear to fend off attacks. She wasn't as familiar with what everyone was capable of in close quarters aside from a handful of those present. Before running off to the next person though she was going to try and figure out just what was the plan here. She had just thrown herself in the middle of a crumbling warzone after all.
Living Lacrama: As the name may suggest, Ariel is able to absorb, store, and release magic not unlike a lacrama would. The process of absorbing a magic can happen in two main ways; passively over a span of being exposed to the same magic or rapidly by direct infusion or a massive magical surge. The latter usually comes in the form of a lacrama or a powerful use of magic directed at or near her. This by no means makes her immune to damage she might take as a result of a magical attack.
One primary difference though is that once she's gained a new magic she does not lose it even after expending all of one type of magic. Still, unless replenished over time or exposure each magic has a finite reserve that she can draw from. As she unlocks other magics she is able to switch between them, only able to use one at a time. Switching looks visually similar to requiping, her clothes, hair, and eyes changing color to reflect the magic she is meaning to use. Creature magic may include other not human aspects as well.
This leads us to the more negative aspects of such an ability. While she has an ever growing list of magic utility, unless she trains with a given magic her ability to effectively use it is greatly hindered. Like a lacrama, she could potentially be used as a magical source of energy, though there is perhaps only one person that has discovered as much. Her magic also controls her just as much as she controls it. Each magic is accompanied with a different personality trait. So fire will exhibit a more hot headed demeanor than the more docile water. More chaotic type magics could lead her down a darker path. There are also times where she cannot control which magic she will exhibit if she is having a strong emotion, instead switching to the magic most closely associated with that feeling.
As mentioned, Ariel's personality varies based on the magic she is currently exhibiting. Normally she had been quite wary of people, having been taught not to trust outright. Thankfully she is more confident when she has her Aether magic, able to better combine pieces of her fractured personality. Becoming something of an icon has helped as well.
Below is the magic she has access to, how she can apply it, and her general experience level of using each (Novice | Experienced | Expert). Generally speaking though a true mage of any one magic far exceeds her capabilities and spell complexities.
Color: goldenrod This could be considered the meeting point of all the other magics she has and the culmination of her personality traits. Ariel's most stable form emotionally. As far as using magic though she is limited to what are effectively cantrips of the other magics. Small flames in her hand, a ball of light to illuminate an area, small shocks of electricity on touch, and so on. It is not particularly useful to Ariel in combat and would probably take way to long to ever be proficient even given some years. Picked up from a mage know as Ferrin.
Color: slateblue Main personality trait: Melancholy Not Ariel's favorite magic due to it making her sad. Being the first magic she gained Ariel has had more time to learn to use it. Still though her abilities boil down to being able to manipulate and shoot jets of water as well as improved movement when swimming by causing the water to flow around her. Probably one of the easier magics to learn. Picked up over time from the residual magic of Crystal Lake in Oak Town.
Color: orangered Main personality trait: Aggressive
Also not one of Ariel's favorite ways to feel, but it has more uses in combat so she uses it more. Cones of fire, hurling fireballs, and generally engulfing things in flames is the go to here. Seeing as it can be destructive she's taken time to hone her ability to use it quite a bit more. Picked up by exposure from nearby mages when living in Oak Town.
Color: khaki Main personality trait: Cheerful A go to when Ariel is in a good mood as she nearly exemplifies a ray of sunshine. Fans seem particularly fond of it too. Burning rays, orbs of light, and blinding bursts make this one of her flashier options. Being one of the first positive traits she got she stuck with Light magic often to avoid being sad or angry and learned to use it better in the process. Picked up from exposure of various mages after joining Phoenix Wing.
Color: lightblue Main personality trait: Cold A useful magic that Ariel is still somewhat reluctant to use due to how she can treats others. Able to form ice in crude shapes, generate frosty winds, and a freezing touch. Thanks to training with others in the guild she's become more accustomed to using this magic despite how she feels. Picked up from guildmate named Amaya.
Color: yellow Main personality trait: Excitable Another more commonly used due to the positive feeling and effective use. Shocks and bolts of lightning are the main types of attacks Ariel uses. Practice here was primarily so she had some more useful magic for fighting. Picked up from various mages and a magic defense run into on a job.
