It was the official first day of registration, and the vast majority of Camp Liberty’s campers were making their arrivals today. Going against the crowd as always, Sierra Jameson had arrived at the campsite the night before, coming straight to the woods as soon as she’d set foot on LA for the first time.  She had managed to score the only single bed of the cabin she was assigned, and she had settled in with no fuss or setbacks before going to the cafeteria for some dinner. The past night’s weather had been pretty kind to her, and she begged the gods that the vast amount of trees around her would keep the temperature in the ranges she was used to.

She’d taken advantage of the strange fact that she’d woken up early and that the camp was pretty much empty and free of any supervision to explore what would be her home for the next nearly-two months. Wearing jean shorts, an Avengers T-shirt, black Converse sneakers, Sierra roamed the forest with no particular destination until she found herself at a clearing right in front of a lake’s edge. Sierra smiled to herself. She had found what would be her safe place to get away from camp when she became overwhelmed, and the perfect place to smoke without getting into trouble. Smoking sounded like a good idea now that she thought about it. It would help her relax and maybe, just maybe, even be a little less sarcastic around the sea of people that was sure to arrive today.

Sierra took a long look around her surroundings to make sure she was completely alone before taking her clothes off. She stood in the clearing with nothing but her underwear, but how else was she supposed to keep the heavy cigarette smell from her clothes? She didn’t ponder too much about it, though. Placing her clothes on the floor in a neatly folded pile, Sierra sat on top of it and took out a cig and a lighter from her small black messenger bag. She placed the cig on her mouth, holding it in place with her teeth, and expertly lighted it in a blink of an eye. Soon, the smell of nicotine had filled Sierra’s lungs, and she felt the nervousness and tension slowly blow away from her body with the smoke. Sierra quietly gazed at the lake, the way the sunlight illuminated the water, the bright blue sky with no clouds in sight, while a soft breeze played with her loose black locks. If her mother had wanted Sierra to spend her summer at hell, she’d been so thankfully mistaken.

Sierra’s quiet time was interrupted when the Kim Possible text message notification sound came from her bag, signaling the arrival of a new text. Sierra quickly got her phone out to read the message.

Girl. The X-Box 360 is open and we have a few minutes before introductions. Tell me you're here! :D

Sierra smiled brightly at her phone. She’d met Audrey in one of the X-box 360’s servers, and they had become fast friends bonding over the games they played, the music they listened to and just the daily struggles of being a teen. In no time, the girls had added each other in whatever social media they had (which was just Facebook in Sierra’s case) and were soon having Skype conversations 4 to 5 days a week. Their friendship only grew stronger with time, and they both threw individual dance parties when they found out Sierra was going to Camp Liberty. To make things even more fun, Sierra was sorted into the Red Team, where Audrey would be the leader this year. It was obvious to say that, even though she’d miss spending the summer with her big sis Chloe or her best friend Joo, Sierra was beyond excited to finally meet Audrey.

Holding the cig in place with her teeth, Sierra’s thumbs flew across the screen, tying a quick response to Audrey.

To: Audrey-boo
Fuck yes! Been here since last night. Gimme a sec and I’ll be right there. Can’t wait to meet you and beat your cute little gamer ass! ;P

Taking the last few drags of her cigarette, Sierra pressed the butt of it on the sole of her sneaker and threw it on a conveniently nearby trashcan. She made sure to cover the smell of nicotine from her skin with a decent amount of perfume before getting dressed, popping a few mints into her mouth and heading out to the Media Room. However, her phone signaled the arrival of yet another text while she was walking, and Sierra took a moment to read who it was from.

From: Ariel The Kitten Not The Mermaid

Guess who’s at camp, loves! Get your asses to the main hall PRONTO.

Sierra couldn’t help but chuckle at the words on the screen. Ariel had probably sent that as a text to multiple people at the same time, because there was no way she could’ve forgotten that Sierra knew she was at camp.

To: Ariel The Kitten Not The Mermaid 
We spent the whole night together yesterday, Kitty. I know very well that you’re here at camp. ;D LOL XD 
Anyway, meeting a friend ATM. I’ll catch you afterwards. 
PS: Hope you have a few hot friends you can introduce me to! I wanna have myself some intimate company while I’m here.

Sierra sent Ariel the message and continued on her way to the Media Room. She opened the room’s door and quietly looked around until her eyes fell on a familiar face sitting in the corner of one of the long couches of the media room. Sierra’s mouth turned into a Cheshire cat smile.

”Aaaaaaauuuuuudreeeeeeyyyyyyy!” Sierra shrieked loudly, making heads turn before tackling the unsuspecting long-haired brunette. The two girls fell down on the long couch in a tangle of limbs, with Sierra giggling. She quickly stood up, waited for Audrey to do so before giving her friend a tight hug. “Oh my God, I can’t believe we’re actually meeting after all these years of being gamer girl goals!” Sierra told Audrey, letting go of her to further examine her friend’s face. “And let me just say, you are sooooo much prettier in person.” She told her with a bright smile.