Color: crimson Main personality trait: Subservient Unfortunately avoided due to it potentially getting her in trouble. This magic saps the strength from others in physical contact and adds it to Ariel herself. Definitely more of a close quarters magic that she can use to combat brawlers. It being a fairly passive ability she doesn't require much training to use it. Picked up from a mage she had to fight during one of her early guild jobs.
Color: green Main personality trait: Motherly Becomes very kind and caring of others, particularly toward children. Able to rapidly grow and control small plants and trees. Peculiarly Ariel physically takes on more tree like properties with her skin becoming rough and her hair more leaf like. It also extends that she can grow other plant like features such as roots or thorns from her body. The magic having a close connection with nature most of how she uses the magic just comes to her. Picked up from a lacrama during Tidius' experiments.
Color: gray Main personality trait: Brooding Takes strongly after the source of the magic, one of the semi-negative traits she doesn't mind so much. She can unleash and manipulate burning hot plumes of ash. Has had the chance to learn better control thanks to working with the same mage she got it from. Picked up from her boyfriend Nolan.
Color: deeppink Main personality trait: Passionate A personality trait that was somewhat stolen from another mage. Another popular magic with the fans. Ariel can create crystals that are basically magic grenades. As she uses this commonly because of the positivity and it's quite flashy for the fans. Picked up from a fellow guildmate Marlene.
Color: black Main personality trait: Apathetic Generally where she ends up after being emotionally overwhelmed. It is not a place Ariel likes to be so she tends to avoided using the magic when possible. Blasts of dark energy and surrounding areas in darkness can be expected uses. Lack of use means she isn't particularly effective at using this magic. Picked up from various mages but particularly one known as Luna.
Color: pink Main personality trait: Loving Kind of just shows up when she wants to love on people. Being mostly a social magic it almost passively endears people to her and when focused on someone it can make them infatuated with Ariel for a time. Wears off pretty quickly normally. Her lack of control means it can sometimes have unintentional results. Nolan found this out the hard way after getting a big dose of Charm magic. Picked up from a mage named Prince.
Color: tan Main personality trait: Reserved Not a commonly used magic, mostly because she has numerous others. Ariel is able to manipulate particulates in the area to create obscuring clouds of dust, rough constructs, and abrasive blasts. Has had minor training using the magic but has largely been left to work on her own. Picked up from a fellow guildmate named Fleo.
Color: lightgray Main personality trait: Defensive Generally only run into when focusing on protecting others. Can form lightweight blades and shields that are sustained by the magic. Running low or out of magic causes the metal to weaken and eventually dispel. Picked up from another mage named Shujin.
Color: saddlebrown Main personality trait: Stubborn Stubborn as the earth and stone that she can control. Shifting and manipulating dirt and stones about the size of a basketball is close to the largest things she can move at this point. The difficulty of moving these materials has been the major hinderance in improving in this magic. Picked up from a lacrama during Tidius' experiments.
Color: skyblue Main personality trait: Playful Not too far off from Light magic in its more cheery nature, but she does tend to act a bit more childish. Gusts of wind and to a lesser extent whirlwinds. She hasn't practiced a whole lot with this magic as she hasn't found as many uses for it. Picked up from a lacrama during Tidius' experiments.
Color: bold Main personality trait: Commanding More behavioral than anything as she becomes more bossy. If she were to make contracts with spirits then shou could summon them. Thus far she's yet to do such a thing so the magic is not all that useful. Picked up from a couple spirit mages Gabriel and Michael
Color: steelblue Main personality trait: Fearful Being fearful isn't a state Ariel likes to be in, so this magic usually makes an appearance when she's actually scared. The magical barriers are marginally effective as she has avoided using the magic, usually opting for Metal or something else. Picked up from a fellow mage known as Cody.
Color: bold Main personality trait: Creative Loves creating things, obviously. Using the paint magic she can create all kinds of objects. Much like Metal the creations must be maintained by her magical reserves. Lack of use means she can't create anything larger than your average house cat. Picked up after getting trapped in a magic painting created by Isla.
Color: red Main personality trait: Rage Being angry is not an emotion that Ariel likes to exhibit, and this one ever less. Using this magic does damage to herself as she can create and fire blood red spikes from her body. Losing a fair amount of her rationality this can put her in a lot of trouble and quickly wears her down. Picked up from another mage named Melina.
Color: dimgray Main personality trait: None Perhaps her most dangerous magic. As with Zeref she becomes surrounded by clouds that saps the life out of things around her. Exactly how this magic is triggered is unknown. Picked up after a direct strike from Zeref's Death Magic during her visit to Tenrou Island.
Color: italic Main personality trait: Curious Opening things up and searching around are common occurrences with this personality. Like most Exceed she can really only use one magic, Aera, that allows her to fly at high speed using impossibly small wings. Being a fairly straight forward magic it didn't take long to learn. Picked up after extended exposure to Exceeds, mostly Dalton, but also from others in the guild.
Color: thistle Main personality trait: Mischievous Getting into or maybe even causing trouble is the name of the game with this magic. Adorned with fox ears, yellow eyes, sharp claws, and nine super fluffy tails. Most of the magic being race based such as strength, speed, agility, magical resistance, and heightened senses means there isn't that much to learn in order to use this magic. This is more a magic Ariel can call on when she needs to fight up close. Picked up via magical transference from a Kitsune girl named Nyssa.
Color: orange Main personality trait: Forgetful Perhaps a side effect of dying, but Ariel has difficulty remembering things with this magic. The flames of her Phoenix magic is not far off from her regular Fire magic, but they are more intense. As it takes a while to regenerate this magic she rarely is even able to use it. Transforming in a ball of flame, Ariel grows a full pair of wings that allow her to fly. Picked up by absorbing the magic from the ashes of a fallen Phoenix.
Color: olivedrab Main personality trait: Feral The creature side of this magic takes a strong hold as she looses some of her own self. Heightened sense of smell, strength, durability, and a Dragon roar encompass this magic. As with the other strong magics she can only use it occasionally. Picked up from exposure to slayers turned dragon during her visit to Tenrou Island.
Color: black Main personality trait: Arrogant Infused with the magic of a god, Ariel inherited the mightier than thou mentality. Most of her body turns jet black and her power is fully displayed. Increased strength and durability, she lacks proper control so the blasts from her magic are really taxing so it is easy to burn through this magic quickly as she destroys things around her. Picked up by stealing the power of a god sealed inside a magic artifact.
Magic Level: B
History:
Given the overall decreased number of mages Ariel's magical prowess went without being realized until her late teens. There was always something a little off though. The few times a mage would pass through her home of Oak Town she would start acting up even as a little girl. It was always attributed to her young age and later on to being a teenager. Being a free spirit she would often visit the Crystal Lake through the years. Never able to keep the child put her father taught her the use of a weapon for self defense. Thankfully she's never had to use it.
As she grew into a young woman more mages began to come through. While beginning to be exposed to more magics the first one that showed up first was water. Perhaps it was the legend of the mage upstream but the many years by and swimming in the nearby lake finally drew in enough traces of magic to allow her to use water magic. Unable to change back to her usual appearance she hurried back home. She stayed shut in for the better part of a year until she changed again, a nearby guild having a couple fire users. Nearly burning down her home that first time only switching back to water did she manage to save most of her belongings. Clearly not having this under control she left town so she wouldn't harm anyone else.
Along her travels she visited a few guilds but whenever she began to feel unusual she would leave. Eventually she realized the mood swings she would have coincided with the changes of magic. Coming to the conclusion that she couldn't truly figure this out on her own she began to ask around for a good guild to actually join. Phoenix Wing came up a few times and it sounded like a good place to start. If it wasn't for her then she would move on.
Through her adventures with Phoenix Wing the woman's range of magic grew greatly, including some potentially volatile ones. With some risky use of Charm magic Ariel also managed to break Nolan of his fear of women, er... actually just Ariel herself. Some rather bizarre adventures together eventually found them as an item despite the circumstances. A trip to her parents to introduce her boyfriend and get some answers revealed a lot more about who and what she was. As they would come to learn, Ariel was created and born in Edolas. An attempt to bring back the use of magic to the depleted land. While the experiment had resulted in her mother Estella being able to channel magic, her daughter developed a much more advanced form of magic absorption. Of course it had the side effect of fracturing the girl's mental state. Somehow her mother had found a way to her them both to Earthland where she would presumably be safe from those in her homeland that would seek exploit her abilities. This threat of course still existed from other parties here, but until recently Ariel's abilities had been able to be kept under wraps. Needless to say this was a pretty jarring thing to learn and it took a while to fully come to terms with the truth.
After the events leading up to and on Tenrou Island, Ariel needed time to gather herself and learn to better control the magic she possessed. Leaving for a year to train and soul search she had minimal contact with anyone besides Nolan. Upon returning Ariel was much more stable, but still had to reintegrate with society again. Not long after she was noticed by some talent scouts working on contracting mages for Sorcerer Magazine. She didn't initially take them up on the offer. However, having gotten back into the rhythm with the guild and friends she recently signed on to the magazine. As part of the agreement she had to travel to their offices for a couple months. Though a recent development, Ariel has become something of a rising pop star in the magical world. She may lack in major accomplishments, but her reputation is quickly proceeding her.

Motivation:
Maintain control of herself and her magic.
Additional Details:
Greatest Love:
Nolan
Equipment:
A chain weapon with small blades on the end that her father taught her to use. Mainly a defensive weapon as it lacks real mass or punch.
Also I will try to make her name color coincide with the current magic she is using. So long as I can find one readable.

It it wasn't for her then she would move on.

Equipment:
A chain weapon with small blades on the end that her father taught her to use. Mainly a defensive weapon as it lacks real mass or punch.
Also I will try to make her name color coincide with the current magic she is using. So long as I can find one readable.
With various tasks agreed on, the two would walk away and head in the direction to check on the operation. Along the way though Janet opted to head back to the lab to get to work, leaving Jenna to see what all was going on. As she understood it Elora was the one overseeing everything. Making her way to the mission's command, Jenna looked over the magical displays trying to make sense of what was going on. Looked quite chaotic. "I got your call. How do things look?" She stood at a distance so as not to distract Elora by hovering.
Getting back to the lab, Janet began to scrawl out some formulas on a barrier with her magic. They never wrote things down on paper or on a computer when they worked. Just on the off chance someone might try and steal information. Whether that be the Mint, Penny, some other third party, or even Beacon. Working for a time, Cindy wrestled control from Janet when some good progress was being made. Looking over the info before her she scowled. And thus started a back and forth process of talk between them.
What is the meaning of this Janet?
Rachael has given us orders to create a weapon.
I see that. I cannot allow such a thing to be in the hands of Beacon. You know this does not fall under our agreement.
I realize this. At this point I am trying not to get us killed.
If that is your fear then why do you stay?
We're not in a position yet to make the needed changes.
So long as the Ascendancy is here you will not get what you request. You must make a choice.
I'm buying time here.
You're making excuses. I can tell what you're doing here. You cannot change Beacon as you believe.
And you can't just force us to leave yet.
Trapped in a circular argument for several minutes the girl was practically frozen. It was ultimately obvious that the contract they had was not going to work under these circumstances. Some of the restrictions needed to be laxed a bit else neither of them would be able to operate. Perhaps she should have taken up Penny on trying to remove her. Not that she was particularly sure it would work to begin with. Now she was going to have to share in the process of making this weapon. One thing was for sure, this whole wish for knowledge was turning against them pretty fast.
Oros? Ah, the one that Hilde met. They didn't really know a whole lot about her other than she was associated with Faith in some way and let Hilde and her friends go. There didn't seem to be any particular reason not to as least hear her out. Making a connection Janet spoke to Oros' mind. Hello Oros. You need some help with something?”
“yea, bi, dose deeds two be webodized!” There was a short pause in communication. “Bi dose is doh logger adached. So I am thinging with a dazaly voice do illustrate tad pound.”
Taking a few moments to sort out what in the world was being said it eventually came together. Alright then. That is quite confusing. What exactly about your nose? Janet wanted to be sure she was understanding the message right.
“You’re not nearly as fun as your minion is.” The mental message was followed by a mental laugh. “My nose has an interesting characteristic. I can sniff out magical girls based on their patrons. I would like to give it an upgrade.”
That was a new ability to Janet. Also a potentially dangerous one. She did manage a slight chuckle. Well, fun isn't always Beacon's strong suit. What do you mean by an upgrade? Trying to find something? Curiosity had the better of her for the moment.
“Improve the proximity.” was the all-to-obvious answer. “Say I wanted to hone my nose to the point where I could smell everything in penrose… simultaneously! .The rotting garbage on the second floor everyone refuses to empty, the depleted case of lipstick left in the men’s bathroom, your panties, if I could take it all in at once, I’d know who everyone’s allegiance is for.” Oros hummed. “Though I guess a more boring use of that power would be to track down mint agents, wherever they hide...”
While I’m all for tracking down Mint, that’s a pretty tall order. What makes you think I can do something like that? Much less what you might do afterward. The two walked around until they came across a window to look out at who they were speaking with.
A laugh poured into Janet’s mind. It was loud and coarse, like reverberating metal. It would have been total ear rape material if she was listening to it with her ears. “You made a coin that can purify corruption, you made a homunculus, you mean to tell me that making my nose a wee bit stronger poses a problem?” The laughing continued. “Who cares what I’m going to do with it afterwards? I’ll tell you what I’m not going to do with it. I’m totally not going to side with a magical girl who tried to remove all love from the world even though it goes against everything my patron stands for just so that I can lay waste to another, far less dangerous magical girl.” She cleared her throat, or at least sent a telepathic sound that she was. “You want to know my real intentions? My nose isn’t just capable of picking up on patrons. It can also guide me to people with certain qualities. Qualities that make for an ideal, mmmmmm, what’s the word? Not friend, something stronger than that…”
The Beacon girl wasn't quite connecting the same dots, but the message of potential help in the future was clear enough. Seemed this Oros knew more of what was going on than she'd expected. Try as she might, getting allies outside of Beacon had been proving to be more difficult than expected. So really any support she could get toward a more peaceful resolution would be good. Suppose if I want to prove I'm not like all the rest in Beacon I should at least make myself available to others. I can see what I can do. How do you propose I do this? I don't believe those above me would just let me bring you in to study and figure out what needs to be done. Not that I think you would want to be in that position to begin with.
Oros took something out of Summer’s hand and tossed it up to the window where Janet was standing. The small shape hurdled through the air before it got close enough for Janet to catch.
“One of your friends did the honor of removing my nose from my face. I’d normally be pissed about it, but they gave me a cool replacement.” She waved. “I doubt even Beacon would get pissy over something like a nose, but you do you. Maybe don’t report it? I’ve always just done what I wanted.” She folded her arms. “Unless you want payment for this, I can head out, right? I’d just like to know a good time to return for my nose when you’re done modding it.”
Catching the nose thrown up to her, she was rather surprised when she actually took a look at what it was. How? What the... okay. She pocketed the nose and paused for a few seconds. Was not expecting that at all. I can't be for certain. This would be my first nose job. Think you can part with it for a couple weeks? She had loosened up just a little. Getting orders from the Inquisitor always put them on edge.
Oros smiled. “Sure. I’m not letting you keep it though.”
That would not be very good for business. Just come back around the area and we’ll be able to find you. She returned the smile briefly.
They had tried to explain this a bit last time, but Rachel had in her mind that Janet had placed Cindy in her head on purpose. The Ascendancy leader taking over the research department was a big issue. Should they succeed in making this weapon then it would only lead to further division. Well, probably. Forcing people to be purified was something they'd considered, but the risks outweighed the rewards. Making and securing it first off. Afterward though the implications and damage it would do to relations they were trying to forge. And with the Cardinal still largely out of the picture there was no telling when they might be able to be bailed out. They'd done their job a little too well.
Nodding in recognition to Rachel's orders the two stepped back. left the room. This was a problem, primarily because the making of the weapon could run a foul of the contract they'd made with Cindy. No, this wasn't going to work. At least not as things were currently. There weren't that many options at the moment. Leaving Beacon was one such choice, but would not really help with their goals. There were things that, if they worked out properly, would give them the advantage in being able to better coordinate things. Still probably wouldn't put them in a good position with Beacon though. They perhaps were going to have to rework the agreement with Cindy and come up with a better solution. Autonomy was the main issue at play here. The girls had thought they had more time to sort this kind of thing out but this really pushed up the timetable.
The meeting not being particularly distracting the two had kept up their monitoring of the area. A Beacon member, Summer, had popped up nearby accompanied by someone else they didn't recognize. Before moving anywhere else Janet contacted Summer with their mind. Hey Summer, Who is that with you? Even though they'd been given an ultimatum they didn't really plan on going to the lab today. Too many other things going on. Especially with a number of others already out.
Melisa Reese
Age: 28/13 | Gender: Female/Female | Spirit, Metal | Skimpy Ranged | Tentacles | Lesser Force Automation, Lure, Enter Sandman, Communion, Inheritance, Prey of Choice, Invisibility, Purification Artifact Focused, Mental Link, Retrieval, Magical Overload Limited, Alien Mind, Clueless, Monstrous Form
Being lifted out from under the crowd, Melisa smiled. "Thank you. I kind of got mixed up in among the bunch of them." The beast she was placed on not seeming to entirely like her there the girl tried to avoid poking the cat with her limbs, opting to sit down. To her advantage she didn't weigh much. Free of being stepped on she looked up to Nuncio.
"I don't really know what Beacon is, so I'm not exactly sure what that means. Some other girls I met didn't seem to like them very much." She glanced around the room. "Seems a good amount share that feeling." Not outright asking about them, it was pretty clear she could stand to have things explained to her.
Janet didn't really like the way things were developing. Seemed they'd done a little too well of a job with the purification tools. Still, they were the only ones able to make them so that at least prevented things from going too out of hand. Handed the document she reviewed it briefly before handing it over to Jenna to look over. She watched her sister for a moment before Jenna shrugged a bit. "This isn't really the same thing as imbuing a coin. Though we expected a request such as this would come up eventually. We can try, but the magic wasn't really designed for something like this. We can't entirely be sure of the result." She ran through the ideas coming to her.
Seeming to be on the same page, Janet turned back to Rachel. "I must express caution in perusing this kind of weapon. The purification we've created is based off previous variants that requires consent. Removing that safeguard further exposes it to manipulation. Namely, if a weapon such as this were to fall into the wrong hands it could potentially be corrupted and have the opposite effect. We run the risk of creating an even greater darkness that could spread far and wide. I do not believe this is a safe course of action and could undermine our goals of saving and protecting the world." This really could get out of hand. They already operated on what was considered fringe magical science. This would begin stepping outside things they understood. Cindy could potentially help, but doing that was risky in its own right and she probably wouldn't want this thing either.

Most of the things going on in the sanctuary were well beyond Melisa's current knowledge. Some kind of announcement about peace that seemed to spark anything but, two different groups that seemed to be against the queen or the people on the video? Something about Beacon which she'd heard were not safe to be around. Really it seemed to be a mess over all. Being smaller than practically everyone else in the room she couldn't really see what was going on. Thankfully Dina, the cat girl that she hadn't really had the chance to meet, calmed things down like a pro. Whoo, well that was close.
Her attention was a bit on the glowing light she could barely make out through everyone there. Despite being made of metal she could feel the warmth of it. What the hell is going on? Weaving her way through the legs of those gathered she managed her way out of the crowd and tried to find someone that might be able to answer some questions. "Hey um, can you explain what's going on? I don't uh, really know what people are talking about." She said as she tugged to get them to look down.
Janet wasn't quite sure how she wanted to answer the question on Penny. Outright lying didn't sound like a good idea though. "We spoke with her briefly. She tends keep to herself, always has. We are mostly waiting to hear back." She rubbed her forehead. "I don't expect to hear much until the attack against Mariette to be over and things settle down." She would state.
"Aside from that. Is there anything you would like us to handle?" Considering she intended to stay behind, Janet figured she should at least make herself useful.
